The USA with over 340 million people and more than 20x the size of Nigeria has the equivalent of about 13 cabinet ministers. Yet, our dear Naija has over 40. Na we dey do ourselves. |
I don't know who advised you to put this statement out, but from what I have read, I can tell you are lying. If the visa came out 2 weeks before the expected delivery date, then it is extremely dangerous to fly. NO AIRLINE, because of the LIABILITY, will allow a woman to fly 2 weeks before she is due. Most airlines will not allow you to fly after 28-30 weeks of pregnancy. So it is either you lied to the airline or bribed somebody for them to allow her fly. Now, if she has to fly after the stated weeks for medical reasons, then her visa would have to be changed to a medical visa, not tourist. Unfortunately, if the immigration officer didn't allow you guys in at the port of entry, then legally you have not set foot into the country. So the child will NOT be a Canadian citizen. Having your wife fly 2 weeks before her EDD is extremely dangerous for her as a pregnant woman, but most especially the unborn child. Both could have lost their lives. Cabin pressure is nothing to joke with. I hope you learn your lesson. My final advice for you is to stop putting any statement in a public forum like Nigerians in Canada, etc. Get an immigration lawyer fast before your hearing. Tell the Canadian officials you want to speak to your lawyer. There are many NGOs who have lawyers to help in situations like these. Google them and call. DO NOT USE A LAWYER PROVIDED BY THE CANADIAN OFFICIALS. I wish you and your family all the best. |
The person I pity is your future wife. She will be marrying into wahala. You better be firm with setting your boundaries now. Show them that even if you are their younger brother, you are a man, and deserve some respect. If you don't do that, they will transfer this attitude to your future wife and it will ruin your marriage. A word is enough for the wise. |
BAT and his ilk have taken us back to political Era of 1999. This is sad. I Pity Nigerians. |
A disciplined woman who does not tolerate nonsense, but she can owe workers 4 month salary. Isn't that nonsense? After the 1st month of non payment, you should have asked for your money. Only on Nigeria do employers act like they are doing workers a favor by paying them their salary. No, if you put in the work, then you MUST be paid. Amaechi was right. Nigerians are the problem of Nigerians. How can any human being who claims to be mentally competent, continue to go to work for 4 months without getting paid? It makes absolutely no sense. |
I laugh at those mocking Atiku. Yes, he didn't win his case. Yes, he will not be president. What you all fail to understand is that, Atiku is already a made man. He's probably one of the richest Nigerians. He's a former Vice president. He's attained an height that almost all those mocking him would NEVER attain. You can mock all you want, but he is right. Nigerians are the ones who lost. |
This is one of the biggest problems Nigerians have. They always look at the messenger, instead of looking at the message. I don't care for Amaechi, and I have never liked him, but he is telling the truth. Our adaptability to bad situations has become our curse. Under no Nirmal circumstances should anyone be OK with what is going on in Nigeria. The economic situation of the average Nigerian is appalling. At least we are better than, or the same bad situation is happening is bigger countries. This has become our mantra. Instead of comparing the great things the bigger nations have over us and improve on it. Politicians send their kids abroad to school. They get medical treatment abroad. They save their money in US dollars or British pounds. And you all expect that they mean well for Nigerians. No way. This sad situation will continue until the people are ready for a better life. I have always said, leaders are a reflection of the people they lead. Our corrupt leaders are a reflection of the average Nigerian. I have lived in the US for over 10 years and became a US citizen some years back. And I have seen 1st hand how the rights of citizens are supposed to be protected. How government is supposed to make sure citizens are provided with the basic amenities expected to live a decent life. |
America has only 9..... with over 100 million more people and almost 20 times the size of Nigeria. We are wasteful in Nigeria. We should have 7 Supreme Court Justices. One from each geopolitical zone and then the CJN, making 7. |
As long as politicians keeps stealing in dollars. The dollars will forever gain on the naira. People who steal funds are scared to keep them in naira because they are easily traceable. So they buy up all the dollars, even in the black market and hide them. |
He is NOT the Ologbotsere. Don't address him as such. |
Don't let your village people deceive you. You better get on the plane and Japa to Canada. The only people who compare a job in Nigeria to a job in Canada are people who have not traveled to Canada or the USA before. The opportunities are endless. The same job the oil company wants to pay you $350 a month for, will pay you over $12k a month in Canada. Health benefits, sane society, etc. We are not even talking about the opportunity it presents for you to file for permanent resident cards for your family members. Which automatically puts them on the path to citizenship within 3 years. After you get the passport, you can now decide where you want to go. It opens up more opportunities. You can pretty much work anywhere in the world. When we advise people to japa. It is not just for the economic benefits, but also for safety. If ever there was a time for you to leave Naija immediately, you wouldn't have to wait for a visa. You can buy a ticket and fly back to Canada or any if the 175 countries the passport allows visa free. Also, if ever there was insecurity concerns in Naija, all you need to do is make it to a Canadian embassy or call them and they will send agents to come pick you up and fly you back to Canada. I experienced this first hand, in 2014. I went to Mexico with my wife for a 5 day all inclusive holiday. The resort we stayed in got hit by a storm out of nowhere. We got to the top of the building and was able to place a call to the US embassy in Mexico. In 4 hours a truck pulled up and lifted 107 of us, all US citizens and took us back to an airforce base. From there an American airlines plane arrived 2 hours later and flew us back to America. Remember, you and your family having dual citizenship is a great thing. Don't let anyone deceive you. Most of the politicians and their families have it. Most celebrities have it. |
If it is just the husband eating, then, no. If he comes with his friends, then they have to pay. I am sure most husbands wouldn't even want to go there all the time to eat. |
The right question here should be, the one BAT Submitted to INEC, was it produced by the approved vendor for CSU or did BAT get it from another source? If he did, then it can not be a certified copy or original. When approved 3rd party vendors who have a contract with a university to produce certificates for students and ex students produce any certificate, they have to notify the school, in this case CSU, that an ex student has requested for one. After that, they are given the go ahead after verification of student/ex student information. |
Reno and Fani Kayode are the same. Pay them enough and they will sing your praises. They dance to the tune if the highest bidder. |
Reno Omokri is acting like he is dealing with illiterate. I live and schooled n the USA. When you apply for a job as a citizen, green card holder, if the job requires a college degree, the company contacts the school and requests a copy of your transcripts. In the case of international students, which in this case BAT was, a copy of your degree is given to you. If you lose it, you must contact the school to give you a certified copy after a thorough verification process, of course. It is even harder to get if you send someone to get a certified copy on your behalf. Reno saying that you can go get a copy made from a 3rd party as long as you graduated from an institution is equivalent to saying you can go reprint your University degree from a 3rd party as long as you originally graduated from the said university, it doesn't make sense. Colleges giving a CERTIFIED COPY after you lose your original copy was set up so companies or government agencies are guaranteed of the authenticity of the document you are tendering for whatever purpose. It is very possible that BAT graduated from CSU, what is very clear is that the copy he presented to INEC was NOT issued by CSU. Even if you graduated from the said institution, as long as the certificate tendered to INEC was not issued or certified by CSU, by law BAT is guilty of forgery. If he was sure of his certificate, all he needed to do was to apply for a letter of identification from CSU confirming him as an ex student who graduated from the university and attach his transcripts to INEC, while informing INEC that he was awaiting a certified copy of his certificate from CSU. BAT campaigned for more than a year for the presidency. That fact that he didn't think to rectify this situation screams "see finish for Nigerians". I am sure he never thought Atiku would go this far or he never really planned on winning/contesting. One can even say he got comfortable with the Nigerian modus operandi of business as usual and was sure nothing was going to happen. |
May his soul rest in perfect peace. He was one of my favorite actors. |
I moved to America more than a decade ago, and I can tell you that it is almost impossible to make 100m naira at once abroad. At least l, not from just your salary alone. When I got to America, I got into tech after working a few years as an office manager for a rehab Healthcare clinic. When I got into tech, my first salary was $125k with a sign on bonus of $20k. I was not married then, so I was able to save more. A friend then advised me to trade stocks instead of letting my money sit in the bank and get only 1.5% interest in return for a year. I decided to trade stocks on the side while working full time. I got married and was making a decent amount on the side. One day, I fortunately caught on the GameStop boom a couple of years ago and made over $900k in one day as the stock skyrocket from just above $3 to $600 in 24hrs. The SEC had to put a hold on trading, but I had quickly sold. I took that money and invested it in real estate. Not many people are that fortunate. So, again , I say, if it is just salary, over time, you might be able to save up 100m naira, but you can NEVER do it at once. |
Of course The minister of Transport is a more powerful portfolio. I think the main reason the BAT administration gave Wike the FCT ministerial portfolio is to keep him close. Wike is someone that needs to be kept close to power to keep an eye on him and also make it easy to reach him if the need arises. I don't think the BAT administration fully trust him. A man who betrays his "brother" to appease you, can never be trusted. |
It is alo.ist impossible for corruption not to thrive as long as we continue this system of government. Also, the corruption we complained under Jonathan is nothing compared to what was done under Buhari. The last administration is a little bit lucky because Tinubu belongs to the same party and will need the northern block on his side to have a smooth government. 30 trillion naira borrowed is equivalent to about 75 billion US Dollars, and this is JUST money borrowed. Not including money generated. Crazy figures that can make a normal person run mad. I will always say it, when Nigerians are ready, they will demand good governance, but for now, they will get the leaders they deserve. |
Hello All, Are there any graphic designers in house? I need some to help me create a logo ASAP. Please respond. Thank you |
It's obvious an American compiled this list. |
He most definitely will be deported. One of the oath you take when you are approved for a green card is that you will stay out of felonious crimes such as robbery, rape, murder, fraud, impersonation, illegal possession of firearm, drugs, etc. If you commit any of these offenses, the first thing the court does once you are charged is to notify Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE) of your crime and they also notify your home embassy, in this case the Nigerian embassy closest to the court jurisdiction. Once the offender is sentenced, ICE keeps a track of ylthe court case. Immediately the sentence is served, ICE will proceed to arrest the individual and put them up for deportation proceedings in from of an Immigration judge. Once the deportation is approved, the person will be on the next flight to Naija. Nigerians dint listen. Money is not running away. Get your blue passport first. Once you have it, at least you are sure that if anything happens, you will not be deported. Any document other than a blue passport, will most likely lead to deportation. |
Waste of land. They can build only a couple of High rise building and it would accommodate the same number of people in less than 10 acres. Instead, they prefer to build single bungalows and use up thousands of acres. There is no sense of urban planning at all. |
Anyone from Edo knows the origin of their issue. It is the turn of Edo central to be governor. Shuaibu wants to be governor after Obaseki. The only problem is that Shuaibu is from Edo north, and after Oshio (edo north) and Obaseki (edo south), the next zone to be governor is Edo central. The governor is only sticking to the rotation of power to avoid chaos in the state. So anyone accusing the governor of betrayal does not know Edo politics. |
This analogy doesn't make sense. All you have to do is look at the currency count for the countries versus the US dollar. 442 Ghanaian cedis to $40 vs 30,000 Nigerian naira to $38. It shows our currency is useless if we have to change 30,000 naira to 1 us dollar, and Ghanians only have to change 442 cedis. If our currency was good, then a reasonable exchange rate would be 300 naira to $40. At that point, we would be paying way more for gas. Only reason it feels like we are paying less is because of it takes more of our currency to convert to dollar than the cedis. When we are able to increase the value of the naira, to compare to cedis, then we can come back and do this analogy. |
So, if your Nigerian passport expires, you are no longer a Nigerian citizen? Naija suppose get their own show for Netflix. |
It would have been better for a thousand of those so called drug dealers to escape than for this innocent child to die. I hope God Almighty grants the family the fortitude to bear this loss. I am heartbroken for them. |
Saying Kanu was "arrested" in Kenya is naive. He was kidnapped and brought back to Nigeria secretly. In the case of Simon Ekpa, he is a Finnish citizen. There is no record of him having a current Nigerian passport. He renounced his Nigerian citizenship when he pledged allegiance to Finland. That being said, the Federal government will have to parlay with their Finnish counterparts to see if they can bring charges against Ekpa, go through the courts in Finland and if he is found culpable, apply for Extradition. There is no other way. The only reason they were able to get Kanu, even though he had a British passport, was because Kanu was still traveling and they lured him to Kenya where the FG of Nigeria had planned with their Kenyan counterparts to seize him. I wish they can get Ekpa too. You cannot be in the safety of another country and be causing mayhem in another. |

The picture at the bottom is not a recent one. That pic is about 15 years old. Both look older than that now. |
What about the part of the that says women shouldn't teach/preach and hold silence in public. Now that women are preachers and teachers, does that modernisation not bother you, or are you only bothered by the ones you are uncomfortable with? |
I am glad she's based in the USA. I hope she keeps this same energy when Davido sues her for Defamation of Character. She's a stupid fellow. In the beginning what she was saying were things she had proof of and it made sense. Now she's writing and saying things she definitely can't prove. It is obvious a 3rd party is feeding her junk information and she's going with. |
