Travel › Re: Justwise, Pls Help For Error In My Waec Result For Uk Admission by justwise(mod): 11:31am On Sep 27, 2011 |
Vicjustice: Mr. Swagger, observing the nature of the error, and expecting that every other document that you are presenting to support your application bears the correct version of your middle name, and considering that it is just the last letter of the name that has this issue, you should have not much of a problem to worry about. However, if you are concerned that the spelling might raised an issue, then, (like Justwise had recommended,) i'll suggest you go for affidavit. But if i were you, i won't be bothered by that, i'd go to the part of the application form that says: "Do you have any other information to give to support your application" and tick "YES" and then fill this note in: "Though, i have requested the WAEC authority to correct the error, but i wish to declare that the H that is misplaced for the N in my middle-name was an error on the side of the WAEC officials: the correct spelling is OSAYAMEN as my other documents suggest; therefore, i expect the letter error would be overlooked".
If the ECO deems that you merit an Entry Clearance, s/he is not going to refuse you the visa for reason of that single letter error, but if s/he has other reasons to refuse you the visa, then that's when other unnecessary reasons (like a coma instead of a full-stop) would be mentioned. I have to agree with u on that. |

mr swagger: Justwise, Thank you for your advise I appreciate dis a lot!! I would move straight to the waec office to get the original copy. But justwise I hope I won't have problem with getting a visa because of the sworn affidavit. Or do you know of anyone who has gotten a student visa with sworn affidavit where a mistake of name has been made, Affidavit is one of the ways to correct a mistake like this OR u get WAEC to issue u another result. You will not be refused a visa as long as u get affidavit and point out the mistake to the ECO. |

mr swagger: Hello justwise and everyone in the house, pls I need advice on what to do next. I'm about applying for admission into a uk university but there is an error in my name in my waec result. My surname is correctly spelt, my first name was also correctly spelt, But my middle name was spelt wrongly with just a letter error. My correct middle name is osayemen but it was wrongly written on my waec result as Osayemeh. I would like to know if an affidavit is going to settle everything. Should I go on to apply for admission and get a sworn affidavit to cover everything? Hope it won't affect my chances of getting a visa at the embassy.? Becos I don't want complications in my visa applications. Justwise nd everyone your advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Hope to hear from you soon. That is what you should do, WAEC wouldn't issue you another result any soon. |

It seems you guys are clueless of other travel agencies who are currently/silently defrauding Nigerians. I started a thread about Belvic Ventures here yet it wasn't taken as seriously as it should. I know 3 individuals who have fallen prey to this very Belvic at Opebi Ikeja. These people have not collected their money back till now since December 2009 and flimsy excuses have been given to them about TOEFl, Accra interview etc. What a world? Can't police go and trap this very scammer? No matter what we say here, some Nigerians will still look for a short cut, they will still pay 3times more to apply for visa that cost far less than what the agent is asking for. Its individual responsibility. |

ojdollars: @justwise , I supported the program from page 36 or so. I have seen this Thread for ages, but never bother to even check what was there, because first and foremost, I don't reside in Lagos and don't even participate in anything that has to do with draws or stuff like this. Even American visa lottery, I have never filled in once. I commented because of the way I see you insulting a lot of people, this good you think you doing with insulting people, I pray it doesn't turn into a nightmare for you. If you think you can insult everyone, then keep it up. No matter how you insult anyone, what will be done will be done and what is done is done. Try and respect others, as respect is reciprocal my brother. There are better ways to scold a child, with love and he will not get involve in the things you were suppose to hit him for. Not this way, I am not supporting scammers, but your insult is too much. Go through Collinsfbi post and you would see that your insult on posters is too much. Even Imperiousxx, jokingly detect scammer for everyone to see. Bros, no award for insulting people ooh, na only helping people nai award dey. I have outgrown this level with you now, I won't see your post where you insult anyone and comment again, but will try to help people verify source of anything the post on this travel section as I normally do. arsenefc: You can hurl as much insult on people because you live in the UK and you dont have to worry where your next meal would come up. But most of this people are desperate to survive and they would do anything to survive, involving falling prey to well planned scams. I remember when US visa lottery first came out, alot of people were skeptical. They all thought it was a scam and that no visa would be issued. Me and a few friends, were skeptical as well, but it turns out to be legit. The point is in Nigeria, it is very difficult to sometimes separate fact from fiction and people falling prey of shady scams shouldnt be derided for daring to trust their fellow human being. The only ediot I see here is the fella trying to exploit people's fears for his own personal gain. Believe me, as smart as you think you are, if you were in the shoes of the victims, with the type of hardship they have to endure on a daily basis, you will do the same thing. After all, in life, when it comes to survival, if you are not trying to cheat, you are not doing enough. You don't have a point, bankers, police officers and other pple with good jobs resigned because of this scam, do you categorized those pple as 'poor'? Comparing the US visa lottery to this. . . is laughable, you don't compare a program ran by a country like US to a wicked scam ran by a Nigerian criminal. Those 'victims' got what they deserved, Canadian embassy warned them, many were warned here in NL but cos some Nigerians enjoys beating the system and using back doors they got their fingers truly chopped-off. |

pendo89: WOW! How gullible can be people be? I have read the other thread and I cant believe people are desperate enough to ignore warnings. This is serious Its a national tragedy and you guys should declare a half day mourning period. Justwise, You deserve to be President men.You fought a lonely good fight, blew the trumpet early but people ignored you.You did your part. I have laughed going through that thread esp the 'leaving in batches' gosh were they supposed to leave as containerized cargo? Read and research.Have full info before you embark on such stuff. The embassy is there call them, If no answers call a another embassy in neighbouring country! this kind of ignorance is embarrasing for a nation as great as nigeria. This below was very funny from justwise If you really think that the Canadian embassy is going to issue 7 thousand Nigerians 2yrs work visa to travel to Canada then you are praying to a wrong God, pray that the a agent refund you the money. The agent will pay for your flight, accommodation and get u a job? Everyone of you who has given your money to that agent deserves to be conned. Getting a Canadian student or visiting visa is tough let alone 2yrs work visa, if its this easy to get 2yrs Canadian work visa then Nigeria will be almost empty by now.
How do u get ready to travel without visa? Scam of the year. But seriously I have no pity for these guys esp if any was a nlander. The writing was bold on the wall but you chose to believe in blind faith and throw away Godly wisdom. Lessons learned. Many of them paid more than 250k, some 500k, some were told by their pastors that the program is real, they all sew uniform, armed with fake medical report costing more than 50k each.
