"Yes what's the matter?", she asked. On hearing that mellifluous voice of hers, my brain formated. I forgot all that Chris taught me that moment; lost in thoughts I kept staring at the sky and scratching my head.
"What's it ?" She asked again and then I forced myself to say something, "ehm, actually, I came to ask if you had any engineering maths problem you would like me to help you solve. Solving maths is my hobby and I know you are an engineering student." "Well, I don't have any problem in maths, thank you, bye", she replied and was about to walk away, but I knew my mission would be a failed one if I let her go like that. "Ehm, actually, I came with a message from my brother standing over there", I said while pointing at Chris who was waiting under the mango tree. "He asked me to tell you that I love you and would like to be your friend"
She kept mute for a while and looked me from the feet to the upper body region, she particularly gave my suit a keen look and finally replied," go tell him i said you are a fool, okay? And when you get back to the hostel, don't forget to return obinna's suit"
She hissed, turned and walked away.I kept standing where she left me like a log of wood until Chris came over to meet me and just as he was about to ask how I fared, I walked away too and left him there.
I was devastated. I wasn't pained much because she called me a fool but how she knew I was wearing obinna's suit. On getting to the hostel I found out that Maryam was Obinna's elder sister and the suit was actually a gift from her to Obinna on his last birthday.Ohhhh, how worse could it get?
From there, I promised myself to stay away from Ladies and their likes, I even concluded I was going to the seminary after university.

Politics › Re: Panama Papers: Bukola Saraki Says He Won't Resign by JuicyStar: 10:25pm On Apr 08, 2016 |
Embattled Senate President Bukola Saraki on friday said he would not yield to growing calls from Nigerians that he should step down amid growing corruption scandals. Mr. Saraki said those calling for his resignation were being sponsored by politicians who had always opposed his leadership since he emerged Senate President last June, He added that his detractors were trying to circumvent the country’s judicial system. Mr. Saraki was responding to a story published by PREMIUM TIMES earlier today, in which the Transition Monitoring Group lend its voice to a growing call for the Senate President’s ouster. In a text message sent to our reporter by his Special Adviser on Media, Yusuph Olaniyonu, Mr. Saraki said he was not contemplating resignation. “There’s a case in the Tribunal and a resultant appeal at the Court of Appeal,” the statement said. “The underlining philosophy of our legal system is that an accused person is presumed innocent until found guilty.” “Those who are contemplating calls for resignation want to circumvent the judicial system. They are obviously being sponsored by some politicians. “The Senate President is not contemplating any resignation. He will surely have his day in court.” Foramfera Since Mr. Saraki was arraigned by the Code of Conduct Tribunal and the PREMIUM TIMES expose about his secret offshore assets in tax havens, the calls for him to step down has continued to mount. On Thursday, several activists and other Nigerians openly called on the Senate President to resign. They were joined today by the TMG. PREMIUM TIMES had reported on Monday that Mr. Saraki failed to disclose four assets found to be in his wife’s name offshore, in violation of Nigeria’s code of conduct law. That revelation came to light following the leak of a trove of internal data from the Panama-based offshore-provider, Mossack Fonseca, obtained by the German newspaper, Süddeutsche Zeitung, and shared by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) with PREMIUM TIMES and over 100 other media partners in 82 countries. In his response to that publication, Mr. Saraki said the controversial assets belonged to the estate of his wife’s rich and famous family, and that the law did not mandate him to declare such a category of assets. But PREMIUM TIMES later found that the assets neither belong to Toyin, his wife, nor to her family’s estate. They are clearly Mr. Saraki’s. According to the new documents retrieved by PREMIUM TIMES from the massive Mossack Fonseca database, the assets in Toyin’s name are actually held in trust for Mr. Saraki, Nigeria’s third most powerful official. http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/201462-panamapapers-i-wont-resign-senate-president-bukola-saraki-says.htmlWho u come dey threaten? wachakuta: The team of investigators at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) looking into how the office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) shared funds meant for fighting Boko Haram has detected another line of payment made to companies linked with Thisday publisher and owner of Arise TV, Nduka Obaigbena.
Nduka Obaigbena of ThisDay and Arise TV Ventures Africa
The investigators said Obaigbena received at least N650million from Dasuki for questionable transactions.
They also said that Obaigbena, who is also the Chairman of the Newspaper Proprietors Association Of Nigeria, has dropped out of sight since the discovery and all attempts at reaching him have failed, EFCC sources said.
Today, SaharaReporters reached Mr. Obaigbena, who said he was in New York. He said that prior to his trip to New York, he had been at meetings in London, and will return to Nigeria when he is through with his visit to New York.
He admitted that his newspaper company received a letter from the EFCC and that a response had been sent to explain what they know about the case involving Raymond Dokpesi’s Daar Communications. Dokpesi was arrested last week, but he and his family have offered conflicting accounts about why he received billions of Naira from Dasuki.
Obaigbena told SaharaReporters he did not receive any monies from the former NSA, a point strongly disputed by EFCC investigators.

makzeze: Nigerian Man Starts Preaching In London Bus And Is Told To Shut Up Or They Call The Police
A Nigerian man took to a London bus and starting constituting a nuisance of himself there preaching. In the UK, he would most likely be disturbing the peace and could be arrested. The preacher kept insisting that the passengers hear him out ‘because I am preaching the word of life.’
An annoyed female passenger who was obviously frustrated with the preacher’s refusal to get off the bus yelled at him, ‘Idiot!’ He further shocked passengers with his refusal to get off the bus and just stayed on disturbing the peace. It became so embarrasing that the driver stopped the bus and told the passengers he wasn’t moving the vehicle till the preacher gets off.
Another visibly angry passenger even yelled at the preacher threatening to call the police. She was even backed by another man who insisted the preacher must get off the bus or get arrested.
‘Well, it’s up to you,’ the preacher replied.

"December is the last month of the year I start every month thankful and for this month of December I am eternally grateful. I am worthy of love, to give and receive. I have value and self-respect, no one has the ability to oppress, suppress or depress me. I am enough and complete in God. My today is better than yesterday.
I have come to a place of wholeness, strength and joy. God pulled me out of mess; I have a happy life free from abuse. No one can take the place of God; he is sovereign and reigns forever. Man is mortal and his days on earth are numbered. When the end comes, it is a glorious thing to return to our maker, to dwell in His holiness and truth. The end of the year brings a rebirth of another year. The death of something can be the rebirth of another thing. All is not lost. Whatever happens in your life, no matter how distressing things might seem. When darkness appears endless, watch out for that tiny spark of light, when you can muster up the courage to thank God for closed doors. In the process of counting your blessings, you find joy!".

cathodekazim: Group sues Buhari, seeks to halt ministers’ inauguration
Nigerian youths under the aegis of Youth Concerns Realisation Initiative have filed a suit seeking to stop President Muhammadu Buhari from inaugurating the 36 recently-cleared ministers.
The members of the group are protesting against the non-inclusion of youths among the ministers-designate.
Media officer of the initiative, Ms. Blessing Luka, who spoke on behalf of the group at a press briefing in Abuja, on Monday, said it was now clear that the administration has no intention of giving Nigerian youths a chance.
She expressed regret that politicians across party lines had formed the habit of using youths during elections and dumping them afterwards.
She said, “We at YCRI have filed an action in suit No FHC/ABJ/773/2015. We expected to see youths among the President’s 36 nominees sent to the Senate but we were disappointed to see no youth in the list.
“For this reason, we have gone to court to ask for an injunction to restrain the President from inaugurating them until they give the youths a sense of belonging.
“This matter was filed on Friday October 30, 2015. What we are simply asking is that they (ministers-designate) should not be inaugurated or assigned portfolios.”
Luka stressed that it would be a total disservice to the nation for youths who formed the bulk of Nigeria’s population to be left out of the decision-making process.
According to her, Nigerians youths had restrained themselves from resorting to self-help, hence their decision to seek legal redress.
http://punchng.com/2015/11/3385 Bunch of clown. This matter will thrown out at first sitting. There's a difference between Law and sentiments. No constitutional provision or any other law mandates the President to appoint a particular age grade to take up ministerial positions or whatsoever positions. Secondly, who used you? You only allowed yourselves to be used. Advise: pls use this ur small change to eat and better ur live rather than engaging the service of a lawyer. |

richidinho: The Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders has threatened to sue the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for ignoring the series of petitions written by it against former Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State.
The Executive Director of CACOL, Mr. Debo Adeniran, told our correspondent that he was disappointed that the Senate and President Muhammadu Buhari could find Fashola worthy of a ministerial appointment despite the series of allegations against him.
He, however, said since Fashola did not have immunity, CACOL would continue to pursue its case against the former governor.
He said, “We are concluding plans to take the EFCC and the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission to court. We will file an order of mandamus to compel them to investigate Fashola if they have not investigated him. They should make their findings public and ensure that they prosecute him depending on the outcome of their investigation.”
Adeniran, however, said his organisation was not sure of getting justice because anti-graft agencies usually look at the body language of the President before acting. He said Buhari was not as incorruptible as he was being branded because he appointed some people with corruption cases.
He said, “We do not think the system has changed. It is just the regime that changed from one party to the other. Power has changed from one corrupt administration to another.”

Politics › Re: My Abductors Wanted To Kill Me — Falae by JuicyStar: 8:25pm On Oct 18, 2015 |
FreeGlobe: A former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Chief Olu Falae, has said his abductors aimed at killing him on the day he was kidnapped on his farm at Ilado Village, Akure-North Local Government Area of Ondo State.
He explained that the kidnappers first aimed at killing him by shooting at his vehicle when they stormed his farm, because they thought he was inside the car.
Falae stated this on Friday at his Akure residence while playing host to members of the Oodua Peoples Congress, led by Gani Adams.
Recounting his ordeal to the visitors, the elder statesman said, “They were not after money alone; they wanted to eliminate me by shooting my car, thinking I was inside the car.
“They later walked into my office with their sharp knives and cutlasses and started cutting me with machete before taking me into the bush. We trekked from Akure to Owo, following bush paths and swampy areas on my bare legs till we got to an area close to Ifon in Ose Local Government Area.”
Sympathising with the former presidential candidate of the Alliance for Democracy, Adams said if a national figure like Falae could be dealt with in that manner, such a treatment could be meted to the younger generation also.
He said, “It is an insult that such a revered elder statesman can be so harassed in his own land. He is not just an elder, he had been secretary to the Federal Government, finance minister, permanent secretary and presidential candidate. If he could be kept for four days what then can happen to ordinary citizens?”
Adams restated his stand that President Muhammadu Buhari should implement all the 633 recommendations contained in the report of the 2014 National Conference which addressed security, and other important sectors that can move the country forward.

The recent abduction of one of the foremost Yoruba leaders and ex-Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Chief Olu Falae, by suspected Fulani herdsmen took a turn for the worse on Thursday as prominent leaders threatened secession from the entity called Nigeria.
Their grouse ranges from the abduction of Falae and the wanton destruction of his farmland to the need for a serious restructuring of Nigeria to reflect true federalism.
“If we do not see any step in this direction within a reasonable time, the Yoruba may reconsider their place in a union that cannot protect them and would not allow them to protect themselves and use all legitimate and peaceful means to attain self-determination,” part of the communiqué issued at the end of the meetings said.

You spent sleepless nights just to analyze every goal you conceded, even if there was nothing you could do to save them. You played through injuries, pains and fatigue. You took the bullets of unjust criticisms, biased and false reporting/information, just to let peace reign.
You missed important family moments to honor national call-ups. Thank God for the opportunity/privilege to serve the nation. Thank God for the strength/skill to carry out your duties. Thank God for all the memories (good and bad). You leave as a hero. You bow out as a legend. Our children, grandchildren and future generations will hear and speak of your great deeds. God bless you my husband. God bless Nigeria." she wrote.

I was thinking like some other celebrity's wives she for don abuse Oliseh and the entire nigeria. I'm sure a part of her is angry about the way her husband was treated but she still showed respect for her country. Indeed your husband is a hero and u are a good Wife. Keep it up. |
Romance › Re: How Do I Politely Return Her Gifts? by JuicyStar: 2:31pm On Oct 08, 2015 |
ashmanpolo: This girl in my area was hanging out with my friends and then she started bitching on me. That she hates me. I like forming. "Everytime he's dressing like an Americana and he doesn't even greet people" That, what am I even feeling like sef?
"Why is he not with you guys today? I always see him here everyday, drinking Heineken and always Laughing out Loud with y'all" She told my friends as she feigned obsessed.
The next day my friends told me about all the swearing so I saw her some days later and greeted her first. The girl is quite pretty BUT not my Speck. I don't do 'yellow paw-paw'. I started the conversation this way: "Halo swit, my name's Ashman. You' so beautiful" The young girl started laughing. Every word I said was countered with laughter. "Are you laughing at me?" She stopped, whipped her face. Looked straight into my eyes and said:
"I'm laughing because you don't even know how long I've been trying to get your attention" whew!!! I was flattered. For once in my life I felt like the Emperor of Rome. BUT one thing was sure, I can't date this girl. No NEVER. We exchanged contacts and it's barely two weeks, she walked up to me and handed a parcel to me. "I got this for you"
I got home and opened it this morning. I swear, I saw a brand new Swatch wrist watch; Original Malizia Perfume and a foreign Pee-Jay. That girl must have spent an estimate of 30k. Right now I feel perplexed. I really don't need such gifts from a girl I can NEVER date. I mean NEVER and I also wouldn't want to be indebted to her.
'I know this kinda girls. If they fall in love, e don be for you na. They will remain in your life like Mount Zion that can never be moved. Love go taya you na'
How do I politely return her gifts. Thanks. Mature responses needed asap.
CC: Farano Lalasticlala Ishilove Two options: 1. Arrange her gifts and give it to her back. Effect: she will see u as childish or confused because u should have rejected it immediately she gave u. This option will need plenty explanation. 2. Go and get a gift for her and give it to her. Just say that "friendship is all about giving and sharing". This option wouldn't need too much explanation. All she will think is that u are indeed a big boy and she will keep dreaming of more "love" from u. It will take a while for her to get ur message. By the time she get the message, perfume for don finish. Note: the first option will bring immediate hate response from her; but the second will take a while for her to know that u indirectly paid her back her gift. She go still hate u sha. Choose one. Remember all die na die. |

Romance › Re: How Do I Handle A Stubborn Girlfriend? by JuicyStar: 7:57am On Oct 08, 2015 |
wasak: We started dating in 2011 after a year of asking her out. I just love her naturally not for anything. Admittedly, her stubbornness might be partly due to my over pampering at the initial stage of our relationship, I was naive but I think 4 years is actually a long time for the love to be balanced. At every point in time she claims she loves me more, but no evidence whatsoever to show for it. I don't want to venture into crazy things I've done for her, that's a story for another day. It appears she takes delight in frustrating me due to my simple nature, actually I can be stubborn too, but not with regards to relationship because I believe it's all about compromise. She's inconsiderate and selfish, always wants to have her way at all time even though I have to sacrifice my convenience for her umpteen times. I'm scared of settling down with a woman who'll finally kill me, I love her no doubt. But it appears love is not enough. Someone talk to me pls Wrong question. The right question is that "seeing that this lady is stubborn, am I crazy to still stay on with her?" I don't think u should stay in a relationship that is making u sad. If you come back here after marriage to make this complain, na delicious flogging u go get. Be wise. |

edpunter: Oliseh should be careful, there are ways you treat senior players in a team or else you will regret it, yes. I'm not there when the scuffle happened but I know Oliseh he's too rigid and he will make Enyeama look so stupid among other teammates. He's (Oliseh) insecure because he knows Enyeama is like a mini-god in the team so he wants to break his wings by looking for unnecessary faults. A wise leader will overlook what he went through and allow him to talk, I thought that's what they call freedom of speech. True. My blood been dey hot that time. The important thing be say make super eagles wake up. |
