sleyflash: yes I did Since you did that and they still requested that you write IELTS then go ahead and do that. I'm not sure going through NARIC is the answer. |

jossyking10: Good afternoon justwise & co. Please I have a question to ask. My brother is having his convocation soon in the UK. He married a briton and both of them are living in 1-bedroom flat. Can he give me accommodation document. I mean can he send me his tenancy agreement and utility bills that am going to stay with them and be responsible for feeding and my accommodation? I was once a student in the UK and working in Nigeria now with net pay of 150k monthly. Thanks. That is not a good idea, make an alternative accommodation arrangement |

toluine56: You think your view is reasonable? Living in the US for a year or two without a job. After your UK sojourn probably it took you 10years to get a menial job and that's what you refer to as working hard? Sacarsm I guess
Be smarter next time and by smart I don't mean doing anything illegal cos that'll be your next call. Clearly you knew nothing about me, never visited US let alone lived there, my assessment of your character was spot on. No sensible individual make such a rash assumption with no single credible evidence. |

sleyflash: Hi Justwise and everyone here.. Great job you guys are doing. Please someone should assist me in clarifying my thoughts on this. I applied to a college in london uk (Diploma in biblical and theological studies) but they requested for score an IELTS band of 7 for my ukvi purpose. I was informed by a friend to do NARIC English Assessment (if you don’t want to write the IELTS test and you are a graduate you can go through naric route by sending them your degree certificate (must be a 4 year course and above),Transcript and a letter from your school confirming you studied there and you were taught in English during the duration of your study and they will assess and give you a English level satisfactory letter.
Pls is this accepted both by the school and uk embassy?
Thanks and God bless u Did you send your degree certificate to them during your admission application? |

toluine56: If you've been in the US, Canada for a year plus and you're unemployed, its either you're lazy, or just using it as a faucet to be selfish. My friend that just got to Ca less than a year ago does cleaning jobs and he still sends little stipends to his younger sis in Naija every two months though little. When you make a comment like this ^^ then i have to question what you do for a living. toluine56: Yes it does. Subtly throwing shades at people is arrogance. You can still make a point without sounding arrogant. You were insinuating that I haven't earned a living honestly/dishonestly. That statement speaks volumes Mr. in case you don't know. |

moonraker: Pretty much the point i was trying to make... When you tell people that, they immediately play dumb and re-emphasize that point of
helping no matter what. Your last 10 kobo, just send it in the name of helping while you go hungry for the rest of the month, smh I stood my ground on that with my family members and they can be as angry as they want but i will not send money home for white elephant projects or over floated business ideas. Sometimes ago one needed a small amount to set up a business and i complied but my recent trip to Nigeria exposes the fact that he never used that money to start up that business and i did not bother to ask him. People are busy checking exchange rate for you as if you earn in £ or $ and spend in naira. |

toluine56: To your question, Yes I have, and i'm also wondering if someone else who typed this trash, you'll probably give a ban straightaway. When did earning a honest living translate into not helping people or what exactly is your point? My problem with most people commenting on this thread is that they didn't read up and fail to understand where this discussion is coming from, besides it's not compulsory to comment on every thread. Drop your arrogance for once Mr. Chief Honourable Justwise. Thank you. So pointing out your misguided opinion about leaving abroad and condition of things has now translated to arrogance? It just goes to show the type of person you are hence your view on this issue. People leaving abroad without a job for a year or two does not means they are lazy or using it as an excuse not to help anybody back home. Again if you work and making an honest living then you should understand that not everybody has disposable income at a certain time to carry out a big money project back home. Its very naive to assume that because one is living abroad for some yrs that individual will be in a position to help relatives back home without knowing that person's situation. |

If the family over here in Naija is well to do, then there'll be no need to help them in the first place. Now if someone travels out, completes his education and is unable to do something worthwhile either abroad or back home here with his/her foreign degree, that's a typical failure without apologies. I know there are exceptions, but 70% of them live comfortably at the end of it all. You made a lot of false assumptions that lead me to wonder if you have ever worked and earn an honest living either home or abroad. |

dprinz99: t I don't know the simple truth u still want.u can study in nigeria, that is the simple truth.the comparison was between UK,canada,us and Germany and the guy said that Germany is better .do u know how much u will pay for only tuition fees in the above listed country?please tell me the truth u want to hear coz i don't understand u.in canada u pay a huge sum of 8-10cad$ and still spend close to 5csd$ on you accommodation and upkeep .america is worse and uk is a no go area.imagine paying £18k in uk just to uptain the same degree I can get with less than €1k in Germany, gosh ,which other truth do u want to hear?a freind in uk was sent a message 6months before graduation informing him that he has less than 6months to spend in the uk after pumping in nothing less than £50k for the 4years he has spent there .bros which other truth do u want to hear? I don't post randomly mixing unrelated issues together like some of you here do. If you don't see those 3 specific points i made regarding his post then don't bother quoting me. |

The last time shawbabe was involved in a fight here she was banned along with few people AND yesterday shawbabe alone was banned but many of you are still here talking about impartiality and having a soft spot for her. |

Olanrewaju92: Guy step up, the money is urs that's why it's called a blocked account. When u get to Germany u get access to it. The real deal is no one is taking advantage of ur financial buoyancy if u have the €8000 on ground for payment. If u try UK, US, Canada for study matter eeeehn na all una family and village members go contribute money (sorry being vulgar but I'm truthful here) for u after which dem fit deny u sef say ur account no dey legit or genuine because dem no trust Nigerians. Funny enough with ur hard earned money wey u get legitimately say u wan go develop deir country, dem still fit deny U visa. Dem no send u come oooo because Dem bliev b say even if Dem give Nigerians visa deir trust for us is not more than 5% Dude stop blowing hot air and say things as its. Don't lie about how things work in other countries just because you preferred Germany for free tuition fees. 1. German embassy also refuse Nigerians visa for so many reasons 2. You don't get hold of the whole amount in your blocked account when you get to German 3. You still have to pay monthly insurance which varies depending on your age at the time of application. Yes studying in Germany is tuition fee free but its not free in real sense of it. Telling people an honest truth will help them make an informed decision. |

nefertitiram: Secretly, Justwise is enjoying the catfights. Perhaps it brings traffic to the thread. Anything for the money. If not, I don't understand why she has not been given a lifetime ban. Infact, 2 consecutive lifetime bans. Rule number 2 was broken over and over again, yet nothing. Imagine the disgusting behaviour by someone's mother in a public forum. No decorum, no self respect. Appalling! Let me take that as a bad joke because i don't know what to enjoy in this show of shame that played out here. Shawbabe is as bad as many people here involved in the fight |

If you're going to be fair and not partial (not that it grates me in any way anyways) why leave the posts where Ms. Resident Schizo called me stupid several times and hide the hearty banter posts between Sugah and I? What's that called? Selective hiding? Ayam not understanding Why did you not report those posts in question? Some people reported those posts and i have been hiding them as soon as i got the report. You were also involved in name calling so you should not tell me jack about fairness. |

Prettiepearlz: I know this thread is old but I have got to say this. Justwise, What about a friend who didn't tell me she travelled abroad, but I checked instagram and from the picture she posted her environment already changed because she was on the beach with some Korean babes and I happily liked the photo and commented that she is looking beautiful. The next thing I remembered my friend did was block me off her Instagram and made her page a private page after blocking me (as someone who didn't really know my way much around Instagram, I just noticed I tried searching for her and couldn't find her on my follower list or even in the search list, I then used my sister's instagram account and I searched for her and her details came out. I then realized she had blocked me off her Instagram page because I happily and innocently commented because I was happy to see my friend doing well (I am no advocate for staying in Naija,I also have my plan. Anyone who wants to stay and develop the country can develop it as for me I am tired of rejection and segregation we often experience in our own country) but she humiliated me by blocking me off like I was a nobody. She isn't just a friend, we have been friends since when we were young, and we are also family friends. What she did pained me that for days I cried. I cried not because she didn't tell me she was travelling, at least thats the trend in Africa, you don't tell people you are travelling so that they don't abort your travelling plans (African thinking) but I cried because I felt humiliated and rejected( well it was only for a while), because other people commented and she replied them, I took a quick peak at the profile of those who commented that she replied, I saw that they are also based abroad. Because I never pass border does not mean I won't pass border. And I vowed to stay in my lane at the same time wishing her well. Now if that my friend eventually tries to contact me and I show little or no concern or even try to ignore her, does it mean I am jealous of her? No! I am not because I was taught to always rejoice with those rejoicing, so that I can be blessed. But I doubt if I would ever want that friendship to continue again. I won't be friends with someone who doesn't respects me and thinks so little of me. I know If I post a picture of myself wearing a winter jacket in an environment filled with snow today, she would contact me because that way she feels I am already up to her level and by his grace I will testify soon. At the same time, I am not disregarding the fact that I also have nice friends abroad who treated me like human and tried to keep in touch too. And I understand them even when they don't keep in touch anymore because I know it's a busy world and everyone is trying to find his path to success. But in their silence, they care about me and I care about them. That's the way the term friendship should go. I know stuff like this happens but people should not generalize because many Nigerians abroad still keep in contact with friends back home |
