Quick question please. A friend is applying for January intake but still waiting to get his new passport from Nigerian immigration, is it okay to submit the application without the passport number before space fill up for the course? Will he be offered admission without a passport? Or is best to wait until he get his passport before submitting application
Thank you. |

I know this is not the visiting visa thread, but I'm sure a lot of people here are experienced in that area hence why I'm asking this question here.
so, my mum was granted a visit visa (6months) due to expire mid-September, she arrived the UK end of March and will be returning to Nigeria on the 1st of September (before her visa expires) although we stated in her application she will be returning in June.
I have a new born and I'm aslo a student so I need all the help I can get, I want to submit an application for my mum-in-law this week such that she will be here immediately my mum lives to care for the children. However, I'm affraid the Eco will say my mum has not returned yet and I'm submitting another application and possibly deny the visa. Kindly advise. |

wonlasewonimi: It has been discussed gazillion times on this thread...get a sim only contract phone (usually less than £10/pm), get a credit builder credit card for like £150 credit limit to use and pay back in full, get on the electoral roll, sign up to credit reference agencies - free ones are credit karma, clearscore and MSE credit club. They all pull info using the original agencies APIs. Good luck! I'm on a tier 4 visa and trying to get a credit card as it seems necessary to build credit score. I got an offer with capital one offering up to £1,500 with 0% interest for the first 3 months and 34.9% APR. As a newbie I need your advise, does this sound good? If not what other options should I explore. Thanks

Hi everyone, Has anyone traveled from Nigeria to Scotland recently after the quarantine hotel was introduced?
I know Nigeria is not on the red list but Scotland is asking all international arrivals to quarantine in the hotel.
Is true that if one arrives in an English airport have a layover and then proceed to Scotland on what will be a local flight you will be allowed to self isolate at home.
Please I need your inputs on this. Thanks |

I am yet to know why you can’t also say your mum is coming to visit. U dnt need to write 10000 reasons why a mum will want to see her own child. Thanks for your sharing your view. |

LagosismyHome: Do you mean Tier 2 dependent visa
One mistake our people make it thinking we are somehow bounded forever by educational qualification so when they relocate they still keep looking at only areas where their have education back ground regardless of if they have relevant work experience...……. make sure you free yourself from that . You have many transferable skills and shouldn't be bounded by your educational qualification or lack of educational qualification in a particular area …….. I am in IT implementation now both my BSC and Master is in something totally different . Find an area, package the packageable and keep trying to target how to enter...… Learn how to package and most importantly learn whatever that area very WELL so that when the door opens, you deliver well which keeps in you inside that door and leads to more open doors @lagosismyhome please give more details on this 'package the packageable' . Thanks |

Lexusgs430: The main questions to ask yourself are?
- Do I have a job? - Does my wife have a job? - Would our joint income, adequately cater for baby, father, mother, MIL, bills etc, without looking like financial suicide? - The £200 in your mother's account is crayfish money and cannot play any part in the application, not unless you meant £100K........ - You want to feed her account with funds, like trying to force feed a little baby? (automatic visa refusal). - Do you have a rental agreement or mortgage deed(on an accommodation that would not present like overcrowding)? - At the moment are you chopping overdraft or account in minus, on a regular? - You got 6 months bank statements, to track and justify your thick chest?
Questions like this, determines a successful application or failed application......... Thanks @lexusgs430; 1. we both work part time. Although sponsor takes care of all bills 2. yes our Joint income can take care of everyone and everything 3. well since i might be sponsoring i thought her account balance dose not really count 4. we have a rental agreement of a 2 bedroom apartment. i don't think having 3 adults and a child in such will be termed overcrowding. please correct me if i'm wrong. 5. No, no overdraft of any sort. 6. i thought 3 months bank statement will suffice. well we can wait until 6 month if every other thing above adds up. Do you think this adds up? |

your Inputs needed please!
I'm a sponsored postgraduate student currently in the UK with my spouse and a child. My mum just retired and i want her to visit us here to chill a little and also serve as a treat for work well done. I intend to sponsor the trip, meaning the fund for the trip is in my account and she's got about 100k in her personal account. Now my question; 1. is it okay for a student to sponsor such trip? 2. should my spouse who is on a dependent visa sponsor the trip. 3. or should she (my mum) sponsor the trip although the funds will be moved from my account to hers
awaiting your response. many thanks |

TWoods: Each person is responsible for applying for a visit visa and will be interviewed individually. Don’t waste your time sending an invite letter, it is not solicited by the consulate and will play no role in whether any one of your invitees is issued a visa or not. Each person qualifies for a visa on their own merit. I have read severally here that you don't need an invitation letter for your visa application/ interview. However, I will like to mention that when we (my family and I) went for our interview in June, the first document we asked for was a proof of what we are going for in the US (Invitation letter in our case since we were going on a visit). so I strongly advise you go with one. is better you had it than regret why you did not come with one if asked. |

Hi guys, I need your thoughts on this. A friend and her family got a visit visa last August stating Orlando as there point of Entry. Due to some reasons they couldn't travel last year as stated in their application. Now they want to travel for the first time using that visa but this time they want to go to New York. My question is is it okay they fly straight to NYC direct from Naija or then need to go to Orlando first before heading for NYC since Orlando was their initially stated city of visit.
Thanks |

Cyberknight: 1. No. of entries is 2.
2. Fill in the planned end date for both trips using a slash.
3. Yes, you can receive a one year multiple entry or visa.
Note: The Schengen multiple entry visa is supposed to be issued to frequent travelers for the same purpose (i.e. for instance business travellers who have to visit frequently for business purposes, etc). I don't think you can request one for both business and tourism, but I can't say for certain that you can't. When I requested one it was for frequent conference attendance in Europe (i.e. same purpose of travel).
Also note that Denmark is very strict with visas.
b) The gap between your two planned entries is kind of wide, and I doubt they will issue it to you since you are returning back home to Nigeria for 4 months, which is a period long enough to enable you to apply for another visa to France for tourism.
c) If you've not travelled to the Schengen zone frequently in the last 3 years, they will most likely issue you a single-entry.
d) As usual with a green passport holder, your documentary burden is high - you have to supply as much paperwork as possible - buy insurance for both trips, and make detailed travel reservations for the France trip as well. If you've not been to Denmark before, you will most likely get only a single entry. Thank you so much for your thought on this. I submitted my application today alongside required documents. I also applied for single entry. fingers crossed for their decision |

Quick one guys.
I want to attend training in Denmark this August and also planning a family vacation in December to France. In my visa application,
1. Do I fill Two for number entries?
2. the part that says the date of departure from Schengen area, do I fill the August or the December day
3. will a single visa be valid from August till the end of December?
your kind inputs, please. thank you |

I mentioned we got our visa approved (family of 3) we flew British Airways from England to Orlando ( long but nice flight, too many chops) Landed in Orlando and was on the queue for the border checks for 2hrs 15mins (At this time I was almost giving up on visiting America again as i was with a toddler that is super tired from a delayed 9hrs 30mins flight. Got to the border officer after the long wait, was asked how many days we will be spending and if we came with food items which we said no. we got stamped in for 6months, we spent 10days in America and back to base now. I miss the space in America, Britain is so squashed Did I mentioned Orlando was fun, Walt Disney world was it for my toddler but holy land was the icing on the cake for me. |
