jnyuwa02: As far as I know, Canada has only biometrics agreements with only the United States to share in their respective database info. This fact is buttressed by the fact that I have never read a GCMS notes where it said someone applied for a UK, Australia, Germany, Newzealand visas, etc, was denied and refused to disclose it. It's always about applying for USA Visa. If I am wrong someone has ever seen on a denial by CIC where it indicated someone applied for another country other than USA visa and refuse to disclose it, therefore misrepresented, let them speak out!! I stand to be corrected.
On the issue of checking social media and Google to check information about someone, sounds to me like what authoritarian China would do, not a totally freedom loving country like Canada. There is no evidence to back up such assertions that CIC goes looking for people on their Facebook account just because they applied for Canada visa. If they do, that is terribly wrong and unfair. How about if a five year old put some scathing and scandalous information about me on the internet that has no basis in any truth?
That said, I was stopped in my tracks when someone here sent me his GCMS notes and the VO indicated that "online presence," had completed and nothing was found! That one scared the BaJesus out of me. I did not know what to make of online presence that they said they had completed. So will be nice if anyone ever had any experience with this so called "online presence," enlighten the house.
I doubt CIC calls friends of people and referees, I have no experience with tnat. Quite to the contrary, What I have seen is people frustrated that CIC denied them visa without calling their employers and referees they provided letters from to CIC and Kept those friends and referees everyday on standby, should CIC call.
My five cents. They do, google 'The high value data sharing protocol' |

drakeli: So that you can apply abi? Ok let me help a brother by naming just one which in my opinion is the least of them. You can be making package delivery for amazon if you have a car and tax id number. You don't have to be legal before you can legally have a tax id and a car. You can be doing this while you are busy at other things. I just said this so that you guy should understand I know what I'm saying. Amazon only ask for social security number, but when you offer them your tax id number, they accept it. Remember this is one of the jobs Americans don't wanna do. But you can do it while doing other jobs. You know how many Nigerian illegals that I know working for them using tax id? Of course you people don't know what tax id is.
That's why I said if you don't have your hands on the proper information, you will only be going by popular beliefs that certain things are not possible. Until you meet the actual people. No you don't, you are just like many Nigerians who come here to tell piles of lies just to be seen as a nice guy. American govt will not officially allow a company to employ illegal immigrants as you falsely claimed here. Do not use this section to encourage illegal activities again |

Ademidun1: Hello gurus in the house, I've been out of the country for one year and few months, working legally in Qatar . I just got job in U.K. and got COS already. I want to apply for visa, pls do I need to still do TB test or I'm exempted for the TB test? N.B- I left Nigeria last year July, came in June for my vacation, went back to Qatar in June ending and came back to the country yesterday to apply for the visa. I'll await advice on this. Thank you. If Qatar is not in the list of countries that need TB test then you are good to go. |

hohia: I don't think I insulted anyone but I said the fact and out of experience. I am currently hosting someone here now on a six month visa but applied with 3 weeks. This is not the 1st, 2nd or 3rd successful invitation application and renewal. Don't say firmly based on isolated cases you heard without knowing the root cause. There is nothing wrong with staying one month in the UK no matter what you stated in your application my dear. This is wrong and misleading at its best |

Webmank: @brightingsus&bigbus,i have 6months visa already.but on my application form i wrote 2week but now d ticket she sent 10th oct to 7th nov..maybe i should ask her to reduce the stay to 2weeks?thanks for ur responses If you don't want to have problem with immigration at the airport or during visa renewing stick to your 2wks holiday else for the fact that you are holding one month return ticket for 2wks holiday is an indication that you don't plan to stay just 2wks as stated in your application form |

hohia: Guys, some of the responses here are absolutely misleading and ridiculous and you guys give it as an authority instead of as a suggestion. There is nothing bad in keeping quiet when a question you are not confident about is asked so others can contribute.
If you put 3 weeks in an application and you are given 6 months means you are free to stay up to six months but not more than six months. Of course because of income consideration and cost of holidays and limited salary its better to put 2 or 3 weeks but you can stay more than that as long as you have a place to stay or prove you can pay hotel for the period you want to stay.
Again about filling London in the form and planning to stay in Edinburgh makes no difference. It is a UK visa. Of course people come to Heathrow on coach from 'Edinburgh to travel to other parts of the world because it is cheaper. Same applies if you fly to London first from Nigeria. That wouldn't raise an eyebrow.
Please guys know that this is online and people are reading from all parts of the world including the UK. You are actually misleading him and not people you insulted. When you applied for visa and indicated two weeks or a month you are expected to stick to that stated number of weeks and not the whole 6months visa duration for so many reasons. 1. If you applied as a worker to spend your one month leave and got the visa, you are not expected to spend more than one month because of your job back home and for the fact that you presented budget breakdown for that one month and not 6months. 2.What will you be doing in the UK for 2,3,4-6months if you are a business owner or work in Nigeria? How are you able to sustain yourself throughout that period? Webmank will be likely sent back from the airport if the immigration saw that he indicated 2wks but holding one month return ticket, if he got away with it then renewing that visa will be a tough task. Given 6months visa does not means that you should stay 6months when you should be back in Nigeria to your work or business. |

LadyGuinivere: Exactly! He lied. Several times. Sought for advice. Was told to own up. TW said he would never get a visa no matter what. Thats the basis of the discourse above. History will show that I do not take the issue of quoting God and misrepresenting at the same tym lightly. I also give advice on logic not on faith usually. My stand is on a general view point of the Bible. If you make your ways right, God is waiting to catch you. If you confess, He is faithful and just to forgive all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 Now if God can forgive a murderer or a rapist, it's logical that He can make anything possible. Let's be real here now. When you want something, and u can't get it, it's a big deal. Whether it's a pair of sneakers, or snickers the chocolate, a husband ,baby or visa it's a biggie. I'll use myself as an example. When I was refused UK and US visas, it Was annoying and a bridge I had to cross cos that's who I am. I learnt and reapplied. Now I have globe trotted finish, it isn't a biggie anymore. Let's not belittle the ones still seeking to see outside Naija. While to you it may be " whatever" to them it's "something " However. For emphasis sake, do not misrepresent. It isn't worth it. At all!
LagosNiv if you will, we would appreciate another comment on "born again misrepresenters" . Thank you.
Meanyl. It's my birthday in a couple of hours/days/ weeks. I no go mind birthday greetings. Lol Yes when you want something but can't afford it or qualify to get it then wait until you can afford/qualify and not lie through your back teeth or steal because you want it and when you get caught you remember the name of God |

nadina: I agree with you Lady G. God is Sovereign. He controls the affairs of men here on earth. He has also given us humans free will and will not intercept that freewill unless the actions of one is going to affect His Sovereign will. That been said, there are consequences for our actions. But there is also the mercy of God which God's children enjoy freely. God chooses to show mercy on whoever He wants to and He has the heart of kings in his hands including the Visa officers.
I am a living proof that God's mercies can make one not receive the punishment for wrong doing even if it was a deliberate act..I had an experience at the US embassy years ago and God's mercy showed up on my behalf and i did not receive the punishment of a ban after coming out clean and confessing my wrong in a fresh application.
Those of us who are God's children enjoy this benefit on a daily basis. That is not the same as people who keep misrepresenting and still believe that they will fool the VOs because God pass VOsVOs here always encourage people to come clean with their previous lies |

LadyGuinivere: I'm going to drop my likle here. First. Misrepresenters get visa. Yes. The reputation is harmed but we have read transcripts where finally folks who lied in the past got visas.
Second. I have learnt to never say never. I have been here long enough to see stuff I didn't expect. Take for example, the lady doing her masters without any apparent tie. I was surprised she got a visa.
Finally. It is my opinion that God controls everything. However that is not an excuse to be indolent in research or misrepresent and expect a miracle. I believe that he who comes to equity must do so with clean hands.
@Jw crap happens. I know. So much crap have I seen. But I still just believe. Suicide bombers did their thing. Judas did his thing. Whenever I wonder, I just remember the scripture, " the Lord sits in heaven and doeth as He pleases" . But let's not forget man has free will. All the way from Eden....the choice to bomb is man's own A genuine student will get a visa tie or no tie, not the same with visiting visa. My point is this..so often here when people got their knickers in a twist with visa fraud God becomes their focal point and they refused to accept their mistakes. The fact that VO saw through their pile of lies is not the cause of refusal, its just not God's time to give them visa. Why do we always forget to use that God given conscience for the right thing but when it comes to fraudulent things we instantly become Albert Einstein |

Now we're planning for a month xmass vacation between december and January to Edinburgh instead of London as mentioned in the application; is it safe?. My wife and kids would be staying in her friend's place not mentioned in the application; please how safe is that?, I would not be travelling with them due to my work, I really need advice. thnx If the plan is to visit London first then Edinburgh then nothing is wrong with that, did they plan to stay in hotel before? |

Nogen: Sometimes It happens without the person's consent. Some of them are just overzealous. I have a friend who is widely traveled but used an agent for a Canadian visa. She submitted hwr documents but the agent added a few more which were not authentic. This happened 2 years ago. She was asked questions on the documents submitted. She replied she didn't include that in her application and also stated she used an agent.
She was informed of the consequences of submitting fake documents either by proxy or otherwise. She got a 5 year ban as a result. She just sticks to the US travels now while serving her ban. Yes but in this case johnsonm2g knew about the plan to use fraudulent document by the agent. |

Nogen: People should always be truthful while filling their forms. How can someone with solid 6 years of civil service claim another company? It beats my imagination seriously! Don't allow agents mess up your dreams by giving you fake documents. I have never used an agent before because of their illegal ways of doing things.
It is better he comes clean. He can't continue to use an unknown and non existing company. The agent has even run away and he is left all alone to sort himself out!
At this juncture, he needs to use his true profile but he has to first do a good SOE explaining what the agent did to him.
Mind you, it could earn you a 5 year ban. Yes, it happened to a friend. You could also be forgiven. All the best! I have to disagree with you there, he did that to himself and should not blame the agent. It was not done without his knowledge and he is the beneficiary. |

Are you suggesting that the agent used fake employment details and sponsor without your knowledge? You gave him your employment details and your daddy as a sponsor but he decided to use a fake one? |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by justwise(mod): 7:19am On Oct 01, 2017 |
Austinpee4: He can still be your employer but not your sponsor. So there is still nothing here that should be an issue. Fill exactly what you filed in your last application. This is why it is always advisable to be consistent with PROOF especially dealing with immigration issues. If the actually have filed your details in the GCMS database, it will be there for a long time and will be used as reference for other of your applications even when you get pass the study permit. So make sure your info are same, if there are any changes, back it up with proof.
Like i mentioned about the sponsor, there is no issue in using a different sponsor after using another in an earlier application. You are soiling your reputation here with this questionable advise. |

Jarus: Finally submitted my applications and documents this afternoon by 3pm.
Applied for passport renewal on Tuesday and got it today Rushed straight to complete the priority service application form and paid $460 priority service fee Printed the form, attached the docs, and gatecrashed at the TLS VI office without appointment (thankfully, it's 5 minutes drive from my office) Paid extra 30k for walk-in Done with my biometrics by 3pm
So I have 10 working days between now and my travel day. I hope I'm able to pull this through.
PS: I didn't attach bank statement. My company is sponsoring this trip. My hotel, flight and even pick-up taxi booking at Heathrow have been booked from our London office and all documents to show that were attached. The letter of introduction was also included, which says the company will sponsor and also has information about what I was going for as well as my pay (which is 7-digit per month). I also attached my tax printout which shows my income and taxes paid for the last 5 years. I didn't attach bank statement in last year application too and got the visa. I think this too should fly, even without bank statement - time is my only worry. Used standard last year and got the visa within 11 working days (submission to collection). Now using priority service and got 10 days to travel date. You will be fine without the bank statement |

Brightingsus: I agree with you, but only partially. Inasmuch as what you say is correct, it's only correct if it's a standard visitor visa where you are ordinarily not allowed to spend more than 6 months at a go.
But remember, there are other visit visas that are neither 6 months, 2 years nor 5 or 10 years validity. There is a visit visa for 11 months which is for private medical treatment in the UK. A potential patient under this type who can prove they require more than 6 months treatment in the UK can stay beyond 6 months. Also, what about visit visa of 12 months for Academics TB test is only for immigrant visas, never for visiting visa despite the duration. |
