Travel › How Nigerians Are Deceived With Fake Job Offers In Qatar (from Babaearly) by justwise(mod): 8:00am On Mar 22, 2011 |
A member here(Babaearly) sent me this article. As a Nigerian Professional resident in Doha, State of Qatar, I would like to draw the attention of the Federal Government of Nigeria, The Federal Ministry of External Affairs, and the National Assembly to the activities of some unscrupulous agents in Nigeria, with collaboration of some Nigerian elements in Doha offering Work Visa to unsuspecting Nigerians to work and live in Qatar. This practice has been on for some time but has recently reached a frightening dimension in the last few months. There are now many Nigerians living roughly, some in detention, many living in uncompleted buildings earmarked for demolition, as a result of a scam going on in Nigeria about Qatar Work visas. Qatar is a tiny emirate in the Middle East. It is a country rich in oil and gas resources which have fuelled the infrastructural and economic development of this Arabian Peninsula nation over the past decades. This economic boom has seen the migration of people from South East Asia, Europe, America and Africa to this small Gulf State. The local Qatari people are also friendly and receptive to foreigners of diverse languages, cultural and religious background. In anticipation of the influx of economic migrant to support the Nations growth, the government of the State of Qatar has an effective immigration system that has been designed to ensure that only legal immigrants are allowed to live and work in Qatar. While Work Visa as it’s currently being secured for Nigerians by Local Nigerian agents in Qatar and their collaborators in Nigeria grants you the right to live in Qatar, there is no job attached to this Visa. The impression given is that once you arrive in Qatar, Jobs are waiting for you as there are opportunities everywhere. This is not the truth as there are many Nigerians on the streets of Doha today seeking employment without headway for months and in some cases over a year. Some have returned home disappointed after borrowing money and selling properties to secure Qatar Work visa with high expectations of better life. They lived in harrowing conditions in slums and labour quarters before finding their way back to their motherland. The Agents, who procured the Visa disappeared and live these individuals to the mercy of friends and fellow Nigerians to assist to the best of their abilities. The saddening thing is that most of these unfortunate migrants left paid employment behind in Nigeria, to seek “greener pastures” as painted by this Work Visa Agents. |

i am now hearing that this un resolution that america and britain pushed for was obtained in breach of the UN charter: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chapter_VII_of_the_United_Nations_Charter Did the UN back the No-Fly zone action or not? |

KenGali: Oga, if you do not have anything to say, then say nothing! If the West have a right to hold back their banks, then indigenous Zimbabweans have a right to hold back their lands and no one should complain. Except that your white friends started the complaints and even tried to use the UN security council to impose sanctions. Who the hell told you that banks like IMF are just owned by the west. They may have the upper hand, but all organisations relating to the UNO are international properties and should not be deployed as personal tools, except this same abuse is the neo colonization so talked of Where have you heard that Zimbabwe was asking for charity, or did the sanction not clearly talk of loans. From denying the existence of economic sanctions to justifying them. My friend, I think am done with this discussion cause you are no longer sounding reasonable. Before u start ranting about the IMF go and check how much the Zimbabwe was/is owing the IMF and reasons why they were refused loan. When i talked abt the banks owned by the West i was refering to Barclays bank and not IMF. Zimbabwean prob is Mugabe-made, he was getting almost everything free, living on incentives from the West, education, health, etc untill he bite the same hand that has being feeding him then they turned their backs on him. We are so quick to blame the West when things gets tough. How come the AU did not come to his aid? |
Foreign Affairs › Re: African Union Demands 'immediate' Halt To Libya Attacks by justwise(m): 11:22pm On Mar 21, 2011 |
KenGali: I believe you are in a better position to answer that question since to you, preventing Zimbabwean Govt. from getting financial help from even our own African Development Bank does not constitute a Sanction against the Zimbabwean people and Zimbabwean Economy.
You can also explain how come Britain renegading on its pledge to compensate her lost and abandoned colonial workers and descendants in Zimbabwe does not smell of treachery to you! Mugabe said he can do without the West, so the banks mainly owned by the West operating in Zim got every right to refused him loan. They know he can't pay back, African bank is not a charity organisation, they can't give loan to a govt that has just destroyed her only main source of income. He doesn't need the West, so the sanctions shouldn't affect him. |

KenGali: At this rate, am sure you will be at loss as to why Nigeria initiated the indigenization policy after the independence, afterall all those foreigners had been in Nigeria for years and there businesses were legitimately registered. And you definitely have no problem being a black in a country where more than 90% of the productive resources where owned by a white minority of about 1% Have you even asked yourself the method the whites used in acquiring those land during colonization or you are just assuming they were legitimately acquired, that agrarian indigenous black communities willingly gave away their farm lands? On the other hand, the whites in South Africa had lived there for years, and were born in S.A, but how did that stop them from making themselves first class citizens and others second class? What made you think that the whites in nearby Zimbabwe did not copy similar supremacy tendency? The land redistribution would have been done without killing the white farmers and the farming business which is the back bone of their economy |
Foreign Affairs › Re: African Union Demands 'immediate' Halt To Libya Attacks by justwise(m): 11:02pm On Mar 21, 2011 |
KenGali: Here is one of the answers to your simple question! Judge for yourself the last coloured part of the definition below and explain to me how restricting the whole country from getting loans, even from African Development Bank, affects only Mugabe and His friends? That the US and Co. said it does not affect the people does not mean its true. Also note the fact that after the land seizures, the white farmers took to destroying their farms, etc, the finance restriction makes it difficult for the government to empower new black land owners to actually cultivate the land and produce. Some white farmers destroyed their equipment while the war vets destroyed the rest. Do u expect the white farmers to keep their quipments for Mubage thugs? The white farmers invested in those farmers, its their loan money and not the govt, why did the Zimbabwean govt finanace the black farmers? |
Foreign Affairs › Re: African Union Demands 'immediate' Halt To Libya Attacks by justwise(m): 10:21pm On Mar 21, 2011 |
KenGali: And you assume that by swallowing everything you hear you know what is going on. Mugabe was a friend of the west until he started his land redistribution. And for you information, your so called sanctions contributed to the death of the Zimbabwean economy. Who suffers from that? Mugabe? That land was at the heart of Zimbabean economy, the white farmers are Zimbabwean, many of them were born and raised in Zimbabwe, they lived all their lives in Zimbabwe, farming is their business, they contributed far more to the economy than black Zimbabweans. They are not foreigners, Mugabe played politics with the land reform cos many memebers of MDC are white. Black Zimbabweans work and live in those farms financec by white farmers. Zimbabwean economy went down after Mugabe threw white farmers out. Some of them are now in Nigeria doing well, some moved to Namibia, South Africa and other Southern African countries. |

Bastage: Which sanctions that target impoverished people?
The only sanctions in place are those that target individuals like Mugabe and his cronies. Don't mind him. Like i said b4, he know nothing about Zim |
Foreign Affairs › Re: African Union Demands 'immediate' Halt To Libya Attacks by justwise(m): 10:04pm On Mar 21, 2011 |
KenGali: Precisely my point man. That done was ensuring that Britain could not continue with threats of Sanctions that do not affect Mugabe, rather impoverish Zimbabweans just because Land was redistributed from White people. That ensured that the threat of MDC toeing the line of policy reversal just like the West wants does not follow. So do not tell me that I do not know what am saying, am saying exactly what you talked about! Its high time we all realize that Africans must be the ones to channel the solution to their political problems. And the target of those solutions need not be as stipulated by white men. China today is half a communist and half an open market, yet has taken the world by a storm! Where is it prescribed in the Western Governance guides? The Asian Tigers are providing Asian solutions, they have passed political issues, and are now talking economics. When will Africa start talking of the political? We can be as unconventional as we want after all we too are sovereigns. No u don't, u know little or nothing about Zimbabwe issue and land distribution. Mugabe is a killer like Gddafi, they were actually used to be very very close. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: African Union Demands 'immediate' Halt To Libya Attacks by justwise(m): 9:39pm On Mar 21, 2011 |
KenGali: Oga, its only people who do not believe in themselves that call what is duty bound impossible. Lets not take that mentality. I write here, but you and I do not know who reads it. So, its not really great for you to be making the negative comment, with out proffering a better approach.
It took former S.A presidents and Zimbabwean top Business Men to get the almighty Mugabe to accept to share government. That achieved two things! 1. Stopped britain dead in her tracks from imposing fresh sanctions on Zimbabwe via her influence in the UN Security Council 2. Brought in the opposition into government but still in a government that the west cannot control or reverse its land reform program. Right now we need to give an African Solution to Libyan Crisis, so that the West will not force down there solution on US. If it takes abducting Ghaddafi or even assasinating him. Its worth it, but thats on the extreme. You really know nothing about the power sharing in Zimbabwe. Mugabe's party is still the only power sharing power with themselves, the MDC is just figure head, they got no power, they can't operate openly, can't appear on TV let alot speak out, pls keep Zimabwe issue out of this |
Foreign Affairs › Re: African Union Demands 'immediate' Halt To Libya Attacks by justwise(m): 9:09pm On Mar 21, 2011 |
KenGali: To every one who is posting on this topic:* There is no doubt Ghaddafi messed up and gave the West the opportunity to hijack Libya * There is no doubt that Ghaddafi must not continue as the Leader of Libya, he has long overstayed his welcome But those three oil hungary countries cannot do it for us. If Shell could plant spies in Nigerian Government and co-operate with US to frustrate Yaradua's attempt to bring in Russia. Ask your self what will US, France and Britain and co. will not do in Libya whose oil reserves are greater than that of Nigeria.Look around the world, where has the military intervention of US, Britain and Co. brought a government truly representative of the people? Is it Iraq? Afghanistan? Congo? Sudan?Behind every international move, there are resource and economic issues involved. US had lobbied Nigeria and ECOWAS to go to Ivory Coast, but is in very eager to handle Libya. Why did they not deploy to Ivory Coast or are the people there not humans. No country spends her tax payers money intervening in conflicts where there is nothing to benefit her citizens. Greed is not just in Africa, white men can be greedy and evil too. Britain has been itching to bomb Libya. At eve of the first UN security council vote on Libya, Britain sent in a Destroyer, while she had already evacuated a lot of her citizens. That ship left libya under the guise of Evacuating Foreigners. Since when did Britain start sending ships to evacuate just any foreigner from crisis, points. These Troops should maintain the No-Fly Zone demanded but must not enter or Bombard Libya. Those troops must not set foot on Libyan soil. This is the time to move, Libyan people are vulnerable right now, the way to protect them is for the African Union to make Ghaddafi stand down, and institute an interim government led by the original civil protest movement in Libya. They must be fast enough to do this before the West does so and put in their stogies! Are you not surprised that a civil revolution that stayed completely civil in Tunisia, Egypt, Bharain, got to Libya and became a millitary rebel force? The original civil revolution leaders got push aside and got replaced by former Ghaddafi commanders! Africa is not militarily strong enough to contend with the West, but thank God today their are international rules that preclude millitary confrontation. Lets use our minds. We must not let Ghaddaffi continue to give resource hungry West the opportunity to neo-colonize Libya, We must also not allow the West the space to utilize this Opportunity given them by Ghaddaffi! Wishful thinking |

Amhatu: @justwise . For simplicity Gaddaffi and George Bush is responsible for killing people. George W. Bush killed over 1 million in Iraq, Gaddaffi killed ?(not 1 million) Although George Bush killed more people and expanded to kill people in wars expanded under the Uncivilized Security council Members such as Britian and USA. Sorry to say justwise but you are uncivilized and shortcited. In anycase the UN is besides the point. the Iraq catastrophe proves that and the current Japanese earthquake going on proves the UN is useless. In my opinion most of worlds resources for help should be helping Japan instead of 3 security council members launching weapons and dirting the air in Libya that will spread world wide. The current situation in the world that needs immediate attention is Japan. 12,000 or more people are missing .just shows how people like you (justwise) are really insane |
Foreign Affairs › Re: African Union Demands 'immediate' Halt To Libya Attacks by justwise(m): 8:36pm On Mar 21, 2011 |
Bastage: Amahatu.
The fact that Russia and China did not vote formally means that they were not for or against military action.
But what it really means is that they gave the green light for the No-Fly zone. If they didn't want it, they could easily said No.
You cannot compare Iraq. There was no UN vote giving the US permission to invade. In that case, they voted No. He doesn't read. |

Amhatu: @justwise , I am not going to play silly politics with you. Everyone who understand international law knows that it is the permanent members of the security council that make the decisions. Other Votes are a formality with no action. Second, interfering in the internal affairs of another country is illegal as you see Civilized Security Coucil Members Nations like Russia and China did not vote. Final, In anycase the UN is besides the point. the Iraq catastrophe proves that and the current Japanese earthquake going on proves the UN is useless. In my opinion most of worlds resources for help should be helping Japan instead of 3 security council memebers launching weapons and dirting the air in libya that will spread world wide. Amhatu: @justwise, UN resolutions can not past with out approval by some member countries Parliaments or legislative branches in regard to a particular country sending its citizens to war. THE UN is besides the point. Qaddafi always talking big and cannot defend his own territorial waters from foreign ships. Qaddafi invested 30 billion in USA, For What? 30 billion should have been for developing modern new age defense capabilities for Libya instead of giving the money to your enemy. Now the silly foriegn enemies of Qaddafi have stolen his 30 billion. What has happened in the past to Qaddafi by the same thieves.Qaddafi is a sad joke. Hope he reads his Holy Quaran more instead of being silly. In many ways Qaddafi iis like his enemies. ( Perhaps, i wonder they may be one in the same?) This resolution was voted for by many UN member countries. Bros runing a country is not the same as runing ur family. If u are a memeber of UN, you have to obey some certain rules, u can't keep behaving like area boy when u sign on to UN charter. |
