agalamanyi: oki dookie Thanks for all the help you have rendered on the Uk trend, I hope this email meets you well, I need a little clarification/guidance. I intend to start my msc program in real estate and finance , I have offers from Nottingham trent university and University of Aberdeen, NTU is about 3k pounds cheaper so it's kinda appealing. , what are the prospects of getting a part time job in these towns few months on arrival in other to help with maintenance cost, if you have any Idea, also which is cheaper to live in, with regards to cost of living, I have some family in the Uk so settling down shouldn't be so rough. Thanks Use the the UK university ranking website to see their rankings especially subject ranking that will help you make an informed decision. If you are on budget then £3000 will be attractive and will influence your decision. Job wise..Nobody will given you a heart warming answer because the reality may not be the same.it all boils down to how good you are with job search and how far you are ready to travel to work. Some people restrict their job search within the university city while others are ready to travel outside the city for any job. So go with your maintenance money and start searching for job when you settle and know your way around city. |

Whatamidoinghere: Can it be transfered from a Nigerian account when the person gets there You still need to confirm from your bank if that is possible |

Whatamidoinghere: What about the maintenance fee, how much do you think it's okay for a year?? And what are the things to do in order to go along with the maintenance fee, is it possible changing it to pounds or can it be transfered when that person gets there. Maintenance money stated by UKBA is just enough to survive on but if you spend carefully you will live comfortably with no immediate need to work. I really don't know how one can get hard currency into the UK considering the exchange rate and financial policy by Nigerian government. |

chucksbadt: Thanks for the insight boss.
My main reason for going there is because of the £4000 waiver i was given for tuition, stepping my tuition down from £14,000 to £10,000 for my MSc.
I also heard cost of living there is quite affordable
Hope it's a good choice tho I don't blame you for choosing the school given the waiver, that is very generous. Yes cost of living there is very very affordable. |

chucksbadt: Cc justwise Please how is life in Huddersfield? I applied for MSc Advanced Computer Science in University of Huddersfield, September batch.
Are there part time jobs there? Huddersfield is not much of a big city so job wise you may not have a lot to choose from, i used to live in that area and been to Huddersfield a lot of times. The university area and the town centre are the lively areas in Huddersfield. Leeds and Manchester are two big cities closer to Huddersfield. You may have to make do with university job board and agencies to see what you can get hold of. |

want to apply for a uk visiting visa soon and i have everything intact just that i want to know if i really need to include my bank statement or that of my sponsor here in Nigeria when i know that there isn't really much funds in it as at now. Should i just leave out the bank statement on my part and include only that of the person inviting me. moreover what is needed again from my part as I just finished my university degree and only wants to visit uk for about 3weeks or there about truthfully You need to include your bank statement and proof your tie to Nigeria, your sponsor's account alone will not work though important but you still need to proof your tie to your home country. |

I will heed to your advice and never applied again...Boss..
I hope in my future application(maybe going to UK as a visitor during DECEMBER) you would be glad to help me
GOD BLESS YOU REALLY MUCH That is not a problem. Since your uncle's name is in the system as your legal guardian you may have to get that legalised and get the paper for future use. |

Does anyone know anything about Birmingham city University (BCU). The percentage of getting a part-time job over, also is the area okay. And is it easy getting a part-time job in Birmingham.
Thanks and God bless as you reply. Birmingham is the second biggest city in the UK so getting a part time job will not be a problem and there are two universities in that city. I don't know anybody there though. |

You mean MY UNCLE should put that into another writing separate from the Letter of Support written by my uncle for ME (his nephew) ,or in the same letter of support? The bank statement shows that the monies was coming from different individuals church members(not the church that employed him), of which no evidence like payslip showing that. I pray the ECO would believe Please clearly define how I can prove his origin of fund or the format i can put my uncle can put it into writing ? Dont forget his employer has already stated what is monthly stipend is but its just low. Thanks in millions He can put it in one document or separate it doesn't really matter. In terms of bank statement and money that comes into it...he can only explain that in writing and present his account as it is... Personally I think you need take a break from this for now...he is not earning that much to spend on your 'not-so-important-trip'. GRATEFULI: Thanks for your reply.
Marriage certificate is not issued twice although i have a photocopy with me which has been certified as true copy by the court but they clearly state that we should present original copies of supporting documents. how do i respond to that for my next application?
I have sent them several mail about the missing document but their response has been the same- that it's being escalated to the appropriate department but nothing more than that. Although some of of the document required were not submitted but that was not referred to in the refusal letter eg. the sponsor letter, the tuberculosis test result.
I was refused because i chose visit valid up to 10 years and as i was told initial visit is supposed to be for 6 months. can i ask also if my husband could file for me from the UK since he is a citizen and works with the UK government too Not really..he can submit both your documents from the UK(You need to send him your own documents to submit together with his) but the actual application has to be made in Nigeria and submitted in Nigeria. This is the thread you need for spouse visa application https://www.nairaland.com/823869/uk-spouse-visa-appeal-process-part2/100You will read alot of materials from other successful applicants and most importantly list of documents they submitted. Since they have your original marriage certificate there is nothing you can do, make a note of it in the form and remind them that they have your original and that you can't get that reissued. |

Only an Ipobite is capable of doing that. You need to be a criminal, an illustrate or both to fall victim of lottery scam. How will you win a lottery you did not play? powermike9999: God bless u all for sharing very useful info in dis chat room.
Have a US visa for self, wife &2 kids. Got d visa for a holiday/part business in d US which we planned to sincerely go for.
We were supposed to visit france and d US within 1 month but midway into our holiday in france before we could leave for d US, something very urgent came up at my business &i had to rush back wt my family after just a week.
Have gone to d US alone since then for business briefly &i'm back.
Wifey is pregnant now & I want d baby delivered in d US. I intend to write d embassy abt d change of purpose but i have read on a few pages back whr some people re advising against it. I would have wished she goes for a 2 weeks vac before going for d delivery but cos of d exchange rate i cant afford it & all i'm gathering is d money for delivery.
My Question is dat is it advisable dat i write d embassy or not. Should she just go when she is ready &face d CBP in d US without writing d embassy. Do they cancel visas nowadays when u change d purpose. I have read virtually all d pages on d part 1-4 of dis thread but i need answers based on people's recent experiences.
Thank you. Was she pregnant when you applied and attend interview for that visa? |

will it help that our families are involved in the marriage process? so his mum and my sister will be witnesses at the court wedding... and i have pics from the introduction (though oyibo no know wetin introduction be)
also: can my masters certificate be used as my proof of English Knowing him for that long will help but that also means that you need to submit a lot of evidence of communication...chats/email/calls history..etc...when you read this thread you will see more on what other successful applicants submitted. Yes your families getting involved will definitely help and yes masters degree is more than enough for proof of English language. Oyibo know what introduction is. |

Skiiiwalker: they don't have any business if another country refused you or not, their immigration laws are different from the US. so will never in any way affect your application,. rejection is no barrier for anything actually, people just get scared once they stamp rejection to them.. its nothing, i hv got q Germany visa with a rejection stamped passport. so chill it wont affect. Do they have a business with your previous refusals because it's part of your immigration history and the reason or reasons of refusal matters a lot. Yes you can still get a visa even with refusal but you need to disclose it when asked. Denying a refusal when asked in a form is misrepresentation which could lead to refusal. When you start lying about something or holding back info then you have something to hide. |

No biometrics and fingerprints taken for the canada application. Don't know whether they will still get to know of the USA refusal.
I'm a bit disturbed and do not know how this is going to affect my application. Kindly share your views if anyone have such a story of the expected outcome. Did that question ask if you have been refused a visa to any other country before or just Canada alone? |

gingeruno: ok thanks... i have seen some with requirements.
in my case i applied for a visiting visa in April, and was denied for not including my own financial statements. My fiance was my sponsor but i listed him as a good friend as he had not proposed to me then. Do you think it will affect my application if in June I apply for a spouse visa with him again.
Also: i just want to confirm that all financial records required are of that of my sponsor alone... do i need to include mine? (this was what caused me being refused last time.)
thank you Probably yes. Listing him as a good friend is a serious mistake that will cast doubt in your spouse application. If that was last April then no problem but this is just within 3months a good friend is now a husband? How long have you known each other? Primarily the financial requirement is on your hubby, if he is earning enough to meet the financial requirement then good, nothing to worry about, this is different from visiting visa |
