marylandcakes: My question is despite all these, they are human beings like you and I. Do they deserve to be treated this way by the Libyans? Some part of me feel sorry for them watching that clip especially the lady that gave birth in the toilet and the baby died, i cried when i saw the sort of food they are eating and the condition of the place they are staying. That said, i have no sympathy for many of them using boko haram and the condition of things in Nigeria as an excuse to embark on that deadly journey |

Ollycka: I will explain the source of the money then. I'm including my personal acct because whenever I get paid, I transfer money from my Salary acct to my personal, I never spend directly from my Salary acct. that is how I've always operated the acct for years, would this be a problem for me?
Also my husband gives me upkeep every month, some months he transfers it into my acct, some months he gives me cash, I think the last time he transferred into my acct was in December, 1)do I need to explain this too? 2) Do I tell him to transfer the one for this month to me or just collect the cash?
Truthfully,The way I feel, I don't want to yarn too much for fear of being refused again and I wouldn't want one stupid transfer to jeopardise my chances, I have enough money for my trip, which I saved up from my salary already. That exactly what you need to do briefly in your application form because you are not going to be there to explain those transactions to the ECO. |

marylandcakes: The smugglers are the product of the interference of the western world in the government of Libya. This has led to a state of anarchy and the ill treatment of these Africans. Libya has never been a safe place for African immigrants even when Gaddafi was alive. The only difference now is that foreign reporters are able to have access to detention camps like the one you saw in that clip, if Gaddafi was alive no foreign reporter would have got close to prisons where many African immigrants are locked up. There is a particular heart breaking clip by done channel 4 during the Libyan war where African immigrants(mostly Nigerians) were pleading for their lives with the TV crew to stay with them because Libyan army will execute them if left alone. Those Nigerians using boko haram as an excuses are all lying. |

youngestland: 200 naira is a forcast because it might be higher or lower in 15yrs time unless he will get to usa today and work one year and save 120k dollars
then I was waiting for someone to bring this up the guy in nigeria earning 400k now cannot remain at 400k in 15yrs too now.... so lets dont calculate with salary increament lets calculate with what they both earn right now Bro you don't make life decisions on assumptions and most importantly you don't compare earnings in Nigeria and what it can afford you to that of any developed country. |

Ollycka: Please from How much is termed as money lodgement? It's not about the amount it's about the action. If you have declared in your application that you don't have any other source of income then any money seen in your account other than your salary will be questioned. That is why you need to explain it if you will be submitting that account to support your visa application |

youngestland: bros please read o I said lets peg the dollar at 200naira it could be more or less unless you can tell me what exchange rate will be in the year 2032 bros there are jobs that pay And I used that amount because thats the amount this guy is earning now Simply put if this guy leaves nigeria now that he has attained this level of 400k in 15years he will be able to save half of what he would have saved in nigeria this is still my own opinion o plss I am still waiting for people in usa to tell me if he can make more than what I calculated legally pls legally o If you are using his current salary then why are you using 200 naira as dollar exchange rate? Do you believe that somebody in US with a starting salary of $3k a month will still be earning the same amount in 15yrs time? |

Ollycka: Good morning to all the gurus here who have been keeping this thread alive with their useful advise and info. Please I have an urgent question to ask;
1)If someone sends me money(200k) as a birthday gift 2months before my application, would this be termed as money lodgement? The money was sent to me in march on my birthday and there was a description when the money was sent, Although I have spent the money already but I just want to know if this would affect my application. Thanks. Any money paid into your salary account that is not your salary need to be explained. Give brief explanation about the source |

youngestland: Apextitan and alikote leave that matter you guys have derailed too on the subject matter....
I like this subject and it really concerns me I am still in nigeria although I was almost going january I had to sit down and drafted my future in usa and my future in nigeria.
please this is fully My OWN OPINION so dont come and bash me or insult me just correct me expecially does abroad I may not know too well whats optainable there but using my relative has a nurse in usa
now lets do this maths a man 25 yrs nigerian gets a job after school pays him 400k a month he decides he will stay with his parents for a while since its thier house and its very comfortable so every month he spends 100k on expenses and saves 300k in five yrs he has saved 18millon he decides to rent a house when got to 30yrs so lets 100k from his savings thats 200k left now in another 10 yrs he would have saved 24million total now is 42million tell me that guy cant buy a land in a good part in lagos and build a bungalow for himself and build something else for tenants and from there live a good life.......
now at 25 he decides usa he gets going to school getting his papers right and start a good job will take like 5 yrs he is now a nurse start up salary is 3k dolls at 30yrs he decides to save 1k every month in 10yrs he would have saved 120k dolls if he decides to come to nija with the money (lets peg the dollar at 200naira when he decides to come it could be more or less) that means he has 24 million naira
my take on both life is the guy that decided to stay in nigeria is wiser.... This is exactly what I calculated that made me not leave nigeria then and it was too late for me to leave at my age in january when I was to choose again
so the guy saying nigerians to build houses many bankers at age 40 are staying in their own houses now not to talk of other biz men and oil workers...... I am a living example Do you really believe this your calculation? |

chukxie: The essence of the article was to highlight the money making scheme of some embassies in Nigeria that deliberately deny people visas even after such people must have met all the stringent visa requirements. That my friend, was the message the writer was trying to pass across. .. and i'm also telling you that the message is misleading and wrong. |

Are you sure about that figure? Any link from Homeoffice to support that? |

chukxie: Personally, I think the writer has made some valid points because it's common knowledge that some embassies in Nigeria are making tons of money from deliberately denying people visas. Nigerians who possess passports of countries like the UK, USA, Canada etc don't know how painful visa denial is. How can you empathize with someone when you've never been in the person's shoes? They charge Nigerians the same amount Nigerian embassies in their countries charge their citizens. They make more money in Nigeria because there are more Nigerians willing to sale their souls to travel to Europe. They make more money because they have better universities, hospitals, tourist attractions many Nigerians are willing to pay thousands to go and study, get treatment and visit. Don't blame them for making legitimate money. |

This is not an academic writing, whoever wrote that did not do a single research to support his points. This is basically a travel agent rambling on about issue he knew very little about. |

rinw: Hello gurus in the house. During my previous application I stated that I will spend 1week just to ve a lean budget. But I spent 13days in the UK. Now I want to renew will this affect d decision? How do I explain this or I should just be silent since I didn't over stay d visa. Please kindly advise. If spotted by the ECO treating your next application yes it will affect your application. When given a 6months multiple entry visa it does not mean that you are allowed to stay for 6months or more than what you stated in your application. Visa is issued to you based on your budget for that particular trip, what is why questions like: How much do you have for this trip AND How much is the cost of the trip to you. So if you budgeted for 2weeks trip and have money for that 2weeks but ended up staying for 3-4 weeks, the question is: How did you sustain yourself and what were you doing in the UK? |
