Hello. On my application on DS-160 for Tourist visa, I stated 200k as my monthly salary, instead of 103K I receive per month. I want to use my salary account bank statement at the embassy because I have done transactions of about 50 million naira with it within the last 5 months and it's current account. My dilemma is that even though the HR helps to alter my payslip to reflect 200k on it. What of the salary amount relecting on the account as 103k every month, can't that jeopardise my chance? Also won't the VO question that volume of money that flows through my account? Though I have the invitation letter from my uncle, letters also from my place work as a staff for 6 years, letters from my company cooperative society as a member stating the amount I have and the percentage am entitled to access, letter identifying me as a Postgraduate student of Univerty of Ibadan to the embassy and also documents as proof to properties inherited by me and also am single. How high is my chance?
American embassy don't care about those list of documents, they are just self inducement which adds very little to your application.

Bank statement and IV from your uncle 'might' be given a look.

Altering your payslip by your HR is one of the reasons why some embassies don't trust documents presented by Nigerians because we can even forge human being.

Hello House,

I went to pick up my visa n my baby's today and guess what? We were granted visa! Thanks to evry1 that dropped comments on this thread. They were all helpful, God bless you all!

what I (believe) did to have a successful application?

I read through all the posts on this thread*- from 2011-till date; highlighted why some visas were granted and why some were not. Then I noted comments from all the Nairalanders esp. Justwise, Omo tier 1, Vicjustice etc. Then, I applied, even though I still made some mistakes but I guess they were overlooked by ECO( I learnt that word frm this forum , I still dont know the full meaning but I know it is synonymous to "Grant or refuse that Visa"wink.

My advise to guys that are about to ask questions on UK visa applications esp. visit visa; Pls read through the previous comments on this thread, most (if not all) of the questions have been answered IN DETAILS.

I hope this makes sense to the house. Goodluck to those that are about to submit applications and those awaiting response!
Congratulations! Glad it worked out for you.

I believe dat God can use a prophet to locate her brother because am a living testimony to dat my brother was missing for 8 years and God u a man of God and now my brother is back. I know dat there are a lot of fake prophets around now but dat doesn't mean dat there are no REAL ones. See if it doesn't happen to u I understand dat it will be difficult for u to believe it.
Then ask the prophet to locate her brother and get paid AFTER the brother is located. How about that?

My brother steven ifeanyichukwu Ugeh is also missing. He was taken @ gunpoint on the 27th of February 2015 @ okpanam Asaba delta state while supervising my building project.

First we taught it's just kidnapping and maybe it's money they want. But this appears to be wrong. It's 5months now. Yet to word no txt no phone call no email from the people that took him.

Ifeanyi is a grown man. His 30yrs old his single and not financially buoyant. His still struggling and hustling like everyone else.

Family have gone places in search of him.
Spiritual and otherwise. all we hear is that his alive but not well. His in pains.

My sister put up missing person advert on news papers. And a man called claiming he saw ifeanyi somewhere at ore ondo state and that he has lost his mind.

After series of conversation with the man, he demanded for 100,000 before he will tell us where ifeanyi is.

We agreed to pay him but requested for an account number. Or a meeting place. D man suspected we would arrest him and switched off. He blanked out all communication with us. Now we r completely in the dark.

We need help. We want ifeanyi back.
I read plenty of missing person story these days online. I read of kidnapping for ransome and ritual killings and I get scared not knowing what fate has befallen my brother.

What a wicked world we live in.
May God help us all.

You still don't get it, and I cant help you any further. You've NO idea what you're talking about, and you seem to lack the capacity to comprehend it. Your sole aim here is not to comprehend facts, but to prove that you're right and I'm wrong, you CANNOT achieve that because you don't have the facts. Remain blessed.

Again, you fail to understand what you read and pasted. Children born to diplomats are treated differently because of their parents being a 'Diplomat' and having 'Diplomatic Immunity'. A diplomat can commit a crime in a host country and not be prosecuted, wherever 'Diplomats' are (their cars, house etc.) are considered an extension of their home country. For this reason, their children born in a host country; Canada, USA, UK etc., are treated as if they were born in the 'Diplomat's (their parent'S) home country, and as such are not automatic citizens of their host country - Canada, USA, UK etc.

I understand you quite well, but there would always be collateral damage. We need a relatively young and dynamic labour force in the government ministries. It's easier for a 45 to 50 year Old person to champion change than a 60 year old. Take a look at this scenario compare GTBank to a Union Bank or First Bank. The former is young and dynamic and championing change in the Banking Sector in Nigeria and Africa while the later is just living on old glory and growing at a slow rate.

There would always be collateral damage in any decision the government takes, but let's try to look at the long term benefits which would be - more young folks in government in future. It's because the youths and middle age folks are not given opportunities and our society has entrenched so much value to old age that we even have a 72yr old President. So let the change begin
If 60 years old are incapable of championing a change then Buhari is the wrong candidate.

Both young and old can work together to bring change as long as they are effective.

Corruption within civil servant is not problem and the solution is not sacking people who have worked for 30 years.

I wish to visit the UK with my wife and 2 little kids just for tourism purpose with my wife and kids
I am a medical doctor, earn average of 575k monthly. I and my wife has a running US visiting visa , both of us visited the US just once each.
But I use most of my salary money to do projects , building my hospital majorly, so I have just about 1m in my account now but my statement of account shows average of 575k entering every month
Do we stand any chance of getting the UK visit visa ?

You do, your salary is good

From the headline if it is true, it's only those that are 30 yrs and above that are going to be affected, not those who have spent less. So are you saying those that have worked for 10, 15, 20 and 25 years are not competent enough to man the affairs of the ministry? Certainly some good hands would be affected, but truth is most of these old guys are not inclined to new technology, they keep claiming things should be done the way things have always been done. We need change. Civil servants can't be compared with political officers.
You can't be sure of that, a family friend who works at ministry of education started using computer in 1997, she was aged 43-45 at that time, not all old guy/woman are struggling with technology.

If Buhari wants to overhaul the system then those above the age of 65 should be made redundant and not those who have worked for 30yrs but within the working age.

Teaching an old dog new tricks. Waste of resources. Training people that are willing to leave the service.

Hang around senior civil servant and hear their tales about service life after a lengthy period.

Take a walk to Federal Secretariat in places like Gombe, Etiki, Ebonyi, Kwara, Ondo, Jigawa, Taraba.

I rest my case.
Lets start from Buhari, he is far over his retirement age with more than 30yrs experience.

The point is, they will be compensated. Buhari is not the first President doing this. Something similar has occurred in Nigerian Port Authority (NPA) during OBJ period. Competency is what that matters most to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

You can't improve efficiency by getting rid of experienced workers, you do that by training workers, motivate them and get rid of red tapes in the system.

For the fact that somebody has worked for 30yrs does not mean that the individual has reached the age of retirement.

It is even more ridiculous to think that the person suggesting this is above 70years of age and have ruled the country before.

Double standard?

The human nature in me will always spring out; I have worked all my life in that area, hung around people, my authorities has always being followed( If I were to be in Senior position), I have lobbied/struggle to attained that position, now it's all gone - the change of daily routine. So, I won't be HAPPY. Just a simple human feeling you will get over it with otherlife activities.
My point is that people should be retired because they have reached the age of retirement and not because they have worked for 30yrs.

You are seeing it from one angle. Nigerian Civil service is has corrupt as hell. Especially at that age of service, no zeal to work, keeping up to current global trend in ICT.

Why should a Parent be working over 30 years in a place, while the children that graduate years ago, with the physical strenght and creativity mind to show is potential are unemployed or underemployed.
One question to you: will you be happy to be made redundant simply because you have worked for 30yrs?
Politics › Re: Presidency Orders Sack Of Civil Servants With 30 Years In Service And Above by justwise(m): 3:40pm On Jun 21, 2015
This is funny, Buhari is 72 and he wants to sack people who have worked for 30yrs? Can somebody ask him how long he has been in politics?

So it's all good for him to remain in politics passed his retirement age but not good for others with just 30 years under their belts?
