They can but not for all jobs since they dont have that title of citizen or PR so the competition will be less and citizen and PRs can get. There are jobs in the US that are strictly for citizens and PRs. So If more people become PRs, then many people will be juggling for the jobs. That’s why the pause is needed at this time.

Yes the ban doesn’t stop work visas. And work visas like H1B is not guaranteed for anyone. He rightly said it is for those trying to get their permanent residency. If you fufill all criteria for PR, you cant be denied but even if you fulfill all for work visa like H1B you can be denied because its a lottery system. And my point has been about that pausing the green card processing, it is a good move. So those in the process of getting their green card right now apart from refugees and asylum seekers will have to wait for 60 days. That’s it. People enter US in many ways and many are looking to get their green card so he is pausing such for now to attend to the unemployment claims that citizens have filed. And to me, that’s a good move. Not adding to the number of citizens or PR yet till this unexpected crisis calms down. And why should anyone be stressed that they paused their immigration?? It is his country and right now he is the leader the American people voted for him!

How many countries have the rate of unemployment the US currently has due to this pandemic. This is a pandemic, he has to take steps to protect citizens interests first. Other countries should do so too. Put your citizens first.

When the economy reopened the unemployment figure will go down as people will return to their previous jobs. Yes the unemployment figure may remain relatively high but will gradually go down.

American farmers especially will take a massive hit if this reckless policy is implemented because they can't do much without immigrants . Many American businesses need immigrants including Trump's businesses.

I don't know much about South Wales in terms of cost of living but the university ranked lower than Coventry university hence the low fees and other give-a ways to attract students.

Coventry university ranking is good though that fees is high, you should be able to get student job in Coventry and it's not a expensive city to live...though depending on your taste/lifestyle.

I don't think that Wales will be an expensive place to live as a student though, go to university and city you can afford and come out with good result.

It could take weeks or month before your passport will be ready for collection.

There is no time scale for this, you just have to keep bugging them through emails and calls
