Aibisoye0: Dear justwise,
I recently renewed my visa 2yrs around Oct . When filling the forms I stated I'll be travelling in Feb 2016 for 2 weeks. Now plans have changed. Lost my dad and his burial is Feb. I now intend going March to spend Easter with my family brothers and sisters based in the UK. And I intend to spend 3 weeks. I hope it's safe to do so or I just stick to my 2weeks? You can do that and explain the situation to immigration officer at POE if asked, if you can stick to 2weeks you stated in your form. |

EggPlant: Thanks, I have read on uk.gov that if a person's standard visitors visa is stamped MULT, means multiple entry and 1 mean single entry and for both regardless of the period of stay stated on the application, one is only considered to have overstayed if he doesn't exit the U.K within 28 days after the stated date of expiration of the visa on one's passport (i.e there is even 28 days grace after the expiration of the 6 months visa before one is considered to have overstayed).
One is only obliged to notify the UKBA if the condition for which the visa was granted changes within this period e.g if one needs to change from a visitors/tourist visa to a spousal, students or work visa.
Guess this means that even if one stated that he'll be staying for 2 weeks, it doesnt matter if he stays for the entire 6 months as long as he exits before the grace period elapses. And such a person has not broken any rules and hence no penalties for this. That is not true, visiting visa can not be changed to any other type of visa within the UK. If you stayed longer than you stated in your application you will find it difficult to extend that visa without a very strong reason. If you doubt anything I said above then try and overstay the stated time in your application and see what happens next time you visit or try to renew that visa. Staying 2-4 days more is not the issue here but weeks or months will get you into trouble even when you haven't overstayed the 6 months given. |

So we can refer these frequent questions to page1 of the thread and stop all these recurrent arguments. If the person now refuses to read page 1, we can just ignore him/her. #justmysuggestion Done. |

kkbabygirl:
I entered the US legally to deliver my baby. The baby was born in Dec 15.
Regrettably the baby was born with a congenital heart disease called trunsuc artheriosis. She has had two heart surgeries and is currently in the hospital. She has lived all her life in the cardiovascular intensive care unit.
At the moment, the doctors are uncertain of her discharge date. Additionally the baby is billed for more hospital visits and surgeries in the future.
Unfortunately, the health care delivery in Nigeria cannot guarantee my baby a better care. I have confirmed that our hospitals are ill equipped and have poor manpower and skill to manage the baby health. The baby's condition is such that she will require a periodic hospital visit and future replacement of some valve in the heart.
I am skeptical of taking my baby back home. While I am praying for her complete recovery, it is my desire to remain in the US and watch my baby have the best health care in the world.
Please I need advise on how to achieve this.
Thank you. I really pray that your little baby get well soon even before your 6months visa duration expires. I don't think taking the baby back to Nigeria will be a good idea, give it your all for your baby because her life is more important than the consequences of over staying the visa or the financial implications. |

alabikunlekam: @ justwise ..... Good evening, Please I just apply for a visitor visa to jamaica but my question is that,am I going to apply for UK visa OR USA before I can leave nigeria or is there any mean I can go through nigeria to jamaica? Try to book your ticket with KLM or air France if the stopover at Paris or Amsterdam is less than 24hrs then you don't need a transit visa. Check carefully because there are some flight time that requires less stopover time. |

But is it mere coincidence that Africa's failure of leadership is reflected in the current US leadership? chupcake: And they say it had to be either of my folks or is there a way around it where I can use someone else account. Even if I have to make them my legal guardian which brings me to the next question, If that works, how will I do it? That will not work, you don't just pick somebody as your legal guardian as an adult. You did not plan this well early enough to give yourself room for plan B. It's too late now to try any short cut. |

Portsmouth86: Hi all
those who have had visas granted, do you mind listing your timelines.
The group I follow on FB called i love my foreign spouse there are a lot of visas granted and who have applied after I have also without priority.
Its just so frustrating that other applications have decision made after ours, and we have had no calls either, we are only on working day 38.
Some of those who have been denied got the IHS refund before they received the decision email or passport back, what a horrible way to find out its a NO
https://www./139807999382936/ link to I love my foreign spouse No need to worry it takes average of 3 months and no two timelines are the same. The same issue with naturalisation application |

abnot: @justwise they actually do. Looked up my bank statement from august till date . The monies were paid monthly in my account via bank transfer except in november and december when a cash deposit was made by my parents. I've been to the UK 11 times in the last 5 years and also been to the schengen zone 4 times in the last one year . In addition I studied in the UK on two different tier 4 visas the last of which expired in january 2015. The challenge am having now is that my parents sponsored all these trips as I submitted their bank statements and all. However am going to have to sponsor myself this time around using my bank statement that's why am making as much enquiries as possible to avoid wasting the visa application fee. Many thanks justwise Then you don't have much to worry about, organize your application carefully. |

abnot: @justwise ok. But in my own case I receive a fixed amount monthly as allowance from my parents in addition to my takehome salary of 104k monthly. What evidence can I show to back the monthly deposit of 100k from my dad and 200-300k from my mum? Unfortunately if that money is not through bank transfer then its impossible to provide any evidence to back that up and the embassy will have some reservations about your claim that your mum and daddy giving you 300-400K monthly as an allowance even as you work. |

realonetommy: Sorry for the late response bro, am just trying to get it from a reliable source...my bad though for the wrong info, but it's this january and that's just the talk of town here...they've started the celebration here though, every ministry has the EU flags on and all but check http://eeas.europa.eu/delegations/georgia/press_corner/all_news/news/2015/20151218_1_en.htm and http://agenda.ge/news/12573/eng In the first link there was no place it mentioned that Georgia has joined the EU. This quote is exactly from the second link: Travelling to European Union member countries could be possible for Georgian citizens from 2016 , Georgian authorities have announced.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Maia Panjikidze said she believed short-term visas would allow the holder to a total stay of up to 90 to 180 day period for tourist and business purposes respectively.
"With an ordinary Georgian passport, citizens will have the opportunity to enjoy visa-free travel to Schengen countries but for studying and working purposes citizens have to obtain the visa,” Panjikidze said.
This is contrarily to what you said: realonetommy: Yeah, there are no jobs here in Georgia but there are lots of opportunities, for example, you can import a car here from Japan online (which are always cheaper like $300-$800) and give it to some natives here to use as taxi, you get 600 Gel monthly, which is almost 60k in Nigerian currency, the native drives and pay you for 18months before the vehicle becomes his, so do the maths, Secondly, Georgia just joined the EU so you can use your resident card to travel to any European Country either to work or for leisure, so they're really cool now... And about deporting Students, they turned most students back due to lack of some original documents, some agents in Nigeria do forged some stuffs and that's where the problem lies, Students get here without the appropriate documents, so they're being deported... they're lots and lots of Nigerians studying and doing various businesses, this place is really cool if you wanna invest and study, you just sit back and watch your money roll in Please lets avoid giving people misleading info here. |

Benjamite01: House please I need your advice, I was at collection center to get my application. I was surprised for the refusal to visit the UK. Please find the refusal letter in the attachment and what is your advise. Thanks You were refused a visa because you were unable to account for that additional money in your account. Yes you stated that the money came from rent by tenants and agents but you did not back that up with any paper evidence. |
