My dear friends. Please remember we are brother's and sisters. What ever you do, do not breach security. Let us not allow the political outcome destroy our relationships with each other, whether on this platform or on the streets. Let us ensure peacefull and amiable human relations and coexistence now, after the winner is declared and even during and after legal redress or judgement if any. Nigeria is a very volatile environment. For those angry with the results of the elections or irregularities thereof, pls chanel your dissatisfaction by approaching the electoral tribunals or courts as the case may be. I will personally caution against any form of protest. Nothing good will come out of it, however well intentioned. It will lead to unintended consequences. Don't waste your life. Let us not forget about the EndSARS disaster. Personally, I suspect this election due to the observed irregularities could be upturned by the court. The last may not have been heard of this election. I foresee lots of drama, twists and turns. In any case, Pls let's all be very carefully with our words and actions this season, don't forget Ruanda, things are tensed as it is. We have no other home than Nigeria. It is only if you are alive that you can fight another day, or live to see a better country. Let's follow due process. Thank you |
tk4radi:Intelligent perspectives like yours stated above is why I still believe nairaland is worth the visit from time to time. |
onlinediva:As a general rule, I think both are important. However, the answer may depend on the apraoch to the question. Let's say Mr. A wants to buy a car, and he happens to be more concerned with the aesthetics than anything else, then, if given the option, he may likely consider the body of the car more important than the engine. Or let's say the Mr. B has a budget he wants to spend on buying a car, confronted with the question of which is more important, he may simply do a mathematical calculation that for instance will consider in between the body and the engine of a car in question, which one will he likely spend less in order maintain in the long or short run as the case may be. Which one will he likely for example, spend less on in order to repair if in the particular instance he has to choose between a bad/fairly good/excellent, etc of the body or the engine of a car in question. What will determine importance here for Mr. B is money/finance. In the two examples above, the response will have to be a subjective one because the persons involved are goin to give answers relative to their own unique circumstance. But when the question is viewed from a somewhat objective standpoint, the apraoch in my opinion may have to change. A car is basically meant to convey you from point A to point B. What enable this to become a reality is substancilly (remember I say substancialy), the engine of the car. So in my opinion, if a care can take you from point A to B, it has fulfilled a basic function of what a car should do or what makes it to be ascribed that basic identifier as a motor vehicle. Other aesthetics encompassed in the body of the car like convinience, beauty or desighn of the car, colour, etc, are substancialy atributes in making the experience of moving from point A to B more pleasurable, convinient, prestigious etc. In the end, a car is a complicated machine with parts (body, engine, etc), that work together to make the car move forward from point A to B and provide pleasures and convenience for the driver while doing so. In summary therefore, in my opinion, while both are important, from an objective standpoint, the engine is more important than the body. The engine is the heart of a vehicle. Hope the lecture is not too long. It's a very interesting question though. Makes you realize that sometimes there is no absolute YES or NO answers. Thanks. |
Hardcore11:What is the nature of the title document as regards the land in question?. E.g Letter of Allocation, C of O, customary etc., Do you have a photocopy, scan pdf etc? I think what you intend is possible. |
Failure44:In any meaningfully relationship, parties are not to expect 100 percent perfection, or that your partner will possese every thing you ever desired. Thank God you did not say she was of bad character or moraly depraved, these are things that can hardly be corrected. She is just a bad cook. Don't get me wrong, I know its an issue you should not pretend over. However, it is a defect that with determination both of you can fix. I am sure with a good catering training, both formal and informal, this challenge can be sumounted. Even if she can't cook as good as you want. Same can be said of the apsence of things in a partners life like education, taste, exposure, level of enlightenment etc. They can all be learnt. But when a lady is moraly compromised, I don't care how beutifull, or how good her cooking is. If she is moraly/spiritually okay, compatible with you mentally and even beautifully to your taste as you have said, my brother, anything else na 'jara'. Work on what needs to be worked on that is all. Thanks. |
@help2022 I don't know about this conditional pass you are referring to and since we don't know all, I will be interested if you show me the law where such was abolished, and I say this not to spite what you have said here. This is necessary so we can all scrutinize and see if that is applicabe in this situation. To the best of my knowledge, before, during and after we left the law School, it has always been the case that you pass all before you can be said to have passed and ready for the Call to Bar. But I think youre focus is wrong in light of this situation with your brother. Your brother is depressed. But this is life. Let's even thank God that in his own case, he failed just one subject. I know of people during our time who could not pass even up to 3 times. But today, they are lawyers after they finally passed. This is life. I know that for him in this case, his mates will become his seniors at the bar, and so what?, that is life. Do you know in my own case at the university, no carry over etc, but when it was time to go to the Law School, some of us could not get forms and so our mates became our seniors at the bar. Such is life. Your brother should not get depressed with this, you should encourage him. That some one is your senior at the bar does not mean he will be ahead of you in life or even in the profession itself. Again, let's thank God it was just one subject. So let him get over it and prepare for the exame, by the Grace of God, he will make it. Thanks. |

Mine is politics and governance. That ability to profer public interest solutions to national challenges. I am even in the game right now. Some persons were very impressed with my ideas for Kogi State and even Nigeria in general. Finance though has been a challenge. It is worse in a society like ours where people, especially in this season, do not value forward thinking ideas. Anyway, regardless of the opstacles, I pray God grants us the grace to fullfill our passion, including cooking. @ Rozross, I am curious, what is your passion?. |
Jesusviper:To the best of my knowledge, I think the school is okay. Since it was actually what she wanted, and what you people had already planned, I think it will be worth it. I just pictured myself in her shoes and can feel the excitement already. It will also be a good lesson for her to learn that sometimes things don't work out exactly as planned but, your desire will come to you. If it will be possible to get back the money paid, that would be great. You may even want to work things out with the school if possible, for the money to be used as school fees for a parent yet to pay. The school will have nothing to loose in that circumstance. But before you abandone or inform the School where you have already paid school fees of any change of plans, pls make sure your daughter is already fully admitted. Not just offer of admission. I mean she must of done all necessary medicals ( if any), and you have paid whatever has to be paid, and she, FULLY ADMITED. I Wish her success, more grace and more winns. |
apolonius:Nago, I have downloaded the full list from the INEC website. |
uncleinans:Yes thanks, I just modified my statement. |
fergie001:fergie001, okey. INEC has just uploaded the full list on their website. But thank you all the same. |

@ fergie001, pls can you put link to the full list which includes Senate and House of Reps for all states?. Thank you. |
Rozross:Good Morning. Just Checking up on you again. |
Rozross:Do you know I even left you a Birth Day message last year in that mail. Didn't even know you no longer had access if not now that you mentioned it few conversations ago. Anyway, I think you know exactly what I want. So can you pls respond to the DM request so we conclude with the conversations we had with your previous account and mail?. |
Rozross:@ Rozross, Thread Opened for discussion on the way forward on outstanding issues. Seriously, you need to attend to. |
mariahAngel:Okey, it's actually popular in the north. 1. Get 4 cups of rice 2. 6 cups of groundnut. 3. About 10 lime balls ( not lemon oh!) 4. Suger as you may deem necessary for you. PROCEEDURE. 1. Frie the groundnut, but not completely fried. Just enough to remove that outer layer as you weould have done after frieing groundnut to blow away that layer. Infact, it is even okey if you could remove the outer layer without even frieing the groundnut such as when may be you live it under the sun and then pill off the outer layer. Remember, the idea of frieing the groundnut is just to make it hot enough to remove that outer layer so the groundnut still even tasts raw. 2. Then you gring the groundnut the way you ground your egwisi, using that Hand grinder or any form of grinder for that matter. Just let it be very grinded as you would for egwisi. 3. When you are done with step 1 and 2 above, keep aside. The cut all your limes into 2 eqwal half, press to extract the juice into a cup, as you would do for oranges, but make sure you drain or use a spoon to remove the seeds. 4. Then move to the rice, per boil and wash just like you do your normal rice. However, for this, you would cook the rice to the point where it becomes very soft, not like the rice you use of Rice and Stew, but very soft. Make sure there is enough water. It should not be thick, but watery kind of. 5. Soak the grinded groundnut in a bowl of ordinary water, just as you soak corn/semo to be used in making tuwo. It should not be watery, but thick. Just enough water that can desolve the grounded groundnut more like a past. 6. Then pour this groundnut past in the boiling rice. Continue to turn/stire from time to time. The consistency here should be that it is not thich like Eba or Tuwo, but more like watery pap/ Akamu sort of. 7. After cooking for about 15 minutes, pour in the lime juice and continue to stire. At this stage, you would notice immediately you put the line, the product becomes thicker. 8. Continue to stir for about 10 minutes. Then add suger to taste and take out from the stove. Serve when a bit cold. OTHER THINGS TO NOTE. 1. YOU can make it as thick or as light as you may desire. But ideally, it should something as thick as pap and not like Tea. 2. Some people after soaking the groundnut, continue to drain for the milk just as you do soya beans milk. It is this milk, after removing the chaff that they now pour to the rice at the stage of pouring the groundnut past as I instructed. But it is better you pour everything ( the past) and get as much from what ever goo the groundnut has. 3. Sometimes, they use a soure substance called 'Samia', in Hausa, in place of lime. But it will make the Kwunu Geda brownish. Lime makes it very white and I think it's best. Besides, you are likely going to find line more readily available than the 'Samia'. So!, There you have it, Kwunu Geda. |
RepoMan007:You have not heard of or tasted kwunu Geda?. It is made with rice and grounded partially fridge groundnut. Very delicious too. |
Rozross:What main account are you talking about. I am not hiding anything. In any case, like I said, and have been saying even before you deactivated the Iya....Can you pls respond to the issues I have been raising, 60+ or not, 5 kids or not, main account (including imaginary ones) or not. Just respond. |
Rozross:What are you dooing this early. You are yet to still respond. Pls do, even if I know you are 60 + with five kids. |
@ newold, your situation is very critical and requires serious approach. Before I even recommend you go for prayers, let start by advicing you do the following. 1. Open up to your wife and explain to her clearly and openly your gambling addiction and how it is affecting your finance. 2. Make your wife the sole signatory to even your own account ( I am very serious here) where your salaries or income will be going to or even outrightly going to her directly. A simple mandate letter to the bank will take care of this. Make it for now, a 2 years mandate, in which case, for the next 2 years, your wife operates your account and handles all finances including any source of income accruing from your end 3. Destroy all ATM cards with you and do not open any account. Don't just filled your hands and say you are addicted. Take responsible actions. 4. Finally, as a family, pray together concerning this addiction and seek councelling from reliable people, spiritual and circular. May God have mercy on you and deliver you in Jesus Mighty name. AMEN. |
Rozross:Well, I am fine, and thanks for asking. And by the way, I doubt I would be asking for the requested information from you if I had 'wife and kids'. So I guess my respons to that question from you would be 'Not Applicable'. So, would you pls address the issues I have raised?, Thank you. |
Rozross:Hi!. Pls Have you seen the PM sent to you from me ( juri ) ?. |
Rozross:Yes, outstanding issues you were to get back to me on. It is unfortunate you no longer have access to the previous mail through which we had some conversations and I had even left some messages there. In any case, I have sent you a request to this your new User Name and it's from juri. Do well to reply so we can take up the conversations from their since things to be said can't be done here in public |
Hannania, very brilliant insight you have surgested. I have always believed that sooner than later, a thorough review of government owned universities administrative system by the Fed. Gov. is inevitable. I think you are very correct to say the present mode of administering the universities is not sustainable. In addition to what you have proposed, I would like to add that the Universities of Technology and the other universities may focus more in areas where the nation is seriously lacking. For example more focus in the area of science and technology ( which would include fields like the medical sciences, ICT, etc) as opposed to fields like the Arts and humanities. Not they the later is not relevant, but just that the ratio may be more in favour in areas of critical importance, say like a 70/30 ratio. Furthermore, I think this should be accompanied with guaranteed quality free education from Primary to Secondary. I must really commend your insight. Even if some may take the argument that this will lead to increased school fees, but if it can guarantee us the same standard and quality of education which drives Nigerians going abroad to school, paying huge sums of money controbuting to find foreighn universities, then it is at least a conversation worth having. At least, through a systematic process, e.g, say 10 % of students to be admitted in the other universities can be through scholarships provided for students with exceptional skills and competence from secondary schools. It appears it is an area you have longed researched or thought about to make such submission. I love to see and read more of such solutions to national challenges discussed in forums like this. Finally, like someone surgested, I don't really envy anyone taking over as president from this administration because this govt has really made a mess. I hope the incoming will help stabilize the situation and prevent further deterioration. More reason why we need competent leaders from all the political parties. I feel Peter Obi is a worthy choice for the Labour Party, just I feel like Osinbanjo would have been a worthy choice for the APC. Hope I did not write too much. Thank you |
Rozross:Are you who I think you are. If so, I believe there is an outstanding issue not yet addressed, pls check your previous email. Thanks. |
IyaTola:Will send you a nairaland message request from juri, then you respond to the message. |
Threesha:Wow!!. I appreciate you for this write up. I wish topics on nairaland are full of such instructive conversations not all the trash we see most of the time. Thank you. |
fergie001:Pls does anyone have the full list of other offices, i.e Senate and house of rep. |
