Christianity EtcRe: Bishop Oyedepo’s N2 Billion Assault Lawsuit: Court Fixes July 12 For Judgment by karpentar: 3:27pm On Jul 03, 2012

Slapping a child (child abuse) and corporal punishment are crimes in Nigeria. Assaulting someone by slapping them is a criminal offence. Just because lots of people do it does not make it right. "Everybody does it" is no defence either. If a police man kills an innocent citizen and says but police kill people all the time, does that mean he should not be prosecuted? Should Farcrook be let off the hook because lots of lawmakers take bribes?

I try not to pass judgement on others, most especially a man of God, so I have no comment on what Bishop Oyedepo did. All I know is that we have laws that we should all abide by. That is what Jesus taught us along with teachings of love for others and peace to your fellow man.
Your assertion is conflicting. You said you're not passing judgement and at the same time you're identifying someone as a "man of God" just for the reason that, he owns a church? Are you absolutely certain he's a man of God? Please leave judgement to God as instructed by the bible.

@Delfruita
Murray is more of a defensive player. Everybody knows that including his new coach Ivan Lendi, who's is trying to encourage more offensive play. That's the truth whether you agree or not! This is part of the reason he's yet to win any slam. The same reason English national team hasn't won any major trophy since I was borne, yet they consider their football league the best in the world. What a joke!!! Noise makers with nothing to show for it. No grand slam for close to 100 years now, no female player in the top 20. What a country!
SportsRe: Wimbledon 2012 by karpentar: 3:03pm On Jul 01, 2012
Murray represents typical British sporting ways. Like the English football team and clubs, its all about defense and hoping to only score by taking advantages of opponent mistakes or from set pieces. No initiative or attacking mentality. Murray its the same. Just returning the balls and defending without initiating any attack for most part of his tennis matches. There's no way he can win any grand slam that way. He can only manage to win few ATP tours once in a while because the other top players don't take these tours as serious as the slams.

British are just noise makers that hardly win anything except in some sports that opponents don't even understand the rules such as sailing, horse racing, snooker, cricket or even rugby. Useless autocratic country where kingship and queenship is left to only one family.
SportsRe: Can Nigeria Raise A Team Like Barcelona Or Chelsea? by karpentar: 3:30pm On Jun 21, 2012
My friends stop dreaming. In a poor and disorganised society like Nigeria, sports (including football) development can never be a top priority in the national budget or in the education system. Lower investment in sport decreases the potential for athletes to build their talent. What was Chelsea FC before the Russian billions salvaged the club? The Russian is not still satisfied and continues to pour money till he sees Chelsea play sexy football like Barca. That's the man's vision. On the local level, the relatively increased spending witnessed by Enyimba FC during Orji Kalu tenure rewarded Nigeria with its first CAF championship.

Without sustained investment in sports development, stop dreaming of Barca (we have enough Chelsea already) in Nigeria.

I'm not saying that you do not have the authority to paint your house as you like, but you cannot just go ahead and paint without notifying the tenants.
There's usually a signed contract.

Now knowing that Unilag is FG owned, it still does not excuse the disrespectful steps GEJ took towards renaming the school.
According to your logic, since it's FG owned, if the students and staff don't like it, then they can leave. So if they do leave, what exactly is there to own?

Looking at this at a larger angle, GEJ is ruling the nation without regards to its occupants. May 29th was supposed to be about celebrating democracy, so is democracy not about the people? Is democracy not about serving the people?
Of what use is notifying the tenants when their opinion on painting the house is of no consequence? Regardless of how they feel about it, I possibly will still proceed with my intentions. So, what’s the use letting them know in the first place? Complete waste of time!!! For this reason, GEJ hasn’t done anything wrong or disrespected anybody. My only major concern is that my beloved university is named after a thief. I weep!!!!!!

PoliticsRe: Alison-Madueke Inaugurates Africa’s Largest Oil Vessel In Delta by karpentar: 8:02pm On May 22, 2012
FENOG is an oil and gas Pipeline Engineering, Design, Procurement and Installation firm. Currently, they are bidding for an oil pipeline project valued at over $700mln. Available information indicates that FENOG presented the lowest bid and will more than likely secure this lucrative Contract with Shell Portharcourt.

At the peak of the Construction works, not less than 5000 skilled and unskilled manpower will be deployed. There will also be volumes of sub-contracting activities to be implemented by at least 50 minor contractors. The vessel recently commissioned by the Minister will be handy in executing the critical aspect of the $700mln project- the "Bonny River Crossing" (that is pulling 30 and 24 inches pipeline across 3.6km Bonny River). In the past, such multi-million dollar and complex project would be done by the likes of Wilbros, SAIPEM, DAEWOO, etc. But with the push on Nigerian content, these opportunities are now passed on to capable local contractors such as FENOG, KAZTEC or NESTOIL. Its a good news for Nigeria and a positive step forward.

What you don't know ask questions, instead of exposing avoidable ignorance in an open forum and if you have issues with the Minister, create a new post for that and vent your whatever.....

I can’t see what’s happening in Nigeria today that didn’t occur during the last Obasanjo’s government. Oil subsidy scams transpired! Bakare or others never protested or tried to occupy to save Nigeria then. Why? Obasanjo is a Yoruba man. Odi citizens were massacred for nothing by the state in broad day light, a whole village annihilated! I didn’t hear Bakara or others complain. Why? Obasanjo is a Yoruba man. Elections were massively rigged; some people even got elected why they were in prison. I didn’t hear Bakare or others criticize! Why? Obasanjo is a Yoruba man. Enormous unaccountable monies were whacked manoeuvring an illegal third term! I didn’t hear Bakare or others occupying to save Nigeria. Why? Obasanjo is a Yoruba man.

Jonathan’s only sin is that he is not a Yoruba or Hausa man. Period! As Beaf said, it’s as clear as 2+2. Shame to all of you who place so many impediments on the path of development and expect Goodluck to perform miracles and transform Nigeria overnight. Meanwhile you fools conveniently forgot that the Nigeria which you expect Goodluck to transform was ruined and destroyed by all the previous thieving Huasa/Fulani and Yoruba rulers. Fools!

PoliticsRe: Arunma Oteh Addressing Panel At Capital Market Probe - Live by karpentar: 5:06pm On May 09, 2012
@deenee

We are in for a long haul as far as the future of this country is concerned. All we do is sit back and watch as the future of our children born and yet unborn is mortgaged on a platter by our corrupt leaders.

I am also amazed at the kind of sentimental analysis provided herein by some people. I am not an overtly religious person but only God can save us.

Please tell me this how is Otteh corrupt when she was brought in 2010 after the market has already collapsed? Of course a lot of people working under her don't like her because she is trying to bring sanity to the capital market.

I have worked in the Nigerian capital market and I can tell you that madam Ndi took the whole of Nigeria for a ride and still has people within SEC loyal to her because as one poster has posited her era was that of 'chop I chop' where a few people in her caucus fleeced innocent Nigerians of their
hard earned cash by manipulating share prices and floating bogus coys on the NSE.
Please for those asking for Otteh's head which coy has she approved to be floated on the NSE since she become DG? Also, her efforts to bring sanity to the market is truncated daily as she is constantly bombarded with one list or the other by our NASS members seeking to place their croonies in SEC without taking cognizance of their competencies. This is the same thing that has happened to our police force where cadets are recruited not based on competence but rather through political connection and at the end of the day we are saddled with a moribound police force comprising of people not fit for the responsibility bestowed on them. Of course Otteh will have perceived enemies amongst her subordinates as she trying to bring change.

A friend that was also recruited from abroad to work with SEC resigned in annoyance and returned to the USA when her colleagues went diabolical and even to the extent of tying a padlock on a live tortoise and placing in her office!

May God open our eyes of understanding!
Your analysis is knowledge based and the best among the nonsense spewed by most posters. I have to agree with you 100%. How could Otteh’s crooked minded executives support her? Nobody who wants to fight corruption in Nigeria ever finds it easy. If you’re in doubt, ask Buhari. Imagine the extremely fraudulent National Assembly questioning someone on fraud!!!!!! Nothing wey I no go hear. Without a doubt, the hopeless national assembly probing committee have been induced by Onyiuke and she won’t be summoned to that house for a second time as Otteh.

Christianity EtcRe: Here Is A List Of Churches That Has Derailed In The Message Of Holiness. by karpentar: 2:30pm On May 08, 2012
BIBLE
"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal; but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." ( Matthew 6:19-21)

TODAY
It is not important to accumulate so much wealth on this earth because it’s perishable. Instead focus on earthly holiness and you will ultimately be rewarded with eternal heavenly blessings. For, the more wealth you accumulate on earth, the more your heart is diverted from holiness required for an everlasting life in heaven.

BIBLE
"You lack one thing; go, sell what you own, and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me." ( Mark 10:21)

TODAY
If you want to be my disciple, go and sell all your superfluous private jets worth multi million dollars. Use the sale earnings to erect free schools for the poor, free hospitals for the poor, free shelter for the poor plus free food and drinks for the poor. I am sure you don’t want this statement in Mathew 25:42(“For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink”) to be applicable to you! Once you do this, you will please me and will automatically become a heavenly candidate.

BIBLE
"Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; for one's life does not consist in the abundance of possessions." ( Luke 12:15)

TODAY
Shun all insatiability and wealth build-up because God doesn’t judge you based on those. Instead, you’ll be judged only by the purity of your heart.

BIBLE
"The land of a rich man produced abundantly. And he thought to himself, 'What should I do, for I have no place to store my crops?' Then he said, ' I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. And I will say to my soul, 'Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, be merry.' But God said to him, 'You fool! This very night your life is being demanded of you. And the things you have prepared, whose will they be?' So it is with those who store up treasures for themselves but are not rich toward God." ( Luke 12:16-21)

TODAY
Self explanatory but can be summarised as follows: “Why amass so much possessions when you don’t own your life and can pass away any time?”

BIBLE
"Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you." ( John 6:27)

TODAY
Rather than gather perishable riches on earth, you should instead, emphasise on living a humble and holy life. This will in the long run guarantee you everlasting contentment in heaven.
All I am saying is different people with their different kinds of approach, Mourinho's approach to things differ a lot from other managers. The media alone can make a team lose the league like in the case of AVB where the media scrutinized both the old players attitude and the coach's tactics and basically you could see that everyone was fighting to prove the media wrong rather than doing their job and hence AVB's failure, but Mourinho ensure he makes so much drama to the extent no one remembers to put pressure on his players. That is his Character, that is his way, not all children born of same mother turn out same. Negativity, Ego, Rude, Nonchalant, Aggressive or whatever he is called. ALL I KNOW IS THERE IS ONE MAN WHO BRINGS SOME DRAMA AND UNEXPECTED EVENTS INTO THE GAME OF FOOTBALL, SOMEONE WHO SAYS HIS MIND THE WAY IT AFFECTS HIM, AND SERVES ALL PUNISHMENT DISHED OUT TO HIM, PLAY MIND GAMES WITH REF, MEDIA, FOOTBALL GOVERNING BODIES, AND OPPONENTS JUST TO GET HIS GAME MOVING, THAT IS ONE-IN-ALL MANAGER.

HE DOES HIS JOB, THAT IS ALL THAT MATTERS

I DON'T HATE ANY MANAGER OR DISLIKE ANY...... I ONLY LOVE ONE MORE BECAUSE WITH HIM I COULD EXPECT UNBELIEVABLE DRAMAS........SOME OF THE THINGS THAT PUT SMILES ON MY FACE WHEN I LOOK BACK..........THAT'S IT!/quote]

You need to ask that question?

Mourinho did not ask to be called in place of his team, people just do!

Mourinho as a person and coach has his own admirers and fans too, wherever he is, his fans will be.
Some people watch games just because of some certain footballers, it is what gives you Joy that you did follow

Am not really gonna do this again, all I want you to know is the man is not the media, the fans or the footballers, he is a just someone with a heart and a charisma that has attracted majority of people. If you do not like it the TAKE A GUN AND KILL HIM

mourinho has his FANS! For one reason or the other, PERIOD
You are wrong bros. Mourinho indeed indirectly asked to be called in place of his team! Just one glance at what he says to the press tells you that he is constantly pushing people around him and the rules in order to get what he wants and becomes the issue rather than his teams. Surely and undoubtedly, he is driven by a hunger to succeed that is seldom seen in even the best of people and it’s that winning habit that propels him to manipulate the media to his advantage.

If Jose Mourinho is a master in anything, it’s manipulating the media. In all the leagues that Mourinho has been involved, there must be some kind of media frenzy involving the match officials’ performance. This only serves to deflect from Jose Mourinho’s miserable tactical setup whenever he loses any game. He has always successfully diverted the attention from any of his failed gameplans towards the referees. His ego tends to attract all the headlines and so takes the media and people like you off his teams

With Jose Mourinho comes negativity. I can’t recall a series of pre-Mourinho Clasico’s that were so explosive. Sure, a Clasico is always a tense affair but Jose Mourinho’s media antics propelled it into the stratosphere. Over the past eight or nine years the Clasico’s were always hard but fair, both teams have been on the winning and losing side but never did emotions boil over like in this Mourinho era.

Everywhere your “Special One” goest, he ensures controversy follows him and in the process putting him in the limelight more than his teams. I thought, you should know this. But I won’t be surprised if you don’t because, fanatics see beyond their noses.

Oya you too.

1 "The players were dedicated and very talented"............ go to Chelsea FC and ask Lampard of AVB, the lampard, JT, DD, AC, MIKEL that were useless, worthless and too old under AVB, what are they now with RDM as the manager? They become warriors, fighters and are committed. Personality works for RDM and that same personality trait is what Mourinho affects his players with, they keep on fighting, believing, hoping, never giving up and he keeps on pushing them that is what differentiate football mangers from man/player managers

2 Barcelona players lacked what? They lacked nothing, they played well. Last season barca lost 2 games n drew 6, this season lost 3 n drew 6 (no sign of underachievement dulling their concentration, their tempo was still high)
Madrid last season Lost 4 n drew 5 , this season Lost 2 n drew 4 (they upped their game....... Give credit and stop giving excuses

3 Real Madrid have needed this titled not just this year but long long ago, so stop saying trash, Barcelona did their best but real Madrid upped their game.

4. Fortunate to be gini? Abeg stop this trash....you are indeed to be pitied, all this your self condoling words are trash.....with this results Madrid have as at now, they would have won the league with it last season. So abeg stop. GIVE CREDIT AND MOVE ON........
My friend, no one questions Maurinho's talent as a football coach. What most people will never subscribe to is the too much emphasis on a coach rather than the team. Any time I watch Madrid games alongside Maurihno (not necessarily Real Madrid) militant devotees, all I hear is Maurihno will beat this team or that team, Maurihno will win this or that. How often do you hear from Barca fans that Gordiola will defeat this team or that team? Is it not Barca, Barca all the way? Is it not ManU instead of Ferguson? or Juventus instead of (I can’t even remember the manager’s name)?

Most of you are presently Madrid fans because of Maurihno. Once he runs off, all of you will switch to his latest team. That’s unquestionable! We love Barca for the ONLY reason that they play beautiful and attractive football. That love remains regardless of who handles the team, including Maurihno, as long as the beautiful game lingers. It’s the club culture. A culture that led to 13 (plus one more on the way) trophies in just 4 years....unbeatable!!!!!!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Athletic Bilbao Vs Real Madrid (0 - 3) On May 2nd 2012 by karpentar: 11:35am On May 03, 2012
Congratulations to Madrid. That is were it should end. All these "best coach of the generation" is annoying to hear. Sure he did a fine job, but not one that was special because he was hired to win the champions league and he is yet to achieve that. Porto without mourinho won the league, and UEFA cup, Inter had won the league 4 times before he got there... Chelsea could have won the league without him with the retinue of players that they had and same goes to madrid. Notwithstanding, he did his part.

He should win the champions league with them then he would be considered as "one of the best". Going to different teams that have plenty money to spend and winning titles there is not my criteria for being the "special one". My standards are waaaaaaaay higher.

Sir Alex, Wenger and maybe even Capello still lead the way before Jose. And they do it without making so much of a fuss.
Even if he wins Championship league, it still doesn't make him any special one. He'll just be like other fine coaches that have accomplished same. Madrid won the title because:
1) The players were dedicated and very talented;
2) Barcelona players lacked of motivation for overachievement;
3) Real Madrid needed the title far more than the poorly motivated Barcelona. You can’t win a whopping 13 titles in just 4 years and still be as stirred up as someone who haven’t touched a single thing within the same period;
4) Madrid coach was fortunate enough to be a direct beneficiary of Barca ill motivated play.

With these reasons, there was no way Madrid could have lost the title. There is now a direct threat to Barca domination and surely, they'll respond next season. If Madrid is able to cope with this response and goes ahead to defend the title, then that will be some achievement that even die hard Barca fans must acknowledge.

5) The 5th of May in 2013 will not be on Saturday
6) PDP will not rig election again.
7) Iran cedes all its land to Israel by September 31st 2012.

On the other hand, if after reading these “sure-banker” prophesies and you’re still noncompliant and refuse to pay the exceedingly reduced tithe, surely, things will be tight for you for very very very long time.

I notice you're as sore as your ever grumbling leader - Maurihno. The "broken Oba's cup" was the only title that your hurting leader was able to scrap out last season. In fact, it’s the only thing he has ever managed to win since he joined Real Madrid. Till date he proudly mentions that Oba cup in every of his interviews, like in the post match interview he granted following the deserved loss to Bayern. Wake up man. There's no player as good as the undisputable king of football - Leo Messi. The whole loving football world can't be wrong for three consecutive years. If that fact hunts you, I suggest you start digging ground, after, cover the ground, then dig again, after cover, then dig again, after you cover....continue till you get to 6 feet, then you can jump in the dug hole and call me to come over and cover the hole. Trust me, you'll be comfortable there and will be very far away from Messi-hunting for ever. Try it. It works. That’s what somebody just told me!!!!!
