jln115: I was talking about the last 9 years as bidixiii stated.
Not the one in May 2009
Regardless out of the 3 crashes and 2 hard landings only one was adjudged to be pilot error......4 out 5 due to mechanical error....says alot!!! SAAF A-109 crashes are mainly a result of pilot error. Three pilot-error CFIT crashes during low-level tactical flight operations or training. Two mechanical failures in 2010 (later corrected) causing hard landings: A swash plate control rod break & a tail rotor failure. The cause of the April 2019 crash has not yet been released. |

The three A109 Light Utility Helicopter crashes were caused by mechanical failure and pilot error, but all technical problems have been resolved, the chief of the South African Air Force has said.
Lieutenant General Carlo Gagiano was speaking to journalists at the Air Force Day parade held at Swartkop on Friday. “All problems have been identified and rectified,” Gagiano said, adding that Air Force technicians went through all the A109’s systems and checked all parts to isolate the problems. Since entering service around five years ago, the A109 fleet has been subject to several engineering changes.

Toju200: its not car but an Aircraft. It can be Overhauled. And it will be back to flight.Ok tell me what will now be D fate of the platform if it can't be overhauled When literally there's no extensive damage on the cockpit area... Can you see the fire that has affected the rotor system at all? |

Upon all the images and videos showing the Nigerian military carrying out counter terrorist operations in Northern Borno, @Samuelanyawu would come here and tell us it is the military of Chad that is carrying out 90% of all operations in Northern Borno.
People just lie for no reason.

nemesis8u: Regarding the rivet issue i had written on it but deleted it since i felt its best to let the issue die down first so that people don't confuse all the wrong comments with my reply
So the biggest error u all guys made is by wrongly identity the joins
In the Ezugwu mrap picture if u notice carefully u will realise it is not rivet joint which all u guys claimed to be and based ur arguments on it, thereby nullifying all ur arguments
The joint in the mrap is bolt joint which is different from rivet joint
Body panels held by bolt joint can be removed easily when desired
But body panels held by rivet joint cannot be removed easily , it needs lot of effort and depending on the type of rivet joint be used will damage the body panel when the panel is being removed.
So coming to point
Bolt joints r used in prototype vehicles so that removal or replacement of body panels is easy since the vehicle and its parts r still in r & d phase which might require constant removal and installation due to design changes or due to constant testing.
When the vehicle is cleared for production and the production standard vehicle rolls out u will see that most of the bolt joints ( it is possible some bolt joints r retained ) have been replaced with either rivet joints or weld joints.
Also somebody said something about if a crew getting hurt due to rivets after being hit by a shell.
That happens but it is not exclusive to rivets , pieces of metal torn off from the body itself or pieces of equipments or their parts might fly off and hit the crew if hit specifically by HESH ( high explosive squash head ) shell usually fired from rifled guns only. Rifle guns r rare only challenger and Arjun uses rifled guns.
So tanks and vehicles ( if fitted with ) have what is known as a spall liner as the final layer covering the interior of the vehicle . It stops metals, rivets etc flying off from the body on the interior side on being hit by a shell.
Other pieces from equipments or their parts may may still fly off but special care is taken to ensure that they don't . it depends on luck actually.
So it should be clear now The Ezugwu MRAP APC still has a long way to go. It is not ready for full production yet, my opinion. |

Lurker4Long: Some fellow here tried to argue this wasn't the issue. I think it was in reference to the Reva APC? I'm interested what the argument will be with regards to this. The Reva MRAP was bought brand new, these tanks are 2nd hand tanks. You cannot possibly think they are the same. |

Tobiloba2407: if a big explosion goes off, around this vehicle and the troops are dismounted, the troops are going to hate themselves, the shock wave, would send those nuts flying like bullets, they didnt stick with proforce i wonder, well if they do the right thing, i wonder where they would steal billions from. Sir, have you seen some of the ballistic test videos of these vehicles? There was a video Oga Henry240 shared a couple months back, the ballistic level of the vehicle is high. Soldiers stood 10 meters away and shot AK-47 gun at the vehicle and it did not penetrate. If you are standing beside a vehicle and it blows up by a bomb, you're dead. This is the fact with all vehicles. I think those nuts are used to hold the ballistic plates on the vehicles down. I saw it with Proforce too. Not everything is about stealing. The Reva we bought from South-Africa did not last. The CS/VP3 did not go round. The army bought 30 units of Proforce ARA MK2. I don't see the issue here. |

Foreign Affairs › Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by kabe1: 1:14pm On Nov 13, 2019 |
SuperSixSeven: Nigeria has a perfect MRAP designed and produced by ProForce that meets international quality standards and could be displayed with pride at any Defence Expo in Europe and the Middle East. But our incompetent army leadership thinks they can design something better and even thinking the can produce vehicles in their faculties. No army in the world does that. The result is substandard of course and therefore a thread to the lifes of our brave soldiers at the front-line.
What the army focus on: * Maintenance, Repair and 0verhaul * Reseaech and Development Production should always be done by the private sector. But this was built by DICON, not the Nigerian army. I have been asking, has anyone seen the test results and could you please share it? |

Tobiloba2407: this ezugwu is a joke of a contraption.....a deathtrap.....you see those rivets, or abi bolts on the body, those are potential shrapnels.....why didn't we just stick with proforce and use this contraption, in our training schools. Bros no vex, how did you come to this conclusion? Have you seen the vehicle's test results? You seem so sure, abeg if you don see am post so that we go fit see am too? Thanks |
