Health / Re: Onitsha Ranked As The Most Polluted City In The World By WHO by Karanka: 11:44am On May 13, 2016
I see a lot of folks here don't understand what the post is talking about. Being the most polluted city in the world doesn't generally denote dirtiness; rather,it is based on the particulate matters generated from the city which is in the air. These particulate matters come from sources like soots from vehicles, industries, construction activities,wood-burning etc - generally, industrialization. It's almost a problem with fast growing cities where a lot of industrial activities go on. Countries like China,Saudi Arabia etc have been battling with this for long. Air pollution poses health risks, which can in turn affect the economy of a place. The Nigerian cities affected should simply enact effective policies to mitigate against this, even as they continue with their industrial boom.

Religion / Re: 5 Clear Proofs That God Exists: To The Atheists by Karanka: 12:23pm On May 12, 2016
SirWere:

Not all atheists argue with Science. And why should we not?? Science, from what we know, is the only thing capable of seperating facts from falsehood; it is one of the main instruments of reason we have.

You say Science STARTED with theist. I say you're wrong. No doubt, very many theists contributed to it; even helped it grow. But tracking the lives of those theists, one can see that they took faith and reason seperately and they were noticeably less religious than their counterparts. Like Immanuel Kant said

"I limit my reason so I may have faith" or something like that smiley
Broda, can we look at all these from another angle? What seems to be the main grouse of Atheists with the belief in God is the origin of God,right? i.e,how he came into existence. Ok. Scientists believe that the complexities of man and other things in the world - the laws, principles and seemingly orderliness - came about randomly,i suppose? Just for a second, what if God came about by 'chance' just like we humans and other fundamental things on earth, but due to the matter that existed prior to his origin, was 'made' in such a way that he has the supernatural abilities and characteristics that people attribute to him,in such a way that he is able to maintain the universe and the laws and principles therein? Remember that Science as we know it today,is practically at it's infancy; scientifically, the world is still a baby in relation to the things yet unknown. There could or could have been some form of basic matter out there somewhere that could bestow upon one these characteristics people attribute to God. If Scientists suspect there could be other live forms out there apart from on the earth, how did they come to be? I hope i made a bit of sense; or i could just be stretching my imaginations a little too far. Pls comment on this.

, I wonder why none of them is claiming zungeru or Calabar which are the first capital cities in Nigeria, why Lagos , Yorubaland? Why not Abuja the present FCT?

Well, we will teach your kids Yoruba in our schools, when we finally have The Great Odua nation, our official Language will be YORUBA, so start teaching kids Yoruba cultural
From your post, one can easily deduce you're not up to 20yrs. It would be very shameful if you're up to 20yrs and you're spewing this kind of thrash. What kind of information do they feed you guys with? Go to Enohia in Afikpo Ebonyi state and you'll see a huge community of Hausa/Fulani and Yoruba living there for decades, yet you don't see the indigenes there carrying placards and whining online that they want to claim their land. And this is not just peculiar to Ebonyi state; it's obtained almost everywhere in SE. You don't see Igbos hyperventilating and issuing threats everywhere over that. I don't know how many times i'll have to say this to folks like you,or must your heads be literally opened and the right info downloaded? Igbos don't and never claim Lagos. Lagos is like a melting point for all Nigerians given her status, location etc. When people say Lagos is a no-man's land, what they mean is just what i explained above. Read the right books, listen to the right people, travel and mingle with people; that way, you'll learn more.

You see, most Nigerians never learn. History keeps on repeating itself and yet, people refuse to learn. When Linda Ikeji and Whizkid had their issues recently, and Whizkid went all out to use rotten crude words on Linda,a lot of Naija Gals cheered him on,forgetting that Linda was infact speaking up for every female in the country and that Whizkid was setting a precedence that it's actually okay to physically and verbally abuse and denigrate women. Now Tbillz has taken it a step further by coming out publicly to ridicule his own wife... His own wife, for goodness sake! Nigerians shouldn't be surprised if more of this is repeated. I only pity Naija females who will invariably bear the brunt.

Chinese are not stupid... There's no way there's no an ulterior motive in this deal. When Nigeria starts becoming a dumping ground for China products to the detriment of made-in-Naija goods, remember this deal. When you start noticing increased number of Chinese expatriates at the detriment of our local hands, remember this deal. When one dollar equals about 500 naira as the naira plays second fiddle to the Yuan and they start telling you it's ok,after all Nigeria does more business with China than the Us,don't forget this deal.

I see a lot of folks are disappointed at the outcome of this whole thing. But truth be told, what did you expect? That maybe Linda would be the one apologizing when Whizkid was actually the person who would have been the fall guy... After threatening to harm somebody in this age and time? There's a reason other celebrities who have crossed paths with Linda in the past simply let the matter rest without going all vulgar and threatening violence like Whizkid (in his immaturity) did. The only way Whizkid would have reacted reasonably would have been to sue Linda for Libel or defamation or something... But Whizkid chose to go the toutish path. He had a lot to lose. Those endorsements, some of his reasonable fans.... He would have lost quite a bit. His team simply had to reach out to Linda. As for all those Naija Gals hailing Whizkid, just wait,it will get to your turn when you'll be abused and debased... Then you'll come online and start whining.

2. There is already a post shown here by Femi kuti calling her out for publishing a LIE about him.

Glo never dumped psquare. Neither did glo ever mention anything about a problem with the brothers arguments. Basically ur whole post is a lie. U must be living in an alternate reality.
If Linda has ever defamed someone via her publications, there are saner more honourable means to call her to order instead of embarrassing one's self and family members in the name of bashing her. Look at Wizkid now... No way someone would think of his family background without cringing in disgust. How could a celebrity ever allow such rotten words come out of his mouth publicly. I just pity all Nigerian ladies supporting Wizkid - he has indirectly told people that it is ok to insult, threaten and generally debase women. When you see increased number of women suffering abuses of all kinds, then remember the part you played.

I think these guys aren't doing well for the marketing of their products. For fuc.ks sake you don't need to put the biafra flag or colours on it. These products are very much welcomed buh when they are branded, it pits them against the government. They wouldn't get a fair reception outside the east. Even within the east, their distribution and usage would be hamstrung.
Think of it, no government owned school would allow their pupils use such pencils. Next thing now, government clamps down on the manufacturers and everyone would cry blue murder.
Innnoson is thriving well in a hostile environment because he thinks outside the box. His cars are gaining national acceptance cos he gave them a nationalistic feel and not a regional feel. If he branded them as biafran, they wouldn't even get out of the assembly plant.
We need to think business wise.
You have a point there; but those guys who make the made-in-Biafra products have a point as well. They're not trying to give the products "nationalistic feel",they want it to be regional. They're die-hard Biafra proponents who wish to keep the dream of Biafra alive.

Sir seriki is not the same as Emir, find out from pple close to you.

now, from your assertion upther, you said Eze should subject themselve to the king.

but me and you know reverse is the case, some eze ndiigbo, even instigate their fellow igbo men against the king, just like we witness in Akure few month.

Eze ndiigbo equating themselve with the traditional ruler of their host community is what is causing all this hullabaloo.

igbo need to respect their host community tradition.

with that am sure, there will not be any problem, and we will all live in peace.

Thank you
Where in my post did I say Seriki means the same thing as Emir?
What do you mean by "igbo need to respect their host community tradition"?
Have you ever seen Igbos disrespect their hosts?
What happened in the case of Deji of Akure and Eze ndiigbo in Akure was still a matter of inferiority complex on the part of the Deji. The Eze ndiigbo never disrespected him.
The Deji simply wanted to flex muscles knowing fully that he was in his own land and can practically do whatever he felt like, forgetting that their are Yorubas who live and work freely and have their leaders in Igboland without anybody bothering them. He just probably destroyed the relationship of Igbos and Yorubas in Akure and further strained Igbo/Yoruba relationship generally.
You see,Igbos are not fools. They're watching and observing. Two can play this game. If you can't live and let live, then the problem is yours.
Ps: the Fulanis/Hausas hold their whatever huge traditional ceremony in the southeast, where they wield knives and machetes and display all kind of stunts, yet you'll never hear Igbos complaining about this. If it were to be the Igbos doing that in Yorubaland, you'll hear some Yorubas screaming and protesting that the Igbos are disrespecting them in their own land.
What a pity!

Sir, base on your write up, can u have two driver, driving a bus at the same time.
two captain inside a ship.

you mention that the northerner have seriki everywhere in the east, good.

how will you feel, if those seriki are converted to emir, and equate will your kind.

for me, am not against igbo having representatives in any community they find themselves, it a welcome idea, but that representative cannot be an eze ndigbo, equating to the king of that land, either the oba or emir in that land. hereby giving directive same as the original king of that land. it is a no no

You see,the Eze ndiigbo in where ever apart from Igboland does not equate himself to the paramount ruler of that place. Even the Eze ndiigbo himself is subject to the paramount ruler of that place. He is only a leader of his own tribesmen in that particular place.
It makes for easier organization and peaceful co-existence of the people living there with their host community.
What does Seriki (hope I got the spelling right)mean? Is it not same as king which is same as Eze in Igbo language?
It doesn't really matter if they call themselves Eze,leader, ruler, director or even Oba of ndiigbo so long as they know their boundary and remain subject to the paramount traditional ruler of the land.
Heck, even Buhari was even given a royal title in Igbo land during the last election campaign and nobody has called for his head.
Yorubas should quit acting like sissies - it doesn't look good on them.

You don't know what you're talking about. You need to travel more and learn what is happening else where apart from your village. Who told you Yorubas and Hausas don't have titles or hold traditional offices in South east?
The Hausa/Fulani communities in the South east have their traditional leaders. Same with Yorubas.
Nobody bothers them.
Igbos don't have time to be bickering over what you choose to call yourself so long as you maintain law and order and don't interfere in another man's right.
What I see happening here is unnecessary inferiority complex and greed on the part of the Yorubas. They're simply scared that the Eze ndiigbo might become more influential than them,so they are attempting to nip it in the bud on time.
Go to Enohia in Afikpo,Ebonyi state and you'll see a huge community of majorly Hausas and some Yorubas who have been living there for decades. They have their traditional leaders, they practice their Religion, yet you don't see Igbos carrying placards protesting and whining like little bitc*hes over that.
