youngbilly1: I gave him my passport in expectation to get the visa in it, he said he was gonna get a the 1yr visa from ghana and at the moment my passport is in ghana, we spoke today, he said my other friends visa is out because we were two who did together.
Pray that you get your passport back, forget about the money you wished him happy xmas with that money. Also pray that South Africa will not ban you for some years.

Knowledge9000: They are many who have been arrested in the past for the same offense but never made it to the media because they agreed to give some percentage to them. Mind you not everybody wants their name published on National Dailies and online, and associated with such an enormous sum of money...invitation for arm robbery we all know that by now. Besides, it is very stu$pid for these people to publish the names of these victims. The spine of post is that, yes many have been arrested but once threatened with publishing your name on national news, they give in not because they are guilty but reasons aforementioned. Those who refuse, they publish it because they have nothing to lose.
How do you know that? Since the story was not published online or offline, how do you know that they caught some people and accepted bribe?

olas2u: The exchange is done through mallams, its difficult to access foreign exchange through the banks in Nigeria, mallams only stamp the money and issue the receipts.well i get you.The bank rations the amount of exchange you can get from them.
Its his responsibility to make sure that he gets receipt either from mallam or the bank for any exchange, even if there is no receipt how about his bank statement?

Tell me this...if you are an immigration officer at the airport will you allow somebody carrying N71M cash to pass through without any explanation? He could have made the money through kidnapping, armed robbery or running away with his company's money. Do you think its ok to allow he go without any documentation?
Politics › Re: Passenger Arrested With N71m At Lagos Airport. by justwise(m): 1:15pm On Dec 25, 2012
olas2u: I know you travel a lot, many Nigerians in Asia live there and send the goods to Nigeria expecting there money back through this method,an it has happened for years.Chinese visa is difficult for some business men,so people dont bother they pool money together and give one person to ship for them.
olas2u? There is no excuse for any businessman to carry such amount of money CASH dreaming of passing through any airport without proper documentation, its just moronic, even if the money was put together by his whole village he should have paper prove about the source of money.
Politics › Re: Passenger Arrested With N71m At Lagos Airport. by justwise(m): 12:53pm On Dec 25, 2012
Some people here are talking a lot of nonsense, the law is the law, prove that the money is made legitimately, its normal thing in all airports, if the money is withdrawn from the bank then show your bank slip/bank statement, exchange bureau? Show them the slip.

The question is..why is he struggling to prove the source of the money? When the Govt failed to do the right thing we complain and when they do we still complain, we can't have it both ways.

Its even idiotic for any right thinking business man to carry such huge amount of money cash to another country, he will still be questioned at the POE to other countries even if he managed to pass through Nigeria airport unchecked.

babapupa: I can't even take this seun guy seriously for any reason.

You not only failed to consult them before your corrupt naija style dabaru, you insulted them and tarnished their reputation with your senseless and unprofessional utterances.

He made a mistake and some people complained and he apologised, he should be given some credit for that, not everybody have the decency to apologise when they got thing wrong.

Roxy4: @Justwise Nope i don't just my personal savings account about 70k available balance but expecting some additional xmas funds from a family friend which will total about 121,000 or there about..
Even if you got 1million naira from a family friend to add to that balance, your chances of getting a visa is very low. This is not just about money but source of it and your tie to Nigeria.

If you don't work, don't have a business that can finance your trip to the UK then you hardly qualify for visiting visa.

If that was the only reason for the refusal and you are sure that you included all that then go for oral appeal.

tkaylove: Justwise tanxs for ur response. No his right to appeal was limited but he wants to review the case.I just want to know if its possible to defend this with him cos it was just sumtin done with a sincere heart. Tnxs
He can apply for review, that is the only channel left since his right to appeal is limited. All he need to do is to explain in details what happened, he is not allowed to submit additional document in support of his case, just the review form then the ECM will have a look at his case.

andrewoluwaseyi: My wife visa was refused on the grounds that me the sponsor didn’t meet the financial requirement, I have two jobs, in between this jobs I earn btw £20000- £26000, I submitted both payslips to indicate to how much I had earned in the last 12 months, as at the time we submitted this application I had earned £20078.77. the refusal reason from the case worker was that there wasn’t any indication that I earn money from my second job, and payslips were submitted and stamped by my part time comnpany

I have gone through emotional torture and don’t wish anyone to go through what me and my wife have go through, I plan to appeal, please advise me further. Thanks
Did you bank statement show payment from both jobs? Did you submit the payslips AND bank statement(s) indicating those payments?
