I am a US citizen, and I recently applied for a spousal settlement visa to move to England to be with my wife, who is a legal EAU citizen.
The ECO has refused my application, stating that we have failed to prove the complete amount of 18,600 for required sponsor's income (we were about 2,000 short in evidence) My wife works several jobs as an independent contractor, making employer statements difficult, but we now believe we have enough evidence to prove the full amount.
It has only been a week since I received this refusal. We are torn between whether to appeal or reapply. Money is not a huge issue, but we'd rather not spend 6 months waiting and worrying. Any advise would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

ochukoccna: Can an unconditional offer of admission be reissued after the deadline to pay the initial deposit lapses?
I got an offer for graduate studies but couldn't act on it by the deadline (15th) as my sponsor said he can only get funds across by next week due to a major project he's undertaking.
I've written to the school but I'm yet to hear from them.

freeway01: @justwise monthly salary is a little above N100k but net salary as at when I applied is N61k due to deductions,contributions e.t.c d balance of d salary acct is ova 300k,personal account over 700k

I just got denied a tourist visa by the UK based on a flimsy excuse regarding my finances despite the fact that I provided 3 bank statements showing regular inflow and outflow including a salary account.I was given an option to appeal but I need advise if I should go ahead with the appeal or re-apply. Please, Is it compulsory as a 23 yr 400level Student of Unilag in Nigeria applying for a family visit to have employment or personal source of income apart from the allowance from parents?? Because i found it very difficult to believe I was refused based on that ground. I provided parents statement,tax clearance,consent letter,(they will be taken care of the travel expense) letter from sch, i.d card, Uncle residential permit,passport page, invitation letter (email conversations n Ms word).

Please assist on what to do!

sarahjane: i don't really know where to start or know if this will even help but i have looked up so many websites and done so many calls this has to be worth a try.
i am an Irish citizen and have happyly been with a Nigerian man for the last two years. we were both living together in Spain (where we meet) but after the summer i had to come back to Ireland because of no work there. soon after that i found out i was pregnant over 20weeks it was a big shocked but me and my boyfriend were also happy thinking it would be easy for him to get here ...weeks has past and i am still alone with a big belly.. i have looked up all the different types of visa and called all the numbers but my head has just gone blank. does anyone know how i can just get him here as soon as possible as i an due our baby in February.
