safarigirl: you apparently know nothing if you assume you'll just travel out and a job will be waiting for you no matter how degrading.

I'll have you know that even the citizens of wherever you're travelling to would also be interested in that shiiit cleaning business you were hoping to snag....

Whatever money you'll make there will be taken away from you in the name of tax. Nigerians don't even know how good they have it here. You watch a few American movies and you think going abroad will be awesome. Na when dem ship your dead body come Naija na that time your relatives' eye go clear.

Only a lazy man will be poor in Nigeria, people in this country run businesses and make up to 100,000 naira per week, some per day even, when they've settled all bills, they cart home at least 2 million naira quarterly.

Seun, Linda Ikeji and co didn't make their money abroad. Banky W, tiwa Savage, seyi shay, Don Jazzy had to leave foreign lands to come and make money here. You never ask those oness wey go come back wetin make them return, you wan go.

I wish you adieu and make sure some red-neck racist c?nt doesnkt end you while you're hustling there
Do you really believe that? Only a lazy man will be poor in Nigeria? Making 100,000 naira per week as a business man is not a lot of money considering the fact that student working part time in the UK during the summer can make that much after tax and still enjoy free health care, 24/7 electricity and water supply, good road network, faster internet connection, relatively secure environment and higher life expectancy.

I understand that we Nigerians measure level of success by how much money we have in the bank and not by standard of living and quality of our health.

perfect08: I got the same message yesterday evening too.

@justwise and @spikeC is it can the deputy high commission(consulate) make decision? or they will send it to the High Commission.

It doesn't matter who makes the decision, ECOs make decision on behalf the high commissioner

MallamYahaya: Congratulations.

Oga @Justwise I'll need you input here as well as the input of others.

I put in application for my family and I (wife and son) on September 17, 2014 at the TP center in Victoria Island, Lagos. Unfortunately I could not pay for return by courier in the center as my master card was blocked. Is it possible to still pay for courier delivery after attending the interview?

Before now a lot of persons have complained about the delay experienced by those who used Teleperformance. It seems this is no longer the case. I can read about those who have started collecting their passports/visas in good time. For someone who submitted on the 17th of September, 2014 and got an email from UKVI stating that application has been received, how long should one be looking at for a decision to be made?

My wife and I applied for a visit visa last December and received our passport back within 11 consecutive days via courier.

I am going for a PhD. My school starts on October 1st.
You can pick it up from visa centre when its ready, no need paying for courier, in my opinion the courier thing delay it even longer.

As regards to processing time...its difficult to put exact time and date on it but recently they are getting faster with processing applications.

Missyrety: @just wise my visa was refused based on the maintenance funds.bank statement date...long story.
I have contacted my school for another cas
Would I be needing an extension letter from the school?

Can I use fixed deposit account as it is too late to be counting to 28days?

Then if I want to use the 28days one , the money must be in the account for 28days rite without any transaction prior to submission?

Then my school said october 6 is the last day for resumption? Logically wt dod u think abt my re applying and I was hopin 2 use ikeja this time?
What was wrong with your bank statement date?

The answer is Yes, but it does not mean that you will be refused or given.

claremont: People would always migrate from one place to the other for various reasons. In the EU, citizens of any of the countries migrate from one country to another in search of a better life. Some Americans have been known to migrate to Australia and even as far as the EU all in a bid to eke out a better existence. My point is that migration is a universal characteristic of the human species; and hence, its manifestation among the Nigerian populace is not abnormal, it is a universal norm.

The notion that ''If you cannot make it in Nigeria, you can't make it anywhere else'' is not only ill-informed, but it reeks of ignorance. The first thing that strikes anyone who reads such a statement is ''make it'', everyone's definition of that phrase is different. Some people are quite happy to eke out a miserable existence in a country with appalling public infrastructure, abysmal public services, blatant corruption, and a healthcare system that is a joke. To these people, getting paid peanuts whilst working in the aforementioned country is what they define as having ''made it''.

Thankfully, not everyone believes in sacrificing their destiny on the altar of blindfolded patriotism. This is why people would always migrate. The lure to live a life better than the one currently been lived is far greater than the pull of a below-average abysmal existence they call ''making it in Nigeria''

samiam123: I would like to sincerely thank the makers of this forum and all the posters, you have helped me more than you can know. I applied for my visa on September 5th at teleperformance and collected it today. I owe part of the success of my application to this forum. I have never posted on here before and I didn't even have a nairaland account but I had to create one solely to thank all of you.
I was so scared that my application would be refused, I came to this forum everyday and reading everyone's posts gave me hope.

God bless you all.

Do i have stronger chances if i reapply with all the extra information above + my parent's bank accounts since im dependent on them
Thanks in advice smiley
Having money in your account is not good enough you still need to show how you earn that money. It will be a lot easier if you work or ow a business.

Your parents can sponsor you if you are under 18 years of age but as an adult it's going to be difficult.

Rayhut: This forum is giving me negative side of view,I google international forum they gave me some positive side of view and the way out,my relative went to Europe through similar process,he is now a citizen of spain after 3years and he is living in switzerland, one of my friend is also living in scotland, my own wont be different, instead of me to remain in Nigeria searching for job for more than 8months after my youth service is better for me to sieze this opportunity and restle the odds and became a citizen in next 4years than to continue to suffer in nigeria, people that i know came out successfully and my own case will be the same.
Rayhut: But my relative went the same way and he is a citizen of spain now,I have contacted him,he told me that Germany dont deport people now that they are very lenient now with immigrant, that if worst come to worst that i should enter underground train and come to switzerland where he is living since i can speak french, but he said that germany is better for now
Rayhut: I have three months Shengen German visa, I dont want to return to Nigeria, please what is the possible way in which I can stay in Germany without deportation.

opsynusy: well their experience is needed, its not all about just filling the forms and most of them knows the in and out of the embassy that's why you see some people with full documents, yet they were denied and the ones with few documents were approved... no w I didn't say you are wrong before you crucify me o,just adding my quote
This is the level of naivety i'm talking about, this level of reasoning is so embarrassing to read.

Agents know jack about in and out of embassy working, yes they may know a gateman and the receptionist who in most cases are local employees of the embassy, that is it.

They don't know who makes the decision on your visa application.

Nigerians..smh

ferdimako: I don't believe she will call it evil if she learns, that helped her application. This is how Nigerians have been wired.

It's desperation not naivety.

Its naivety, this is what i don't get....some Nigerians with all our degrees and all sorts of certificates still don't know the implications of giving an agent ALL your personal details, i mean All and pay that agent just to fill a form for you. This agent can now do whatever he likes with your details and the consequences will be on you.

Honestly if you can read, write and understand instruction and you still need an agent to fill a form for you then you wasted your time and money going to school.

I cud rmber last year, Chrigo was accused wrongly of promoting oluwole and was banned for some days). Chux4liv believe u shouldn't jump into conclusion since u dnt have all the details (na true, cos u dnt know d relationship between the agent and the other person. For sure, documents can b collected on ones behalf, atleast in naija). Opsynusy doesn't know and nt interested in knowing if it is fake or not. She has submitted and nothing can b done about it. I think the points are noted. We shouldn't talk to one another as if "I will b d last person to talk". One love.

Deciphyr: Hello. I'm a Serbian residing in Cyprus which has been refused entry to the UK because of not showing strong ties to my country and not providing enough financial data. Ive sent my savings account booklet but they haven't even attempted to read it (it has 3000pounds). I'm a temporary resident of Cyprus although i was born here. The only thing i have under my name is a car and i will be supported by parents during my trip.
I'm currently unemployed, finished high school last year. What other documents can i send to be accepted this time? How can i prove my ties to Cyprus?
P.S i have already booked and payed for flights and accommodation because i found them cheap and the trip is going to last 4 days only
and i also have 2 Cypriot friends traveling with me, can they be used as any form of guarantee of my return to Cyprus?
What did you submit as source of the money in your account?

You may have to cancel your ticket and hotel booking for the main time

Anyi3: I understand your point. However I plan on packaging a review, where I explain things. So please can I send an email or I have to mail physical papers? And do I just send the review documents or I should send my passport and all other credentials I used for earlier application?

Thanks
You can do both if you want but you are not allowed to send passport or any other credentials along with it, just the review form, if your review is successful you will be asked to submit your passport for visa.

opsynusy: ok o but since I don't know,i can't say...see no evil,hear no evil,speak no evil,know no evil

That will only make sense if you haven't allowed somebody to carry out evil deed on your behalf..

I'm not saying all these to make you feel bad but to warn others who are naive enough to allow agents to ruin their future plans.

chux4liv: There are possibilties that the agent forged the transcript and there is also possiblities that he didnt forge it... The last time ((6years) I went to collect my transcript from WAEC to be sent to a school in Finland, I was asked to pay money into the bank, bring the teller to WAEC office.. and Fill a form. I met some other people who came to do for their brother, sister or friends.

My point still remains, you should have done some questioning before ascertaining if the agent forged or not.

What questioning? Were you born yesterday? An agent walked into a school or WAEC and get a transcript for you? Some difficult truth need to be told, there is no point trying to hold back so as to please some people.
Travel › Re: Travelling To Canada Part 6 by justwise(mod): 9:06am On Sep 23, 2014
opsynusy: @justwise no 1, I think it's not right to jump into conclusions like that..no 2..i said WHICH HE DID FOR ME,i didn't say which he forged for me,i gave him my original o level cert before I went for my nysc camp, now either he forged the transcript or collected it on my behalf(cos he has access to all these schools)...I can't conclude, all I know was my transcript was gotten and i didn't bother asking since I don't believe in o level transcript ..dont be too fast to judge...no 3...I AM A LADY!
Don't be careless with your application, he can't get transcript from WAEC or schools without your consent, he can't just get it like that....

I still maintain my earlier comment that he forged it and submitted on your behalf.

Wish you the best outcome though.

KazNaija: The statement was printed on 28th of August to meet appointment on 29th at Ikeja. Ikeja said I didn't choose Tier 4 so i went to TP VI on 1st September. The full amount was in account on 4th of September. The ECO looked at statement date of 28th and picked amount there on the 1st of August. I thought they would count from date of application (1st sept).
If CAS was not mentioned in the refusal letter can it be used again?
Calm down before you make another mistake....

1. You can't reuse CAS, get another one from your school.

2. When did you deposit that money for 28days counting?

3. Is the account in your name?
