Who knows if she is the person that offerred him(GEJ) her hand for the handshake? If her religion and belief forbids it, am sure she won't be out there to even serve in that committee afterall some nominated members had pulled out. This is a move to solve the problem of insecurity in the Northern part of Nigeria and the country in whole, so I salute the woman and her husband for giving her the time to work with the committee (some husband who thinks like some NLers here won't allow her) It takes 2 to tangle, if her religion(Pls am not insulting any religion here) and her belief forbids it, she won't strech forth her hand for the handshake. Simple! |
This picture is old. Am sure he was taken this picture when he was studying at the National Open Univ(NOUN). This can also be confirmed by the Logo(NOUN) on the bag held. |
Driving is meant to be "Enjoyed" and not "Endured" so any tech or feature that will make me enjoy my car is great, I always appreciate it. My opinion (Personal not Expert) Will I use it? Yes if I can afford to buy it Trust: if tested, it can be trusted |
Bootylicious: R&B singer Banky W is among the elected distinguished speakers at this year’s edition of the Oxford University Pan Africa. Is Oxford now in London? They are not even in the same County. Any city in UK is London to some people @ Banky W: Congratulations, be a good representative. |
I am happy this guy is making some cool money now. He has been in the entertaiment industry for some years back, from the days of a soap called "The vendor", I used to pity him for his roles then because he doesn't look like someone who is making so much money from acting, then, I can't forget his roles and appearance in the movie "Ole ku" a mainframe movie series I hope this deal brings him a good time to enjoy the money he is making. Congrats Hafiz |
From your story, the car is 4 months old, meaning you haven't been using it for a long time. I will advice you contact who sold the car to you to know the history of the car, that will go a long way in solving the problem if no Auto technician can get what is actually wrong |
A sad part of this story is that this happened just in front of NNPC towers where there are stationary APC and heavy security details harmed to their nails and the attackers driving a VW Golf escaped. Was there no response or intervention from the security attached to NNPC towers when the gun shots were heard or their duty is limited to providing security for the Tower alone? Anyway, Congrats Dino |
Reason: Racism..... Na joke I dey ooo |
I was at the accident scene at about 2pm when the fire was still burning. I can confirm that the numbers of casualities can't be up to 100, but can't be less than 60 people because of the luxirious bus and truck involved. It was so unfortunate that for about 2 to 3 hours the fire lasted, the Fire fighters were not in sight. Even if they make attempt to come, they can't get to the accident scene because both sides of the road was blocked by motorist(driving at the opposite side of the traffic flow), not even sparing the service lane for the emergency service workers to use(very bad driving habit) I had to return to Benin at about half 3 to use Ifon/Akure/Ibadan route to Lagos. As I type now, am sure some people will still be in the traffic grid lock just at a village near Ofosu, Edo state part of the Benin/Ore highway |
It is not uncommon to see Govt Officials driving their personal cars with official Number plate. It is not uncommon to see children of these people using their parents official Number Plate to drive their personal cars, I used to remember a guy in UNILAG who drives around on his car a "MHR" (a National Amssembly ,House of Reps offiical) tagged Number plate. The worse part then was that the Number Plate has expired, it was current within 2003-2007 and up till 2008, he was still using the Number plate that was supposed to have been submitted back to NASS commision by his parent Another case was the kidnapped Wife of Osun Speaker some months ago, she was driving her personal SUV with OSHA number plate as at the time she was kidnapped So OP, I can bet that is a personal car being driven around with official Number plate |
Lord_Reed: Both sad and funny seeing as the Honda was parked. The Benz was not even a staff member's car and the Honda had just been repaired for this same type of accident.Apart from the fact that the Honda car was stationary and thus recieved almost all the resultant force from the moving body(Benz) which is enough to set the other body(Honda) into motion if all conditions were perfect, I see another reason here why the Honda would have crashed like that. Lord_Reed confirmed this same Honda car just got repaired of the same kind of accident, inferior and a poor work during rebuilding of this car may have contributed as well. |
This is the 2nd video am seeing within 1 week about this Civil Defence Corps and I must say am so dissapointed, the commandant and the PRO are meant to be a representative of this organization, and with what i have gotten from them so far, I can be quick to conclude that Civil defence belongs to the c***s "Several internets were designed by fraudsters" is Nairaland an internet? I think they need a re-orientation in that organization by "NL Internet & Tech Section Team" |
Op, sorry to digress from the topic Is this not the same Council of state that granted Alamesighia(I don't know if I get the spelling right), Diya and co a State pardon? So why the utter rubbish that GEJ pardons Alams? I see it is a general decision amongst all State Council members (PDP, CPC, ACN, APGA Governors),previous heads of states and co. The next things I want to see in the news is "Alams appointed as chairman of one committe or board" Same people in different political clothings |
Service in Nigeria house London is not different, it is the only mission house around that you will see long queue with people hanging around due to the poor service of managing their appointments with people. When you apply for a new passport issue or renewal, you have to travel to London 2 times, 1st do the biometric thing, the 2nd time to collect it, then I ask myself, can't the mission partner with Royal Mail or other courier service company to deliver your passport to your door which will cost less than £10 for next day delivery? As at 2011, I had to travel to London from West Midland(about 2hrs costing about £30 on rail) for collection of a passport that about £10 can get to my door. It is just a shame |
For those who know how expensive it is to have access to some of our so called leaders, they will see a big deal in this, remembering the beating a yoruba actor(Ayo Badmus) got from a LG chairman during a Sallah visit to Tunde Kelani's house, just because he wants to relate with the council boss. But for those in the UK, they may not see it as a big deal,David Cameron is a popular guy on the bicycle(some years back, I don't know if he still rides around again). In 2010, just about 3 days to the general poll, I remember sighting him at ASDA Wolverhampton, where he enetered to use the rest room, after which He joined d queue to get his parking ticket refund, no big deal, no special attention, no heavy security attachment If it were to be a Council boss that day, am sure he won't even pay for parking let alone queuing to get his parking charge refund Our so called Leaders needs to start behaving sane |

Note: Oyo is the only town I have seen in yoruba land where they respect their ruler (Alafin). Here is my experience: In 2001, I was in Oyo town, precisely the "Akesan market", just in front of the dead Fire station close to the palace. I was dealing with a market woman, some minutes after, the traditional trumpet "Kakaki" was blown, I think to announce to the public Alafin was leaving the Palace, some seconds after was a long convoy of badh cars and SUVs, my next obeservation was seeing the woman I was buying things from, dropping what she held, went on her kneels, face down, shouting "Kabiyesi oo", even when Kabiyesi won't see her doing so. That was my 1st time in Oyo, it was so strange to me, someone told me that was the old tradition and some still observe it till 2001, am not sure of post 2001 I have lived and visited many Yoruba town, including Ife, I haven't seen such respect being given to their King..... |
Brand_new: Jeremy sabi bad mouth some cars o! Na him call your almight Range rover sports "cow shed" eventhough na Britico car. There was an episode where after praising a BMW 5 series(I don't know the model and spec exactly, i think M5) he condemn the BMW X3 which he expect to be a crossover SUV, Jeremy actually called it a "Village Id1ot" All the same, I love Top Gear. @op, sorry to derail your thread |

anishe: Google remains your best friend ever. Thank youFYI, information needed about Nigeria and Nigerians will be found on sites and forums like this(NL), that is why a topic like(thread) this should be treated well. Go back to google and make the search, it will likely refer U to this thread on NL or some other Nigerian sites and forum. I read a thread this afternoon "interview of some Nler", most of them got to know about NL while making some searches about Nigeria and Nigerians through some search engines. Google is just a search engine,I think the OP is in the right place! @OP: I think it just a way of getting relaxed and a reminder that the weekend is starting |
Most recent Nov 2nd, at about 3pm, along Lagos Ibadan express. I saw a fuel queue at Mobil Ibadan toll gate and due to scarcity of fuel rocking some part of the country, I decided to join the queue to top up my fuel. About 20mins on the queue, I heard that sound like I was watching a Nollywood and d next effect was a hit on my car from d car behind me, then mine hitting the one in front of mine, on getting out to see what happened, a trailer driver lost the braking system of his truck and helped himself by entering the fuel queue to stop his moving truck. About 12 cars were damaged in total(mine inclusive) with both front and back crash effects, trust d truck driver when he has seen his extent of damage, he dissappeared. Before I forget, a young boy hawking was trapped in between the truck and a car, it was a bad experience hawking on the highway should be discouraged... |
Public bus Route:Ibadan to Ife Location: Ife round about Activity: passengers buying Bean cake(Akara), telling the driver to park not minding there are other passengers in the bus, there you will hear words like: "Driver duro, mo fe gba shanjii mi" (Driver wait, I want to collect my change), some of the hawkers will run after vechiles not minding other road users, these hawkers risk their lives so much, highway hacking should be discouraged Route: Ondo state to Abuja via Ibilo Location: Ibilo junction Activity: buying fried yam and plantain, it is so annoying that some passanger will even stain your cloth trying to buy this foods plus eating manners in the bus, at the end of the day, they will litter the vehicle with their rubbish |
