advocate666: Oh, i believe that god exists...IN YOUR HEAD.So Judeo Christian Satan exists? |
Goshen360: See, you people should begin to understand my teachings here. The OT concealed the Gospel but the NT reveals the Gospel. The Gospel was buried in the OT but we had to wait for our mediator, Christ to come and died so as to unveil the NT. I do not mean that the OT is NOT useful but that it is NOT binding on Christians. The Bible makes it clear that the OT or OC was ONLY between God and the Jews, so the OT/OC is obsolete but the Gospel that was concealed in them and revealed by the NT is the complete revelation of GodAn assumption I must make about God is that he has the perfect state of mind, therefore no adjustment or correction or better option is left to be made. From what you are saying, you are implying that the NT is better reflection of God's will than the OT. |
Reyginus: Simples. Following psalm 90:4. A day to God, equals thousands to us. In Genesis 1:3-27, each preceeding day, represented 'thousands' of days in the universe. Your dinosaurs passed through these years even before man was created. Mind you, the 'thousand' as used here is not really a thousand, but a symbolism to connote an uncountable number of days. So, what you say?In other words, God is moving at the speed of light? I thought God was above time?! The christian God is a caricature of the distant past. |
Goshen360: In the OT, it was those who don't tithe that were robbing God and the temple BUT in the NT, it is those who STILL receive tithe that are robbers and robbing the temple for we are no more under law but under Grace.Does this mean that the Unchanging God changed his mind? And that the old testament is irrelevant? |
advocate666: That's the beauty of Satanism as compared to godliness. You don't even need to believe in Him. He is very happy that you are an atheist because you are on the right path to knowledge. Stay strong. But there is a nagging contradiction in your above comment. If atheism says the Devil and God don't exist, when they actually do; then its not knowledge but falsehood. Satanism can be admired for defiance, but borrows heavily frm the Christians. |
The Church is entitled to be independent from direct State control, whether or not they rake in billions. Separation of Church from State, reverse situation. |
ujoatu: no pl, understand the man. a woman follows a man home she met on facebook with no prior knowledge of who she is going home with (remember cynthia osokogu). ITS SELF-INFLICTED BROThat's like justifying an armed robbery. |
oiseworld: I am not in support of sending people to jail for not believing in God. But if the founding. Fathers believed America could not survive without God, admitting this and bringing it into their daily structure, then anyone who does not agree with this should either migrate to another country or simply keep his mouth shut. The State speaks for itself, the wishes of the founding fathers is inconsequential. |
Separation of Church from the State! |
Read your constitution |
In the eyes of the law, Nigeria is a secular state. Whether a govt agency is building estates of mosques or not. |
Uyi Iredia: This is of course a lie. 1. we can infer God's existence from Nature's own . 2. Without a cause there would be nothing. The cause of Nature is God.1. We don't know God's footprint 2. Asserting that leaves no room for first cause to operate. |
Image123: disbelief in God is not a mark or proof of intelligence. All these kids wey no sabi anything for school coming here to claim genius because théy read something on net about atheism.Do you have to demean your opponent before discussing with him? Just argue on your points |
The connection btw the Bible and God isn't clear, neither are the writings in the Bible. Lewis realizes that Christianity would be another cultural contraption if it closes its door on strangers and their worldviews. |
Science and its disregard for authority and morality threatens both secularists and the religious |
Agiliti: I'm pretty sure most of those pastors enjoying private jets would have called it evil back in the days. That's a credit to humanity. Cos all peoples are capable of acquiring knowledge. Not islam. |
musKeeto: And I suspect this is the point you and weigraf have been making. Did man need GOD to create rules for sports for example? The concept of sportsmanship?the tautology is ok. However whatever is deviant to God's nature is bad, implies that the lack of complete knowledge is evil, that the lack of kindness is evil, that destruction is evil, that "unipresence" is evil |
There isn't a gay problem, there is only a cultural debate on homosexuality. In conservative religious circles, it can be. But not to Nigeria as a whole. I find the idea of legislating cultural values distasteful. Whether pro or against. I found out recently (like most young Nigerians with forgotten heritages), that same sex marriages are permissible in some Nigerian indigenous cultures. A court case on same sex marriage went public once. A barren wealthy unmarried woman married a younger woman, paid her dowries, went thru a ceremony and the regular celebration with her She procured a man to impregnate her and then claimed all the children. But the status of the children came up in court, but the colonial court held that such a tradition (same sex marriage) was not familiar with colonial laws (imported English laws). That's just one case that got up to Privy Council (equivalent of Supreme Court). Not to speak of the silent ones. We are suffering from cultural assimilation from the West, Islam, Christianity. It is as bad as a Senate president claiming same sex union isn't part of our culture, he didn't seem aware of the cultural plurality of this country. |
^^^ Ultimately it bores down to norms and behaviour. So saying morality is God doesn't suffice and doesn't confirm with what we experience |
Mr Anony, Let's start with definition of the basic terms. First morality, then good and the bad. I stick to morality as subtle normative rules made out of societal consciousness. Good and bad, are the extremities within each moral code. |
before you start arguing atleast go through the bible first..don't want post things that will cause problems....about the people you mentioned do you also know wisdom can also come from the devil..think about that
If wisdom is with the devil, then foolishness is with God and the Christians, right?! |
This is a bit like arguing that there was no objective time before the invention of the clock or no length before the invention of the ruler. Every different community and individual would of course have had different understandings of time or length but that doesn't take away the fact that 5 meters and 5 minutes have always been five meters and 5 minutes even before the emergence of the clock and the metric scale. In the same way, we can all have varying concepts of what we think is good and what is evil, but that doesn't suddenly translate into the non-existence of objective good and evil.
Just as logicboy and wiegraf said, measure time on its own exact scale and let's see what you come up with! 5 minutes is 5minutes sure, but time on its own is independent from hourglass, clock, atomic clock measurement, Sun movement or any object, so time isn't affected by the absence of any of these objects. But in the morality case, you said Jesus was the standard and consequently the absence and unawareness of Jesus precludes MOST societies frm developing a moral code! |
The concept of knowledge and God is very interesting but beset with problems, cos we don't KNOW or haven't really thought about the qualities of the first cause. We rely too often on divergent religious authorities for such an answer. Is omniscience necessary for such a being? Is foresight necessary and is consciousness necessary. For there to be a first cause and an effect, it suggests preexisting laws/structures thru which rationality follows. E.G causality. Therefore first cause is limited only on discussions abt this present universe. It is logically faulty to say the first cause is part of the Universe, rather the Universe is part of the first cause. I'm afraid inquiries into the past preceding the B.IG BAN.G find the limits of Science. |
So also companies |
jamp: No I won't tink like you. God does exist and you hv to believe that"Have to Believe!" U can believe in a non existent God |
jamp: How can people live and still believe God does not existPls you need to stop thinking like that. Try to understand the other side. |
@weigraf thanks!! @diehard where did I fall off reason? |
We need to clarify our terms |
Pastor AIO: I think that the problem that we have as human beings is that we can never know the exact state of things because the exact state of things are not 'knowable' in the sense that human's do their knowing. In other words Human knowledge is essentially flawed and cannot attain to Truth.Premature conclusion. |
@uyi iredia I don't see why you preconceive a world from nothingness. Also if you really believe everything comes from the point of nothingness, then its is impossible for even God to exist! |
Sometimes I call my gfs God. |
@ pastor AIO No. Rationality is Order$ |
