Plaouse: Thank you. But will i be able to transfer if i become a student in a Nigerian University? Seeking a scholarship isn't much of a problem - whats the possibility of getting one (I dont have a straight A result nor a great CGPA its more like Bs) Like hosey advised, is it better to seek these scholarships at undergraduate or postgraduate level? I doubt you will be able to transfer to the U.K from Nigeria. Getting scholarship at undergraduate level is a lot better, that is 3 years of free money and peace of mind. Like I said to you before. Use this opportunity to find out requirements for those scholarships then know how to get required qualifications to meet it. |

Plaouse: Hello. I'm planning to study as an undergraduate in the UK (under a scholarship). Presently i do not have the requirements to apply so i plan to use the remaining of this year to get prepared then next year I would apply. I will also seek admission in a Nigerian university (UNN to be precise) just incase i dont get the scholarship. The thing is; will it be easy, if possible, to transfer if i get the supposed UK admission? Thank you When you have the requirements try the UK, check commonwealth scholarship and schools in partnership with them, Check their requirements so as to help you during the period of preparation. Applying for scholarship is free so give it a go. |

Ashirioluwa: Maybe you should read what he posted again. He stayed for 21 days not 6 months. Staying for up to 4 weeks is fine but staying for over 1 month might result to problem if you claimed employee in your application. Ashirioluwa: Explanation is not needed in this case. You definitely have to explain why you decided to stay 14days longer that 7 days you stated on your application and was given visa based on that budget. 7 days trip budget is not the same as 21days one, next time you apply for visa and say you are staying eg 1week you will not be believed because of your previous record without any explanation. People may have very good reason why they stayed longer that stated and if you don't explain it how do you expect the ECO to know? |

oak202: I think he will need the explanation when he spends like a month or more but considering he spent 21 days out of 6 months visa, there is no need for explanation .
Although i understand your point but in this case no need for explanation. 1. Was the budget for the trip for 7 days or 21days? |

olawax22: No need for any explanation, if you mistakenly give any explanation you’ll implicate yourself for nothing, so be guided. Yes there is a need for an explanation else your application is likely to be refused. |

LuvlyIva: Hello house I was just discussing with a friend, she told me that my country is better than UK. She said I should not border to come to UK, that the country is hard. I told her my wife is in UK, she advice I can be visiting her. Please house I need help o for those of you that live in the UK. What are the advantages and disadvantages. Those of you that left Nigeria to UK, is UK better than Nigeria? What were the experience, Am I better off in Nigeria than UK? I am working presently and earning up to 200k, with medical, leave allowance of 200k and 13th month. (Can I get all these benefits in the UK?) My wife also keep complaining that UK is difficult. I am confused. I was just contemplating telling her to come bk and get a health care job . I need advice please my bros and sisters on how you guys were able to make it in the UK. What are the advantages of me staying in the UK. I studied Germany language, what can I start to do to get a good job. How can u guys convince me that UK is better. Thank you Bros i think you should read inbetween the lines here, she doesn't want you to come to the UK and she doesn't want to return to Nigeria either, she only want to be visiting you and you are here asking questions about the UK vs Nigeria? Ok lets just pretend as if we don't know that this marriage is in ICU. 200K is not enough to start comparing the UK to Nigeria because cleaners makes more than that and still enjoy 'free heath care' live in a relatively safer environment, uninterrupted power supply, good roads..etc My neigbour works with Amazon and he gets about 206 hours holiday, 40-50 hours emergency holiday(go home anytimie you want paid) and 6 weeks paid sick leave a year. 6 weeks paid paternity leave, private medical benefit, career choice benefit..basically if he wants to leave Amazon they will help him to get trained for another career and you can leave at the end. If you worked there for one full year as a permanent staff and want to leave you will be given £1500 and more than that if you have worked longer. You need no qualification to get all these and he works 4days in and 3days out weekly. During this coronavirus problem he got 12weeks paid leave, this is not from his statutory leave allowance. You can compare the UK to Nigeria on individual bases because there are Nigerians who are doing very well than many us here but as a system as whole..you can't compare night and day. |

Asoko80: I traveled to the UK for 21 days but at the point of application,I said I was gonna spend 7 days not due to some unforseen circumstance and the fact that that trip was made during my annual leave. Would this pose a problem if I want to reapply with my kids when my visa expires? You need to explain why you stayed 14days longer than you stated in your application form. |
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by justwise(mod): 1:42pm On May 17, 2020 |
Ashirioluwa: Not at all. You never overstayed your visa. My family and I did that many times. Not everybody will do it and get away with it, given 6months visa does not mean you should stay 6months, if you have indicated certain a mount of time you want to spend in the UK and the ECO approves your visa then you are expected to stick to that period of time. Staying longer than that without a convincing explanation is likely to affect your next visa application. |

Frankrobbn1: Don't just reapply blindly, get an experienced immigration lawyer to fight your case. Your case has a good prospect to be won by a lawyer. The process would cost you $4,000CAD. If you can afford it, go for it.
It will end in praise. Please don't start this, someone just got denied and you come up with this? How much do you know about this case that you are certain that throwing up $4,000 will win the case? Visa that cost less than $300 to apply and you want her to spend $4000 to appeal? |

Capitalbase: Good morning my People. I have been following since day 1 and I wanted to be certain of things before I ask. I have been admitted to study "Biomedical Science" in "Chester University" and "Sheffield Hallam University". I am really tempted to go for Chester as they also offer top up courses to enable me write IBMS and get licensed. Now my questions.
1) Is That University a good one?
2) How is Chester in terms of student Job and life generally?
3) I have been asked to make a deposit of 3kp but I intend to make 6kp out of the total 9450p, How does this move help me?
4) Do I need a car, or should I just forget about it?
5) Can I do small buying and send down to Nigeria for sale?
6) Since it's my first time traveling, will I have issues with a virgin passport?
7) How Marketable is this course in UK?.
Please I have some other questions as I intend to start paying school fees this week, but kindly put me through on this ones first. Thanks all the gurus in the house. I am expecting your responses.
Cc Justwise, etc.
Best Regards 1. I really don't know much about the university, i don't want to give you an uninformed review of the university 2. You don't really struggle with student jobs in any town that has an university and you also have Amazon FC there. 3. If you can pay, you are going to pay all during the orientation anyway. 4. Only buy a car if (a) you don't look at price tag (b) That car will be bringing in money..i don't mean driving to work or school. (c) when the cost of public transport is higher than the cost of buying and maintaining the car. 5.As a foreign student you are not allowed to engage in any form of business...are there foreign students that engaged in business? Undoubtedly yes but its against your student visa rule , so do it at your own peril 6. No 7. No course is unmarketable |

umaga1991: Brothers and sisters in the house. I have a small question to ask and please I need answers.
I got an admission in RGU Scotland, my tuition is around 5m, due to some issues, I only have 3m for the tuition. I was asked to pay 34% initial dep, and my fees can be paid installmentaly. Now my question is, can I work while studying and complete the remaining fees. I appreciate your answers. Thanks If you don't have the remaining 2M that means you don't also have the maintenance money? If that is true then you will be working to pay fees, rent, bills and feeding? |

Nollywoodlove: Hello everyone... please I need candid advise here.
I studied Engineering, but graduated with a third class. I want to switch career and get masters in a course related to Business/Finance/project management/etc. Please which universities in the UK would accept me with third class? My budget for school fees is not more than 10,000 pounds. I've searched everywhere, but I keep seeing 2:2 base requirement.
Something to note, for the past 3 years, I have been a volunteer for a major international organization in project management capacity. I am aware that requirements are not set in stone and can be adjusted on individual basis, but I'd love to get suggestions on the schools that are more flexible and more likely to accept my grade. Please help me.
CC: Justwise You have to make an application first, in your application attach a letter explaining your work experience relating to the course you are applying for. Work experience helps when grade did not meet the standard, give it a try as you got nothing to lose. |

Mindlog: Shuddering at the thought of getting paid 8-11 p/hr work after graduation, after all the investment! Personally, after graduation anything less than £25/hr as a starting wage will make no sense to me. Lower your expectation else you will be shocked to find out that very very few graduates earns £25/hr and you must be good to earn that much in very early of your career. |

Thank you all for the condolence messages. I can’t even think straight for now. That is helpful, take your time and draw up the letter and apply as soon as the embassy opens and flights between Nigeria and the UK reopen again. You also need to speak to your school for a time off studies as well. |

dupylola: Good day house, please, I need advice. I came to the Uk Jan this year to study a 2 Years program. I am a married woman with kids so my husband and I planned that he would apply for dependant visa with the kids by March. Unfortunately due to the lock down, they couldn’t get the biometrics done and the worst happened,my hubby died from covid 19 related disease last week.My life shattered but I have to keep moving
I am planing to return to Nigeria to get the kids for biometrics but my heart bleeds for my husband after all his sacrifices . I am considering applying for his mum so she can help with the kids while I run around. Please, how can I go about this?? There’s enough fund to cover her maintenance fee.
@Just wise and all kindly advise. I’m not an emotional person but this one got me. I’m really sorry to read this, be strong and take sometime to get yourself together again. Please get the death certificate and attach it to the application for your kids and your mother Inlaw then explain in the form what happened.. Apply for dependant visa for your kids and your mother inlaw and explain in details why you need your mother inlaw(considering what happened) Request that they issue her visiting visa if dependant visa is not feasible. Give this a try as this is an exceptional situation, Does your mother inlaw work or doing business? |
