LasBonBoi:
When I was planning my Canadian Study about 7 years ago, I always wondered if I would ever get enough information to make a decision or to know what to expect from Canada visa requirements. My major unanswered questions were surrounding the part where I would have to deal with the visa processing.
I appreciate Nairaland's "Travelling to Canada" topic for giving me information enough to know what to expect about visa processing delays, people sharing reasons why they were denied, people sharing individual visa case-specific timeline and many more information of value.
Unfortunately this advantage, in my opinion, is seeping away as this very helpful Nairaland topic grows bigger;
1. Visa hopefuls are like a community, they love to hear from each-other and keep updated but searching through posts for update is somewhat tedious
2. Keeping everyone within this community is challenging. To remember the names and follow up with the update posts is not an easy task.
3. Huge bank of visa application outcomes and timelines leading to the outcome is almost impossible to track
4. The "Travelling to Canada" topic is now so big. Getting the right information may not be fast; a question important to you may be quickly buried in the topic pages
5. There is no single point of reference. Questions are answered mostly based out of individual's experience and understanding.

The values listed above are very vital, I hate to see vital values murdered. I have a solution and I honestly hope it would help the people that values it.

I came up with a form for applicants to fill in their application timeline and status updates. Users can update application information anytime. All inputs go in to a spreadsheet available online and accessible to all. Summary of inputs are available to users. Now anyone can keep ahead of what's happening and the history is not lost.

I would appreciate if the moderator of this topic can promote the use of this form.
Sometimes, solutions are just so simple.

Kukuful1014:
Hi everyone I really need ur help, I intend applying for UK visit visa

I intend using my salary account, apart from my salary no money enters that account. My monthly salary after tax which is paid into my account is £600, on the average I withdraw £300 every month for my living cost which means i save the remaining £300.

I intend applying in November therefore I have printed my bank statement from May to October this year and my account balance is £6000, I have been employed for three years now.

I want to know if it ok cos a friend of my was refused because Eco thought his closing balance was more than 4 times monthly salary and I didn't understand coz we only print statement for six months

Also I a first time applicant and I'm attending a seminar which I have invitation letter for that. I have an uncle der who will accommodate me in the UK but I'm sponsoring my trip in terms of plane tickets to and fro and miscellaneous

I intend spending £544 on plane tickets and £200 as miscellaneous since I'm only going for a week

I will submit my leave letter, appointment letter, pay slips and my bank statement

In the finance section of the application form there is a portion that ask how much of ur salary goes to dependent or family, i spend £50 on bus fees for my 15 year old brother every month nd I intend stating that, the only proof I have of the is the receipts I'm given anytime I pay, can that also serve as source of tie? Pls need help I used £ and not N because I'm in Ghana
Why did you not print from April ?

Tax is deducted based on how much you earn not how many hours you worked. This only implies for home students or citizens and not international students. You are giving 20hrs work visa (written bold on your visa) and you think you won't be taxed after 20hrs as an international student? You think they tax you as a citizen? It's another way to monitor international students so as to make sure you are studying and not devoting all your time working. I am speaking from experience. Please understand that he is an international student and not home.
It doesn't matter whether you are a British citizen or international student the tax system work the same as spikesC explained, when I was a student I was taxed the same way they are taxing me now as British citizen though I used tax exemption form then and got refunded many times something I can't do now.

Will they refund him immediately for the current tax year? I highly doubt that as they're even still processing for last year's
They will refund him for last year and current tax year and stop taxing him. It can't be immediately but within 3 weeks

I complained to my employers and they said I should sort the tax refund out with hmrc but that they will not tax me again. How do I get my refund?
You can get your tax back before April next year, firstly ask your employer to give you tax exemption form to complete and secondly contact hmrc they will refund you all the tax you have paid so far. If you don't contact them they will still refund you after April next year.

I blasted the men, the white women and also our Nigerian women I know how these things are all I am saying is some of them can be avoided

You marry a woman here make provisions for her
You marry a white lady divorce her properly before you come home to marry
Don't use women for breeding sake and then abandon them to suffer
Sometimes you go and don't come back for years, sometimes they send nothing back home
See before I started writing I have witnessed first hand something like this and recently witnessed another some days back
So I do have an inkling of what I'm talking/writing about

Obviously you are giving moral answers, very black and white but in reality things doesn't always workout as planned

People don't set out from day one to get themselves in such awkward situation and you can't run into conclusion on one sided story.

There are many genuine reasons why people end up with a wife or gf in Nigeria in such difficult situation.

People leave Nigeria with all good intentions but things turned out badly and they get stranded, can't afford to travel home or even afford the ticket.

Very few people living in Nigeria will understand this and for them he has abandon his responsibilities.

Oh there's nothing clueless about me honey

I am an unquenchable fire

You can't deny there's more than an essence of truth in what I have said

There are some element of truth in what you said but you got no clue as to why some people decided to come home to marry or why marriages breakdown here.

Certian circumstances prevent many Nigerians bringing their wives here...visa restrictions being one of them, you can't just start blasting them when you got no clue what the issues are

Of course it's, I don't have a single friend who has a wife in Nigeria and one here

It's either you didn't read the whole content or didn't watch the video

I have no problem with the genuine ones I don't

I have a problem with the ones who abandon their wives and children here and barely come back home

Then narrow your argument. Yes I watched the video and that lady is far too clueless for 2016

Talk2Bella:
Where you forced to go there? No

My point is if you're gonna come home to Marry please always come back to check on your wives and kids

I understand the hustle really I do but using others to satisfy ourselves isn't that going too far, you have one wife abroad another home some of their kids don't even know what their fathers look like and their wives here have become like single mothers

If you wanna come home to marry please make provisions for the intended wife and children
This is just careless generalisation

No I don't have a problem with that, that's the essence of this post, you lay where you make your he'd

As long as it's outta genuine love go ahead, you don't date a white man and when it's time to marry you remember you have African men back home to settle down with
Great! So how do you know that Nigerian men coming home to marry are not doing it for love? It's good for a Nigerian girl to marry a white man but it's not good for a Nigerian man to come home to marry?

Your previous passport number must surely be written on the new one, and that will make the VO notice your travel history.

How is that possible?

I'm sorry to say this but you shouldn't be asking such question, you or your brother should know that because its available on the school website and we don't even know the school your brother is applying to. He needs to do that research himself to find out about the cost and requirements for admission before thinking about visa.

Hi All, Please i have a question. I intend travelling with my husband and baby to London in Dec. Even though I own a training company that was registered last year, I just began training this month due to childbirth and just started getting income from it. I also used part of my savings to get a car and became an uber partner this month with income going into my business account. I included all these in my appl. However I am putting my husband as the sponsor as I do not curently have much in my account. My questions are:
1) Do i include my business statement of account showing these recent incomes despite not being up to 6months?
2) There is a part where they asked how much the trip will cost, do i put our entire budget and put the same amount in how much my husband will be adding as sponsor, OR do i put 0
3) In a section, it is asked how much we spend monthly. We already put the total amount in my husband's application. Do i put the total in mine too or just how much i spend personally like for hairdo etc
Thanks in anticipation
1. Yes you can

2. Yes there is a space in the form for all that info and many more

3. Can your hubby afford to sponsor the trip without your financial input?
