Baywood: So, what do you suggest?
1. Get my company to act as a sponsor while I get the money from my brother.
2. Top up my account to say 1.6 Million Naira and then use my brother as sponsor. Non of that will get you a visa. You take a foreign trip especially to a place like the UK when you can afford it else your chances are pretty slim |
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by justwise(mod): 11:42am On Sep 25, 2017 |
Baywood: 1. I'm still employed by the company.
2. Must one sponsor his trip? I don't think so. Yes as a working class adult you must sponsor or proof that you can sponsor your leisure trip because the ability to do that gives you strong tie to Nigeria. |

Baywood: Justwise...
My friend in UK, who's also a British citizen has sent me: * Invitation Letter * Data page of his British Passport
My brother has given me: * His 6 months bank statement with balance of 2.6 Million Naira.
My employer has given me: * Letter outlining when I was employed and my monthly salary and the approval to travel.
I have gotten my: * 6 months bank statement with the balance of 800,000 Naira. * 6 months payslip * Wedding certificate * Traditional marriage and wedding pictures * Wife and child picture with me.
My monthly salary is 120,000 Naira and I spend like 70,000 Naira every month.
I planned to spend 600,000 Naira for the trip, covering only flight tickets and few expenses.
My friend in the UK will feed and accommodate me. I plan to stay only 4 weeks.
The 600,000 Naira I planned to spend will be given to me by my brother.
Please, check. Is there any other documents I will need to include?
Thank you sir. 1. Are you still employed by the company? 2. Your friend in the UK needs to send you his tenancy agreement/mortgage paper, bank statement etc I don't think your chances of getting a visa is high because you are unable to sponsor this trip yourself. |

MrsElendu: Hello Everyone! I have been reading for sometime now and I have learned a lot. I and my husband made a spouse visa application about 15 months ago which was rejected and we appealed. We only just won our appeal about a week ago after it got to the tribunal. The judge allowed the appeal on the grounds of human rights seeing as we have a 2 year old daughter who is British and has never been to the uk.
My question now is how long does it take from when your appeal is allowed till when u get your visa? Would I have to send my passport to Sheffield? What is the procedure?
Please Justwise and all the gurus in the house, would really appreciate any help given at this time.
Thank you I hope your case will be different but after the 15 working days given to home office to appeal or issue you a visa, they can decide to delay the process for up to a month or more, yes you will be asked to submit your passport for visa then that is when the delay game starts. |

Proof of relationship is very important, call history, chat log, emails(not just 1 or 2 days, months-years of them) Pictures, both current and old. evidence of gift sent..money or material gift etc |

Darla: Good evening all. I hope our day's going well? My sister has been refused her UK visa to join her husband who is a full-time pastor with one of the the big churches. Please find attached the letter that came with the refusal. She submitted everything they asked for. Please I'd like some advice and pointers to what to do next. She applied in exactly 6weeks ago. With an "A-rated sponsor". 1. Her sponsor is her husband's employer(the church). There was a letter from them. 2. She submitted husband's documents(utility bills, rent agreement, his visa, etc.) 3. Marriage cert., pictures from registry, health surcharge...In short, the whole nine yards.
And they have concluded all the traditional and church wedding ceremonies last weekend.
So what do we do? She is devastated and I live in Europe. The least I could do is help her fire back.
Thank you.

Baywood: Hello house. Thank you, justwise. I have been a guest reader for 2 years now. Today, I decided to register because I have a question to ask.
My question is - If someone in Nigeria, a brother is sponsoring his brother for visit to a friend in the UK, is it only the bank account statement of the sponsor that's needed or will the person being sponsored also submit his own bank account statement?
Thank you. Yes and proof of source of that money |

Tfree: Hi Justwise,
My husband and I would like my 21yr old brother to visit and spend Xmas with us this year in Scotland just for two weeks. We are fully sponsoring his journey, he’ll be staying with us. However, he’s a student, he has his finally exams and thesis next year. I’m aware it will be difficult once he’s graduated to visit us, so just want to use the opportunity for him to physically meet his two nephews, until they are old enough to journey to Nigeria.
What are his chances of being granted being a student, we have all necessary documents from our side that I can think of and can financially more than cover his journey. We’ve had my mum spend Xmas with us in 2013 (he’s documented in her form as a dependent as he was under 18 then), so i’m aware for documents required for a worker, but not sure for students applying for visitors visa. What supporting documents would he need apart from letter from his school, proof of studying at Uni, his bank statement. Do we need any documents from of our parents, although he’s an adult but he’s dependent on them financially for everything.
Also, it’ll be his first time of applying to any embassy. We are hoping to apply in the next couple of weeks. I hope we haven’t left it too late to apply.
Many thanks Yes with student its a bit tricky but still possible, apart from the documents you listed already he needs to add his admission letter, progress report(previous results) term timetable. his thesis proposal document(if that is available ) and school fees receipts. |

kokoboy4life: @justwise good evening, if am to submit my application on 26/9/17 for a seminar program starting on 7th of November how many days/weeks would my application stay in the U.K. Embassy because I have read on here several times how people complains about longevity treatment of visa application. Thanks Sorry that this is coming late, having internet problem at the moment. Judging by recent development its difficult to predict how long visa application takes to be approved, so you just have to risk it. |

ayooluwatoni: @Egbon Justwise, I don't think the problem is with the website sir, I think people use 3rd party because the person requesting for GCMS must have a status in Canada. So I want to suggest we look for a way that can actually solve the problem. How can those already in Canada help people on this thread get GCMS? Or how can we simplify the process of requesting for GCMS? Please help us work on that sir. If I say I should help, how many people will I be able to help.....? $5 is not a lot, but $5 x 10 becomes $50. And that's just for 10 people, so if there are 20 people, how do I choose those I wanna help without being labeled as being partial?
I'm just throwing this up to you sir and of course to other ppl on this thread. Please let's come up with good suggestions.
It is saddening that on such a forum like this, some evil people would still wanna take advantage of other people. It sure cannot be well with such people. Well, I'm waiting for ideas.
NB: By help, I mean free of charge. With no form of remuneration at all. People have to sort that out themselves and find a way of paying for GCMS, we are not going to recommend anybody or any other website apart from the official one. Trust no Nigerian with your money. |

tush1986: @bane001... well av been following this thread for months now and I have read and digested all the posts here at present and in the years past... I really must give kudos to just wise and other gurus here... as for you question, I will state explicitly that never should you attempt to make a visa application when your maintenance funds has fallen below the funds required regardless of the fact that you had the required amount on the start date... I noticed that just wise has said it over and over again that it wouldn't pose a problem for an applicant so far he has the required funds from day one but that isn't actually true cos those ECO follow the rules stringently... it's not just wise fault to assume his position as that regards cos I carefully noticed he adds that he hasn't seen any person rejected on the basis of fluctuations of the Oanda rate and this is basically because people that got their visa refused based on these issue never bother to come back to this thread and drop their feedback so as to prevent other people from making such mistakes. Rather they lack their wounds and maintain I do not believe that, not even a single person since 2009? They all had a meeting and decided to keep quiet? Your case is the first and you shouldn't use it to generalize. I still maintain that one can not keep on topping up maintenance money each time exchange rate goes up. |

However, considering the current high points for Engineering professions, I will advice you nominate civil engineering draftsperson for faster ITA.
Someone here recently received grant with the same occupation. Read the last five pages to know the person and liaise together on his job descriptions for vetasses.

Does she work and earn at least £27,000 a year or have that amount in savings? You people are misinterpreting that rule. Read the rule here https://www.gov.uk/uk-family-visa/proof-income |
