I was at the BDHC today at lagos and i told them that i av a deadline for 2maro.i was let in and i was told to wait for like 3 hours and behold, I RECIEVED MY VISA.i will be flying 2maro morning.i pray i dont have immigration problem.p.s if u are under 20 years go with a matured person probably your mum or dad so that u can get proper attention. Time to go home and fix your countries. EU no be anybodys maternal home. See as everybody just dey here dey calculate how many years it will take to get a resident permit. Asians used to be in the same boat but have largely fixed their countries. Take your skills home and stop living on another mans benevolence. Time to go home.

Hello, Can I please follow up my questions of yesterday regarding my brother. Can I ask wether [b]Regulation 8 of the ECHR [/b]could be used in this case? My brother lives with us ( myself and my husband ) and has a record of considerable amount of social activities during his 3 years here, including giving unpaid entertainment at other nursing homes and to his own ethnic organisations. Is there any point in pursuing this line of appeal?

I think it's a bit too early to say the policies have failed - the work permit limits have just been applied, and the effects on student visas, bringing in dependants and so on will also take a while to be felt.

The changes around settlement affect those who went to the UK in 2011 - it will take at least 4-5 years to see if the setttlement numbers go down or not.

The issues surrounding detention centers and the like are quite separate and do not really account for the bulk of the immigration into the country.

The government is facing serious issues, but nevertheless if over a third of the population regard immigration as a serious concern it would be foolish not to address it. While not pleasant news for intending immigrants, from the perspective of a UK citizen, some of whom have been kicked out of jobs due to unscrupulous immigration (e.g. Indian companies flooding the UK with intercompany transfers), this is a necessary modification to protect their own interests.

I've always believe this proposal will only target Tier 2 migrants. I also don't expect this new rules to affect those already in the UK looking forward to settlement.

It's about time it happened. . . .the ability to settle permanently should not be automatic in any country.

As for Tier 1's arguments, the UK will not lose under this policy - if the skilled individuals are such that they still in demand then they will be allowed to remain permanently.

You cannot allow mass migration all in the name of getting skilled workers - the approach needs to be more targeted to meet the country's needs.

How is it an insult? Can the country not set its own terms for individuals to remain permanently? Even in the US or Canada you don't get permanent residence by simply spending a fixed number of years keeping your nose clean.

Best answer for this forum, is that applicants should verify this at the embassy and you can also use the website. A word is enough ---. Also if you know someone who has been to Canada lately on the same scheme, and he is not a scammer, you can ask him. As for Fred he succeeded because he employed "third party tactics and trust relationships". Suspect anyone trying to build such on this forum. I hope you know who am referring to!

I don't know how much you have collected from people either directly or indirectly, but I don't think you should be concerned if your hands are clean! Just focus! Don't loose your focus. The only way to prevent mass scaming is to be in the side of the rule of law and due process. Notice your last comment in which just now I have become an immigration agent from Canada!! You're out of focus on that one! As you will observe your suggestions are becoming hollow because you were only interested in your ego.
While someone was busy hiding himself from the law all Nairalanders heard from you was SCAM SCAM SCAM while those who were brought into the scheme on trust were fooled point-blank ignoring your comments!
Finally, I've heared this very line before "i'm not any agent, i haven't collected a penny from pple i helped, both here and off-nairaland"

Now I am very suspicious of you because these are the exact words of a scam and con artist that was arrested at the Murtala M. Int. Airport in 2004. What the people did not know was that he was busy sending mails to the same persons he was scamming, telling that them, that the employment/admission was a racket. In this way he collects useful info from them, which made him always to be ahead of the pack!! I want to believe this is not happening here.

Good luck still, only don't join the scam.

well the island is getting crowded thats a fact.  the UK it not much bigger that Denmark if even atall bigger, lazy to look it up now. and yet to get permanent resident alone in denmark you have to have legally resided for 9years prior to applying with the exception of dependant of eu citize. UK have been one of the generous so far i woudnt grumble now as they porpulation keeps surging. if it ever stands i know it wont be for long before they reverse it.
