@Justwise....How Una dey for here?
So today I went for my appointment at Teleperformance in Abuja to submit my application, and after submitting my docs, I was told I should wait for interview. Lol and behold, they ushered me into a small room with a system and the visa officer from UK was on skype ready to interview me. The conversation was like this:

VO: How are you today?
Me: Im perfectly fine
VO: Are you well enough for this interview?
Me: Im okay
VO: Tell me your name and date of birth
Me: I said it all
VO: Why are you go to UK?
Me: bla bla bla
VO: Where do you work?
Me: Blal bla
VO: What does your company do?
me: bla bla bla
VO: Why are you visiting UK at this time?
Me: To inspect machinery for the company
VO: When did you join this company?
Me: 2011 as P.A, but was promoted to so so and so in 2014
VO: What is the name of the owner of the company?
Me: I mentioned it
VO: Spell it for me
Me: I spelt the names
VO: How many people are in the employment of the company?
Me: I dont have exact figure, cos im not in HR, but I think btw 100 and 120
VO: ok, is the company in UK aware of your coming?
Me: yes, I have submmited the IV and hotel reservation made by the UK company
VO: how long have u bn dealing with the UK company?
Me: Do you mean how long we have bn transacting business or communicating with them?
VO: Transacting
Me: This is our first time of dealing with them
VO: why this company?
Me: One of the best in the world in this area of business
VO: Who is paying for this trip?
Me: My employer
VO: Why are they paying?
Me: The company has procured a machine with the Uk company and it is their sole responsibility to fund this trip
VO: Have you traveled before?
Me: yes, so country, so country and so country
VO: is that all?
Me: Yes
VO: why did you go to all these countries, and when?
Me: for this and this, and it was in march
VO: What is your monthly income?
Me: After tax or before tax?
VO: after tax
Me: I mentioned it
VO: Ok.
VO: why visiting Uk at this time?
I don tire already, why is he repeating question, anyway, I answered him again
VO: Ok. Thanks very much, that is the end of this interview
me: Thanks
VO: have a great day, and I wish you goodluck
Me. I have a great day too.

All in all, I spent close to 30mins skyping with the guy, and when I came out, people were like, bros, you no want comot again.

I think it is better to conduct this skype interview, it gives serious and genuine people to be able to explain in details why they are traveling.

You guys should all pray for me o.

Peace out
That is a lengthy one but not bad, they want to be fair in their decisions

and i was surprised when i saw the mail coz i know you dont paste ur email addy here. i tot that was a slip from you embarassed Now i know better
I dropped my email address here years ago and that email is purely for nairaland and I don't use it anywhere else.

I still receive email sent through that email address but my point is I will never contact anybody here asking for payment or favour in exchange for any advice given here or off nairaland.

I will never contact anybody through that email address to sale or to market any deal.

I forgot to mention this here for years now...my email address was cloned by certain individuals here though I'm not bothered about that but people should not respond to any email supposedly from me asking for money or any favour in return for any advice.

Use the pm.

This is one thing pple should understand.
I believe all the people encouraging pple to go to canada without tuition are still in Nigeria and that's why they don't get that its not easy.
Pple will now enter after heeding to such advice and end up doing illegal stuff to meet up.
It is well sha.
Yes and we have some of them here in nairaland, they become immigration lawyers and employment agencies preying on prospective students.

You're correct. This silver spoon born people discouraging others because they are made.yes,we know it's not going to be easy but that doesn't mean that those that went on a low scale won't still make it.Majority of those that make it there are still the hoipoilloi's why the so called already will be there, being too lazy to work.
You completely missed the point! Don't go to Canada if you can't afford the fees and maintenance money to start with.

People are saying this in good faith and so that you don't make the same mistake others made and get stucked. Go home you can't because you can't afford the ticket or face the shame and stigma.

If you can afford to pay your fees and maintenance money at leas for a year then give it a go but leaving Nigeria with almost nothing and hoping to work and study to pay fees and bills is beyond madness.

Please i appeal to you to kindly state when you are returning to Nigeria since Canada is so tough. Thank you
Funny question, simple answer...not easy to come back empty handed.

its madness for anybody to leave Nigeria to Canada or any country in that matter without school fees or maintenance money. Pure madness.

Forgot about whatever you read here, don't do it if you want to remain sane.

I understand exactly what you are saying as I have witnessed a few of this scenario. It's always shameful.

This behaviour is also very common in Nigeria (maybe even more common there) so I do not think it has anything to do with rights and freedom . This is just a case of few people carrying their behaviour from Nigeria to whatever country they live in abroad. The Indians and Chinese are generally not like that in their country too so it is only expected that they will not exhibit such behaviour abroad.
That is true, the aggressive nature and the name calling is a turn off

My salary range is 190 to 200, the budget was 3300 as I would b travelling with my kids. I actually attached my Hubby's bank statement but they didn't make reference to it. Can I get my dad to b the sponsorer and reapply with my daughter attaching only his bank statement cos the grad is close.
Considering the amount involved here I'm not sure using your daddy as your sponsor will work. I guess traveling with your kids to spend that much within short period is the issue here.

To make things easier for yourself use oanda website to convert all the money you have for the trip and answer all money related questions in £.

1. Make a budget of the trip(you need to outline it in the form or use extra paper) flight, accommodation, feeding, traveling within the UK etc...the total cost is the answer to that question in £s.

2. If you have £2000 in your bank account and the trip will cost you £1000 then the answer to this question is £2000, if you don't make a budget and state it in the form the ECO will assumed that you will be spending the whole £2000 for the trip.

3. You answered that already.

4. You answered that as well.

5. Because he is your hubby.

6. Answered that already.

Yes write the amount in the form don't slipt it.

Yes you need to put your daughter's name because the cost of the trip will include her.

If you haven't deported from any country the select no or N/A

I would like to reapply as I want to attend my brother's graduation on the 20th of this month.
