Justice2700: Good day @justwise and other gurus in the house, Biko I hope I get a response. My husband and I have had previous visa denials, which we declared and on my part as the main applicant (my husband is the dependant) the reason for my denial to the US (student visa) and schegen zone(tourist) was lack of documentation to show ties to my country. So for this Uk student visa I have decided to add documentation eg landed properties and family pictures to show ties to home. I just want to be sure it’s the right thing to do and won’t cause me more harm in my application. Please anyone that understands the situation can respond to me. Thank you You don't need to add that as its not needed but it will not have a negative to your application. Declaring those visa refusals is the right thing to do, |

pointednose: Quick question.
Good day all,
Please whats your experience with booking flights with a travel agent versus booking directly through the airline? As per cost, ease of changing flight dates, general help and support etc.
I want to go through a travel agent but mu husband is trying to book directly through the airline company.
Thanks Booking directly from the airlines will save you a lot of troubles if anything goes wrong. Airlines will deal with any issue directly and issue a refund if needed but you hardly get that from agents.. Agents are just after their commission, customer service is zero |

Sold my ppty and car to be here. All the jobs wey my friends dey tell is that na only care Job for international student sure. Pls is there no job that can pay better than care job? And also I intend to buy a car for UK since I see that car is cheap. So that I can be using it to hustle. Please help a brother and discourage me why I need to buy a car at this time becos sometimes I no dey hear word. But importantly please which job dey wey I fit do. And also how una dey use survive with 20hrs per week job. Becos right now my body dey hot if I see job even sleep go be enemy of progress. I no come look uche face. Please all comment is allowed. CC @justwise @TheGuyFromHR And other seniors in the house. Bro start considering those care work, super market, warehouse or security jobs. As a student those are the sort of jobs you are most likely to get. Remember that even citizens do those jobs the difference is that they can work full time with full benefits. I wouldn’t encourage you to buy a car now for whatever hustle you have in mind, consider dustydee’s points seriously. You can buy a car for hustle after your graduation and you get the PSW, then you have no restrictions so as to make full use of that car and your time . On a side note … don’t disregard any job if you want to make money and survive in this country. Good luck |

Nozino: Dear Sir, can we be civil? Like I said, I don’t encourage traveling on a tourist visa. I won’t try it but that’s the only option available to some persons. I would rather educate them about the disadvantages and not crush their dreams without suggesting an alternative. The ultimate decision rests on the said person(s). One question to you...have you ever read my posts? |
Travel › Re: Finally In Russia!!! But.... by justwise(mod): 10:53am On Jul 08, 2021 |
Nozino: Irrespective of what justwise says, a student visa is not an immigrant visa. Even Canada that has a sure pathway for students to secure PR always want students to prove that they will return to their country after studies.
If you can travel on a tourist visa and be able to regularise your stay and you’ve considered everything and still want to go ahead, please do.
Don’t let someone who travelled on a non immigrant visa and found away to regularise his stay discourage you. We all know people like our oga, people who went from Bsc to MSc, to Msc again to PhD all so they could claim to have been in the UK for 10years continuously and get ILR. All because they don’t want to return home. Go to Germany, they’ve started the nonsense of not graduating or graduating and starting the same program cycle all because they don’t want to leave Germany but this same people will come on nairaland to discourage those of us struggling to migrate.
I won’t encourage using Tourist visas to migrate though, the wahala isn’t worth it. But I understand that for some of us from humble backgrounds, that is the only viable option we have. Here we go again, another one with zero knowledge of anything. Your poor attempt to castigate me is laughable. Did i break any immigration rule by not returning back to Nigeria? Did i overstayed my visa? Did i leave Nigeria with the wrong visa? On a second thought though..why do some of you get worried each time i post against leaving Nigeria with the wrong visa? Why not go ahead and ignore my post and go ahead with your illegal traveling? |

Chukwuka16: @Justwise Your comments were quite shocking and troubling. When you say vaccination should be compulsory, on whose orders? Where was I consulted? Governance is a product of a constitution, and every constitution (they say the UK doesn't have one) derives its powers from The PEOPLE. Check out the common opening statement of most constitutions and it’s – “WE THE PEOPLE…” It thus means that products cannot be that powerful in deciding what happens to their source. Governments that have tried this have usually failed at the end (through revolutions). In governance we have what is called co-production where end-users or affected users are involved in the evolution of policies to ensure majority buy-in. You see this in the development of new technology products or even beauty-wares were producers send out samples to select clients who use these products and send back reviews/feedback before final production that integrates this feedback.
We can’t have a perfect utopia, but we can have one that achieves justice and equity. We must ensure that injustices whether procedural, distributive or recognition to a large extent can be mitigated through actions that discourage oligarchy and encourages inclusion/participation. Leadership isn’t a command and rule structure neither is it dictatorial. The use of fear tactics (like you alluded to how deadly the virus is) doesn’t obviate the need for proper procedure in achieving buy-in. We have seen over time that the use of fear mongering has only ended up in eroding citizens’ rights and making governments more powerful. Individual rights and preferences should always be respected especially where we don’t have majority buy-in. I really don't know why my comment troubled you , but don't worry you will go back on what you have written here pretty soon. Vaccination will become a requirement just like covid test and you will not be allowed to do a lot of stuff if you are not fully vaccinated. And guess what? There is nothing you can do about it, you will end you getting fully vaccinated just like we are all forced to wear mask and isolate. |

dustydee: The 2 year post study visa was scrapped and that's when the Tier 2 (General) visa started. I believe Justwise was in the UK before that came into force. As for the guy that says the UK student visa condition is that "you must go back home", you need to read up a bit. The only people on student visa that I know are required to go back home are those on commonwealth scholarship or perhaps Chevening scholarship. You are asking for impossible, Non has the ability to read and comprehend |
