I'm not advising anyone please (the question seems hypothetical to me at best) but if in a bid to keep the trend logical, the NGN salary moved from 200k to 5m in less than 15years, I wouldn't bank on it when deciding my future.

The quality of life a N5000,000/month can give you in Nigeria is incomparable to what a measly £30,000/year nursing starting salary can give in the UK. A family in which one earner earns that much in Nigeria can build and/or rent a mansion. A nurse starting salary would struggle to rent a decent flat, let alone qualify for a mortgage. If we even factor in future salary increment in the UK to justify our reasoning, we should also then consider that she would also get an increment in the 5M salary in Nigeria at some point. IF the future of the children is the reason for the move, a few months of savings can allow her sponsor the kids to study in the UK until they can function independently.

If I were in her shoes, I will take the Nigeria job offer. Work and save aggressively for a few years. Visit the UK and spend time understanding the way the system works here for nurses. Do some research into America as well. If I earned that much in Nigeria before I came to the UK in 2009, I wouldn't have made the decision to come.

I struggle to understand why some of us immigrants support a con man like Trump. When you losten to those mentioned folks, you see most of their anti-illegal immigration stuff is a smoke screen. Their main concern is the changing demography and increasing attainment of minorities. They then go on to paint previous decades before this change as some utopia to rally their fan base so they can 'make America/UK/AUS/Can great again. Yes, I don't support uncontrolled undocumented immigration but as we've seen with the recent UK election campaign and riots, to many of these nut heads, any non-white person = illegal immigrant.

How does this share code thing work? A family friend has been working with a care company since 2019 on spouse visa, renewed the visa twice and two months ago he applied for ILR and two weeks ago his company contacted him requesting for his share code as his visa has expired, he replied to inform them that he doesn’t have one and never worked with one, he sent them letter from HO indicating that he has applied for ILR.

The company did not get back to him but last week as he was getting ready to leave for work he saw a message from the work group platform that changes have been made to his shift, he checked and noticed that they have removed all his shifts.

He called them to find out and was told that it was because of the share code issue.


Does he have a case against this company?

Yes you can withdraw the application and start another before decision is made , there is a link on govt website that will take you through the process but that application fees and IHS will not be refunded immediately, it could take a month or two before they refund you.

Your visa application fees would not be refunded. Only your IHS fees would be refunded.

If you have money do another application. The most recent application would override your previous one. You'll get refunded in full for the previous application
