curiobling: omg this is a huge lesson for all
What they did is one of the quickest ways of getting a stay in the UK without marrying or living with that person but not with a married woman.

If she was single and he is married as a British passport holder/ILR then she stands a good chance of getting a stay.

capsie18: Hello house,
I have been really following this thread for a while now and I say many thanks to those who have contributed...I was given 5 admission offers for university of derby, university of bradford, university of east london, university of sunderland and university of norhampton...all of them in engineering..I am in a dilemma right now as to which one 2 actually go for based on employabilty after study and flexibility for immigrants though I am aware that the uk is really though right now for post study and work options..pls anyone based on your experience which do u advice me to choose as I have not been to the uk before. Also I have stated the schools on here based on my preference scale.thanks alot.
Going by current ranking ...university of Northampton, university of derby, university of Sunderland, university of Bradford, forget about university of east London, its a waste of money.

Bradford is one of the cheapest city to live in the UK but fees is higher, Sunderland will give you £1500 scholarship of you pay all the fees before the start of your course reducing your fees to about £8000, i'm not sure about Northampton but Derby is another affordable city with lower fees as well.

curiobling: justwise dont you think this people ignorant might land them in trouble for this poster wife might have filled her original husband name as her spouse to erupt name discripancy and should the wife be smart enough to have used the younger brother's name omg the lady has automatically become legal wife on record and can claim benefit of all the brother hav lol
Its messy already, she submitted her marriage certificate during visa application in Nigeria, that is in the system, she got to the UK and use NHS which she is not entitled to, another man claimed to be the daddy and she is applied for a stay based on that.

The whole thing is fraudulent messy business. Claiming child benefit will even make the offence more serious because that is another level of benefit fraud.

curiobling: british legal system permit adoption of any person below the age of 18 years....you are safe to claim that your brother and you agreed to allow him adopt the now British baby while you remain the valid owner of the marriage certificate that testified you validly marry to your wife. Dont be too panic though your action and inaction is foolish but you can still enter UK as husband to your wife while you quickly tell your brother right now to prepare papers to complete adoption process with a brilliant lawyer but you no longer owns the baby under law barr@law
You making a mistake, his younger brother has claimed to be the daddy already and birth certificate issued on that bases, so what has that got to do with adoption?

ratio2base2: House, Please I am new here as someone just recommended this site to me. He said the people here are very helpful and I have an issue that I would like you to help me out with the following:

1) My wife has a 2 year UK visiting visa and she has delivered our baby there this Jannuary. 2) My junior brother who is using a British passport claimed to be the baby's father and the baby now has a Britsh passport.
3) My wife and I are married, and I was her sponsor/husband when she applied for her visiting visa. She submitted our marriage certificate and wedding pictures at the time
Currently, my wife has applied for a settlement that is yet to be decided, and we are still very married.
4) Lastly, I am trying to apply to the UK for the first time, and I would like to fill her name as my wife, submitting the same wedding certificate and pictures.

Will this affect me in anyway? Will I be linked to her? What is the best thing for me to do?
This is a massive mess, sooner or later your wife and your younger brother will be spending a long time in prison..definitely.

....yes and the temptation of working more than your visa allows you for more money.....lands you in an immigration hot water.

Good luck though.

emperoracro: @Oga Chrigo n Amefrica, how possible is it to work n study in Brandon, Manitoba. Is it possible to meet up?
It defends on what you need the money for, working to pay rent, bills and fees is hell on earth, done it for years in the UK and i can write a book on my experiences.

Working for extra cash wouldn't hurt you that much because you are not under any financial pressure, if you are depending on your weekly pay for your bills then your studies will suffer because there is no job security and you could be out of job and penniless anytime.

ocheejemb: No. The money has to be in your account or your biological or adopted parent's account (with proof that they are your parent). If he pays your full fees then all you have to show is maintenance funds of 820 or 1020 pounds per month for 9 months(if your course is longer than 6 mnths)
This answers your question ^^^

mhoreh: please my uncle had been responsible for my education, he wants to pay full tuition from his acct, print out the transaction so that i can add it with his bank statements and use as supporting documents, since it would show he paid the fees from the same account we re presenting. he is not willing to transfer money cos of exchange rate, will this work pls

just a clarification, even though they've already put in on the IV that they shoulder everything,do they need to put in the exact amt of money they will provide for my stay?and say £500 will be given for my entire budget while im there? did i got u right sir? thank you grin
They don't have to do that, since you will be staying with them that takes care of accommodation and feeding. Money in their bank statements will take care of things like shopping, transport within the UK and sightseeing etc.

Ik09: No one is saying it's a crime. You're not breaking any laws if you don't use the visa.

However, you're advised to inform the embassy. That's the main issue here.

That is unnecessary, there is no point whatsoever to inform the embassy. They don't need to know whether you have decided to cancel your trip or not.
Travel › Re: Schengen Visa Not Used by justwise(mod): 7:17am On Jul 08, 2014
Ik09: Wrong.

I have to agree with 3sha4lyf here: unused visas are not looked upon kindly the next time you apply for a schegen visa (or any other type of visa for that matter).

A quick google search will show you instances of people having problems getting a new visa because of an unused one that expired.

Please refrain from giving advice if you don't know what you're saying.

OP, you don't HAVE to inform the embassy. However, it'll most likely hurt your chances next time -especially if you can't explain to the person processing your application.
Under which immigration law did that fall into? Which immigration law has that person broken for not using that visa?

kkokoma: Hi everyone

I was supposed to travel to Europe for a program at my former school, but I only recieved the visa on the day the 3 day program was supposed to start so I decided not to travel.

Is the any implication for not using the visa? and is there any need for my to inform the embassy that I did not travel on the visa?

No, you got nothing to worry about.

kayeee4321: the £500 total cost will be given to me when im there since they will shoulder for all of my expenses there..so is it correct to still put in £650 for my available money for the trip? huh
Is that written in the IV sent to you? You can write £650 but its very very important that you use the space in the form to explain the situation clearly. They should state in IV that you will be given £500 for shopping or stuff, don't make any claim that is not supported by them.

Wait until you have those documents before filling the financial section of the form because they have to be accurate.

gaskinachi: hello house,

sorry if this has been answered before...pls what would a business man whose monthly income varies depending on how big the contract he works on for a particular month is fill in the 'What is your total monthly income from all sources of employment or occupation, after tax? box....second question..making an estimate of past business dealings...creating invoices to go with them and getting the said customers to sign...does this qualify as a proof of source of funds? Thanks for your patience guys...we newbies can be exasperating with our questions..pls bear with us. grin grin grin
You can write down your average monthly income and use the blank space in the form to explain why you don't have fixed monthly figure.

You don't have previous invoices?
