modash: According to their website it says 98% of decisions are made in the 15 days. My question is when to start counting the days?? Are all decisions made in Sheffield or are some done in nigeria?? Because I did my interview a week ago and have not gotten any emails You start counting from the day you submitted your application. Where the decision is made doesn't matter because it wouldn't change the outcome of the application or make the waiting time shorter. |

SAWA17: Yes Sir, length of employment and a table showing my income for the 12 months (before and after tax), resulting in showing the gross at the bottom.
HR have been a nightmare. I requested before I flew out, and upon return, nothing! They are telling 10 working days. If you don't get it from HR or the taxman by the end of the month then submit what you have. Have you tried requesting for it through their website? |

MG2801: Hey everyone, I’m asking for a friend. She had her biometrics on 19/01, standard application but hasn’t had decision made email yet. It’s 62 working days today and she’s going out of her mind. Are Nigerian spouse visa applications experiencing any delays? Can anyone who applied around the same time let me know if they’ve heard back or not?! Thanks She will likely hear from them between now and the end of next week |

SAWA17: Thank for your reply! I just got back from Lagos, and was getting ready to submit when I realised that my p60 for the financial year of 17/18 (it shows the required ammount) has not been released. I have now entered panic mode!
I have the 16/17, but it does not reflect the £18,600 needed. I do have my payslips, letters from employer, and bank statements (all 12 months as I am applying under category B because of 2 incomes, one of which is variable) which show £18,600 plus.
My question is do I need to submit a p60, or am I ok with the information that I have already? I am very that we did a priority submission last Monday, and I am worrying that time is running out waiting for the 17/18 p60!
Many thanks! It stated the length of your employment and your annual gross pay? My p60 arrived weeks ago but you can request for it from inland revenue, go on their website and read up about that or you can speak to HR depart of your company. |

ekpotek: @Justwise. My advise is based on personal experiences. I have had situations to spend fund from my submitted bank account while waiting for a visa decision and it did not affect the outcome. The most important thing is have more than enough in your account in case the ECO want confirm with the bank if the supplied statement is genuine or fake. Beside, no bank has the right to reveal your bank balance to a third party without your consent or court order. If the OP need money to attend to pressing needs, then he’s free to access it, considering that some decisions on many visit visa take months. OmoBendel24: I don't see the wrong in Ekpotek's take dear Justwise and Chloe, no biggy. I have had to wait over half a year for decision on a Canadian visa application while having an ongoing building project that needed attention too, and it got the attention. Visa decision came in late and was approved despite having had the account drawn to less than 10k and increased sometimes above the balance one applied with on several occasions.
Of course one couldn't have had life on standstill na, couldn't even make the trip out after getting the visa till much more later sef because of the timing. That one spends the money in his account, whether on both tangible and intangible things doesn't mean travel plans have been scuttled or affected, let the visa come out, we will travel and still come back home, we all know our pockets, spending patterns and its workings. Just live your normal life, even if visa is denied and there's need to reapply, everything will still be healthy and okay as long as your presented account statement at the first wasn't unnecessarily stage-managed, particularly with borrowed funds.
I for one have a financial life style that is always healthy bank-statement wise, such that worse case scenario, a deliberate running of account for only one month will just regularise any shortcoming therein if there be any at all. Greetings! That is not the same as spending the money budgeted for the trip, that is the vital point of my argument. If you have enough in your bank account then taking money from it does not means that you are spending the money budgeted for the trip. So the point both of you made above is not really related to where I'm driving at. If the embassy wants to know if you have spent the money in your account they can easily go around it legally and get the info from you. |

I submitted my application on the 9th of March and sometimes 2 wks ago, I got a mail from Sheffield that my application was not straight forward. pls I how long will I have to wait and most importantly I need the money in my acct, can I use it ??. thank you for ur responses. That simply means that you can not afford the trip and still sustain yourself in Nigeria, only if you have more than enough in that account. |

ekpotek: Sure it’s your money and you free to use it. What matter is the balance at the time of submission. I have to disagree with you on this, if the money in your account has been budgeted for the trip and you used it even before your visa comes out how then can you afford to finance that trip? |

Bad advice from lawyer not to attend reporting has cost me my life.
Another bad advice by another lawyer telling me to come back to nigeria destroyed me totally. I still don't understand why some people believe this BS about right to family life, its hardly implementable in reality. That said, don't give up yet and allow your wife to follow up with the hearing, you will finally get a visa but the waiting time will keep you awake. Your wife should make an effort to visit you in Nigeria as much as she can while you chase the case, it will end well if you endure the delay |

How long do you think is ideal to have the money stay in the account before I print out my statement of account and after application submission can transfer the money back to my savings account considering the COT charges.
Thank you. Leave your money as its and submit both accounts, moving money around close to visa application is a bad idea. |

Aquaman84: @justwise, please assist with this
I was informed that a person must've worked at least a year in a company before applying for UK visa?? I've been in my previous company 5years plus with crappy pay, got lucky and got a new job through leg of course. I left my old job February 1st week, started my new job second week of February and was given 3months probation which will be completed first week in May, send my application end of May and I'd apply for leave July and travel if all goes well. So this means automatic rejection??
And also, when printing out my bank statement, must I want for the month end before printing it out?/or I can print it out second week of the month or its advisable I wait till month end?? Do you think any company will give you leave letter even before you work for 6months with them? Your current work status is what matters in terms of tie to Nigeria and not your previous employment. Applying for a visa even before you work for 6 months with leave letter is very questionable. |

buddiemm: Good morning Justwise. I didn't ignore your answer to my question please. I read the section 146 in the guidance but it didn't answer my question. Kindly check section 164 of the guidance to understand what am saying please. What happen is that my sister submitted English language proficiency letter from her university and the degree certificate to meet English proficiency in 2012 when she went to UK as minister of religion migrant. She want to reapply afresh for entry clearance from Nigeria and the new law says they should send their certificate to UKNARIC for assessment. But in section 164 of the guidance they stated that points will be awarded automatically for people that had PREVIOUS GRANT OF LEAVE on Tier 2 visa. So I want to know if she wouldn't need to send her certificate to UKNARIC again for assessment once she had once been to the UK as a Tier 2 minister of religion migrant. Thanks If that is the case then she doesn’t need to submit any document from UKNARIC. Her main task now is to address the reason why her previous permit was cancelled |

edmasta01: Thanks very much justwise. I was thinking of putting the rent receipts to show that they have ties at home. I checked online on how to prove ties back to home country and the list includes:
1. Proof of residence 2. Source of income e.g. from business or job 3. Investment e.g. landed property.
My dad has been refused once before and was denied because we couldn't proof "ties" to the home country despite that I provide documents to show that I am funding the entire trip (although i didn't put the monthly stipends i send to them monthly via western union as proof).
Kindly advise further. Thanks Home tie got nothing to do with rented accommodation as the property does not belong to them. |

The budgeted amount is for three people(me, spouse and 1 year old boy) for 12 days.
Do I need our email correspondence or documents showing my wife's previous name and her sister previous name before change of name?(Both surname are the same). They have agreed to send the documents to me showing the wife's previous name before marriage.
Did you include any communication with your inlaw? Yes email correspondence, whats app chats, phone log, pictures etc, any form of communication evidence between him and you or your wife |

Amolad111: @Epoteck and Justwise,
I just picked up my family passports but we were refused on the ground that my in laws who invited us did not show any documents that we are related.
Also, the ECO stated that the proposed fund for the trip is 1.3m as against 715k stated in the application form.
The total amount in my account is 1.3M.
My in-laws intend to appeal the decision from UK. Will this suffice? And what's the way forward? Did you include any communication with your inlaw? The amount you budgeted for the trip is far more than what you earn and that is a problem. |

edmasta01: Please kindly help...
I am inviting my mum to visit me in the UK to see our new son. She is in her 50's.and she has visited once before about 7 years ago.
She is a house wife but I send her monthly stipends 50k monthly and my dad is a retired business man (in his early 70's) (who I send monthly stipends to as well with documentation to proof this)
I am sponsoring the entire trip and will provide the following:
1. My mortgage statement, 2. bank account showing enough funds for the trip, 3. Invitation letter 4. payslip from my job 5. Document showing monthly stipend transfer (western union)
There are two issues that I need clarification on:
1. They live in a rented apartment for now which I pay for yearly (I have proof to show transfer of funds to pay rent for last year 2017)
However, the Landlord (who is an auto-mechanic) uses receipts of his autobusiness to write a rent receipt for the past two years for their rent.
Is it suitable for me to include these exact rent receipts (past two years) in their application with a letter from the landlord stating that he use his auto-shop business receipt to show that he collect payments?
I say this as this is not an official rent receipt as he is a private landlord. unfortunately, they are not able to locate the original rent agreement from ages ago.
Previous payment for rent from other years except last two years has been done in cash in hand as the landlord is cordial with my parents.
2. Also, how can I prove that my mum have family ties. is it sufficient for my dad to write a letter giving permission for my mum to travel (with a photocopy of his passport data page) alongside with their bank statements showing funds i send to them monthly?
Note: No, they don't have any pension documents or salary income from other official sources apart from the ones i send to them monthly and they can provide bank statement showing that they receive this stipends from me monthly.
Do kindly advise on this please. thanks. 1. You don't need to bother yourself about rent receipts the most important thing is to submit all evidence of money sent to they monthly or yearly and explain that in the form. 2, Yes that is ok, |

senors: My little experience with UK visa application is even if its conference being sponsored by the employer, they still check individual financial circumstance to sponsor such trip without 3rd party sponsorship. Certainly Its expected that other income source be declared with say a backing bank statement. I assume the person must have addressed that in his/her visa app as that monthly pay I guess can't get one a UK visa except some supernatural involvement that influences such ECO decision if such visa is granted. Fact. |
