Katehasty: Hello Katehasty, If you are a mature applicant with vast work experience in health or a related field, go for something closely related. IF you are intending to switch your career at this time, especially with insufficient funds and weak financial demonstration, don't. You should consider dropping your profile so people can be able to accurately contribute to your post. If possible, get your sibling to up his funds likewise including your POF to justify that you are a gainful earner. If you can raise your tuition fees (pay it) and you can come in as a cosponsor, esp if you still have about CAD 10,000 as your sitting balance. You can also consider bringing your parents into the (co-)sponsorship picture if possible. You should consider: √ changing your program if it does not correlate with any of your justifiable experience. If it does, work on the prospect plan for the study, intent to study, the importance of the study aimed at expressing the genuineness as a temporary resident. It is good that many applicants try to justify the genuineness to study, but somehow in the process, lose focus to understand that the overall information of the essay is the determination adopted by the officer to conclude on the genuineness of an application. Remove emotion and apply critical logic, you will have a perfect essay that justifies your reason for wanting to study the program of choice in Canada. For the ease of justification, that is why a study that demonstrates progression is the way to go. √ Get your sponsor to up his funds to about CAD 30,000 after tuition and LE. √ Include your savings bank account statement. √ Pay part or full first-year tuition. giftedchild009: Hello Giftedchild009, I believe you are referring to PR (Permanent Resident) applications?! If correct, on some cases, some PR applications has been approved between 2 – 3 months, especially if it is without contradictions and verification can be easily conducted. On the norm, the estimated processing time falls between 6 months – 1 year. All skilled/economic immigration application goes through the EE route. Best of Luck 1 Like |

NorthernshoreTS: Hello NorthernshoreTS, Leave your daughter out of the application. After she has received her renewed US passport, she can travel with her mom upon approval. An ETA will be issued if travelling from the US or a visitor visa for those facilitating entry from a visa-required country. A visitor visa will be issued if staying for 6 months or a visitor record if longer. If a visitor record will be issued boils down to the officer's discretion at the POE. Best of Luck 1 Like |

omodunniolaiya: Hello Omodunniolaiya, IRCC sending a PFL does not mean they can not be faulted for an error if you are sure that the initial payment was not charged back if you paid yourself. The issue of chargeback might not be intentional, especially if a third party was used. It may be from the side of the transmitting bank. If you are not so sure or don't have full trust or confidence in the third party, make the payment again and attach the payment receipt and a concise and direct LOE to explain the situation as unintentional. Be careful not to say too much. Best of Luck |

Makhel: Hello Makhel, Why a Diploma and where you refused on the grounds of Purpose of Visit? If yes, consider changing your program to one that demonstrates progression and/or improve your study plan and ensure that it outlines your study prospects, impact, and benefits. You should have a valid admission letter before opening a GIC. Most of the banks will only open one if there is a valid admission letter. Best of Luck 1 Like |

gregoma: Hello Gregoma, Big congratulations on your spouse's approval. If she changes to HRM from outside Canada, she may not be allowed to board and will be required to reapply. If she is moving between schools to a different province, she is also required to notify IRCC. Failure to do so may impact the outcome of the PGWP. On a norm, if your permit expires, you are to reapply but the process will not be as stringent as the previous. Reach out to IRCC via a webform and/or email to explain the situation and inform them of your academic calendar and the implication attached (not able to travel) due to the date appended to your passport. Request for an extension coupled with the updated LOA. This is not a professional advice but only a suggestion that could help your spouse's situation. Your reasons should be persuasive. Eilenora: Hello Eilenora, Been a while. This is the recent norm IRCC has come with to tension applicants. I have indirectly witnessed up to 7 cases from people's submissions on my space on Quora. For some, it stayed up to 13 days before updating whilst some have exceeded a month. My advice was to request the GCMS notes to find out the entry status or comment on the biometrics update. There is a link to request it on my profile just in case it becomes necessary for you to do so. Despite the GcKey timeline not being updated by IRCC does not necessarily mean the biometrics has not to be acknowledged or received. A call through to IRCC will be faster to confirm or enquire on the status update of the biometrics. This is not an issue to be bothered about. Many applications got approvals even without the GcKey timeline changing. Stay safe and one love! 1 Like |

Bimdaqueen: Hello Bimdaqueen, You should consider restructuring your résumé to suit linear economic and voluntary activities. Given you have a certificate in education and exposure in social studies, sign language, and teaching experience; PGD in Autism & Behavioural Science in a College or Master in Education – Curriculum, Teaching, and Learning in University will be a progressive approach to reconnect your career progression after a family break from active professional duties. Since it's a Sister/Mother sponsorship, ensure to include your spouse's employment or economic information even though you are not including his financial records. You should likewise include yours too. If you have been out of work for a while; use the pandemic, research, voluntary activities, or any part-time engaging activities related to your prospective study. Ensure to supply adequate evidence. This time, try as much as possible to avoid lump sum deposits and if not, give sufficient justification for it and its provenance. Pay your full year's tuition, open a GIC for your LE or have it secured in your bank account. Demonstrate with proof that your family's well-being is not threatened by your foreign study. Keynotes: • Avoid lump sums • Pay your full tuition • Include your bank record(s) • Demonstrate an alternative source of income (optional) • Close up any study gap(s) • Use the SOP to explain your study intent, prospects, the benefit of the study, etc. • Use the LOE to address the refusal ground(s) n.b. If you have no clue on how to go about writing a construct SOP/LOE or vetting your study plan, check my profile signature for information on how to seek adequate assistance. Best of Luck 5 Likes |

GbemiBukk: Hello GbemiBukk, Wait for your application to be finalized, but there is no harm if you decide to notify IRCC. Reasons are: • The study permit process is not the same as the Express Entry where failure to notify IRCC of an addition of a new family member may have several consequences. • It may further prolong your application but you will receive a congratulatory message and you may be asked if you intend to travel with your child, especially if you declare this intent in your notification message. • You will be required to prove more POF and demonstrate how you intend to balance study and child care. Meaning you have to prove that you are a genuine student without immigration intent. • Your application may be sent into an active review to re-evaluate your new (application) situation to determine if you meet the eligibility requirements. If you have sent out enquiry webforms/emails, you should consider requesting your GCMS Notes. Link available on my profile signature. Best of Luck |

Fawaz12345: Hello Fawaz12345, I believe your query might have been answered before now, but my responses to some posts today contain some information that may apply to your situation. In brief, work on demonstrating a good economic establishment. This can be your employment, second source of income, investments, business or investment partnership, shares, Agriculture, etc. From your GCMS notes, the officer states Diploma, if it is, you should consider changing the program to a PGD. Big Congratulations to everybody that has been approved that are too numerous to mention. I wish you all greatness. For those that are still in the struggle to overcome, continue to stay determined. Your testimony will be louder. It is strongly advised not to be in haste to put in an application. Canada study application is moving towards the strict direction similar to Ireland study permit processing, especially relating to the financial demonstration. It is wise to pay your tuition fees even if it is not a critical requirement. Part-payment is good but paying the first-year tuition is better. Then demonstrate the second year in your account or as the case may be. Remember that paying it does not mean the application will be approved. It is to show the availability of the study funds. Simply showing it in your bank account is not enough. If you were refused based on "Personal Assets & Financial Status" and "Family Ties" and "Insufficient funds to pay tuition and transportation" and/or "Purpose of Visit," try to pay your tuition. If you paid only the deposit fees before, this time, pay the first or one year tuition. The same for those who paid only the first-semester tuition should pay one year before reapplying. In as much as 4 - 6 months bank statement is accepted, 1-year helps the officer critically trace and assess the history of your inflows to determine the level of economic establishment. Lastly, avoid trying to tell the officer too much information and give only what is relevant to your application and nothing else. Remember, your application is unique and should be submitted so. Best of luck guys! 17 Likes |

larryrichie: Hello Larryrichie, Put IOM on the search bar on the upper page of the thread. If your application has stayed more than the processing time, send a webform and/or email even if you will get a generic response. You have nothing to lose. You can as well request your GCMS notes to help you understand what is ongoing with your application or the processing stage it is or if the officer needs some clarification or updated information. If you have no idea where to request it, check the signature area on my profile for the link. Best of Luck |

giftedchild009: Hello Giftedchild009, Despite payment of tuition is not a prerequisite for possible approval, subtly, it is beginning to be so. From my observations and research, some applications submitted with just a seat reservation deposit between late April to August got refused based on "Personal Assets & Financial Status" and/or "Insufficient Funds to pay tuition, transportation..." If you can demonstrate the C$30,000 after part or full tuition and LE, you will be at an advantage not only to demonstrate your financial strength but sufficiency and availability. Outside Quebec, you are required to demonstrate C$10,000 as LE. If you can provide a savings/personal account, there is no need to present a salary account because just like a businessperson that rarely has a good sitting balance in the corporate or company account, the same applies to an employee's salary account. However, if you are paid via your bank account and can provide payslips even if there is minimal sitting balance, feel free to include your salary account to demonstrate your source of income ONLY if your savings account has good inflows and a sitting balance. You can as well include only your payslips without your salary account to support the savings account. On frequent occasions, it is not by how much a person earns that gives better chances, however, it can be true to an extent. What is more important for improved chances is to adequately demonstrate that your source of income is reliable and you are economically established. If your savings account has no or justifiable lump sums and can show the history of your incomes and level of economic establishment that amounts to the available funds accumulated in your bank account, the officer will not place too much assessment (weight) on the salary amount being received. Though the officer considers employment lucrative if it fetches as high as C$1,200. Failure to convincingly demonstrate that an economic establishment is solid or reliable, then the low salary earnings becomes a problem. For me, I prefer that the fixed deposit or corporate account should be used as secondary proof of financial support whilst the savings account is primary. Lastly, Kwantlen Polytechnic University is a good university in BC but in terms of popularity with international students; Royal Roads and TRU are more popular. It is only recently that Vancouver Island University began gaining recognition amongst international students through its MBA program. Still, you should consider TRU. Best of Luck 6 Likes |

Filanodivine: Hello Filanodivine, International Business Management and Global Business Management are the same course of study and offer the same curriculum. Graduate Certificate and Post Baccalaureate Diploma are both postgraduate programs. The post-baccalaureate diploma is more like a bridging program for professionals or individuals with an alien academic background intending to switch or study a neutral course. It combines basic teaching and augments it with groundwork study essentials at the same level as the Graduate Diploma or Certificate. Given that you are coming from an alien background, a pure business course like Business Administrative Management would have been more suitable than an international or Global concentration in business management. Ontario and BC are populated provinces with expanded opportunities than most other provinces. Both are also expensive places and in general, they are both lovely locations to stay and study. TRU is a good university likewise Centennial is a good college, but in terms of curriculum and for the fact that it is a university, you may want to consider TRU. It is very possible and logical for you to be able to leverage the post-baccalaureate diploma as a bridging program to augment, consolidate or support your prior degree and knowledge.
