Sanchez01: I said it long before now. I was believing I would land somewhere in Africa. That way, I would still be connected to Nigeria without thinking I'm far away. I believe I have mentioned that several times on the thread.I'm sorry to say this but your understanding about traveling abroad and working is not up to the scratch. Career oriented traveling is one of the most amazing opportunities anybody can have because you are going with a job/training, work visa is not a problem, accommodation is not a problem, you basically learn and earn at the same time. Working for UN gives you that opportunity to grow career wise and move from country to country, even have the opportunity to have get diplomatic passport. You can still contribute to the development of Nigeria without living permanently in Nigeria. The problem with many of you with 1908 knowledge of living and working abroad is that you still think that everybody that leaves Nigeria is going to live there illegally, clean toilet and marry a pensioner to get a paper. |
prettymum: sorry i did not know i omitted the question..yes I was pregnant.. we were asked if we have the plan of giving birth in the state this year answer was no. we wanted to go on vacation before we had a rethink of having a baby there but my EDD is next year but will have to travel this yearYou made a mistake, it could go horribly wrong at the POE depending on who will be dealing with your case. Lying at the interview is not a good thing. Just make sure that you have all the money for the delivery and hospital arrangement made then pray long and hard to face them at the POE. Its 50/50 situation. |
Sanchez01: I registered well over a year ago and I was not replied until June. Fact is, I have always had this attachment towards field photography, other than field journalism. I believe the idea was that I would be trained for a while before setting out. Interestingly, I have never had the opportunity to use one of those powerful Nikon or Canon cameras before. I did want it initially, it wasn't like the whole thing came out of the blue. My mindset was that I would be taken in to work somewhere in Africa. It is no fantasy. And about the country, all I can state here is that it is an European country. I applied, got it, and then I had a change of mind because it didn't land me where I wanted. Interesting....so you would have traveled if you were given a country of your choice? |
Babalakin: if he reports it they will deport him cos his visa has expired. .just give me a link if u know any oneYour friend is even in a bigger trouble if gets a passport illegally from Nigeria while still in Russia. You can not have a passport issued to you in Nigeria without exit stamp from Nigerian immigration and entry stamp from Russian immigration.. He will be silly to try that. I don't know any corrupt immigration officer who will do that. |
majekdom2: no , am not bothered about one's ambition. My question is ...is it so easy to get a job as you have said.... my argument still remains constituting a nuisance to a made government when you have refused to clean the poo in your country. It's not easy getting a job abroad as a foreigner but it's not as bad as getting a job in Nigeria as a Nigerian. Let the foreign govt deal with their immigration issues its not up to you to worry about that. Whoever has the opportunity to leave Nigeria should do that, nobody should suffer blind patriotism. |
Hahyour: @justwise thanks so much..I will let you know the outcome by mondayNo worries, all the best. |
Hahyour: @justwise I should check what is there?? I don't get youCheck if your passport is there to be picked up. They might have processed your application and return it to visa centre |
Hahyour: @justwise I submitted on the 12th of septemberThen it's pointless sending any document now, too late, go to visa centre on Monday to check if it's there. |
Hahyour: @justwise....Please who am I to callThe British embassy and their contact details are in their website |
Hahyour: Hay your @justwise,spikkecc I was thinking of going to ikeja office on Monday and Tuesday again to see if I can give anode copy of the same consent letter to the person in charge of tier4 student visa..cos I was given a reference no to use send the Consent letter...pls advice me on what to do now coz am in a fix nowWhen did you send in your application? |
Hahyour: @justwiseam applying with my son of three years as my dependentOk, have you contacted them to know the situation of your application? You know sometimes your status will still remain the same until your visa comes out. |
Hahyour: [quote author@justwise...Pls I was told to drop a consent letter at ikeja where I submitted my application on the 12th,but I was not attended to...so I decided to use UPS To deliver the consent letter to Visa section British High Commission,I was given a reference no to show them when I get to ikeja ,am so worried now because all my friends have received a mall to pickup their visa..pls I need a urgent reply on what to doAre you applying with your kids? |
^^^^ |
Tell your friend to report it to Russian police and get a report from the police then use that to apply for a replacement from Nigerian embassy there |
majekdom2: you call that rusted .... No it isn't , you and I know it isn't easy making a living if you have not the neccessary skills and expertise. I am not against travelling to gain international exposure or knowledge.... infact , it gives you an edge in securing a good job in Nigeria. I am against travelling out for greener pastures to become a liability to another government. What is wrong with traveling abroad to get that skill and stay there to live and work? Why should it bother you when people decided on their own, with their money and resource to travel abroad for better life? |
majekdom2: oh , you dont ... it is not my level of satisfaction . I am aiming higher seeking something better .... but I dont have to run..and if everyone runs , who will be left. my job can take me anywhere in the world.... after 2 years of being mentored.... I go for trainings already, am just one plus years gone. I don't have to run to somewhere where I would have to lick someone's a*rse to make a living. This goes to show your level of understanding, with your rusted knowledge of living and working outside Nigeria I will forgive you for saying that. |
majekdom2: yea , am on that level .... so tell me why I have to run away from here ,when I can provide for myself and even my next neighbour. when am not being taxed ridiculously.. at the end of the year the net is 5mil plus....tell me if I would have to wait for the government to give me food or my family shelter.Yea I get your point...you don't need to run away because that is your level of satisfaction, that is enough for you but for other people they want something more, they want to try other environments, they want to move from every joe level to more meaningful lifestyle, they want stable environment, they want to have quality healthcare, education, unteroputed water and power supply, good road network, ess corruption and be happy. |
majekdom2: OH , I never saw that . ... yes , I pay my bills , I earn a good salary. I am climbing up the ladder .... nuturing my ambition. you wanna know ... I ll give you my linkedin profile..... and its not just me .2 of my friends have changed jobs with 2 different multinational companies this year ... so what are we talking. we are just first degree holders , no foreign masters yet.Oh...disappointed...I actually thought you have gone passed every 'joe' kind level with the way you talk....not surprised though. |
majekdom2: OK, I guess you are still in nigeria... why are you still here ?That is out of the picture, my question is....with all the biographies of the rich and famous people you have read are you now a millionaire? Have you made it? I mean only a lazy man will be poor in Nigeria and there is no excuse for failure. |
majekdom2: hehehe .... you are so funny. I read not to live like ... but to gain from experience ... how old are you ? you follow a path of success not failure. there will always be poor amongst us ,the choice is left for you to be rich or poor..... and a reason for you to choose to be rich is to be a blessing to the poor..... bro , you learn from people that have gone ahead of you . I am yet to see a nigerian who left here for greener pastures and after some years he is listed as the richest man abroad ..... even the said nigerian VC abroad had his degrees abroad . don't you get it ..... you are a minority.....and yes , I have spent vacations abroad. If I ask you what is your definition of success.Trust me i'm old enough to know that you are talking rubbish. Why do you need to be the richest man or woman abroad to be regarded as a success? So are you a millionaire? You have all these wonderful ideas and you believe that there is no excuse for failure. |
majekdom2: I can't answer that for you .... its no theories bro . do you read ? if yes , do you read through biographies of successful people ? if yes , you will always find the zeal right from childhood... I know you might say travelling abroad is some zeal too .... yea , but not blaming it on a failed government you understand now ?I knew it, i know you have been wasting your time reading about other people's success stories trying to implement it to every situation. There are thousand and one biographies of rich and famous people written years ago but at the same time poor people still exist even within their friend circles. When will you realize that people cases are different that what works for you may not work for me? The environment you flourish in may be my worse place to survive in. Why do we have this enclosed and limited mind set of definition of success? Have you traveled and lived abroad to know what success feel like as compare to what its in Nigeria? |
majekdom2: oh , you misunderstood that ....I never said you have to win awards .... what I said was ' having something to be remembered for ' ..... If thats their dream , what reason have they travelled for .... this should tell you if they are failures or successes. there is a reason for you being NIGERIAN "don't you think so ? No i don't and the more you go on with this 'theory' the more you confuses me. Maybe you tell me....what is the reason for being a Nigerian? |
majekdom2: you just state it .... examples are proofs ..success is being a blessing to others not at your loss tho ... this means you must have achieved you dreams and set goals. sadly , majority don't hae goals, thats why they run here and there....and my question is...how will you know if those who traveled abroad without wining village recognized awards have achieved their dreams? |
majekdom2: bro , its as simple as that ...... you should give me convictions as to being successful abroad , when nothing good has been attributed to you here in nigeria. How will you know if i state it here? And what is your definition of success? |
majekdom2: yes , I mean right from ur childhood , if your family or neighbourhood can't point to anything tangible you have achieved .... then failure is imminent dont you think so ? if you never won awards or was creative all through ur childhood and then on like that .... what then can you make ofurself abroad?Seriously what planet are you living on? I'm trying to remain calm while i reply this but you are just unbelievable |
Silkmoth33:Its a shame. |
bebe2: HahahaUnbelievable! confused bunch of people writing without any personal experience about the issue |
