But Nigerians don't need a visa to get into Ghana, but Mexico needs to get into the US, even brazil, and most south american countries all need visa to go to US and thats even with the very strict visa requirements yet there are still more Mexicans. How do you explain that?
Yes they need a visa but majority of Mexicans in US got smuggled in easily because of the proximity, some use illegal crossings and it cost them very little, while a Nigerian need to buy flight ticket and fly thousands miles to US.

I went through the cited report and it didn't contain the break down of what type of visas. My guess is the tourist/Visit category far outnumbers the others. There are more Mexicans that apply to the U.S than there could ever be Nigerians. And more Europeans go for vacation there more than Nigerians even with the visa waiver, they still need the ESTA/ETA. In any given year these groups both outnumber Nigerians. Look at the UK for example, the EU citizens move there more than any other outside groups(esp Africans), after discovering there so called clamp down on immigration didn't work they are now considering excluding Europe.
The bottom line is people are moving everywhere. The world is becoming more global and interconnected. There are more polish immigrants in the UK than there could ever be Nigerians.
You are comparing two different set of immigrants that are not related at all. Many EU citizens don't need a visa to visit US hence there is no need of counting number of visa applications. Mexico share border with US so they are likely to have a higher number of Mexicans in US just as we have higher number of Nigerians in Ghana compare to other EU countries.

Even with visa conditions the number of visa applications from Nigerians are still high.

But 220k is very small compared to the supposed 40m adult population in the country out of an estimated 120m population
22k is a lot considering the fact the Nigeria is not eligible for dv visa lottery again. And the 22k is just for US alone not considering the UK, Canada and other European countries.

Thanks for this

That is why I advised the person seeks legal help
If it covers kids going now then the rest of the world will turn US to nursery school.

America usually will not prevent any child under 18,legal or illegal from going to school up to high school level but after 18 it gets rough without papers.most school grants or scholarships require a legal status and most private lenders ( banks ,financial institutions) will not give school loans to someone without an immigrant visa status unless someone else co signs for the loans on their behalf.
Obama has now granted a pathway for these kids to get a legal stay if they came as children and schooled here with college degrees
I believe a lawyer in the USA can explain this better.

I know the place is a little sympathetic to people who came here as children
A good lawyer can argue their case, the children are innocent, their parents are the law breakers
That does not cover kids who are going now, only for those who went to US 5 yrs ago as kids.

First go to Union metro exit 2, then ask around where they take bus to Sharjah/Ajman, ask for Visa Medical typing center.

I think its 200 dirhams or there about, they will type and and book your medical online at Sunapor, thats where Medical fitness centre(Dubai Health Authority) is located.

Afterwards you take go with the print out to DHA for your Medicals.

Note: You must go with your original Employment visa else they wont attend to you.

Hope this helps.

...actually he is a nigerian immigration man...
Aka visa fraudster.

If he is a genuine immigration officer then he would have told you exactly where to get medical certificate.

Have you ever seen people buy medical certificate? Have you ever seen anywhere medical certificate is sold?

I know you will not listen to this but you will understand when he is done with you.

It depends on your GP. if you have a minimum of at least 2.9 or approximately 3.0 on a 5 point scale, you will stand a good chance of gaining admission. However, that would be more likely in programme with a non-restricted admission policy.
so the wise thing is to choose as many schools as possible especially those with open admission if your GP is above 2.9 or safely 3.0 on a 5 point CGPA scale.

Hope you find it useful
Good luck!

@SimplyAlfy, thanks for those words of encouragement. I replied your PM more than twice and even sent you a mail more than thrice and still didn't get a valid reply as your replies were coming in blank.. You can send me your whatsapp number or you bbm

Follow the person first then send PMthat is how it works, dropping your contact details here is not a good idea.

When was she interviewed?

thank U wise. but I would like to know the problems that I may encounter if I use my brother's sponsorship, because I don't work to have such amount of money?
Only your father, mother or legal guidance can sponsor you. If your brother truly want to sponsor you then have the money in your account, you don't need to proof the source of the money. It's not part of student visa requirements.

Congrats Phema nd Santa on ur smooth poe experience!Damsel nd all new momas that jst delivered, congrats to yu all.
I need d gurus opnions on dis issue bothering me,am so confused nd need ur urgent response.
I got b1b2 visa few weeks ago and I told d VO I was going to av my baby in the usa .My hubby's office health insurance covers my maternity in d usa.Hubby wrote to the insurance company whose office in usa to ask for the procedure and they replied that his insurance covers all my maternity bill in the usa but they asked we send them the name of the hospital we intend to use so they can pay directly to them and then give us a settlement note.My fear is will it affect my subsequent renewals? Is a non citizen/perm resident allowed to use her health insurance for medicals in the state? Kindly advice as am so scared and wouldn't want to have problem in my subsequent renewals. Thanks
You got nothing to worry about. Send them the hospital name so as to get the bill paid. You will need the receipt and other paper work for POE.

Hi justwise, pato231, spikesC and the rest of the team. You guys are doing a great job.

I am going to get the rest of my money (balance of School fees + Maintenance) today, and the 28 day count will thus begin today and end around the 26th of December. The earliest enrollment date on my CAS is 26th January, 2015 and the course begins on the 2nd February.

Facts:
1. Account matures around 26th December, 2014
2. Earliest enrollment is 26th January, 2015 and Course start date is 2nd February, 2015

My questions:
1. From my understanding of the Visa process here, it takes around 3 weeks, correct?
2. The UKVI takes some form of holiday around late December to January, I have searched extensively for the duration without success, when is it? Can I still submit an application and get an interview date in January since it wont be a total no-work holiday?
3. Finally, from experience, do you think I should ask for an extension of resumption date from my school, RGU Scotland, considering the situation at hand...?
4. I am co-asking the below:

Thank you sirs.
Ask your school for 2 weeks extension and submit your application on 27th of Dec, you still stand a chance.

Hi guys

Is there any problem if I do not do the sponsorship thing by myself but have a sponsor who will pay for the living expenses and tuition fees?

the university I applied to says no need for deposit since I have a sponsor who has signed an agreement to pay, will that reduce my chances of securing visa, in as much as my sponsor has sufficient funds to cover at least the first year of my living expenses and tuition fees?
Who is your sponsor?

Same sentiments here.

However, the naval dude is her boyfriend, maybe that would justify why she'd spend all that money for the trip. I feel bad already for her.
She made a mistake by stating that is going to be spending that big chunk out of her salary/savings on a short trip, she should have stated that the boyfriend will be picking up all the cost, that will leave her with enough back home and her salary as tie to Nigeria.

If you earn little and going to visit somebody who leaves above average lifestyle in the UK, chances are that you 'may' not come back because you have little or nothing to come back to.

Please someone should advise me on how to get a hotel confirmation letter for at trip to a Brazil. The truth is that I do not actually want to pay for hotel room as I will stay in a friend house for th duration of the stay. It is clearly written in the embassy page of Brazil that I will need a hotel booking confirmation to enable me enter the country. I have checked some hotels and they need a credit card to guarantee the reservation and I can cancel a day before check in date. If I book and get the confirmation letter and cancel, will the letter still be valid?

No it will not.

If its GTB master card, you must be using online banking, have your token else it won't work. Use a visa card or keystone master card.

@Justwise, I have this quick question. Someone I know. She earns 65,000 ngn a month and her bank statement have a balance of about 350,000 ngn. She said she has 270,000 ngn to spend for the trip and that includes tkt. Ticket is 102,000 ngn. Her host is providing her accommodation and take care of every other expenses. I knew all those details after she went for biometrics and I kind of feel she wont be given. What do you think?

BTW,her host is a Citizen , a naval officer and every other documentation from her and hostis OK but I just feel the money is not enough. I wish she told me earlier sad
That will be a problem, she doesn't earn enough and at the same time she is planning to spend more than 3months of her salary within a short period, basically she will be left with just N800 after the visit. Very slim chances.
