i also live in lagos yet i know NO ONE who is voting for GEJ. I guess I run in different circles to your people.

Compare your statement with that of Jason123, you will see that Lagos state's Presidential vote is split between PDP and ACN. I reside in Lagos too. Will fly in to vote. I will vote for Fashola for governor, then GEJ for president (Though still abit confused, but may be certainly GEJ. My relatives in Lagos are all voting for GEJ, and they are trying to convince me to vote for him).

timbuk two:
firstly, allow me to call you an . thanks.

as for your "analysis", if you really believe that gej is going to win kaduna, adamawa or ANY of the states in the south west then please think again.

and even though you've put all those lovely south south and south east states in big bold font still doesnt hide the fact that they at the bottom of the pile in terms of population figures. and in elections it's ALL ABOUT THE NUMBERS and unfortunately for gej (and I guess you) the population figures in the south south and south east have pretty rendered those regions unimportant in these elections. it is VERY feasible for buhari to get the required 25% in all the NE NW NC SW states + FCT (26 states) and not have to pick up a SINGLE vote in the SS or SE AND still win the election given the fact that he is going to CLEAN UP in the 2 out of the 3 most highly populated regions.

has this cleared things up for you? i hope it has.

as they say in your country: have a nice day.
You really think that there will be no threats, manipulations, intimidation, bribery to swing votes around? One would wonder how GEJ was able to defeat Atiku(Backed by ACF and IBB) in the North. Forget it, the numbers will flow in. It would have been the other way round if GEJ was totally hated and unpopular. He is loved and revered by a section of the country. This is the way it is, SS+SE+60% of SW+40% of the entire North.

do you not see this my brother,.,. GEJ has taken igbos position and now using ethnic politics against the people that wanted to vote for him before.

even i as a northerner was for jonathan before

Yeah, you are on point. My brother, Tribalism is breathing heavily in Nigeria. The East (As Shown by the adoption of GEJ by APGA and Ohanaeze) prefer Jonathan because he is atleast from the East. We all know that he is not going to deliver, but they really don't even care. They prefer power at all cost, and will vote blindly because they really feel that they have more chance of recognition if GEJ is there. Ijaws are like Cousins to Igbos. GEJ will also take the South South because he is from there. The rigging and intimidation that will be used on opponents will help him to win votes in the West and North.
I for one decided some days ago to vote for Buhari, but lo and behold, I met a Hausa man that argued and swore emotionally about the need to take power at all cost from the South of Nigeria, because power belongs to the North! It became clear to me that this is not all about the drive to ensure proper leadership. Going by the Man's rant, I should vote for GEJ. Power belongs to no group in Nigeria. I am going to prove that to my Hausa friend. His rant clearly shows that the North prefers to manipulate us and win to keep power in the zone for good. Na wa o.

On point. You know Nigerian politics very well. I was wondering how Buhari wants to do it. I wanted to vote for Buhari, but mhen the "believer" and "Infidel" saga has kept me on my toes. I prefer the country as it is now, than a country that will be taken for a ride on a path of definite destruction due to ethno-religious concerns. GEJ for President jo!
PoliticsRe: Buhari Has The "crowd" In 2011 Because The North Wants To Rule? True Or False? by Justcash(m): 12:58am On Mar 18, 2011
No doubt, it is part of it. Most Northerners see it as a means of winning back power that was taken from them by GEJ and OBJ. On the other hand, majority of Southern Nigerians wants to vote for him because they need change.
Ethnic politics is an integral part of Nigeria's politics. 60% of Nigerians will vote based on where their candidates are from. I am 100% sure that GEJ has taken the South-South and South East because he is Ijaw and an Easterner. Buhari and Ribadu cannot win much votes in those places. If he can carve out some 30% votes from the North and West, he'll win easily. It won't be that easy though because Buhari will take majority of the votes in the North, while Ribadu will take majority in the west.
May God help Nigeria.

the usual thing you do best. Sow discord to make your man win based on sentiments considering his qualities have failed to show.SO if i may ask i should just que up and vote GEJ?Is that all it will take to leave Buhari alone.
Same nonsense you made with your unintelligent assumption about Oct 1 bomb blast.Filling everyones thought with a grand northern conspiracy.Today God has shamed you more. How the facts keep coming out every now and then to link GEJ with the incident. From phone number,FG representative name, vehicles impounded with explosives designated for Abuja from the ND and GEJ defending them.recruiting suspects eg Dopkesi, soliciting reconciliation between GEJ and key suspects as assumed by you.namely IBB ciroma and co.
Now that Buhari is contesting with the same person.Your lets smare him campaign has changed focus abi.The same buhari defended GEJ countless times from others even in the north, you dare to call him fanatic. When the Northern elite(within PDP) said Buhari lets come sit and work against GEJ,he was the first respected northern leader who openly said the laws of the land supercede any political arrangement and GEj should not be stopped from running under any guise.Regional or religious. Then i know you kept qouting him to gain GEJ some credence.Buhari rejected the NPLF meeting or any sectional arrangement. He believes in a nation. If only his Islamic views were driving him,he would have being on that band wagon since. undecided
Buhari's treat in the north today is the same group that rejected GEj at first got bride by GEJ and now hate Buhari for his firm stance on the rights of people like GEJ.Tell me am lying.Who make GEJ support base within the north? govs and cabal.trade by barter.
The same Buhari that also refuse any arrangement that would not recognize GEJ.How hard is it to see that this fellow is straight and committed to the rule of law and the rights of all.Note he is aware of GEj a xtian and southern yet in the face of his northern folks choose to side with him.
For the GEJ resentment by some northerners blame PDP.GEJ and co,Only they know best.  huh huh huh Supported GEJ stance on elections and his choice for chairman.
Buhari also took the time to send an apology to the GEJ camp for the action of some unruly supporters. What else do you want from him.He is humble and realizes GEJ right to campaign unmolested,To run for president and to be voted in a free and fair election. If it is the will of the people sad
When will you grow up and stop peddling lies.Remember lying is bad. angry
The Northern support for buhari has always being there.Ask the northerners.Even the Christians in the north appreciate him.Except for the few who are buying the politically manipulated stories of PDP since Obj to discredit him.
Secondly don't be fooled.Buhari has no consideration for anyone who messes with the laws of the land.He is known to be law abiding.Meaning if today the laws are set to keep the balances he would respect them.
The disrespect for GEJ came from the issue of the zoning within PDP.Some people in the North feel cheated and treated badly in the case of zoning and even comments also being made by some southern elements. That is it.
It is not that the north supports him because of religion but his consideration of the masses.Personally as a northern it his qualities as told to me by my father and Uncle about his past government that make me respect him.
My mum christian still from the north like him but will always tell you that em,my pastor said we should not vote buhari because he will bring sharia and just support goodluck. If i may ask,if we today decide to identify ourslves by religion and vote by that will it be easy for GEJ to become president or any other christian.
Some people will vote for GEJ even in the north.Let me tell you between GEJ and Atiku?i will take GEJ any day anytime, between him and IBB same thing.ciroma,obj.That aside do we not have political fathers and Governors endorsing GEJ in the north.More than 80 % Muslims.
But between him and Buhari.i will go for Buhari.so its about choice.as much as alot of southern Christians want to make northern Muslims the enemy ,we can not say where they get the inspiration for such.Buharis quality is my reason for supporting him.People are tired of PDP and the continued cabal period. It is above GEJ and what is left of the PDP.
Change is required and i don't care.GEj lost me completely when he started lobbying the godfathers of Nigeria woos. That is my turn off with him i tell you and the bombing of independence day that Okah claims a poly is underway to blame northern elements. Why us!!! just to demonize us.When you want peoples support you must show them respect.
How has Buhari shown any to a Christian?tell me!
Cool answer. Like I said in the beginning, I bear no anti-Buhari sentiments. I'm a neutral observer. My Party is not presenting any candidate. APGA is supporting GEJ. But I am not really in support of him. I need to be sure that I won't vote for a worse person than GEJ. Ofcourse, If Buhari is a fundamentalist, I'll vote for GEJ instead. Thanks for your input.

I never liked the idea of federalism until a two months ago. We all have fundamental differences whether political, culturally or socially. I really do not blame the Northerners when they go on their annual killing spree because they NEVER wanted to be part of this union  and so did the yorubas. But Azikwe was a nationalist and he single handedly united the country which was good because together we stand, divided we fall.
Now the real issue was the removal of federalism. When that was done, it signaled the beginning of the end of Nigeria. We have to find a way to go back to federalism where everyone or group can control their wealth and resources. Where everyone or group can rule themselves instead of the silly zoning. Where everyone or group can grow at their pace et al. This federal republic structure is creating more enmity than cooperation. In fact, instead of the old 3 regions, we should have 6 regions. That way, most of our problems will be solved. Without federalism, this is just the beginning of something that is a lot worse.
I agree with you.

Agreed. But you and I know that if these attacks continue in all those cities, the military will get involved and we all know what will happen, don't we?? As I said earlier, forget the e-warriors, the truth is that no one wants war or riots but in a situation of sustained attacks, its bound to erupt soon. Anyway, if they attack lagos there people are also there so no biggie.
Exactly my point. These MEND guys don't even care about the safety and progress of their own people. They just blow places, not caring which people are there. which was why I said that it is more of a national threat than a threat to Yorubas.
Nigeria needs a con-federation or outright division.
The rant about "Attack on Yorubas" rather than "attack on Nigerians" is a pointer. It is an evidence of Deep rooted ethnic division. Wonder why we keep Trying to be  united when we can't be. Some people are already talking about carrying out Genocide on Ijaws because some MEND touts are planning to blow an oil facility. SMH

TewMuch:
They have also learnt something from MEND. They also now carry sophisticated weapons. Try it at your own peril, we will see who will lose more. Una sha get many Ijaw for Lagos, no be so? We go help them emancipate wella. Besides most of these militants have family and houses in Lekki, no bi so? But they pretend to be fighting for some ND they have probably not been t in years. Their people are not safe in Lagos, at their own risk.

This time has passed in Nigeria. No one will sit down and pray. This will be a fight to the finish. They cannot bomb Lagosian's, it will never go down well. Tell your brother's not to try it. OPC has warned them. Because OPC does not go around with bombs doesnt mean they do not have access to them or can get financier's to deal with those creek rats. Many rich people will contribute money because they definitely do not want to lose thier investments. ND is not Lagos. If they want to protest there are many pipelines in ND for them to blow up.
Lol! Rich men will donate money to OPC to do what? Go and bomb the creeks? LWKMD! Na today? Federal Government don bombard the creeks till dem tire. You are blabbing. You will not be able to do anything. Even sef, on sighting them, you will piss in your pants first.
If Mend is going to carry out any attack in Lagos, it will be carried out with the backing of Ondo Mend, Made up of Yorubas too. So leave ethnic issues out of this. Moreover, casualty may be recorded by almost every ethnic group just like it happened in ABJ. Na you get your mouth sha.

jason123:
Bro, you have to agree that MEND is provoking them. Lagos is the only self sustaining city in Nigeria and it does not derive its revenue from the so called Nigerdelta oil. Lagos has its own oil well and it also has the largest natural gas reserves in West Africa. So the agrument of Lagos getting its money from Nigerdelta oil is baseless.

Secondly, why can't MEND attack Abujahuh Why Lagos all the timehuh What about Portharcourt or other cities?? Why Lagos??
I am against their planned attack o. Don't get me wrong. I'm just saying that it can happen. They can do it and run back to the creeks. When it happens, the pain will be borne by Nigerians, and not only Yorubas. They do carry out attacks in PH and Abuja. They may only want to attack petrol facilities in Lagos sha, which I also think is not necessary. Considering that the guys are touts, they definitely dnt care much. They just want attention.
PoliticsRe: Mend Plans To Attack Lagos And Abuja by Justcash(m): 4:01pm On Mar 15, 2011
Like I said before people, MEND can attack Lagos, and nothing will happen. No be mend blow bomb during a whole 50 years anniversary in Abuja? What happened? They can even enter Lagos and blow parts of Lagos state, nothing will happen. Instead of threatening, pray and stay safe. Don't dare them to do it, because they will do it o! OPC cannot chase them to the creeks to ND. Lagos state government no go even allow OPC to near oil pipeline, not to talk of blowing em because they benefit from the same oil without feeling the devastation that the ND experiences.

I don't get your logic, you say GEJ is a good man in a bad party; so you want a bad man from a good party? Cos I don't see any other good men outside of GEJ and Ribadu.
Please make your point clear.
I am saying that PDP has failed Nigerians. We need a change in leadership to experience some progress. Ribadu and Buhari are new and capable hands. We cannot vote for a party that has failed us because of one man who they are presenting. It makes no difference because GEJ will still do the wishes of PDP god-fathers. We need to test other parties and see what they have to offer. PDP got their chance, and they blew it. GEJ being a good man will not change that fact.
If an opposition party is voted in, it will create a healthy competition among parties, hence progress. Why PDP feels comfortable playing with the lives of Nigerians is because they feel that they are untouchable.
They need to be voted out, so that they can wake up to the reality of their failure. GEJ should not be an excuse to leave them to continue their merry go round.
