Religion / Re: Praying For The Dead by Kambinachi(f): 1:32am On Nov 18, 2012
chukwudi44: Prayers for the dead are mentioned in 2 macabees 12:38-45 and I John 5:16-17.But you have to have the bible with the completely canonised books to see the books of macabees.
this is 1 John 5: 16-17:

16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.

i don't see it saying anywhere to pray for the dead

CHIMSKY: Why all this long talk?Truth is:Sex Sells!

really? so let me get this straight:

Women = Sex, but Men =/= Sex, yet the alleged Sex is between Women AND Men?

yea, your logic makes perfect sense undecided

this sort of chauvinistic, objectified view of women has to stop. it's ridiculous, in the very least.
NYSC / Re: Why Do Females Get Job Faster Than The Males After NYSC? by Kambinachi(f): 1:29pm On Jul 09, 2012
pro01:

These big words are all euphemisms for "sex", right? So I guess we're all on the same page, regardless of semantics or choice of words. More qualified my bottom.
this is precisely what is wrong. that people are not able to differentiate those as independent qualities of their own.

or maybe you just need a dictionary?

i struggle with believing some people still think women are incapable of securing jobs on their own merit. in this 21st century undecided
NYSC / Re: Why Do Females Get Job Faster Than The Males After NYSC? by Kambinachi(f): 6:26am On Jul 09, 2012
i find it quite offensive that the general consensus is females get jobs more readily than males because they are willing to offer 'sex'. not because they are more flexible, more amiable, more congenial or even more qualified. no, it's because they can offer this supposed 'sex', and organisations have honed in on this to attract good business.
Fashion / Re: Does Keeping A Low Cut Really Speak About Your Decency As An Employee? by Kambinachi(f): 10:43am On Jun 01, 2012
i'm not a guy... but i've never really subscribed to anyone/society/organisations telling people what their appearance ought to be for it to be acceptable. yes, keep you hair neat and tidy, but it really doesn't have to be kept low simply because everyone else tells you to keep it low. if you keep your hair tidy, and the rest of your appearance tidy, i am sure organisations would be more concerned about the value you are adding to them as a corporation than the measurement of your hair length

as a female with natural hair, i get the least love from my fellow africans who make comments like "why not do something with your hair" or some comments like that... and i feel really bad when i hear women say they have "emergency wig" to wear to work between hairstyles, because their natural hair is "unprofessional"... i think that's really a pathetic state of affairs when you think long flowing hair is more professional than your natural curls, just because society feeds you with that.

anyway, coming back to guys... i miss the days when guys used to comfortably rock afros. now i see guys with growth of like 1cm or less, and people are wondering if they don't have a barber in town

Business / Total Newbie To Forex Trading by Kambinachi(f): 6:30am On May 08, 2012
Hello smart folks... you guys don't know how smart I think you all are right now... lol. Reason? Well, I am thinking of getting into the forex market, and I have absolutely no experience in it.

I notice there are some threads here with like Season 1, Season 2.... Season 6 threads... some with up to like 50pages shocked

I don't even want to embarrass myself by saying I don't even know what Seasons are, so I wont say so (lol)... but no, seriously, I don't . But anyway, I digress.

I had a read through the threads and everyone seems like such an expert. I would definitely appreciate some help and guidelines as to where to start, what I can do, etc.

I was reading through Season 5 and I read about babypips. It seems like a good site, and I intend to have a read through.

But I would also like some guidance from you experienced folks on how to start for someone who is LITERALLY starting from scratch.
Thank you =)

~Bluetooth:

if you cant afford to buy one, that is your cup of garri. You are restricted because you want to.How will your friend know that there a bluetooth application called ''celeste'' if he keeps giving his iphone to paupers like you ?
i will voltron for apple products any day. but i will also call a spade a spade. apple has many restrictions and it seems like they didn't think of a whole plethora of circumstances when designing the phone. if the phone was good, it should be sufficient by itself to do what other phones do without the assistance of a foreign application

PS: people are entitled to their opinions. pro01 is entitled to his, just as you are. there should be mutual recognition of this, and you should not have to refer to him as a pauper just because his ideas differ from yours. let us try and separate tangibles from intangibles in life.
Phones / Re: How Stupid Is The Iphone by Kambinachi(f): 11:19am On Dec 09, 2011
it seems the problem is you are using more than one computer to sync your items. in that regard, apple products are quite specific. not the smartest of decisions, but you will need to find one computer to use for your phone/apple products and stick with it.

Romance / Re: Ever Had A Crush On Someone In Your Workplace? by Kambinachi(f): 7:57am On Oct 30, 2011
well, iv never had a crush on someone at my workplace so i'll probably not be able to speak on that, though i suspect it would be a really sticky situation to find one's self in. Cos if you act on it, and u both start dating, nosy co-workers won't let you be, and if you do start dating and it doesn't work out, then it sucks mega that you'll still have to see him every day after that - ouch!! undecided
Literature / Re: Would You Buy A Book Written In Pidgin English? by Kambinachi(f): 11:35am On Oct 26, 2011
i don't know about an entire novel written in pidgin, but i remember back then, those Papa Ajasco comic books were written in pure pidgin and people didn't seem to have a problem with them

ps: the sierra leoneans have the whole Bible in their local language which is Creole (aka pidgin), and dem dey flow like water if dem dey read am, so i guess a novel in pidgin could work
Culture / Re: which nigerian tribe respect elders more(with poll) by Kambinachi(f): 8:49am On Oct 22, 2011
that said, my personal opinion as an Igbo who has lived amongst igbos and yorubas is that Yorubas are farrrrr more respectful than Igbos. Igbos are way to rude and are always trying to prove a goodness-knows-what point. they are original ishi-ikes (strong head) undecided
Culture / Re: which nigerian tribe respect elders more(with poll) by Kambinachi(f): 8:47am On Oct 22, 2011
i don't think this is a fair poll, not because i have anything against the leading tribe on the poll, but simply because  i don't think most people are in a position to compare and draw a valid conclusion.

i think many of the tribes mentioned there have few to no votes not because they are the least respectful, but because ppl have never met anyone from that tribe, or even if they have, the number they have met have not been enough of a representative sample of that tribe for them to accurately determine their level of respectfulness.

ofcourse most votes on this board would go to either the yorubas or the igbos because that is the majority of the tribes people on this board have interacted with.

bottomline: to get a valid result to this vote, you would have been better off narrowing the poll down to those two tribes. it should have been titled something along the lines of: "Who is more respectful between the Yorubas and Igbos?"

Romance / Re: Once A Nigerian Babe Agrees To Visit You And Cook For You by Kambinachi(f): 10:35am On Oct 18, 2011
Orikinla:

Once a Nigerian babe agrees to visit you and cook for you, then she can be won. Among well bred Nigerian girls and ladies, it takes time to convince them to visit you and cook for you. Because visiting a man in our culture means you are giving him the chance for a serious relationship and when you agree to cook for him, you have shown that you can even marry him. After meeting and seeing her for sometime, you can ask her, "When are you coming to cook for me?". in our culture, it is only when you are committed in a relationship or ready for courtship  that a maiden can cook for her man. And during this time, the man learns a lot about her, to marry her or not.
lol,  please what planet do you live, and what century are you guys up to now?
Family / Re: My Mother, My Wife: Who Comes First? by Kambinachi(f): 11:00am On Oct 16, 2011
@OP,

It shouldn't be a question of either/or. there are no absolutes in this.

Both of them should have a special place in your heart, but each of them needs to know their place - know where their boundary ends and respect where the other's boundary starts. if the wife and mother have this under lock, then the love you have for your mother would come first as a mother and the love you have for your wife would come first as a wife.

, hope that makes sense
Celebrities / Re: Please Tell Me Where Alek Wek's Beauty Lies by Kambinachi(f): 1:52am On Oct 16, 2011
alek wek is a model.

what people don't realise is that model's aren't meant to be pretty.

they are meant to have striking features and bone structure which can be worked with artistically.
