Pirooo: Tx Justwise. I knew I did apply late but that was because I am getting a govt financial sponsorship. I couldn't apply until I got the sponsorship letter and introduction letter.

Meanwhile, a few of my peers who applied after I did have gotten their visas. Though they applied in abuja.

Wait and see what happens...you never know....

pansophist: Blaming the government is not an escapism, if the government has made Nigeria better in terms of infrastructures, jobs and other social amenities that will make the mass comfortable, then I see no reason why Nigerians will commit much heinous crime abroad in order to obtain residnecy. Emigration from Nigeria also started skyrocketing as things begins to go bad in the country, it was not in this case in the past 30 years, so why now? why the sudden desperation of change and mentality?

The country you mentioned as a defense to your post doesnt support whatt you are trying to prove.. Botswana population is about 2million, Botswana is so small and Botswana is one of the good countries to live in Africa, their passport can take you to many countries and the government are up to their task. Zimbabwe in the second hand is a very small country too compare to Nigeria, their government trying to make life comfortable for its citizens and are not in the same league as Nigeria.

Papua new guinea is also a very bad example too, PNG are scattered all over Australia in detention camps, seeking asylum and trying anything possible to leave the country, they dont have to go to Europe, US before you are convinced that they do not have the same mindset of fleeing if given the opportunity. PNG is geographically closer to Australia, and just like Mexicans flee to US at any given opportunity, the same applies to citizens of PNG too.

If you combine the population of the three countries you mentioned, it is slightly over the population of Lagos state (one of the 36 states of Nigeria) alone, so why compare them to Nigeria?

I reiterate, if Nigerian government make Nigeria a favourable place to live, Nigerians wont be destroying the image of the country offshore, it is years of malfuntioning that has gone so bad that the average mindset is to immigrate legally or illegally, and it is common with the folks in the lower rung of the social ladder. The citizens are to be blame too, but they are just a victim of a society that care less about them.
Do you really believe that? China is a very wealthy country but at the same time many Chinese are committing as much heinous crimes in the UK as most Nigerians, you don't blame the govt for crimes Nigerians commit outside Nigeria.
This got little to do with Nigerian govt not developing the country, America and the UK etc are very developed countries and their govt look after them but their citizens engage in frauds in much larger scale than Nigerians, do you blame their govt?

Nigerians outside Nigeria commit crimes purely because they are greedy.

Pirooo: Prof Justwise & Others,

Kindly give your candid advice.

I submitted my application at Teleperformance Lagos on 1st sept. I have been checking on them and ukvi after I realized what I've gotten myself into from information on this thread.

Ukvi's response to my email on Frid is attached.

My school already resumed and lecture starts tomorrow.

Can I cancel my visa application at this stage cos I'm already thinking of Jan option if I get a good school.

Kindly advise.
You applied too late, canceling it now wouldn't make any difference, let it run it course, if you got refused based on late application you can still reapply for Jan admission.

I mean when can I start using it such that it could fall below 9180?

Am I still required to present evidence of funds to anyone?

Thanks

grin grin That money is yours 100%, what you do with it is nobody's business but proof that the money is available to you for use in the UK, so...the only place you 'maybe' asked randomly about that money is at the POE, just hold some cash...£1000 to £2000 cash and tell them(if asked) that you have the remaining on card or it will be transferred to you when you get to the UK, settled and open bank account.

JayKayMaybachz: Lol... what i mean is that.... some peeps really abide to the norms of the church..... "christianity" ah mean... some really don't .... buh at the end of the day, the still believe in God.... Meanin we ain't in ghuud position to ask who is really following up.... Only God does

I asked that question because some Nigerians especially are very good at quoting scriptures but awful at doing a tiny % of scripture they quote.

This is one of the reasons why despite the fact that we have churches in almost every street in Nigeria, many tongue speaking and devil castling 'men' of God Nigerians are still regarded as one of the most corrupt and dishonest people in the world.

Our actions speak opposite of what we preach.

@Op...to answer your question...if i'm in love with somebody and we respect each other's principles then her faith will not bother me.

Believing in God will not be in my top 10 list of criterias because merely saying that you believe in God does not mean that you also do the will of God

@Hahyour

That is very uncommon because they don't normally make such call asking for the source of income and where an applicant plans to stay.....this is a sign of policy change as regards to source of finance.

That said...genuine students has nothing to worry about, you should be able to answer any question if called regarding your course or source of your money.

This sort of thing is triggered by suspicious activities by the applicant. The UK student visa is the easiest to obtain and the rules and requirements are straight forward but that will change pretty soon as people continue to abuse the financial requirement aspect of it because that is a big loophole in the system.
