sweetgold5: Hello please I need a candid advice on this matter.
I am planning to go back to the UK with my child to meet her father who resides in the UK and has also gotten his permit. But I don't know how to go about it.
I have been traveling to the UK since 2011 as a student my Uncle(a British citizen) has been inviting me but I have been visiting my hubby too. The last time I went to UK was 2014 and i came back 2015 and I went to put to bed I was told to pay for the bills which I just finished paying.
Now I want to go back with my child, I have changed my name on my passport as married to my hubby name who has also gotten his permit but my cousin still wants to invite me as usual, my child has a UK BC I have finished paying the NHS bills.
My question is Do I need to disclose in my application that my hubby lives in the UK and I will also be visiting him during my stay or I should say he resides in Nigeria?
Meanwhile his address and that of my Uncle are both on my Child's BC
If I claim he resides in Nigeria I hope its not going to affect me wen he wants to apply for stay permit for me and my child
And if I claim he resides in the UK will they need his passport data page to know his status in the UK and won't they assume that I may not want to come back to 9ja and then refuse my visa.
And also my hubby doesn't want to be the one to invite us now due to long time response by home office.... He just wants a faster way since I have been traveling to d UK before. The application takes too long and a bit expensive especially for 2 people....
Please kindly advice me on what to do. I will be filling the application form anytime soon.
Thanks Why Seriously why? Your hubby lives in the UK as ILR holder and you want to lie about this? |

monchat: Well @Adumii has really hit the nail. There are so many things that will complicate issues on y application, so many questions will arrise when taking decision on y application. You said y uncle is sponsoring y visit, and y hubby stays in the UK as permanent resident, then why is he not sponsoring u and his child? This will raise eye ball and ECO will doubt the possibility of u coming bk.The decision will be base on:- That y hubby could av apply for spouse visa for u but, may be he is not able to meet the spouse visa requirements base on his financial level in the UK bc he has to be earning about £22,000 to fill for u and his child and if he does not earn dat, it will be difficult to fill for u guys and this can make them to take decision that u might not come bk. I could av prefer that, he applys for spouse visa for u, if he meets the requirements Or u apply and be the person that will sponsor y self or y hubby sponsor y trip if u guys av good job with monthly pay and comprehensive statement of account that will cover yr visit with y child , then yr hubby can write a cover note to explain that he is really missing his family and will like them to spend some weeks with him this summer, he wishes to apply for spouse visa for u next year but meanwhile he will like u guys to visit him for a short stay and conclude that, u guys will definitely leave UK after y stay. He can attach letter of invitation, statement of account, payslip. Also show attached pictures of u and hubby, kid, wedding pic and other pictures u are together. Since y spouse visa might take a while u guys can visit. I d'nt see anything wrong in visiting y hubby in the UK if he has a legal status. This is my advice , others can also add their own contributions. That is not true, he only need to be earning £18.600 per year. The child is technically British. |

BabaOman: Folks, please I need advice on my application. I am filling my form online but I have two areas that I am confused about:
1. After I filled out my travel history: the US, Saudi Arabia, another page came that whether I have ever been refused visa to other country other than the UK: Here, I was refused F1 visa to study in the US in 2012 for my masters but I was given B1/2 in 2014. Do I still need to fill YES to this question?
2. I have savings in my dollar account worth $5700 in my Nigerian account sufficient for the two weeks course I want to do with flight and personal expenses. I will use it for my payments. I equally have about £6000 in my account in my base which I filled in the form as my savings and to use about £3000 in the form. Since I won't have access to my Nigerian Bank statement, can I add the information at the end of the form which says to fill out other details not mentioned? I will only have access to my bank account statement in my base. I need your input the gurus in the house.
@justwise, ekpotek and others. 1. YES is the answer is that is the truth. 2. Include all your bank statements as long as you can defend the sources of money in them with evidence |

Adumii: You need to be carful , as I smell instant refusal here. Applying to go visit a spouse in the UK actually reduces chances of obtaining a visit visa. ECO will doubt you aren’t trying to avoid the spouse visa process and just want to step in with visitor visa and then become an overstayer .
Based on Your Story, I presume you “married” your husband after obtaining your last UK visitor visa. And I hope your marriage certificate also proves that. If it’s not the case, don’t attempt visitor visa again. There is no way around it. Even if you want to claim your hubby is in Nigeria, you are shooting yourself the more.
Another blunder , uncle is inviting and sponsoring you but you want to also visit your husband . My dear even if the eco is drunk at the time of processing your application , it’s a huge red flag. He/she will doubt you will rerun and will most likely refuse your visa.
Another blunder, if you intend migrating to the UK anytime, do not lie again about Who your husband is . Cos it will hunt you.
It’s not really rocket science , I am sure you already know these things.
Best approach... go down the spouse visa route. Not sure how the visitor visa will play out. That is not entirely true she can apply as long as she meets the requirements, applying to take her child to see the daddy is perfectly good reason for visa application. |

logophilia: My application is 22 working days with the UKVI today. I did biometrics on 24 of April and it was transferred to ukvi on the 25th of April. I did the so called priority. Does this ever happen?? Because it just feels weird and annoying that an application would be kept for so long with no correspondence.
I made email enquiry on the wed 23 may, and they are saying application is been considered. I got another mail this morning saying an escalation has been done and i should expect a response within 15 working days. My program started may 19 and last day for enrollment is June 8. Hmmm
please your opinion/advise will be appreciated

Nigeria needs to do better. That is very long for sure, what is the point of paying for priority services when it takes this long? You have done the right thing by contacting , you just have to wait patiently to hear from them. |

monchat: 1. There is no any effect the 3months will have on him. The duration of his stay as a visitor is 6months, It is when he over stays after 6months,then he will have trouble. My last vacation to uk last year I stayed 3months with my 2years visa. I came bk and renewed for 5years, when asked to state how long I stayed in my various visits. I stated 3months and the purpose of visit was for vacation and the last visit was 11days on vacation.
2. Please let him d'nt complicate issues on his application by saying he received medical treatment. My advice just tick NO, inorder not to complicate issue. I received medical treatment, I had various GP appointments during my 3months stay and I never paid but when asked in my recent application, I tick NO bc I d'nt want to complicate issues for my self. This days I am not sure, if visitors are allowed to receive FREE medicals. The choice is yours, if u want to click YES, get ready to explain and submit receipts of medical treatment. There is no any trouble he will encount if he ticks NO. My advice just tick NO.
3. Your father in-law is financially able to sponsor him self, with all these u mentioned, there is hope for him. All he needs to do is place all his financial documents together, that includes the houses for rent, all statements of accounts, including pension he should go ahead and apply for 5years, this will save him the stress of applying every year especially if he is a frequent traveler. The 5years visa goes for N321,00 Well done!! You abused the system and think you got away with it ? Only time will tell. Where in the world do tourist get free medical care in a foreign country? Your abuse of the system has affected others applying for immigration visa including students as they have to pay £200 and £150 respectively yearly before coming to the UK to live or study all thanks to people like you. |

DebsMed: Dear Justwise, Ekpotek and other gurus in the house kindly advise on this please. My father in-law has been to the UK thrice; 2008; 2010 and 2012. He's a senior citizen/retiree now. He did less than 10 days in his first two visits. His third was after his retirement from service, he spent about three months even though he entered with the intention of doing four weeks. What effect does this have? The major issue now is that while filling his form for renewal we came across a part asking if he received medical care in the UK. Yes, he did, a check up on a suspected diabetic condition, he even has an NHS number to worsen matters. Next is if he paid? No, he didn't. We are told this will affect his application. Hubby's cousin in the UK advises not to state that he received medical care in the UK. Isn't that more trouble? Is there a way we can get to know this bill and pay up or what do we do? Currently, he has valid US and Canada visas (he hasn't been to these places yet) and had wanted to see all three countries this summer (Central London, Manhattan and Downtown Toronto specifically) paying personally for the UK part of the trip (booked an hotel around the Buckingham Palace area for four days already), he has about 3.4m in his account currently with a couple of houses to booth even though his pension money is around a 100k, but he receives rent proceeds that averagely could be put around 280k monthly and monthly allowances from his children (all resident in Nigeria but have visas of the above countries and even children born in them with associating costs duly handled), about 130k at least, etc. Is there any hope of renewing this UK visa? Can he apply for the 5yrs visa or repeat the 2yrs visa, or just start afresh from the 6months visa? Thanks ahead for your contributions. The abuse of NHS is a serious issue, medical tourism contributed massively to that. They need to find out if NHS has sent the bill to the address he used when completing the form at the hospital and pay for the medical bill then send the receipt to be used for visa application. Or use his NHS number to find out how to pay the bill. Yes it will affect his visa application or entering into the UK at some point. |

I have a question regarding maintenance funds.
My wife was denied dependant visa, and i want to reapply, the bank statement i have has exceeded the 31 days from printout date. I am required to hold the funds for 90 days. but I took some money out of the account on the 2nd of may.
question 1. Can I print a new bank Statement from 1st Feb - 1st May. Showing 90 days of the required funds. (As 2nd may is less than 31 days)
2. Can I have links to official docs with regards to this. (as I no want to dash UKVI money for the second time).
NB: I have address the reasons for refusal. thanks 1.10 yrs ban is just hovering around your next application if you are not careful 2. https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/680612/PBS_Dependant_Guidance_02-2018.pdf |

Cyberknight: If this story is indeed true, surely it is obvious that there are no parallels between a 15-year old minor who committed an offence as a juvenile, and one which can easily be guaranteed against if his circumstances have obviously improved, (i.e. a man with money in his account and a good job back home can make a plausible case for never committing such a crime again) and a person who, as an adult, knowingly committed an immigration offence and can no longer be given the benefit of the doubt concerning whether they would ever commit an immigration offence again if given the opportunity (i.e. even if the poster gets married back in Nigeria and starts a family and produces evidence of that to the ECO on their next application for a UK visa to exclude the possibility of ever attempting spousal visa fraud, given that the poster has demonstrated a desire to live in the UK at any cost, even against the rules, what guarantee is there that the poster would not commit yet another immigration offence, for instance simply overstaying any visa granted and going underground the next time?).
The analogy doesn't stand up and should not be taken by the poster as a source of false hope. Can’t put it better than this. |

Nogen: I think he meant that until the guy gets his GCMS more, he can't be sure if he was banned or not. It could be a case of rejection or also an outright ban. Only his notes can say if he got banned or not. jnyuwa02: They go wrong, they are not infallible, in fact quite from it. I can guarantee it that this guy presented true statements from his bank, otherwise he won’t even have the audacity to place his question here. They do so for all kinds of psychological reasons. This is an isolated case when it comes to issues relating to misrepresentation/fraud |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by justwise(mod): 11:35am On May 20, 2018 |
jnyuwa02: Not true!! It’s another things to be accused of misrepresentation and another thing to be found to have misrepresented. That is why there is a fair process allowed by law for anyone accused to defend themselves. Many are accused of misrepresentation and successfully explain themselves and do not get a ban. I believe this is the case with the asker here and the GCMS will reveal that beyond the reasonable doubt. I know someone who was accused of misrepresentation, responded to the procedural fairness letter he received and did not get ban, but CIC went on and denied him based on purpose of visit. He is planning to apply again and tackle purpose of visit. Please let us make sure we handing out accurate information on this platform, not rushing to judgement or saying things we know nothing about. I'm getting concerned about your contribution here lately, you say things with imaginary authority that worries me sometimes. |
