Anyi3: Exactly... Maturity date was 15th August. I applied for the visa 29th August. The day the certificate was printed was 16th July.
So I was thinking they would see it as money lodged in 16th July and kept till 15th August

Or was I wrong. I appreciate your input.
That is the most important date, that is when the money is free for use.

You started counting the 28days too late and running short of time before sending in your application

KazNaija: They clocked 28 days. 3 statements. All gtb.
If the money in those 3 accounts are enough to cover your fees and maintenance money and clocked 28days then you can go for review or reapply pointing out their mistake, it all depends on your course resumption date.

She retired in 2006 and has travelled to USA and UK numerous times since then but this is the first time she is renewing her UK since the 5years visit visa expired in 2010. She earns good pension from her former employeers and has properties and shops wher she earns rental income.

KazNaija: There were 3 bank statements all in the same name and their reason was insufficient funds when they didn't count the 3rd statement with over 5m
justwise: How many bank statements did you submit and did they all clocked 28days?

ducii: You said Nigerians in Nigeria don't send money abroad, i am just saying that some of them abroad get sent money folks here in Nigeria, some get sent money monthly for living expenses, some send money to family members struggling to pay their rent or mortgages, so it happens maybe you have not seen but it happens.
I'm tempted to accuse you of making that you

Anyi3: Thanks for responding. My actual question is "Are treasury bills accepted as a form of evidence of funds?"
Thank you
What was the maturity date of the treasury bill?

jamela: 50 inches. I don't have the actual dimensions.
That is quite big and will cost you a lot bringing it here, courier will charge you a lot just to cover the insurance just in case anything happens to it AND custom may also charge you only if you managed to convince them that you did not order it from outside the UK.

TV licence is a matter of when....that will only cost you about £160 a year..

How you checked the price of the same TV and spec here?

Anyi3: New here. Unfortunately I received a visa denied. Maintenance funds the reason. Adding up the fees I need to show is twenty three thousand pounds and I have 28 thousand pounds. The problem was twenty two thousand pounds of my money was in treasury bills.

justwise was that wrong I want to make an appeal but appeal says I shouldn't attach any other information. I want to attach extra papers showing the treasury bill has been running for over a year.
No you are not allowed to add supporting document, the ECM will only review the same document you submitted during your application and your review statement.

passionup11: Hello guys,
I want to commend you gurus on the job u guys are doing here. Months ago I sought enquiries on whether a visa could be issued to me bearing in mind my circumstance then. I had been an over stayed in the UK my visa and had misrepresented facts when I reapplied and was denied 3 times. I had enquired whether with my situation, I would be given a visa under my circumstance. I was told by so many people that I had been banned for 10 years and I shouldn't even try to apply. Kindly note that I had served my 1 year ban as an overstayer. Some knowledgeable person said I will be throwing my money into the bin if I continue applying. I was distraught but I wasn't defeated when it comes to trying. I was nominated by my organisation for a course mid year in the UK.
I had to put in an application. Luckily , I was given a visa. Upon arrival at Heathrow, I was delayed for about 30 mins but was allowed to go in after clarifications/investigations inside their office. I went for my training and left. I learnt my lessons. what lessons did I learn? my viewpoint to situations like mine is that its not every misdemeanour that you commit that attracts 10 years ban. People must be able to assess their infractions and give an application a try. I learnt a lot here and I used the information I got from this forum to fill my form and state my situation in the space for additional information and explained in clear details every bit of my situation and I think that apart from God in situations like this, my explanation would have aided my application.
I can't remember the case you are referring to and the particular post, this is your first post here and this ID was registered about 3 weeks ago.

jamela: Could anyone pls inform me on the best way to transport my tv to the uk? Is it best to use a courier or just tag along with it to the airport and book extra luggage? If I use the second option, do I have to worry abt duty fees at the airport and I hope tv license ppl would not try tracking me to my house as I'm yet to get accomodation and don't want to be asked to provide one at POE.
God! Are you for real? Brining TV to the UK?

pansophist: As for the bolded, Are the majority of the nationals you mentioned desperate to immigrate elsewhere? compare that to Nigerians and get back to me. The nationals you also mentioned usually immigrate for legit reasons like jobs, family and less likely for greener pastures compare to Nigerians.

As for your other point, will you compare tha amount of crimes in Nigeria and amongs Nigerians in the diaspora to the crime commited by lets say Swedes (regardless of place of domicile)? In as much as I agree with you that a criminal will always be a criminal regardless of nationality and status, you still fail to see beyond the circumstance that makes people criminals. Nigerians are simply a victim of their native society who care less about them.

Most of the people you perceived as criminals are usually those at the bottom ladder of the society, with no viable way of survival and in order to make ends meet, they delve into criminal activities. The criminals in developed countries too are usually not poor people, but paedophiles, lunatics or socially excluded individuals. If you examine most countries all around the globe, you will realize that majority of the peaceful countries are the developed ones which the government cares about the citizens.

Crime and immigration will decrease to a very large extent if the country emerges as a condusive place to live, as simple as that.
You wouldn't know whether French or Americans are desperate to immigrate to other countries because they are not under visa restriction like Nigerians, so you don't have a point on that.

Nigerians to the large extent are victims of their own chase of excessive material wealth, let's stop shifting blames.

Those who commit these crimes are not at the bottom ladder of the society, politicians and pastors who steal with impunity are not at the bottom ladder. 419ners who dupe people and keep doing it even after making millions out of it are not at the bottom ladder.

Blaming the govt is just a lazy excuse because even in developed countries individuals despite the fact that they have free education, health service, houses and maintenance money still commit crimes just like Nigerians

nateevs: Lewis wins. I had my heart in my mouth wanderng if he could create that 27 seconds gap he needed for a last pit stop. 3pt gap. Well done LH.
I was relaxed when he came out in front of Ricciardo because vettel is struggling with grip and he pitted far earlier than LH.

Great wkend for me, to cap it all United lost 5.3 today....next City beat Chelsea .... grin grin

nateevs: A crucial situation to witness is how Nico handles this new pressure. If Lewis wins this, he will be behind.
When was the last time he was behind? Before Monaco?
Cynically I think this is good for him, fans will get off him back now and feel sorry for him which will help his confidence

Yes/No, 3points gap is not a lot considering the reliability issue Mercedes cars have, only if they both going to have problem- free race from now on

pansophist: Now you table a very balanced point unlike chinom. He made it appear as if Nigerians are the only one commiting crime abroad, Third world nationals are all commiting crime abroad too. The Pakis, Indians, Chinese, Polish etc

What I am simply trying to pass out is that it wont get to this extent if the affairs of the citizens are not neglected, and given the fact that this crime of a thing got to an escalating degree after post-independence calls for logical reasoning. Why will the citizen immigrate when they feel comfortable? most folks that I know in Nigeria that are comfortable only go abroad for holidays and visit, not to live or try to commit one crime or the other

Human natural instinct (searching for a better life) will always prevail legally or illegally, it's all a survival method but different circumstances influence the direction of which it will talke.
Again you are wrong, British, Americans, French...all travel to other countries to live permanently not because they are coming from poor countries but because its a human nature to move from place to place.

The point you are missing here is this.... a criminal is a criminal, even if Nigerian govt provides all they need..criminal minded individual will still look for more, will still travel to other countries to keep stealing.

Majority of Nigerians who traveled out are not poor, they are average and above in rich scale but at the same time can't stop committing fraud outside Nigeria. If they are really down the poverty level then they wouldn't be able to afford visa application fee let alone flight ticket.
