abduleez1: Omo just two cast and director don collect $50mn dollars. It's obvious the cast will collect most of the production money but this $150mn tag seems excessive for a Joker sequel. Should have been around $100mn. This new budget makes it even harder to profit.
Hardly see it replicating 2019's magic. Highest gross o see for now is around ,$700mn of it really performs. But Well..... It did overperformed and surprised most people then. It amazes me how people help corporate bodies spend their money. They also do this in football thread and it's irks me. Haven't you for once put yourself in the shoes of these actors and actresses? The producers are spending out of abundance here o. Excess abundance. |

Women football is easier. If you can get a group of women footballer that understands themselves, they will dominate for a long time. Men football is actually very hard. Harder than you think.
Have you ever wondered why Ronaldo and Messi don't have a world cup till today?
US women won World Cup but they were defeated by under 15 Dallas boys, 5 - 2.

I saw someone quoting 1k5 for snail. Snail? Snail that people pick in their farm? No one will buy snail close to that amount in Port Harcourt or anywhere that is not Lagos. Prawn and shrimps? Periwinkles? C'mon! I'm not denying that 5k might not be enough because things are expensive now but 20k is too much for that, except you are buying in Lagos o. |

If I had to choose between a boy or girl child, I'm definitely choosing a girl child everytime. Girls are easy to control, just do your duties as a parent morally, financially etc. The worst a woman can become is a prostitute. The worst a boy can become is a thief, kidnapper or ritualist. We all know the lesser of the these evils. In terms of getting spoilt, we are all spoilt one way or the other, so I expect them to get spoilt a bit. |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Working In An Indian Company In Lagos Is Weird!! by Karleb(m): 2:21pm On Aug 11, 2022 |
grandstar: It should surprise no one. Businesses import the work culture in their home countries to their present abode.
In India, sweatshops are very common. A sweatshop is a workshop or a factory where you work long hours, with little or no benefits, under intimidation and also dangerous.
In India, you have kids as young as 4 working in these sweatshops. If they can do that to their own people, what do you think they'll do in yours? The only way you can make them behave properly is to have strong institutions that will protect the rights of workers.
Contrast the Indians with the Germans. German companies in Nigeria treat their staff well because that is what happens in Germany.
There was a time when a German firm wanted to upgrade the financial package of their Nigerian staff. This was put on hold as the Nigerian directors felt that staff were already earning generously and an improvement wasn't necessary.
The directors may be right or may be wrong, depending on the prevailing salary at the time. We shouldn't jump to conclusion it was a bad thing. What if a messenger was earning 140k monthly? What the director did was wrong. It's not even the first time I'm hearing our own people telling foreigners we can work for less than half of the intended pay. See, when a company grows, the take home also grows. Take for instance, the salary at Dangote groups is not the same like it was 10 years ago. So if a business owner decides to increase pay because his company is doing well, a director has every right to STFU. |

ravensckar: Although I don't know the OP's intent for posting this, but I can relate with his story. Things tight for outside o. And the bad news is that it's going to get tighter in Nigeria unless a miracle happens.
The guy that some of you are attacking is actually not the bad guy, he's saying the gospel truth. Perhaps his mode of communicating it is what irked some of you. Things are hard, you have a choice; either change your situation by taking a different approach or continue to lament.
From the OP's post, one can deduce that he's a teacher. That's why I'll share my story with him. When my wife was pregnant with our first child, things were so hard for us that we always borrow to meet up. My daughter started drinking garri at 4 months old. I looked at them one day and I asked myself what kind of useless work have I been doing that can't even put decent meals on the table. Then, a radical thought came to me. And I took the bold step. Fast forward to about 5 years later (today), we are doing very well. Food dey yanfun yanfun, small money wey dey scare poverty self dey. . That my daughter that started drinking garri at 4 months has never tasted garri again. Today, she be real 'ajebo' and I made sure to buy her everything a child of her age can have; tablet, bicycles, dolls, clothes, shoes and everything. You name it. My wife nko? She self na big madam now. Her beauty don come out well well.
Till this very moment, that day's incident is the reason why I work twice as hard as I normally would. I made myself a promise that as long as I'm alive, my family will never starve nor lack. Today for example, I trekked from Abraham Adesanya to VGC (due to serious traffic), before getting a bus to my destination. That's some of the sh*ts we go through, but we still do it because we have a responsibility to fulfill.
What am I trying to insinuate? We may choose to lament over our situation (self-pity) or we turn our pain into motivation and change our situation for good. Here's a poem by D.H Lawrence, it's one of my favourite as it always remind me to turn my pain into motivation; “I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself. A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bough without ever having felt sorry for itself....". I know this post ended with your success story but in all honesty, I feel like hitting your head with a baton for feeding garri to a 4 months old baby. |

Being fine is not enough.
It's the reason why you see some fine ladies are with broke ugly guys that still treat them like thrash.
Besides, most of ladies that will be attracted will not be up to your standard. Would you rather have 5 ugly women vs 1 good looking one? It's a battle of quality over quantity.
Some women also deliberately make it harder for fine guys, just like the lady above , some would brag they don't even date them.
Some of these women want commitment, an ugly fellow would easily commit to a beautiful woman compared to a fine boy who knows he has options. |

Stallionhorse: Why would she pay you complete did you work for a full month?? And truth be told told you should have left that work on the first day she asked you to mop but since you didn't then don't complain.. Yes your resumption time is 7am that doesn't mean you should get to work 7am it means the shop should be opened 7am.. Banks resume 8am but the staffs resume an hour or more earlier.. Have you asked yourself if you where competent in your duties?? Maybe thats what warranted her talking to you rudely and the insults, finally never insult your employers or talk back to them rudely.. If you think its easy to own a business and employ someone try it yourself.. What did I just read? So he should resume 6 am? Besides you are comparing Apple and oranges here. Bank staff are not payed 15k. They don't clean their office space. The go on leave and are entitled to benefits. Please change your mindset. |
