PoliticsRe: Killings: Investigate Ahmed Maje’s Claims - MURIC by kawkab: 1:44pm On Jul 09, 2018
The very caustic approach that MURIC adopts in making Statements on political issues is worrisome. Every press release and statements from MURIC is usually filed with so much bile.
Ayo Oritsejafor has refrained from meddling in political matters since the inception of this regime. Trying to link alleged shipments in containers to Oritsejafor and Jonathan is quite laughable, especially when conjectures and speculations are used as the backup claims.
Jonathan is not the only one that has gone to Israel of recent, so trying to establish a nexus between arm shipment to Nigeria and Jonathan visit to Israel without any thorough investigation is laughable.
The man that said politicians are responsible for the killing in Plateau State, should kindly state and submit the evidence he has to the DSS. If that is truly the case such politicians should be fished quickly and prosecuted without any form of witch hunting.

First they lure them and next they abandon them ..Nigeria is not worth sacrificing anything for because Nigeria will never sacrifice a single thing for its citizens
The above above amuses me.

He stands a better chance of making a name for himself with the Super Eagles than playing for the 3-Lions of England. I also wonder how you derive joy in using derogatory names when referring to your country or country men.

Gabriel Agbonlahor abandoned Nigeria to play for England; he want only used for some few grade B matches and a couple of friendly matches same for Carlton Cole Okorie, Nedum Onuoha, John Fashanu and several others.

People like Alex Iwobi, Leon Balogun, William Trost Ekong are all doing great playing for Naija and very soon others like Ola Aina, Fikayo Tomori, Tyron Ebuehi would join the train of the super eagle.

No matter what you think, Naija is still our country.
CrimeRe: A Dead Baby Dumped In A Bush In Cross River State (Warning: Graphic Photos) by kawkab: 11:51am On Sep 12, 2017
When things like happen people are so quick to point finger of blame at the lady/girl concern. Few person make reference to the fact that the pregnancy may have been rejected by the man concerned.

The natural result of unprotected sex most times is pregnancy. A man should be wise enough to either abstain from sex or take preventive measures.

Things like this comes as a result of a guy feeling that he must bed every lady he has feelings for.

God help us.
CareerRe: Can I Make A Living Out Of Data Analysis by kawkab: 9:51am On Aug 19, 2017
Bro, you can build a career from Data Analysis, however it is pertinent you understand the following;
1. To be a good data analyst you must understand data science and to do this it is good you have sound knowledge in any of the numerate science or some aspect of the humanities.
2. A sound knowledge of research method is necessary for a data analyst to progress from beginner to expert.
3. Knowing the software tool is not enough, you may be very good at using SPSS, but if don’t understand statistics and research method, you may find it difficult to interpret the result generated by the software.
4. A good knowledge of statistics and research method is necessary also because, it will help you know the appropriate statistical test to apply in different problem scenarios.
5. Don’t limit yourself to SPSS only. There are a multiplicity of data analysis tools. SPSS is just one of them e.g.
- MATLAB – Matrix Laboratory used mostly in Science and for scientific modelling. It also provides SIMULINK for simulations.
- E-View used monthly in Economics and Econometrics
- EPI-INFO – Health Statistics and epidemiology.
- CS-PRO – Open Source used in health statics.
- STATISTICA, MATHEMATICA
- STATA – Econometrics
- R (Data Analysis, Simulation, Modelling)
EView, CSPRO is used by several internal NGOs (FHI360, John Snow, MSF etc) in their monitoring and evaluation projects.
ODK with the pervasive of the internet and mobile broadband penetration another strong emerging platform in Data Analysis is ODK which makes it easy for data to be collected and analysed of mobile devices.
Finally my take for you is;
a. Master at leats 2 – 3 data analysis platforms
- SPSS (with AMOS – AMOS allows SPSS users to do Strutured equation modelling), R and CS-PRO
- SPSS, Eview, STATA
- SPSS, ODK, R

b. You can work as a freelancer. A lot of post graduate students in tertiary institutions are looking for people to help them analyse their data both at undergraduate and post graduate level. Start from institutions closest to you.

c. Build a network around do funded NGOs a lot of them require data analyst to help out in data analysis for the projects and field surveys.

Thank you. See you at the top.
PoliticsRe: "Buhari Has Been Fulfilling His Campaign Promises" - Lai Mohammed by kawkab: 4:39pm On Aug 12, 2017
Please Lai Mohammed should kindly tell us the promises Buhari and his cabinet is working tirelessly to fufill.

1. Last week it was reported that the government has spent N700 Billion Naira (.7 Trillion) in combating terrorism/Bokpo Haram in the North East, yet the Boko Haram sect has become more daring in their attacks, Nothing has been heard of the Police Women that were kidnapped, 48 villagers were kidnapped last month and no one is saying anything about it. Not forgetting the NNPC/UNIMAID staff. The media is just quiet like nothing happened. Where is Pastor Bakare, Fr. Mbaka, Festus Keyamo etc have they all suddenly lost their voices.

2. Inflation has not in anyway reduced. The prices of commodities are still at an all time high, check the cost of inter-state transportation. Cost of motor spare parts all are still high. Check the cost of replacement components for your cars and how challenging it has become to keep your vehicles in top shape at all times.

3. There has being an unprecidented increase in tax, tarrif and charges. From increase in Customs duties for Cars, Bank Charges, Taxes, Increase in cost of electricity etc.

4. Back-door employment is still going on in key government agencies and parastatals.

So please which promises is the Buhari administration fulfilling. We need to know.

Put APC or PDP aside and critically ask this question.
LiteratureRe: The Godfather By Mario Puzo Review by kawkab: 9:59am On Aug 02, 2017
Mario Puzo books is a must-read for all lovers of good books. he has an uncanny way of writing his story lines and stringing scenes together. His books are almost impossible to put down we a you start reading them.

1. The Godfather
2. The Last Don'
3. The Last Don
4. The Sicilian
5. The Fourth K.
6. Omerta.

For the Godfather I advise that you read the book before watching the movie. the book gives a deeper understanding of the storyline. there are aspect of the book that are not depicted in detail by the movie. In the movie, part 3 of the Godfather tries to tell the story of the death of Pope John Paul I (Albino Luciani) and the circumstances sourrounding it.

The Last Don is also a mind blower.

The family chronicles the conspirarcy in the papacy in the pre-modern era and the influences exerted by the Pope with focus on the reign of Pope Alexander and his son Caesara Borgia (the Borgias).

It is good for men to recommend these books for their sons. When you read this books, it makes you know that you dont take things for its face value.

Some of this protest smacks of sheer stupidity. These people have never called the House of Rep members and Senator (Phillip Tanimu Aduda) to question as regards the development efforts and interest of the indegenes of the FCT.

As it stands today in Nigeria, everybody is marginalized whether Ibo, Hausa, Yoruba, Edo etc etc. the only persons that are not marginalized is the political class, who have apportioned the nations wealth for their family and friends.

Since you read physics you have a number of options viz Solid State Physics, Electrophysics, Biophysics, Semiconductor Electronics, Industrial Physics, ICT, Communications etc. After this go for you Masters and on completion of your masters pursue your Ph.D programme.
PoliticsRe: Senate Passes Maritime University bill by kawkab: 3:17pm On Nov 16, 2016
Nice one from the senate.

Though there are other institutions offering course in transport as posited by Minister Amaechi, they are not degree awarding. These institutions are Maritime Academy, Oron-Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria Institute of Transport Technology, Zaria.

Maritime Academy is essentially a merchant Navy Training programme offering HND while the NITT Kaduna offering courses in Transportation Technology and Management leading to HND.

If the Maritime University Okerenkoko is properly structured and positioned it would thrive and offer quality programmes. Presently there is only one of such institution in West Africa; The Regional Maritime University, Teshie-Ghana. The Maritime University can affiliate and collaborate with similar institution in Malaysia, South Korea and Singapore. These are nations with well developed seafaring and ship building culture that rivals that of the western nations.

Technically the University can partner with Nigerdock-Lagos and other EPC (Exploration, Production and Construction) companies involved in the Oil and gas Industry. The Nigeria Content Development Bill has helped a lot of indigenous firms to build local capacity in the construction and management of equipment for the oil industry.

Finally Amaechi's excuse that the area where the university is safe cannot hold water. There is still the University of Maiduguri in Maiduguri, Ramat Poly, Maiduguri irrespective of the Boko Haram crisis.

SportsRe: Olympics Basketball: Nigeria Loses Third Straight Game, Beaten 87-96 By Spain by kawkab: 12:53pm On Aug 12, 2016
I must say a big kudos to our basketball team. They did quite well and their quality and standard of play was quite high. They gave their best in the 3 games they have played thus far. Their margin of loss was slim in the games they played with Lithuania and Spain. Mind you these countries and power house in basketball in Europe.

The standard of basketball games in this Olympic is quite high. Australia almost defeated USA in their basket ball game on Tuesday. If not for the 3 points ability of Carmelo Anthony, Australia would have gotten away with a win.

if this tempo is maintained we will be able to rival and outperform Angola, Senegal and Tunisia in FIBA Africa.

PoliticsRe: 'Why Always Remi Tinubu?' - Dino Melaye Takes Another Swipe At Tinubu's Wife by kawkab: 3:21pm On Jul 18, 2016
sagacitytunday:
I've consciously restrained myself from making comments on this Senators Remi/Dino' saga because I always want to stand and protect the rights of women, but at this junction, we should call a spade a spade.

The Stance of my APC friends on this issue is very annoying and if there's anything I detest about APC, it's hypocrisy. If Nigeria doesn't kill hypocrisy, hypocrisy will kill Nigeria.

Senator Dino is a personality that's very popular for his intermittent display of the five minutes madness syndrome, right from his days as a member of the House of Rep. This was well celebrated by the APC and he was a Hero during the GEJ era!

Senator Remi Tinubu on the other hand was the First lady of Lagos State for eight years and she returned to the Senate for a second term, not forgetting her husband has been in the corridors of power from time immemorial. For a personality in her position, who has been a VIP for a long time, her unruly behaviour in the Senate is not only worrisome, uncalled for, but a disgrace to whatever she represent. Haba, is she the only woman senator in the Senate? From Obanikoro, to Saraki, to Ekwermadu and now Dino, in sane Clime's, people would have demanded for her resignation.

There's time for everything. If she desired to be the Senate President, she should wait for her time. Lagos belongs to the Tinubus', so if she's willing, she can return to the Senate every four years like Senator David Mark, until she becomes the SP. She should be cautioned, because to every action, there's an equal and opposite reaction. Everyone cannot be a gentleman like Saraki, Obanikoro and the rest. If she has an unruly tongue, somebody possess an unruly behaviour. Hers is the first case of a woman throwing all caution into the wind as a legislator in Nigeria. She should be a good Ambassador of her party, the womanhood and her husband who's a National leader of their party.

My grandmother once told me a story..... My grandfather was the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti.... The Late Anirare Aladesanmi. She said there was a particular day, a boy and his parents were brought to the Palace to be punished for insulting the king. On getting to the Ewi, a man who will never justify the wicked nor punished the innocent, asked that the boy should be given the opportunity to speak before he pronounces judgement on him and his family. The boy began by telling the gathering how the Prince (the Ewi' son, who were worshipped like gods those days) started by insulting and cursing his father, the boy reiterated that when he couldn't withstand the abuse on his father, he too cursed the father of the Prince. The Ewi asked his son if the boy lied and the Prince responded that he was the first to curse the boy's father. My grandfather told the gathering that a father is a father, king or not, that since his son was the first to curse another person' father, the boy too possess the right to curse the Prince' father, irrespective of who the father may be. He asked that the boy and his family be released while his son should be severely dealt with, for having the effrontery to insult the father of the boy. She said, thereafter, no Prince or Princess dared go out of the Palace to misbehave.

Morals: If the King had praised his son and punished the boy and his family, other Princes and Princesses would have followed suit. Till date, the Aladesanmis are well respected wherever they are mentioned or appear.

At a time in this country, Patience Jonathan was a personality the APC insulted and ridiculed everyday. GEJ never reacted to qny insult on him and his family. Someone even called her Shepopotamus and the APC celebrated him, what goes around comes around.

Imagine poking her hand in the face of a colleague, someone's husband and father! If we continue to celebrate this, it's a disgrace to womanhood. A woman of her calibre should be reserved, cool&calculated, comported, a role model and not confrontational, impatient, violent or provocative.

Senator Bola Tinubu should caution her, because a child that goes out insulting other people's parents (Yoruba's call them Omo atiro) will succeed in taking curses and insults back to his parents. Respect is reciprocal, so is insults and violence!

The APC on the other hand should save the country, this dramas and national embarrassments. Nigerians are hungry and not bored. Enough of the Nollywood, Africa Magic scenarios between the Executive and the Legislative. Instead of addressing the economic woes of the country, the ruling party is engaged in disgraceful power tussle, from inception till date.

It's glaring Nigerians made the greatest mistake of the century, the day they adopted this negative party, with negative change, offering negative solutions to the challenges of the country.

Senator Dino Melaye, get a medical expert on the treatment to your five minutes madness malady. It's becoming unbecoming.

Wetin be my own sef?
Eran Oba lo mu isu Oba je.
APC vs APC....... All na change!!!
Thanks for this very objective post
