@Justwise

Hi how are you this morning, I want some advice please.

My coworker recently informed me that the financial minimum requirements for the UK spouse visa is about to increase to over £20k pa...I cannot find any info on this and believe she is full of s**t tongue

Could you please ease my worries, as this will no doubt complicate matters for my husbands visa application.

Cheers
Hi Portsmouth86,

You ok?

I seriously doubt that, there is an appeal waiting for a date for the current £18600, the first appeal failed and another one is pending, so i don't see Home Office increasing the financial requirement again. If that happens then people will use the loophole to get their partners into the UK.

I have searched online and did not see any news or consultation about it.

Well her pension hasn't been paid in almost 6 months now.
The state government is still owning her/them.
Ok, as long as you can afford to have her around then no problem.....you need to show that you have adequate accommodation for her, the unborn baby and the rest of family. At least two bedroom flat.

Enough in your bank account to proof that you can take care of things.

All she need to show is her pension book, retirement letter and her passport. Somebody has to help her complete the form online, upload supporting documents and make payment online as well then get a date for physical submission. The same set of documents submitted online and the application form will be submitted at the visa centre and get biometric done the same day.

Goodday house, I must say welldone to everyone who has been of help to others on the forum.

I need some proper guidance .

I am a pregnant PhD student in UK in my third year already.
My husband is here with me with our 3 year old son.
We intend to invite my mum-in-law on arrival on the baby to ease things.
The baby is due towards the end of the year.
My mum-in-law doesn't have a travel history and she is a retired civil servant.
Please what are the documents or things we need to put in place for her application?
Please I will appreciate detailed information as we are clueless about this.
Is your mum receiving pension?

Are you sure you read that refusal letter probably?

1.What document did you submit that lack authenticity?

2. Which request for information did they make that you did not compiled with?

Hi Justwise,

Greetings and many thanks for your contributions. I also submitted at Teleperformance in Abuja on Monday and got a mail as @cliffogan1.

I am a bit anxious knowing the outcome of the decision. It was truly made fast and it got me thinking:

1. if granted would it not take a while to print the visa?

2. why do they say 'the decision' and 'my documents'?

I applied for General Visitor Visa to attend my friend's graduation at UCL. All necessary documents have been submitted although I could only submit a scanned copy of the invitation letter from the school instead of the original. However I submitted every other document as stated in the UK supporting document checklist. I have a valid US visa currently on the passport and three other expired ones.

I am still anxious, please what do you think? honestly.

THank you
1. I know people who got their visas that quick in the past, yes they can be pretty quick sometimes.

2. Decision means that they have processed your application and visa issued or denied, they don't make it obvious anymore. Documents they are referring to is those that need to be returned to you... e.g employment letter, marriage certificate, passport etc

Dear Bosses on here, I am really happy to be a member of this forum, it has really helped me, my family and friends so much..... However, My Siser wants to travel to the UK during Sales period to buy clothing and she wanted to apply next month, I asked her to send me her documents and bank statement so as to check if she has any chances of getting the visa through the knowledge gathered from here. Upon receipt of the documents I realized that she doesn't have a tax clearance and but her account is running so perfectly well.... I gave the statement of account to a friend of mine who works at the firs office to evaluate her monthly income and My friend said from the statement of account, her monthly income is between 70-80k and she has to pay about 40k+ for the personal income tax clearance certificate.... I called her to explain to her to keep running her account for the next 3months so as to help increase her monthly income to like 100k+ but she doesnt want to miss the Sales period so as to get cheaper things. My questions are -

1. Can her hubby's friend Sponsor her for the trip? He sponsored her to Dubai twice.

2. Can she get the Uk Visa with 80k monthly income without Sponsor

3.If YES to 1, Will she be needing a tax certificate to support the application even if someone is sponsoring her.

salute to my bosses in advance for your contributions. thanks
1. That will not look good on her application, why would her husband's friend sponsor her? That is the first question.

2. That amount is too little because flight ticket alone will take 3 x that amount.

3. If she is running a registered business then yes she will need one.

Hello House, my friend's visa was denied yesterday (we are supposed to travel together thus my concern). Their reason was that she has 5 dependents hence, she cannot afford the trip/vacation on her salary. They also stated that she is not entitled to AR or appeal.

The problem is that she is single without any kids and she did not state in her application that she has any dependents. I suspect that the VO used someone's information for her, as i really can not phantom how they arrived at this conclusion that she has 5 dependents shocked.

She is about to talk to an immigration lawyer who she says can help (i'm pessimistic) . But, can anything really be done? I mean they stated that she is not entitled to AR or appeal. Can she make a case based on the fact that the information attributed to her/rationale for the denial is false/flawedhuh.

Uncle Justwise, Oga Ralph, Prof.Worry and our able contributors......your thoughts will be highly appreciated. Thank you.
In that case all she need to do is to reapply and point out their mistake in a letter. Using a lawyer is just waste of money in my opinion though.

Hello house,

Thanks for all the very useful comments and advice. I have been a silent follower and I want to say well done to all those who have been contributing.
I made my UK visa application on Monday 15 June 2015 at Abuja and I got this email this morning just a day after I received a mail from UKVI saying they had received and are processing my visa application.

Dear XX XXXXXX,

UK Visas & Immigration has now assessed your UK visa application and made a decision. Your documents and
the decision will be sent back to the either the UK Visa Application Centre where you applied, where we will
contact you by email over the next few days to collect them, or if you are using the courier return service, will
be sent directly back to the address you provided.
Please note that Teleperformance does not know the outcome of the assessment and has played no role in the
decision-making process.

Kind regards,

Teleperformance
UK Visas & Immigration

My question is this:
Has any one had their visa processed so fast? If yes, what should I expect.

They can be quick sometimes...so its nothing out of ordinary

What about from 2006 when I first entered on a diplomatic visa? Thanks.
Diplomatic visa has restrictions which includes applying for British residency. Do a search on that for more info.

Hello house I am new here.
I would kindly like your opinion and advice with regards to ILR settlement in the UK.
I first arrived the UK in 2006 on a diplomatic dependent visa which expired in early 2012. I then had to go back home and apply for a tier 4 student visa in order to finish my undergraduate degree which was almost done (but my diplomatic visa expired before then). The tier 4 visa expired in August 2012 so I returned back home. I came back to UK on a visit visa towards the end of October to celebrate my graduation. I then returned back home Dec 2012 and applied for my masters and came back to the UK Feb 2013. The masters expired at the end of October 2014. I went back home and returned to UK near the end of November 2014 for my masters graduation. I have since returned back home end of April 2015.

I am aiming to apply for a PhD to commence sept 2015. My question is will I be liable for an ILR come 2016 given these dates? Thanks in advance and sorry for this long essay.

As far as I know, I haven't spent 6 months on a single trip out of the UK.
Technically your count towards ILR started in 2012 when you got tier 4 student visa and from 2012 to 2016 is not 10 yrs, so basically you haven't met the requirement yet.

Good day people. Can someone please clarify what the below statement means?! Thanks in advance.

During the qualifying period you should generally aim to not be outside the UK for more than 90 days during the final 12-month period and no more than 180 days in any consecutive 12-month period prior to application.
Don't stay outside the UK for more than 90days during the last year before your residency application....if you are applying for ILR it means the 10th years (if you are using student route) you should not travel out of the UK and stay more than 3 months

I think a student visa should be a tie now, because for example a student from Nigeria who studies in the Uk and wants to visit the us isn't such a bad idea, why does that student have to come all the way from the uk to Naija to apply is what I don't get, I know of some people that it has worked for and they got visa while studying and I know of some that it hasn't worked for, why is it so dicey?
Not everyone holding student visa is a genuine student. If you are a student surviving on maintenance money do you think that it makes any sense to issue a visa to visit US? Student visa is not a tie to that country because it carries expiring date. And in the case of deportation you will not be deported to the UK but to Nigeria.

one confusing thing I have been trying to understand is that why does the US embassy refuse some students visa from where they are studying? I really don't get, while other embassies grant visas to students who are studying abroad because they see their studentship as a strong enough tie for them to return back, I totally believe that as a student in any country you are studying you ought to be granted a visa because you will not want to abandon thousands of pounds or dollars already paid to go and be a scavenger in another man's country, please I will love for everyone to contribute to this matter because it is rather annoying undecided shocked
Do you think that every student studying abroad can afford to travel? Student visa does not really give you a tie to that country especially when you are studying in Europe or Asia and want to visit US.

Don't even think I get mine free. I pay for them.
Invitation letter is not for sell, no legitimate company sales IV. Only crooks does that and that is one of the reasons why embassies refuse people visa.
