MaBuk: @ekpotek, @justwise, does it make sense to present a salary account with 300k and savings account with 800k .
Is the total money small for a trip of 500k.
Note that salary is 200k per month. What is your cost breakdown of the trip? |

Obinoscopy: We are good at criticising this country in the public without proffering solutions. We take up the holier than thou attitude while condemning the rest. That's wrong and won't solve anything. We are very good at talking about the tiny specks in other people's eye without talking about the big log of wood in ours.
I believe so much in this country. And I believe we are the ones who can solve our issues and not the international community. Fine, we can discuss our issues and criticise constructively but exposing our flaws to the international community will only make them laugh at us.
There are other nlers on this thread who criticise constructively and don't do it condescendingly while doing so. He should do same. So you think Nigeria is this bad because of lack of solution to our problems? What solution that has not been provided both harshly or softly but still nothing seems to change. No Nigeria is this bad because we have normalized corruption and fraudulent activities, the system is now conditioned to accept that this is the normal way of doing things. This is exactly why TWoods and few others are picked on for dare saying things that very uncomfortable to sympathizers of the corrupt system. The truth is the solution no matter how harshly spoken or written, at least somebody care enough to speak out rather covering it up. |

ladylco: No one is saying truth is not right but the way it's being communicated matters. TWOODS as far as am concerned is just too rude and insultive, there are lot of people here who are advocate of doing the right thing particularly on immigration matters and such were passed with absolute sanity. if you read his post 99% is rude even on matters that is on neutral grounds he is still insultive.
You know what, when people display such bragado and holier than thou attitude, my dear check well they are simply trying to cover what they accuse others of.
Even the Americans who get land will politely refuse u visa or entry which one is hisown? He should come back home and change things why did he remain in another man's land was he born there, didn't he also emigrated there? Oshisko plc.
His brother that abused his class of visa did he cut his neck? Did he or has he ever used him as reference point when he is castigating others, that is a very big hypocritic criticism. First remove the dust in your eyes before you try to remove that of another person. Mtchew!
TWoods come and tell us how you got to USA and how did you treat your brother's case then all man will take whatever you say. You are mistaken a hash truth to an insult which is very common with some Nigerians, what TWoods is saying is exactly what many Nigerians say daily about our system and politicians, the problem is that many of us are so hypocritical and use religion as a pretence. Nigeria is screwed up and that is the fact, i don't care how anybody present that truth because i'm sick and tired of all these cover-up excuses and pointless prayers while we still engage in the same crime. |

Obinoscopy: TWoods, this is a public forum that's read by people from different nationalities.
If you are a Nigerian and want things to turn around, then criticise constructively and not destructively. Your comments is doing the same harm as the harm caused by those desperate NIgerians who want to leave the country. Obinoscopy with all due respect i have to totally push you back on this, there is nothing like destructive criticism when it comes to issue of Nigeria and fraud/corruption etc Is either we condemn what is wrong and take action or we sit on our hands and keep praying fruitless prayers hoping that one day miracle will happen. Truth hurts that is why many don't like hearing it. I really hope that we will have many TWoods speaking out and not play the nice-guy card to avoid back clash |

Sho mo age wa ni! @Twoods I hope you don't take this advice and keep speaking the truth no matter how harsh as long as you did not insult anybody. Nigeria is full of churches, spirit filled church goers, prayer warriors but densely corrupt, how does that work? |

I want to apply for a uk tourist visa,i am self employed with a registered business and 2years tax clearance certificates for it.My question is,My profits on this certificates shows as NIL,would the Eco think my business doesnt make enough profit to bring me back home? 2.Also for a while now,my savings account has mostly been used for business daily and my company account onot regularly atall and has less than N100k balance, personal account has over 2.5million balance plus two savings dormicilary accouts of $700 and over £300,can i just submit only the savings accounts and leave the company account out because of the less transactions and balance?I also have travel experience since 2015 till date,i have been to UAE,France twice and Istanbul and have a new 3rd visa from france still valid that i havent used atall because i intend visiting Paris from London..Pls your advice will be deeply appreciated as i intend submitting this week. Also i will be staying 5days,and my budget is about 500k,i dont have an exact monthly income as a business person but i make above 350k monthly Submit all your bank statements as long as you can defend the money on them, your cost of the trip should not come from the business account but from your profit/savings account. How much is your flight ticket and hotel accommodation? |

Arbitrix: Hi Guys
I am a little worried and I need some advise.
I applied for my UK visa last week Thursday and I think I might have left out a crucial document. Let me explain.
I want to spend my annual leave in the UK this year. I went to school in Scotland and my 2 year family visit visa expired last year. I also have a US visa which expires next year. Other countries I have visited are India, Qatar, Uae and Ghana.
I have a brother who is a permanent resident in the UK. He sent me an invitation letter, mortgage payment, 3 months bank statement, 6 months payslips, and his resident permit card. I did not submit his data page and that has me worried. I am hoping that will not be a reason for a refusal.
Another problem is that I paid a cheque of N781,000 into my savings account on 26 April. Now this account has never gone below 1.4 million. It was repayment of a loan to me which I explained in a brief cover letter. I submitted my application with 2.5m in one of my savings accounts, 815k in the other (this account I never withdraw from because of the interest payments which i highlighted with a pen) and finally my salary account which had a balance of about 50k. I transfer money from my salary account to my savings account immediately I am paid every month. My salary account has my Lawfirm's name on my statement and when I make my monthly transfers I use the description ("January savings" etc. I highlighted all these payments with a pen.
I also submitted my Pension statement which is currently worth 2.2m and my cscs share statement with shares worth 1.3m. I earn N337,044.53 monthly, after deductions.
So I guess what I want to know is 1. Will the fact that I did not submit my brother's data page affect my application and 2. The deposit of N781,000 paid into my account on 26 April.
What do you guys think?
@Justwise and co please help! 1. i don't think not submitting his data page will be a big deal since you submitted his residency card 2. You did a good thing by explaining the deposit and its source, that is all you can do. |

Amolad111: Dear Justwise, Ekpotek and others,
We submitted our application and did biometrics on the 2nd of May; till now, the TLS website is showing decision not made. However, I called UKVI and was told decisions have been made and I should liaise with VAC in Nigeria.
I am planning to go to VAC Ikeja to lodge a complaint as it's over a month now.
Kindly advise. You should have done that long time ago |

Becca01: Update:
Got to Canada- Toronto yesterday. I was pregnant when I applied and I stated visiting in my application.
POE
Asides my ticket, I did a reservation for 2 weeks Incase I was asked as I intended to declare I was traveling for only 2 weeks. I used makeup and dressed smartly (I don’t know if the POE officer knew I was pregnant or not) I was asked the following questions:
Where will I be staying? For how long? If this was my first time? And then I declared some food stuffs I brought as well. That was all. Some Nigerians and their dubious way..very soon Canadian embassy will start doing to Nigerian going to have a baby what US embassy are doing to Nigerians now. We are our own worst enemy |

emeldamicheals: Thnx justwise. I stated 2 weeks in my application. I am self employed and i own my own coy. I already hv my ticket for one month.
That will depend on what you stated on your visa application form and what you do in Nigeria. You are going to have problem renewing that visa or at the POE when re-entrying from US or even before that if the immigration sees your ticket. because you misrepresented in your application form. You stated 2weeks in your application form and presented financial evidence to convince the ECO that you can afford the two weeks trip then you went ahead to buy a month ticket that is premeditated action. You stayed a month in the UK and left then traveled to US and returned back to the UK to stay another one month? You are just asking for your visa to be cancelled and banned. |

adelejane: Hi Gurus ,
i intend visiting UK with my kids for my brothers PHD graduation. what type of visa options should i select...
Family or Tourism?
we intend applying for two years visit visa. i have been to the UK before, did my MSC in the uk and also visited once in 2015 with my daughter. my son hasn't been before cos he wasn't born then. does he qualify for a 2 years visit visa too?
another question is that my parents are also attending the graduation and they have booked a big family accommodation for all of us and they will be paying . it means our accommodation is sorted.
will this be an issue? I'm married and i have my own company and can afford the entire trip but once my parents have booked a family accommodation i see no reason to book another. how do i proof this in my application that they are sponsoring accommodation and what supporting document do i need to show . im the one paying for the flight and living expense in the uk. You need to apply for standard visiting visa then you will be asked to select subcategory of visa. Use the evidence of the accommodation your parents have booked already and also explain the travel arrangements in the blank space provided in the form. |

Lordcrixus: You don’t need to cancel the appointment, the ukvi do not share info with the US. My first ever visa application was US and I was refused, after which I have had a German visa and three uk visas without mentioning my US refusal in all the applications. Work on other aspects of the application. Good luck That is just a careless lies just to cover yourself from your misrepresentation. Those two countries shares information. |

emeldamicheals: Thanks for ur response. I will try not to exceed one month. Since, i hv a valid US visa. Can i stay a month in UK. Travel to US. Stay maybe one week and come back to UK and stay another one month b4 returning home. Is this viable?
Obviously be ready to expect issues in your next application if you stayed beyond at most 3 weeks. If you really want to stay beyond 2 weeks, declare it in on landing card and defend it at POE. That will depend on what you stated on your visa application form and what you do in Nigeria. |

Brandagencies: Hello everyone, I am in Chicago now and I MUST give back. It was a horrible experience but I got in. I took the BA flight and arrived Chicago for 11;30. CBP- good morning how are u and why are u here? Me: good morning , vacation and to birth my baby. CBP: Stands up to meet another officer, comes aback and says this way ma( secondary things☹️) After sitting a while a middle aged woman calls me CBP 2: madam, can I have confirmation that the hospital has accepted to treat u? Me: stroger doesn’t give correspondence but here is the medical number opened for me it has my dates and my first appointment CBP: that is not my job. What u have her is crap. Me: Crap ke? Call first na!!( this point, I was already tired from the long journey) CBP2: how much do u have Me: 6900 in cash and 7000 In my wells card CBP2: Go sit down, I’ll call u later. Approximately 15mins after, she calls me in with a superior. CBP: madam, these information u provided are not valid , we are sending u home. Me: Home? Why? I can pay for these things( I begin analyse bla bla) CBP: let me have ur phone and it’s password, please sit down. Another 30mins after CBP: you read nairaland? Me: Yes CBP: that nairaland devices u all, u should ask the us govt ur questions not a bunch of guessers Me: I did contact the govt on a change of intent. CBP: well, ure only allowed to birth here if Baby is high risk and ur doctor in Nigeria confirms it and u have an acceptance from a doctor here. You Nigerians just disgust me, coming here to quote what laws u don’t make. You are a burden to our govt. you just want to show off that ur baby has a passport: Me: trying to defend myself CBP: shut Up. At this time, they had gone through all my phone emails and WhatsApp messages. Nothing to mail me with. She comes back to ask for my contacts number and proceeds to call her. Requesting that my host sends me back because 6400 is not a reasonable fee to pay and I cannot afford it. My host insists that was the self pay package and she would use her insurance to cover if there are emergencies. Me: very worried, already seeing them process travel docs for other pregnant women who have been turned back, some since yesterday. I had already started crying. CBP : so madam, u will be going back home let me get approval from my superior. 10 mins later, please go get ur bags we need to check. Me: with my big belle I run go carry luggage( I had just a cabin size box and a well wrapped ghana must go CBP: all these clothes are too much ( biko which clothes) Senior CBP patapata: madam, when was ur visa issued Me: 2016 SCBP: it wasn’t given to birth Me: yes, it was for a conference which I attended and I was not pregnant and then. SCBP: ok ma, I will allow u into the USA but please show receipts on ur way out( she had a passport to junior CBP Junior CBP: collects my passport and arrogantly stamps me in for 10weeks. Saying if I present a receipt less than 20k dollars on my way out, no visa will be resissued Me: thank u ma. CBP: Now very Angry, don’t thank me, looking at u disgusts me, just leave my sight before I puke. Me: quickly carries my bag. Moral : 1. It is now illegal to birth in USA if the birth can be handled in Nigeria( they showed me proof of that o) 2. Abort mission if ure using H Stroger. 3. Make sure u tell everyone u chat with that ure coming back 4. Hold cash of all the money u need. 5. Stay far from Ohare.
This is where I drop my pen. Very unprofessional and disgusting coming from someone who should know better. That said, I think some dubious Nigerians have ruined it for majority decent ones and many are paying the price now. |
