Nice one Tensa,
One thing I learned is to always walk a path less threaded. It always pays off.

I left Naija early this year and keep blessing God every second for the opportunity and experience.

See you at the top man.
Big man, where is this your less threaded path?

The thing with Spanish speakers is that when they see you speaking and they notice it's not your first language they are very forgiving and they tend to use simpler phrases and speak much slower and repeat phrases if need be to get the message across to you. It wasn't that bad. I will say one year is okay.
Did you take your flight from Nigeria?

Considering how expensive flight is in Nigeria, is it advisable to go from say, Ghana? Is it even possible?

I'm guessing you are doing Computer Science?

If yes, did you have any challenge gaining admission to study it since you didn't do computer science in your bsc?

I will rate the language school like 4 on 10. I went to lextorah. It's popular in Lagos. You will need to do more work on your own. I started watching Chilean tv shows. I started reading Spanish books. I also did Duolingo everyday. The only thing I didn't do was speaking cause no one to speak Spanish to in naija but I am speaking here and I understand what people say.
And this people collect a lot for the certificate from what I heard. Imagine.

Was it important to them that your oral Spanish wasn't too fluent during the interview?

Also, how long did it take you to learn the language? What advice would you give on how to learn the language?

tensazangetsu20:
It was important o. They will ask for proof of Spanish proficiency. In Chile absolutely no one speaks English and I mean it. Without Spanish you will be stranded. Brazil asks for celpe bras
Where did you get your certification?

Besides, was the language school good abi they were just collecting more money to dish out certificates?

I was in Brazil yesterday and Brazil is a very amazing country. Studying in Brazil is completely free and there's a Brazilian university in the top 100 in the world the university of Sao Paulo. If you are in tech, Brazil is a major tech hub. All major large tech firms from Google down to Salesforce have a large engineering presence in Brazil. South america is also very easy to get papers after studies compared to Europe except Finland before they changed it sha.
Imagine.

I want to ask, how important was the certification from the language school concerning your travel?
Travel › Re: Memoirs From Chile by Karleb(m): 2:29am On Aug 03, 2023
Congratulations brotherly! This is nice. Omo, see country! 😍

Na to start to dey practice wetin you learn from duo lingo remain.

It's too sad that nobody writes about South America here and nobody cares, I don't know if it's the language barrier or something else.

For instance, people don't know studying in Brazil is free from kg to PhD, free Healthcare and free feeding cheesy, and they also started an exchange program that offers scholarship literally giving you stipends to study there.

Everyone just wan go UK and Europe with their N2m.

.

Are you saying you don't have any secret in your life, something you did bad secretly and cannot let people know?

Are you actually Saint?
You fvck up and you behave immaturely, if you are maturely and leaned person in this our country of nowadays you will hardly judge people.

Things are happened in this life and people experience awful thing in life just to survive.

I don't know your age, but I guess you are still inexperienced in life.

People are going through difficulties in life and have no one or any means to survive, that's why our young guy & men indudge in lots criminal activities.

They are even some that do crime just to survive life as a last resort, I don't support them though.

Think of population of Nigeria men to women, they are far more than us and little work or opportunity to survive, most of them survive through men, boyfriend & girlfriend, sugar daddy, they have little work for them to do and survive.

Despite plenty job type available for Nigeria men, like IT, Telecom, transport, agriculture, mechanic, construction, electric, plumbing, civil works and many more, they are still the one engaged in drug business, Yahoo, 419, ritual, arm robbery, kidnapper and many more...

Some engaged in these illegallity as a last resort to survive life, while some do it as a result of wickedness.

If Nigeria men can be doing all this crime even with plenty options of various work available solely for men.

How many legal job available for our women to survive? Even though their populations is almost twice as men, they can't do arm robbery, Yahoo, 419, ritualist, bunkery etc, the worst they can do is to sleep with men for Money, which can not be compare to crime men commit to survive life.

The difference is monitize what they already do for free with their boyfriends.

Shit happens in this life and stop judging anyhow, that's why she was cursing you
I can't believe what I'm reading. embarassed embarassed

So the only solution to all your problems is to put a price on your body?

E ma ri igi fi se o.

pansophist:
I can understand why you're shocked. If you're used to the Nigerian system, it's difficult to comprehend that some places are actually better.

Yes, it's free. I'm a beneficiary. I studied for free for my bachelor degrees in Finland, and I went for an exchange program abroad where the school (the government actually) paid me 500 euros every month for my monthly upkeep.

All these freebies and I was not a citizen/European. EU/Finnish citizens even had more privileges than us, but as a Nigerian, I can't complain.

Now is it free? Well, I'll say it's paid for by tax, so technically it's not free. But I was a student, and other taxpayers paid for my studies. But purely from a tuition fee perspective, yes, it's free.

And you'll be living in the one of the wealthiest society on earth, that makes asokoro in Abuja looks like slum. Imagine up till now, I've never seen an electric wires/poles, everything is underground.

Where dogs are friendly, and not used as security guard. A place where dogs behave so civilised, they actually cross the road when the lights are green.

A place where Nigerian definition of success is a norm there. So expect an 18 year old boy/girl coming to clas in a 2020 Jeep, lives alone in a modern flat, and that's the culture.

You call professors by their name, not the sir/ma, you guys call your teachers in Nigeria. A place where you challenge your professor in class, and if you're right, he will appreciate your correct and apologise.

So sweet heart, please, try your best and enter, so the country will clean up all the baggage from your life, baggage that Nigeria gave to all its citizens grin
Where did you do your exchange program? Was it masters or p. hd?
