beejaybida: Good afternoon, group. I am scheduled to attend a 1 wk course in London in October. This course is sponsored by the govt agency I work with. I am also entitled to air tickets and estacode to accommodation, feeding etc. I wish to travel with my wife and infant child. I wish to apply for a student visitor visa for myself and tourist visas for my wife and child. I have a 2yr tourist visa myself which will expire in 2015. My questions are:

1. On the form where my wife is asked "does your spouse have visa already"? Should she say yes because of my tourist visa or NO bacause I don't have student visitor visa yet?

2. My account has done inflows/outflows in excess of 5 million since January 2014 all traceable to my employers as salaries/allowances. However I currently have about 250k sitting balance and will have about 500k by month-end. Can I apply with just 500k in acct, writing in section 8 of the form that my employers will give me estacode that will supplement the 500k?

Note that I will have a letter of intro saying the employers shall cover all expenses for me but I shall be responsible for my wife and child.

Thanks in advance!
1. Yes you have a visa already but use the blank space in the form to indicate the type of visa you have

2. Yes 500K is enough but you need to draw list of places you want to take your family to in the UK and budget the cost....accommodation, feeding, transport and shopping.

Jehovahshalom: thanks but this still doesn't give answer to the question, like the Nigeria passport holder it require of me to get tuberculosis test at approved center by UK in Nigeria ,now that am not in Nigeria what should I do,also vfs centre is not available here in the US as most of the citizen of US doesn't need visa to enter UK but me and my wife as permanent resident do need visa before admitted to UK
Its about where you live and not about your nationality, how long have you been living in US?

oladunwo: The issues r u didn't show your own personal account statement also there is no strong relationship between u and the cousin and also the uncle that is sponsoring you. My advise is that u show ur own statement of acct. since ua a dependant, it suld show in ur acct how money is being sent from family members to u, ur nxt application can be as a tourist so dat u won't have any connection with anyone in the UK And lastly, pray
How will that make any difference? Knowing somebody in the UK is not the issue, he got no home-tie, no job, no business, no wife, as an adult without those things getting a visiting visa is almost impossible. kids or pensioners can get visa easily with sponsorship but its not the case with somebody between the age of 20 to 50s

benfrost853: Hello sir
REFUSAL OF ENTRY CLEARANCE
In assessing your individual application ,it has no been necessary to interview you,but i have taken account of.
-The financial and employment information as declare by your application form
-your passport and travel history
-your family circumstance and
-the supporting document you have provided
i have used all the information provided by you to determine if the immigration Rules have been met in reaching my decision ,which you been made on the balance of probalities ,i note the following points
You have stated that you intend to travel to the uk to visit your cousin and that your uncle will be responsible fr the cost of the trip .However when coming to my decision i must take it into my consideration your own personal and financial circumstates in nigeria
.You have stated you are a student at Lagos state univerisity .whilst i acknowlege that you have submitted a letter, dates 28/05/2014 from the university .On question 57 of your applicaiotn you have stated that you have no savings, properties or income from any other sources.i therefore not satisfied that the dpcument provided demonstrates how you are supported in Nigeria.

Given the statements you have made and the documary evidence you have presented to supported your application ,i am nt satified that your circumstances in Nigeria, coupled with your reasons for wishing to travel to the uk are such that you have shown that your intentions are as stated or that you intend to leave the uk at the end of your proposed visit

Therefore i am not staisfied that you are genuinely seeking entry as a visitor for a limited period stated by you or that you intend to leave the uk at the end of your proposed visit as required by paragraph 41(i)and (ii)of HC395
I have therefore refused your application because i am not satisifed on the balance of probabilities thta you have met all the requirements of the relevant paragraph of the united kingdom immigration rules
Your right to a[[eal is limited to have the grounds refrred to in section 84(1) of the Nationslity of immigration and Asylum Act 2002
You don't have a strong tie-to-Nigeria, as a matured student getting a visa is tough because you got no source of income.

@OP

Your brother is 30 years of age and should be allowed to date/marry whoever he falls in love with, how about getting your own job, rent your own place and give him a space? What right have you got to dictate to him who to marry or date, who to shower together with or movie to watch?

jaboza: How do you mean what document was that...... the visiting visa has been denied since May....Am just asking can he apply for Study permit now or not.

You don't have to be rude, whether the visiting visa was denied in 2003 or last May the reason for the refusal may play a part in your next visa application no matter the type of visa

You really need to find out if the previous document given to you by your friend is forged, if its then the offense is on your record and may affect your next application
Travel › Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by justwise(mod): 12:22pm On Jul 12, 2014
This is the thing.....there is nothing wrong with comparing services offered by those two hospitals if you have used both, you can compare without deliberately damaging the image of one of the hospitals.

Speak about your experiences with the hospital you have used without dropping names, contact details of a doctor, or an individual who offers accommodation services etc

I think its obvious that certain individuals who came here to paint glorious pictures of one hospital or the other are agents/promoters, that is no secrete, before nairaland went down i banned couple of them and because of the loss of data during the attack some have resurrected again to continue the indirect ad

I'm actually glad that this debate is going on, i don't see anything wrong with, it shouldn't stop people from truthfully telling us about their experiences but i think it will give the agents/promoters another thing to think about.

mamamor: Please justwise I need your help I applied for UK general visitor visa last year with my 5 year old daughter.and I was refused the visa, with the following reasons.my aunt sent me an invite and I also made hotel reservation that I will stay with my aunt for a week and hotel for a week as well

That my account bal was low consequently to the time of application money start entering my account. And secondly I didn't give details of how I intend to spend my time why in the uk.and why in particular I choose UK for my holiday.so Dey belief I should have more details as per my intended place of holiday. That was it,

Please house I want to apply now dunno how to address the previous issues and if my aunt should send me another invite? Or if I need to present my company statement this time cause I used my personal savings account previously

Pls I need help on this as soon as possible
You only need to address those two points....the question now is...do you have enough money in your savings account now? Your company's account is only acting as your tie-Nigeria, money there is not for the trip(only if you are applying for business visa)

Daveicing: The Difference in the Visa feess for 5 and 10yrs is just 50k my broda.... within the past 2 yrs, I have visited the UK for up to 4 times, and trust me i do frequent Paris every 2 months.... and I just feel it's wise to have a longer duration visa to put the issue of visa renewals to rest jare....

I was actually going to renew for 5yrs before i had a chat with my boss who got a 10yrs visa at the expiration of his 2yrs visa... So he was just advicing me that if i do not mind the difference in the visa fees, that i can always pay the difference of that 50k to have a 10yrs visa as against the 5yrs.

So my broda, i am only trying to be very careful even though i know it's makes a lots of sense when it comes to savings on the visa fees, with their new visa fees wey dem just increase for 6months, 1yr, 2yrs and 5yrs.... It is only the 10yrs visa fees wey dem no increase at all men.

These are my reason bro.. Simply Put... Wanna have a longer duration visa at a stretch and also have some savings on the visa fees.
That travel history will hardly qualify you for 10yrs visa, if you are a business man who travels frequently to the UK then your request for 10yrs visa will have merit but traveling to the UK 2x a year on holiday will not stand out that much.

Though the cost issue you mentioned is true.
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by justwise(mod): 7:38am On Jul 12, 2014
joxiri: Yes you can apply for 10 yrs but I will advise you to go for 5 1st
In order to get 10 you will need to have either a solid job in nigeria, maybe family in the uk and also a very good travel history
If you have those then you can very much go ahead

That will not get you 10yrs visa, job in Nigeria does not mean you have to travel frequently and having family in the UK does not mean you have to visit monthly, they can visit Nigeria as well.

1. I submitted and paid online.
2. I withdrew the application and requested a refund.
3. I explained that i will be re-applyin once refunded.

Question is: can i make anoda application even thou they've not refunded the initial one?
Thanks

The only way to find out is to attempt then see if you will receive any error message at the process.

Daveicing: I wish to make a quick inquiry please.

I want to ask for an advice as regards my UK Visa renewal.

I currently have a 2yrs UK visa which will expire at the end of this month July 2014. My enqury is that i want to know ifI can proceed to request for a 10yrs UK visa at the expiration of my current UK visa.

I sent an email to visa.lagos@fco.gov.uk and the response they gave me is that every applicant is at liberty to request for any visa duration of their choice but it's at the descretion of the view officer to issue any duration he or she feels it's best for the applicant.

Kindly advice
Why not 5yrs first before going for 10yrs?

Tvegas: Ladies , you should all take a chill pill, i don't see a big deal when someone compares her experience between 2 hospitals. If truly el paso agents come here to hype their service then kudos to El paso for getting their marketing strategies right , this shouldn't get the MIHS clan angry.

I will rather love to see the MIHS clan telling us why we should use them instead of el paso. It's a faceless forum and it's wrong to blackmail people for sharing their mind, even going to the extent of calling them agents. I rest my case .
No they are getting it wrong, no indirect advert here.

My family and i travelled sometimes in Nov 2013 ti UK, i spent 3 weeks with them and i left them in the UK with my sister anyway but thety ended up stayin for 9 weeks out of the 6 months visa issued to them. my 2 kids and my wife 6months each and i am on 2yrs multiple. all our visas expired now, we re all due for renewal, pls is there any implication for them staying for 9 weeks which was not wat they filled in the form b4 getting the visa pLS ADVICE URGENTLY!!!
They could be asked at POE why they stayed beyond the stated number of days in their previous visit, its possible because many have faced same problem in the past
