You are doing a good job and you need not worry about how things are for you at the moment. We all have our time and season. Have you thought of your peers that are dead, uneducated..? You have prospects and you are not lazy. These are the things that count. Keep hustling and when its your time to shine, no force on earth, beneath or above it can stop you. As an extra tip, avoid going to places or being around people that make you feel this way. Jobs/Vacancies › Re: My Interview Experience by Juliearth(f): 2:00pm On Aug 16, 2021 |
Ellegacy: So I attended an interview this morning, I applied as a farm manager. It's for a big farm that also has an hotel. We were called to present ourselves at their hotel at 8am in the morning prompt.
I got their around 7:50am. I was ushered in by the security. I have to say, it's an A+ hotel. Exquisite, full of luxery. I met people who came for the interview at their open bar. We were up to 20 in number.
I won't say I did not get intimidated. I mean their are young guys at the hotel, swimming, playing basketball, working out at the gym and they're all young. Like under 30. I'm the youngest out of the applicant I saw on seat btw.
The interview did not start until around 10am. We were kept sitted at the open bar doing nothing. The sun was out today so it wasn't pleasant sitting down at all.
It eventually got to my turn around 12:30pm. Yeah, it means I won't catch my beloveth man united at their first game of the season. Gosh! I came in, and the young chubby beautiful lady helping the elderly man conducting the interview codely signaled me to greet. Gosh, were are my manners.
I said "well done sir".
I'll refer him to as the Man henceforth.
The Man said what do I mean by 'well done sir'. Still standing I replied 'I saw that you're busy with works on your desk and I have to greet.'
He replied "Am I the one that gave him work to do that I have to say well done? Don't you know well done is after a work given has being done and the giver has to complement on a job well done? You don't say well done in an interview. It's only my boss that can tell me well done. I know you don't know that, but now you know. Next time say Good Afternoon. You can have your seat"
When did well done become an insult??
Of the many interview questions that I was asked and I couldn't answer perfectly, one comes to mind.
I was asked to talked about what I know about Palm Kannel. I said we could get a lot from Palm kanel, we could make Palm oil from the kanel, and the by product of the kanel can be meshed and used as fuel and stuff like that
"Stuff like that?" The Man said. "Stuff like that " "Are you a Yahoo boy"? "No" I replied. (I'm just 27 btw, I have a forever young look). "Stuff like that? You don't say that in an interview. It's grammatically correct, but it's wrong to say in an interview. Who are you? You just say stuff like that?"
I felt I committed a war crime to be tagged yahoo boy cos I said 'stuff like that in an interview'.
He said good day. Sorry about your ordeal. If the job is meant to be yours, you will be called. However, you must learn from this experience. "Weldone" is not a formal way of greeting your interviewer(s). Good morning, good afternoon or or good evening sound better. Also, "stuffs like" that was a turn off. I guess that came out involuntarily because the interviewer threw you off balance with the whole "weldome sir" lecture. Next time, no matter the reception that you receive, keep your cool and be confident! I wish you all the best |

Patrioticbreed9: I went shoping in lugbe mall today.when i was done i exited the mall, i got to where my car was parked lo and behold someone was parking directly at my back, i was about panicing because am in a rush sudenly the door of the car opened, i was relieved. I greeted the man and asked him to park well but he ignored and walked pass me to his back door and opened it for his daughters.I got pissed up and changed my tone. The man started insulting me calling all sort of names.fortunately his wife opened her door, i tried talking to her and the threatent to slap me if i did, in my age. His wife was begging him to drive away but he played deaf ears, i was still talking to me and he pushed me away like a trash! I felt humilated and lost it. I came close again and he tried to push me again but i seized his hands and lifted him up and hit him on the floor his family started begging me, his daughters knelt down and was begging me,i could see the fear in their eyes, people started rushing towards us. Always resist the urge to act in anger. Two wrongs do not make a right. Assuming the erring fellow died due to the "softlanding" you gave him, the narrative would have changed and all the blame penned on you. |

Sanchez01: This might be a bit difficult. The way out would be to own a credit card and not a debit card. Nigerian banks offer credit cards and everyone won't be safe until they all put debit cards behind them. You are absolutely right, but our sentiments with credit cards wont let us try that option. |

Mzflexydeeva: There should be a law that makes banks accountable for these scams Or rather a mid-way system for verifying all online transactions before they go through. E.g an OTP. My advise to people still remains this (amongst others though). Have two bank accounts. The first should be where your major funds are deposited. For this account, freeze it! Yes, freeze it! Freezing it would make it impossible for any form of online transaction or withdrawals. You can only withdraw over the counter and you know its impossible for scammers to infiltrate through this medium. Do not activate mobile or USSD banking for this account too. The second account should be where you deposit measly funds. That is funds that you would need for your day-to-day runs. Funds that you won't feel the heat once you lose them. For this account, you can activate online, USSD banking and the rest. |

Kacism: Banks are also liable with all these fraudulent activities. Let's just say the truth here. I mean in this era of bvn, kyc, nimc still banks do open accounts with only a phone number and a passport for whom, fraudsters obviously. I can't believe that is actually possible until I heard it here. Banks are aiding and abetting this guy's whether indirectly or otherwise through their loopholes which shouldn't be so. You are absolutely right! Its a deliberate ploy and that is why the process of recovering lost funds is met by nonchalance by the bankers and unnecessarily stressful. These people are criminals for Pete's sake. #Thinking out loud It won't be a bad idea to have a thread where victims of scams such as this one can lodge their complaints and well-meaning individuals like the gentleman that helped blacky and others can help in recovering it. |

doctor306: And what’s the probability that op’s case will be different ??
He’s about doing same thing they did and ur expecting a different result .
Getting married to a Nigerian girl is risk that should only be taken by a man that has accomplished 80% of his dreams and only have baby making left.
Our women deserve to be happy and enjoy to the fullest with no atom of suffering( their moto).why then should you tie them in marriage when you still have a possibility of suffering .
In conclusion make enough money then pick the next available woman to make babies for yu it doesn’t matter what she is cus they all were the same mess at a point in their life !!! Also, your fourth paragraph is flawed. There is nothing wrong in a couple starting from the scratch together (our parents did that, so why shouldnt we?). That brings about respect and understanding. Marriage is not a price you cash out on the finish line, it is an armour you acquire or wear in the course of your life journey. |

Let me reject this on op's behalf. Marriage is not a game of numbers or probability. Put in your best as a couple and see it flourish. The Devil has imbibed this fear and belief and that is why people go into it expecting it to fail and what you expect is what you get. Alot of couples go into marriages, expecting it to be a fairy tale, whereas in actual sense, it is a battle field. Not a battle field because either of the couple is a misfit, but because the devil has sworn a war against marriages. Now, its left for the couple to put on the full armour of God (read about what these armour are) and fight or relax and expect a miracle. A lot of failed marriages banked on the latter, hence why the marriages failed. Please put your right hand on your chest and say " my case is different! My marriage will last." |

Quick one pls, I really need the help or rather a piece of advice from whosoever has been in this shoe before...; Because it's really affecting my marital life negatively and that's why I'm here if I could get a cool counsel on this platform bikoo; as we all know that a problem shared is half solved... The question is "How May/Can I get rid of Marriage Phobia...?
I'm above 30 and I'm really scared of MARRIAGE... A candid advice from you guys will go along way... Hence, if you have had the experience before, kindly share with me how you go about it and overcame it....
Thanks# The sad tales we read on social media is enough to make everyone feel this way. However, you need to have the mindset that your case would be different. A marriage built on the precepts of God can and would stand the test of time. Thus, involve God all the way, have a positive mindset also. This is important because we attract what our minds breed. So if you believe that yours would fail, it would and vice-versa. All will be well! |

I actually don't want to say anything but i think this could help someone someday.
Here's something for anyone that might need it because scam here and there isn't a good thing and no one is really safe.
If you are scammed, do the following yourself, you don't need to ask anyone to help you do it.
Werepe, ewe dandan, sigidi kan, eyo atare 7, oruko or image of the thief or scammer.
Grand the werepe and the leaf, pour it onto the image, if you have only the name, write it in a white paper, pour the powder on it. Wrap with white and black thread. Now tie it to the chest of the sigidi. By 1am midnight, Put the atare into your mouth and start chewing and then say whatever you want God to do on the person and set it ablaze.
You'll get results within 72hrs inshaallah. Remind me never to offend you in this life oh. |

Janesouthall: I am not here to cast anyone... I am just very to drop my 2 cent opinion regarding this issue.
First of all... The money might not still be in the said account because as a scammer that he is he would have withdraw the amount instantly and hence no money will be in that account.
To the person saying that the money is still in the account that you need his number to call him to know more about recovering his money... That is a blunt lie because we both know there is no money in that account... You just want to try and collect more money from him as mobility funds etc...
To you femiblacky ...sorry for the scam you got your self in but if you are going to do anything.. Do it your self... Go to the bank.. Get police report etc and take it up ur self. Most people here will use this opportunity to claim saint in order to help you.. But deep down them self want scam you.
My 2 cent opinion... I come in peace!!! The individual helping the scammer, who clearly has links with the bank, just confirmed that the money is still in the account and it has been blacklisted, so what are you on about? I think we should be careful about how we throw aspersions so we don't discourage good people from helping and blocking other people's blessings. |

Pelaiye2703: Thank you for your swift response. I am presently working as a Town Planner (Higher Technical Officer) I intend to do the conversion for the sake of having a B.Tech due to the HND discrimination and go for a Masters's afterward. Hopefully, I would have more job experience after the completion of the two programs.
I'm still looking forward to your insight about this. I am 31 years old. If your partner has a BSc or an MSc, she can file in as the primary applicant. That way, you may not need to do the conversation but focus on acquiring skills that are in demand at Canada. Time is of the essence. You are already 31 and by the time you clock 35, you will lose certain points annually due to this age factor. Note that your CRS scores dips lower as you advance in age and by the time you clock 35, your surest bet would be PN or bagging an MSc/PhD and certifications to fill in the dip created by the age ish. |

I stand to be corrected. The Canadian rating system does not discriminate against HND. Already your ND would earn you points, coupled with your HND. But you know, the competition is stiff, so you can do a PGD and an MSc subsequently to boost your chances. Thus, you would do credential evaluation for your HND and MSc (that would cost you double the price to the tune of 164k). What's your area of specialty? |

Nifemy4: I am 31 year old , with a first degree in biochemistry , I don’t speak french neither do I have anyone in Canada . I tried applying for the Canada express entry but it seem like an uphill task , I haven’t written iETlS yet . But it seem like by forecast I may not be meeting the score for the selection .
Kindly advise , what additional certification can I add up to raise my projected score if all things been equal . thank you Get multiple Masters degree, that would increase your CRS. Acquire skills and certifications and that would set you aright in getting a PN (provincial nomination). Time is not on your side as you are already in your 30s, so you might want to do all of these before you turn 35. However, if your partner is skilled, you can make her the primary applicant, that would earn you more point. If you have a natural flare for languages, learn french and take TEF, that would earn you some points. Good luck! |
