My friend it is not everything that you should joke about. The Ooni's stool is a respect position in Nigeria as such certain comments that trivializes that positions should not be made.

Before oil, there was Cocoa and Cocoa would mostly be an export commodity even when Oil/Crude is gone. This move by the Ooni is very strategic and it shows vision, insight and strategic planning.

Jellybean - Android 4.3
Kitkat - Android 4.4
Lollipop - Android 5.0
Marshmallow - Android 6.0

They are basically different versions of the android operating system with Jellybean being the oldest and Marshmallow being the most recent.
From Jellybean to Marshmallow you will observe a drastic improvement in speed, GUI aesthetics, better colour and picture output and complexity. Someone that is used to Jellybean will find marshmallow difficult to interact with but will be able to interact with Kitkat relatively well. Conversely, someone that is familiar with Lollipop will find interacting with Marshmallow a walkover and consider both 4.3 & 4.4 (Jellybean & lollipop) archaic.
Kindly note the bolded as it is not true. Before JellyBean the following versions existed;

Cupcake.
Donut
Éclairs
Froyo (Frozen Yoghurt's)
Gingerbread
Honeycomb

My brother, you are wrong on this. GEJ tried as much as he can to explain to the populace the reason for the removal of subsidy. Okojo iweala, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi and others held town hall meetings and debates on the need for the removal; but certain elements that were against his government painted a picture that made it look like there was no reason for the removal. His action defeats the argument that terrorism is being fueled by poverty. A man from a privileged background such as his would most likely have all that he craved for. Yet he was motivated to live in harsh conditions and give up his life for a ludicrous cause. What propels many rich kids to become blood sucking hounds is sheer sadism. The urge to hurt others and leave a name written in blood.
Thanks for your post. There is misguided belief that terrorism is fueled by poverty. This is very far from the truth. The case of AbdulMuttalab (underwear bomber) whose father is presumably one of the richest men in Nigeria comes to mind. There is an underlying sadistic and satanic ideology that is being taught to these persons. if not how can one explain their decisions.

Nairaland General12 Signs Someone Is Manipulating And Controlling You by kawkab(op): 10:24am On May 08, 2016
As a pastor, I have studied human nature for more than three decades and have come to the conclusion that some people are actually under the control of other people. It is almost like a spell (or witchcraft, to be precise)!

Whether it is a wife who stays in an abusive relationship with her husband or a mother who allows her drug-addicted child to continually take money from her, there are many people in the world who manipulate others for their own satisfaction, caring nothing for the other person. Although I have just mentioned some extremes, most cases of control are far more subtle and do not involve a person physically abusing another person. In fact, it could be a petite woman controlling a large, strong man! In many cases, the issues presented in this article can be true in a marriage.

The following are some signs you are under the unhealthy control of another person:

1. The controlling person you are in close relationship with doesn't allow you to prove your point when in disagreement.

In many cases, people controlling others will not allow a conversation to go a certain way or to continue if they think they are going to lose the argument. This is because they can't bear to lose their place of power, which comes from making the other person think they are always right. Many controlling people cannot handle it if you disagree with them. At first, they may even act like they want your input. But the moment they see the conversation is not going their way, they twist things around or pick on one little thing said and go on a rabbit trail with the intent of derailing the conversation, never letting it come to a conclusion that deviates from their position.

2. The controlling person manipulates you with temper tantrums and threats.

Often, controlling people will go into fits of rage and temper tantrums when they are not having their way because they will do anything, even to the point of violence, to have their way and manipulate people into obeying them.

3. The controlling person constantly tries to make victims feel guilty or bad about the way they treat them when the opposite is really true.

Even though the controlling person may be an abuser of the one they control, they will try to make the victim think that they are the abuser so that, by using reverse psychology, they are able to fool the controlled, naïve person into thinking the abuser is really the victim. Thus, they get the victim to apologize, resulting in letting the abuser continue to abuse and control them.

4. The controlling person is always expecting more from you and is never satisfied.

Another subtle form of control is when a person gives you the impression that whatever you do for them is never good enough, that you are always falling short. This makes the victim feel indebted and obligated to continue to try harder to please, satisfy and serve the controller.

5. The controlling person is always questioning your motives.

Another not-so-obvious way to control is for the controller to continually question the motives of the person they control, so the victim is never sure of themselves and, thus, always on shaky spiritual and emotional ground. This can result in the victim actually looking up to the controller as a role model for godliness and purity, putting the controller in the driver's seat once again!

6. The controlling person is constantly putting you down.

Another form of control is when a person continually puts you down, calling you names and questioning the wisdom in the decisions you make. This can make the victim feel obligated to try harder to please the controller and trust their wisdom, so they are always letting the controller make the important decisions!

7. The controlling person is used to always having their way.

Usually in a healthy marriage or friendship, there is give and take; sometimes the husband has his way and sometimes the wife has her way. But in a controlling relationship, the controller is always jockeying to have their way. Or they will allow you to have your way in many minor things so that in all major things, they will always have the final say.

8. The controlling person walks away from their responsibilities as a way to manipulate others.

Another way controllers have their way is to actually walk away from their responsibilities at the worst possible time if they don't get their way, thus almost blackmailing a spouse, business partner or fellow minister into letting them have their way. For example, when walking away or threatening to walk away right before or in the midst of an important meeting, the victim will agree to almost any demands so as to complete the task at hand to avoid humiliation. This is a very common form of control.

9. The controlling person finds ways to impose their will in every situation.

The underlying essence of all controllers is their desire to impose their will and agenda in every situation they deem meaningful. They may have numerous different ways they do so, but the end result is always the same: Ultimately, they get their way!

10. The controlling person threatens to end the relationship.

Especially in a marriage or dating situation, a controller continually threatens divorce or to walk away from the relationship once they see that the victim will cave in! This is especially true when the controlling spouse is married to a pastor or prominent elected official who could have their career go down the tubes if their controlling spouse actually follows through and walks away, which doesn't really happen in most cases.

11. The controlling person threatens to commit suicide.

In extreme cases, a spouse, close friend or family member may threaten suicide if they deem that it will get them care or attention or enable them to have their way. In most cases, they will never kill themselves if given the real chance, but they will play on the emotional strings of the victim who loves them and will continually give in to them to stop them from seemingly ending their life.

12. The controlling person withholds physical affection.

Many times a woman in a relationship with a man will use the power of sex to manipulate and get what they want from a man. Women usually aren't stupid enough or as desperate for sex as men are to fall for this old-fashioned technique!

In conclusion, it is not always clear if the person controlling another person is fully aware they are doing it. In some cases, I am sure it is intentional, and in other cases, it could just be something done instinctively that they learned growing up as a survival mechanism.

The first step for victims of control to be set free is to be honest and self-aware regarding their unhealthy relationships. Victims of control and abuse need to speak to a professional counselor and get mediation, especially if they are married or in a business relationship. The first step for a victim of control is to base their identity fully on Christ and not in their work, their marriage or any relationship. This alone can give them the courage to walk out of this bondage. Victims need to learn to stand their ground and call the bluff of the controller, even if it means the relationship will be forever altered!

Those with issues of control will never let go of their power easily; many would rather sacrifice their relationships and ministries rather than give up control, because having control, in their perspective, is their greatest payoff.

People are just hopeful; this is normal. Actually the budget is supposed to have a multiplier effect on all sectors of the economy if things are rightly done. Procurement (supply and contracting) would commence and the trickle down effect means that business would make sales and more money would be in circulation.

However it is advisable that all young persons look for ways of bettering their life by engaging in meaningful enterprise, because no government would directly put money in your pocket. God bless you.

Even as a Yoruba, Chinua Achebe's work will continually hold a dear place in my heart. I read Things Fall Apart for the first time at age 8 , and I havevread it a dozen times since then.
Other great African works of art include:

The Nigerian Fulani Herdsmen And The Grazing Reserve Bill: A defining moment of leadership. By Iyke Nwambie
admin / 6 days ago
One of the most intriguing concepts that I learned in Leadership school was the concept of the “Defining Moment Of A Leader…” The defining moment of a leader is not a fancy, catchy phrase that entertains, it is not a set of choice words that appeals to fancy. Instead, it is that moment in the course of a leader’s stewardship when that leader engages his or her moral compass to do the needful. It has to do with that moment when a leader goes beyond the norm to do what is right. It has to do with that auspicious moment when a leader decides to harness the character, the courage, and the will to do the needful in order to avert the ugly. Joseph L. Badaracco, Jr. in his awesome book titled, “Defining Moments: When managers (and leaders) must choose between right and right,” submits that “the defining moment of a leader is not when that leader decides to choose between right and wrong…Instead, it is when that leader decides to choose between right and right.” (Badaracco, 1987).

History is replete with leaders who dared to stand for what they believed to be right: For example, Abraham Lincoln rose beyond the norm to declare the emancipation of slaves in America, Ronald Reagan stood strong when he called on Mr. Gorbachev to bring down the dividing walls between the eastern and the western hemispheres of Germany, Barrack Obama dared to put a stop to the dwindling job market in America through financial bailouts, Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe of Nigeria, Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana, Jomo Kenyatta of Kenya and others dared to envision a more united Africa when they muted the concept of Pan-Africanism, the legendary Chief Obafemi Awolowo of Nigeria dared to believe that education must be free for all regardless of the cost considering how he had to struggle to raise money for his Law program in England, the late Dim Ojukwu chose to fight for the liberation of his people from what he considered a high-handed Federal Government, and Dr. Yakubu Gowon (whom Ojukwu fondly called Jack…” decided that his last name, Gowon must be converted to this acronym G.O.W.O.N (Go On With One Nigeria).

The import of the above instances is that the sole responsibility of leadership is decision-making. A leader takes a stand on issues so that the led might know where to stand. A leader who leads by proxy is a leader who may have decided to play little pranks on the led. A leader who leads by body language on serious issues, for the most part, creates room for being misrepresented by the led. A leader that keeps you guessing through the genuflections of calculated silences when clear-cut statements must be made is often perceived to have given a nod of tacit affirmation to the status quo.

Every leader has a defining moment or moments. And some of those defining moments may not have even appeared in the campaign speeches of that leader while running for office. President George W. Bush is a good example of that. His Presidency was judged principally on how he handled the wars that arose during his stewardship, President Goodluck Jonathan was judged concerning how persuasive his battles against Boko Haram was.

Thinking along this line, I remember the current President of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari whose appealing and glowing goal in coming to power was to fight the menace of corruption in Nigeria. It is my prayer that he would succeed at it. But permit me to submit that as much as President Buhari would love his defining moment to be viewed from that premise if he succeeds at it, it is also needful, audacious and prime to bring to his presidential attention, that if the legislators go ahead to allow the Grazing Reserve Bill that is currently before the Senate at the behest of the Presidency (having gone through the second reading) to sail through, his Presidency might as well be defined by it.

President Buhari is faced with a good example of when a leader has to decide between right and right and not necessarily between right and wrong. Deciding to choose right in the face of wrong is pretty easy to do even for a Toddler. But deciding to choose one right from another right (if that leader perceives it to be so) is one of the daunting tasks of leadership. Why so, you ask? It is the singular fact that either way a decision that is beyond the propensities of mere body language, presidential candor, and political taciturnity must be taken. And that decision is usually fuelled by the moral courage, character, and motives of the leader in question. For example, while the majority of Nigerians see the decision to curtail the mayhem of the Fulani herdsmen as a decision between right and wrong which ordinarily should have been easy for the Government to embark on, the President Buhari-led Federal Government sees it differently. Some have alluded to the fact that President Buhari has a moral burden to call out the nefarious acts of the Fulani herdsmen being a Fulani himself. Not just being a Fulani, but also running a Cattle Ranch business himself. And not just running a Cattle ranch business, but also being the Life Patron and a respected member of the association that fuels the pressure interests of the Fulani herdsmen.

The current Minister of Agriculture and an APC chieftain helped to tilt the focus of thinking Nigerian on how to interpret the body language of President Buhari in this matter with this quote:

“We are faced with cattle grazing challenge now and the conflicts. A lot of people are getting killed. It is my business to solve that problem. The President has told me so. I have done my survey and I have taken my decision that we have to grass up 50,000 hectares of land in the next six months across the northern belt before we move south. I’m bringing improved grass seeds. I will multiply it and I’m going to solve the problem of grazing. Whether critics like it or not, it’s my business” (Ogbeh, Vanguard editorial, 2016).

The core part of the Grazing Reserve Bill is the part that mandates every state to carve out a part and portion of their locales to the Fulani herdsmen as a Grazing field. And should they refuse, the Federal Government would exercise its right to apportion such land from the local community at a compensation. And if the compensation is not suiting to the affected community, such communities can only go to court if and only if the Attorney General of that state gives consent to it. The simple implication of this position by the Federal Government of Nigeria is that the Fulani Herdsmen have done no wrong in all the gory details that have assaulted the collective psyche of the average Nigerian in the past couple of months.

Time and space would not allow for the sordid kidnappings, bloodshed and massacres that have been meted out on the local community by the Fulani herdsmen going by their escapades from Benue to Ondo, to Edo, to Delta, to Taraba, to Plateau, to Enugu and much more recently in the farming community of Agatu in Benue state where over 300 lives were wasted, houses were burnt, and the President chose not to say a word about it…Not even a consoling message to the bereaved families.

So palpable was the “presidential silence” of President Buhari’s led Federal government on this issue that Media consultant, and public commentator, Dr. Victor Oladokun encapsulated it in these words on his Facebook profile page of March 3, 2016:

“What is happening my people? Where do we get our protection from? Is it not the time for the Federal Government to call these attacks what they are? Jihadists, Terrorism, Insurgency and pay the necessary attention to it?" (Oladokun, Facebook post, March 3, 2016).

In case, you think Dr. Oladokun was only raising a needless alarm, kindly be reminded that the Global Terrorism Index had already named Fulani herdsmen as the fourth deadliest terror group in the world.

Adding further impetus to the downside of a bill that should not be allowed to stand, former Aviation Minister and Presidential spokesman under Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode alerts on the dangers of the bill with this warning:

“If that law is ever passed and implemented, two years from that time we will regret it deeply as a nation because it will result in nothing but conflict, chaos, and strife between the Fulani herdsmen and settlers on the one hand and the local indigenous population on the other. (Fani-Kayode, Premium Times, 2016).”

Azuka Onwuka in his weekly column in the Punch newspaper of April 19, 2016, while writing along this line berated the action of FG with these words:

“Rather than take some measures to curb their attacks, the government looks the other way and decides that the best way to deal with them is to pacify them by giving them other people’s land” (Onwuka, Punch Newspapers, April 19, 2016).

So, synthesizing all the above cerebral, cautious, and audacious measures that have been voiced out by the above quoted writers, the Nigerian Federal Government ably led by President Buhari must jettison the Grazing Reserve Bill, and choose the better right over the lesser right by reminding the Fulani herdsmen that what they are into is their own personal business which fetches them a personal profit annually. Not only that, they (Fulani herdsmen) should use part of their profits to buy grazing fields after properly negotiating on agreeable terms with the landowners in any local community that decides to do business with them.

That decision would be a fair game. It will be a decision that would have enabled the President to choose between right and right. That is, uphold the right of the Fulani herdsmen to do their legitimate business as well as preserve the right of the local community to live peacefully on their land. If the FG decides, however, to follow through on the current strategy of wanting to build Grazing fields at the expense of the Government, one begins to wonder at the next line of business people who would want a government bailout after intimidating other Nigerians of their rightful locations. If the FG decides to push for a law that would attempt to hijack community lands for Fulani herdsmen who are doing their business, it will be nothing short of twisting the arms of a people on their own land, at the expense of the Federal purse for a project that is not a public venture. That would certainly serve as a veritable defining moment for Nigeria. And the consequences may not be too good. May God bless Nigeria.

My father always tell me stories of how he used to travel to the U.S in the 80s and the Naira was stronger than the dollar. I used to think it was one of the fairy tales parents tell e.g like how they always came first in class but the one day they came 2nd, they almost committed suicide cuz their parents would've killed them. Anyway, he went on to say back then, Nigerians only traveled to the US to do business, school or vacation. My father said the white man used to beg Nigerians to come to America cuz our currency was so powerful and they needed the tourism money. Nigerians never really liked travelling abroad, for what? Our economy was booming, our currency was very strong, the middle class was thriving. There was still that belief that children will grow up to surpass their parents in wealth and achievements. It's sad to see that once beautiful country with so much potential going down the drain fast while the rest of the world is excelling. $1 is now over N300. My Ghanaian friends sometimes tease me that it's cheaper to burn a pile of naira notes than buy firewood. Is this what we have become? A laughing stock? A country that produces nothing? I don't know about you but I miss the Nigeria of the 60s-80s and I certainly miss a stronger Naira.
My brother I lived in Accra Ghana for some months now. Even in our present state the Nigeria Economy is still better than that of Ghana. The prices of items in Abuja and Lagos is far cheaper than Accra.

Is your result on a 4 point or 5 point scale. Even if your grade is higher than what you stated, you still need to do a PGD because you are switching from one field to another.

PoliticsRe: Buhari Orders Mass Sackings At Budget Office by kawkab: 8:00am On Feb 18, 2016
It is amazing how so many of us expect so little from our president. It is pertinent we look at it from these angles;

1. If the President cannot go through the entire budget, his Ministers should have at least properly scrutinize the budget for their individual ministries.
2. Each minister has special advisers and personal assistants that work with them; at least these persons should have assisted the ministers in reviewing the budgets for their ministries and agencies.
3. If the President cannot review the entire budget at least he should review that of the Presidency. There are several staff and aids in the Presidency that can assist him if he cannot do it himself.
4. When the budget was presented to the National Assembly several high ranking members of the APC shouted that it is the budget of change and that it would lead to the transformation of the country. Please kindly use google to confirm this. I can provide references if you want.
4. By appending his signature and seal to the budget, it a tacit way of support and approving its content. This is a principle in leadership and management. If you append your signature to a document or instrument, it means you are in support of the content of the document and as such you are culpable if any issues arises.
5. We could all recall that the same budget was withdrawn or missing at a point. The President withdrew it through a letter and resubmitted it. What was the essence of the withdrawal and resubmission. At the point it was withdrawn was it proper for the APC led government to have taken a second look at the budget.
6. The saddest part is that, it is the same budget that is been debated at the national assembly.
7. I wish our country well.

Bigchief46:
If anyone was ever in doubt that APC is a useless party, then this is it. "Our source said"; LMFAO. The very first decision in any Court in Nigeria on the legality or otherwise of Card Reader was by the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division which held that it was not part of our Electoral Laws & that alleged non-usage of Card Readers for accreditation is no ground for nullifying an election. The CA on that basis dismissed the case brought by PDP & Agbaje against APC & Ambode. The PDP never abused the judiciary for so holding; just as Jonathan did at the Presidential election, they calmly accepted the decision & did not even appeal to the Supreme Court. The APC celebrated this FIRST decision by any Court that Card Reader is not part of the law & Ambode was left alone to carry on his governance. But now, the Supreme Court has reached this same exact decision that the CA did in favor of the APC in Agbaje, PDP V. APC, Ambode & now APC Zombies won't let us hear word. Now the judiciary is corrupt. The SC has been consistent on this point which a first year Law Student knows to be the case. This was their decision in Zamfara, Delta, Ogun, Ebonyi, Rivers, Abia & all the several other Governorship matters that have come before them. I have written detailed Legal analysis of the applicable principles before now on this forum thinking I was addressing people with brains not knowing that Zombies are parading this forum. What makes the decision in Akwa Ibom different from that in Zamfara? Or the sources did not tell you how the SC was also bribed in that case? Or in Ebonyi? I have said it: those who ride on the back of the tiger will one day end up in its belly. The Supreme Court is one of our remaining cherished & revered public institutions but never in the history of this country has it been persistently and maliciously attacked as the APC & their supporters are doing. Our democracy is in grave danger with the way the APC & its leaders are going. We are watching
My brother a lot of people have lost the ability to reason rationally because of the volume of propaganda that is being pumped into the polity and political space every day. It is quite sad and unfortunate that this is happening. Any judgment awarded to the PDP is bought but that of the APC is freehuh?? can you imagine that.

You sharpen the human appetite to the point where it can split atoms with its desire; you build egos the size of cathedrals; fiber-optically connect the world to every eager impulse; grease even the dullest dreams with these dollar-green, gold-plated fantasies, until every human becomes an aspiring emperor, becomes his own God... and where can you go from there? Instead challenging people to face their problems u give them an excuse to remain in poverty by convincing them that their problems are caused by helpless relatives in the village.
