Sam Milla: i wonder hw long it wil take us to agree dat we need outside help. nothin is working here except stealing by politicians
I really hope this news is true and not one of those rumours, the US need to come quick before these religious militants and their supporter(anti-west) ruin Nigeria
btlasisi: I am ashamed of you. your ID does not even depict your personalty. I am sure u do not live in this country and that explains your comment.
Mention one county in the world in which America has carried out this type of operation that is at peace today and their security situation now is not worse than it was?
I do hope your family and other Innocent people families will not be mistakenly blown up in the process.
Don't be ashamed of me, be ashamed of yourself, the US is not coming to start any war, the war is on already, BH started it long ago, the Nigeria govt hasn't done anything to stop the killing. So get your mouth out from BH's backside and face the reality.
You can't negotiate with BH, Nigeria govt can't meet their demands, so they need to be hunted and killed as they have being killing thousands.
Dapto: @juswise.Well done o.Pls,i av a frnd who applied 4a visiting visa and was denied due 2 her low salary. Now,she wants to apply 4a student visa wit her M.Sc offer letter 4 Jan intake.Hop d earlier denial wont show her desperation of applying again and hence get denied again
If she met the requirements she will be given a visa, but she has to acknowledge the fact that she has been refused visa before when asked in that form.
Don't be surprised if you find out too late who is really financing BH for ulterior motives. The military industrial complex plays both sides of conflict to make war, and sell weapons, destroy nations and then rebuild them.
Eritrea: We can't supply Somali militants weapons NAIROBI, Kenya (AP) — Eritrea's ambassador to Kenya said Friday that there is no proof to back allegations that Eritrea supplied three planeloads of weapons to al-Qaida-linked militants in Somalia being pursued by the Kenyan army. Beyene Russom told The Associated Press that it would be impossible for the small, East Africa country to supply weapons because it is under a U.N. arms embargo and is being monitored by the U.S. government and the U.N. "We can't do that because it is a very complicated operation," Russom said. "We do not have the capacity to bring three planes in two days, crossing the airspace of Djibouti, crossing the Red Sea and entering the Indian Ocean and entering Somalia airspace, unloading and flying back in this highly militarized area."
sheyguy: For all celebrating and welcoming the US, be careful oh! US coming to Nigeria does not guarantee nothing but US interest, which i strongly believe is the oil. for all we know the US could be indirectly behind BH problem, or what do u think will make GEJ so confused and helpless about BH, all we keep hearing is some pple/suspects have been apprehended somewhere. they should be given limits cos i don't want full occupation like Iraq.
Of course they are!! The US is behind the bombing of UN building and other killings carried out by BH, US also sponsor al qaeda, that is why we need them to come and sort things out in Nigeria?
I personally suspect that Iran is supporting Boko Haram. The confisticated shippment of ammunition into Nigeria was from Iran. Boko Haram is probably abetted by Al Qaeda as well. The point is that events will go 'nuclear' once American troops are officially deployed on Nigerian soil. This is what the Nigerian sponsors of Boko Haram want , i.e super chaos, and I predicted all this precisely before the elections.
Under the ensuing chaos, they will then orchestrate an effort to topple the GEJ led Government. We forget how hawkish some "born to rule" folks are. Was IBB , pretending to be a democrat and changed man ideologically, not praising military coup only two years ago? GEJ may not be willing to confront the Nigerian sponsors of boko Haram but I doubt he will play into their hand this foolishly.
My point is. . . Boko Haram has caused more harm already and still going to do more, saying that US coming to Nigeria will cause more harm is not true cos Boko Haram has killed and killed even without US in Nigeria, going after Iran wouldn't stop Boko Haram from mass killing and we can't meet their demand of stop ''western'' education.
Lets not use the news of US coming to Nigeria as an avenue to push our ant-west campaign, the situation is bad already and there is no sign of it getting better.
Which oil is US coming to take? The oil in the hands of foreign companies already?
Gbawe: Which sovereign nation , these days, and with all that has transpired globally, would welcome America on it soil deployed against insurgency? The minute you 'invite' America to 'help' is the minute your Nation become the new arena to fight the "infidel imperialists" . You diasporan rabble rousers have the luxury of saying what you want but this move , in reality , will be bad for Nigeria. Boko Haram will get massive support , financial and human, from virtually every terrorist group opposed to the "imperialist" ways of the USA.
We can only imagine the potential chaos in a Nation pre-disposed poorly to confronting this type of problem because of how the basics , as per intelligence collation and adequate readiness for geurilla type warfare, are non-existent. How much success did the allies have in 'taming' Iraq or Afghanistan? I still doubt that GEJ will allow this to happen. He is not a good leader but I can't believe he is so myopic he won't see the problems this will throw up with how virtually all radical terrorists groups will then deem Nigeria , with majority muslim population according to statistics, as supportive of America's essentially "Christian crusade" ideology as popularised by George Bush Jr.
We have a large muslim population and , if this go down, it will be interpreted , even by moderate muslims, as GEJ inviting "the most anti-Islamic nation on earth" to "slaughter muslims in their own Nation".
Why not simply do what is best, easiest and far less destabilizing i.e go after the sponsors of Boko Haram you have told us are already identified to include a "former head of State"?
They are getting the support anyway even without US in Nigeria, who is training, financing and arming Boko Haram?
How many have they killed without US in Nigeria? Can we meet the demand of Boko Haram?
Kobojunkie: Easier in what sense? The US pays about as much as any other country for the barrels of oil it uses daily. The US being in Kuwait for well over a decade now has not helped provide em with Oil at a bargain. Companies like BP, Chevron, sell the oil at the same price to the US, whether it be from Nigeria or from some other country. So how does oil become EASIER to control when Nigeria, the country does not have that much control over the drilling and refining of it's oil?
I think we need to start seeing Nigeria as it truly is . . . for lack of a better analogy . . . imagine an ashe-wo that has been violated, and allowed herself to be used and dumped so many times. . . .Even the ones wey dey her house don trillion-dollar ra-pe am for 50 years straight. . . what is there to steal from her again? https://images-4.findicons.com/files/icons/1039/manto/128/cry.png
Africom was formerly based in Germany, yet Germany remains a Virgin compared to Nigeria. Refer to this thread if you want to know what I have always believed of the Africom deal . . . https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-137785.0.html GOD PLEASE FORGIVE ME FOR SAYING IT THIS WAY BUT I HAVE TO SO THESE FOLKS GET IT!!
Kobojunkie: Chevron, BP, Schlaumberger . . . . already companies based in the west and already drilling and processing oil in Nigeria. So how in the world will US steal your oil when you have had the west in your backyard since the beginning? And how does this equate to INVASION the US/WEST has been training and helping train your armed forces, and police since before your mothers and fathers even thought of you?
The US/WEST has been in Nigeria for decades. . . . long before your 'conspiracy theory' minds even developed, but now you want to turn this into some story about invasion? Those of you still deluding yourselves that there is still something out there left for the WEST to steal from you, I say you snap out of that delusion. They have touched it all and you are no longer special. You are no afghanistan or Iraq. Nigeria was opened up and sliced apart back before 1960's.
You are being too generous, why are you lecturing this people for free?
Bostin: I realy appreciates the A-Z infos, l was refused based on the mistakes of the Bank in giving them verification report of my Account. The embassy requested for 3 same students that used there bank together, but instead to give separate account balances they only gave my balance for 3 of us. Though l saw it in there letter send to the embassy which was mistakely put in my parcel which the bank told the embassy that the statements scan and mailled to them was blurred. NOTE: The embassy did not stamp our passport for refusals and ask us for Adm. review. We have got lawyer and also fired the bank, but the bank keep begging us and said they will re contact the embassy for us. Omo_Tier1,wat is our chance?
Don't take this the wrong way but i don't believe your story, don't waste your money in lawyers because you stand no chance.
You said 3 of you used the same ''agent'' and all got ur money from the same access bank account holder?
frakie: PLS, I WILL LIKE ANYONE IN THE HOUSE TO ADVICE ME, i have the new e, passport, but i want to do another one, i will like to add another name to my name, on the new passport , pls is it possible for me to get a new passport. the old one is still with me, not damage and not expired, i welcome all comment, except insutive ones, thanks
iyaore: Justwise I will reapply and try and show special family circumstances why they should go with me. Thank you and will keep you posted.
It might help if your hubby could write a letter in support of your application, stating that you have his consent in taking the kids to the UK as you have done previously. I really hope it works out.
iyaore: Thank you for your suggestions justwise and Muami.
Your suggestion for my husband to apply for a dependant visa and bring the children to Uk will be difficult to acheive. This is because we will need to start the 28 days money process all over again. I have less than 12 months to complete my programme and I have already spent 3 months out of the 12 in Nigeria. Going down that route will take another 2 months. Any other suggestions?
You don't have any family in Nigeria to keep the kids with? Putting them in private school in Nigeria?
muami: Just to add to whatever advice Justwise may have. Para 319H(f) was introduced to tackle child trafficking. By that paragraph, it is no longer possible for a parent of a child(ren) to apply for a dependant visa unless the other parent is already lawfully in the UK or is applying at the same time. In other words, as long as your husband is alive, you cannot get dependant visas for a children unless your husband applies at the same time with them. The only way around it is for your husband to apply together with the kids, bring them to you and then return to the states.
I hope this helps
You are absolutely right!, that was my finding as well, i must admit though that i knew nothing about that particular immigration rule until i the poster asked.
What you are about to read is REAL and from the horses mouth.
Long before my mother had me and my other siblings, she had a son for another man. This man went to the states and came back with a black American woman , thus the reason they had to separate. From what my mother told us, she fought the man and took him to court and made sure that he took his son with him and all this happen over 30 years ago.
After the son was taken to the states, my mother could not reach her son for 27 years and she wrote series of letter to the father to grant her access to her son but all to no avail. and the same search continued for 27years without success. Though as my mother later found out, the father received most of the letters but did not allow the son see them. We later found out that as the son grew to a certain age, he had a quarrel with his step mother who is the same black woman that the father came with to Nigeria years back and the woman told him that she was not his mother and that the mother was in Nigeria. The guy was heart broken and demanded that the father either take him to his mother or bring the mother to him but the man told a lie against my mum that she refused to marry him.
Years gone by, 27 years long separation from mother and child the search continued. Some how along the line, we got a fax number to the BINI association in the US and we contacted them and my mother stated her side of the story and how she has desperately been searching for her son for the past 27 years with no success. She gave the man's name and his home town. they BINI association in the US took it up and queried the father of my half brother. This was like a soil to his name, being a professor and the son now a medical doctor.
I on my own part kept searching the internet to see if I can get any traces of his email or phone number and to God be the glory, I found one which we used to contact him and he replied saying that he did not know what to say but promised to come to Nigeria for the first time since he left at the age of 6. He arrived Nigeria December 2004 AND IN 2005 we got a call that he was in Nigeria. My mother was over the moon and we all went to see him. Everything seem fine and we left thereafter.
He gave a phone number to my mum which she can use to reach him and after we left and he went back to the states, we called the same phone number and it would ring but nobody to pick the calls. I had to inform him through the email I found on the internet. we communicated through email from thereon and no phone calls from him. sometimes, I will call him he would pick and this could only happen after over 100 tries. I later found out that the number was his home phone number. Several request for his mobile number proved futile as he just didn't not want to give it out.
Anyway, we continued communicating via emails and most times, my mother will write to him requesting why he does not want to call her or ask how she is doing. This went on for over two years after his visit to Nigeria. Though it later occured to me that the guy felt we are just after his money. Despite that, I kept writing to him to let him know about my mother's health conditions which developed after falling in the bathroom. When she fell, we thought all was well till she started having difficulties to walk . We took her to series herbal homes for bone treatment and she also took drugs from hospital for the same cause.
I kept telling my half brother to do something for his mother before it was too late. I did not even know what made me utter such a statement but it was somewhat like a prophesy. My my mother could not walk for too long and we could barely do much since we lack the proper finance for this. After my OND, I was home in 2008 and I had the time to help massage my mother's back and if this is not done she could hardly walk. I kept asking my half brother for financial assistance to help put my mom in good shape but his reply would look as if he was interested and later, he would repeat questions he had asked before concerning the same issue. I pleaded, I beg and told him that I would be bothering him if I had the money to take care of my mother.
This went on till one day in 2008, December 2010, my mother started complaining of stomach pains. I believe this could be as a result of the medication should took but at that time there was no money to take her to the hospital. i could not tell my half brother because I knew that it was just going to be the same old story, because he had already nurtured the notion that we were just after his money.
My mother died after 3 days. I felt so much pain because she had a son that had all the capacity to save her life and he did not care.I know he feels that she did not raise him but how long can this go on I wondered. He kept demanding that we should build a relationship first but this same demand went on for over two years. The same person who demanded that we build a relationship never called he mother but once till she died.
After my mother's death, things got worse and even feeding became a problem. I remember drinking bowls of garri almost everyday and I kept believing that God will prevail. In 2009 me and my siblings kept our faith and we held on to each other. Our love for grew stronger as each day pass by. We had to leave the our house to look for a room and a palour which we could afford. I could not continue with my education. Even at that time, I still contacted my half brother for help. it took him almost forever to send me $250 and he warned me never to ask him for anything again.
I still wanted to go back to school and continue my education since I am the only one with that interest but there was no way to finance my education. I remember coming to Nairaland in 2009 to beg for this cause and got no response. I understand that it is not easy to just give money out like but I wanted to let you know how bad things were at that time. I did all sort menial jobs just to survive till 2010.
Frankly, it is good to be good to people even if they are not your brother or sister. I remember when I was doing my OND and I helped some of my friends with food and some with money. After our OND, some got jobs with Oil companies and believe it or not, this same people bought my admission form, they paid my school fees and I have just next year to round up my HND.
We went through all this but my half brother did not care to do anything about our situation. My dad is long dead. My question now is that being raised in the USA, does it mean that one has to become so heartless? I sent my half brother a text yesterday and saying hello. and he replied that he is fine and that it seem things are hard for us in Nigeria and that are we holding up ok? I had to tell him that we are not. I told him that after my mum's death, I stopped schooling as well as my younger sister. I told him that my friends are the ones who helped me got back to school. He did not reply ever since that time till now. I even told him that I currently dont have a place to stay since our house was destroyed by flood in 29th of September while I was writing my exam in school. I told him that I don't like complaining to him because I feel he always perceived the truth a lies, which is obvius in his attitude
I am the only one who still communicate with him but my elder brother and sister dont because they are somewhat not happy with him, including my younger sister.
About 3 weeks ago, I googled him and noticed that his salary is $350,000 but this same person could not do anything safe my mother's life.
Dear Nigerians in the USA, are Nigerians who grew up in the states this heartless?
How do you that he earns that much? He should have helped for sure, but maybe there were a lot of demands when he visited Nigeria and he is not used to that, that prompted him to change his number as soon as he got to USA.
iyaore: Justwise. The letter reads: , in order to qualify under this category both of your parents are required to be lawfuly present in the UK or at the same time be applying for entry clearance. This is unless your mother is your sole surviving parent or has had sole responsibility for your upbringing or if there is any other serious family or other considerations tht would make refusing your visa undesirable. There is no evidene to show that your fatjer in Nigeria is being admitted to the UK on the same occassion as you. Therfore I am not satisfed that you meet the requiremenst of paragraph 319H(f)i of HC395.
Did you check Paragraph 319H(f)i of the Immigration Rules HC395 before you applied? There seems to be some changes to that rule recently. Trying to get more info. . . .
iyaore: justwise I applied for a student visa and dependent visa for my children. My student visa was issued but my children's visas were denied because we do not satisfy Paragraph 319H(f)i of the Immigration Rules HC395. I am a returning UK student (I satrted my programme in 2006 and my children went to the UK with me. We only came back to Nigeria in 2011 to renew my student visa). I have one more year to finish my programme
At the time we applied in 2006 my husband was in Nigeria but he has now relocated to America.
I plan to reapply for my children but how do I satisfy the rules?
What was the exact word used in that refusal letter?
