Crime / Re: Three Killed In Calabar Cult War (Graphic Photos) by kay4dem(m): 5:26pm On Oct 12, 2016
finalboss1:
Over 30 suspected cultists reportedly attacked a police patrol team at Eyamba Street, Calabar South Local Government Area of Cross River state at about 9:30p.m on Tuesday, October 11th. "The attack which reportedly claimed the lives of two policemen and one cultists also saw two police patrol vans belonging to Cross River state security outfit, Operation Skolombo burnt" freelance journalist Inyali Peter said.

Facebook user Ifere Paul's, who shared the photos wrote:

"There is a renewed war between various factions of cult groups. It is important to note that these activities are as a result of the coffin that was paraded round Calabar to welcome Governor Ben Ayade. The parade was sponsored by Ayade appointees. The spiritual implications of parading a coffin was explicitly talked about in my previous article titled "Ayade demonizes Cross River State".

While the highly respected elder statesmen in Edo State are endorsing Obaseki, those who want the State's treasury to be looted are supporting Ize-Iyamu because they feel he wouldn't disappoint in that aspect.

Let them know that we're not ready to go back to the dark ages of PDP when nothing was moving fine. If not that most of these politicians are personalizing everything, Ize-Iyamu would have testified that Oshiomole's few years in Government House is far better than that of PDP's almost 10yrs!
You better stop deceiving yourself all the politician in Nigeria are the same fighting for their pocket as usual.

Romance / Re: GOING THROUGH A DEVASTATING BREAK UP. Please Help Me Friends!! Am Dying Silently by kay4dem(m): 11:15pm On Jun 24, 2016
amaraedec:
I have not spoken to anyone about my ordeal but I sincerely hope your advice will go a long way towards healing me and restoring back my sanity.

I started dating this lady whom I still love so much February 2013, few months before I lost my mummy. I was so cautious of the affair at first, knowing that it was the first time I am getting so emotionally entangled to a lady, but after I lost my mum, I was so hurt and the fact that she was the only person very close to me then, I threw caution to the wind and fell helplessly in love with her, hoping that it would help alleviate the pains of losing My mum and praying deep inside my heart that the relationship will lead to marriage. It did to a reasonable extent alleviated the pains of losing my mum.

Even while I was in school, I gave her everything that I somehow lived in deprivation. Her friends were complaining to me that I spend a lot on her and it might backfire one day. I ignored their advice. I buy her handouts, clothes, Mobile gadgets and even give her certain amount of money on monthly basis to add up to her feeding money, I made sure she lived above her peers in school .

The whole problem started late 2014, when I was about leaving for my NYSC. she started acting quite strange, I respected her privacy that I don't even touch her phones, even though I give her the freedom to handle my phones and answer my calls. I noticed she wouldn't pick up her calls while with me. Like I said, I respected her privacy that I never gave so much thoughts into her actions, I loved and gave her my all believing that she will never cheat on me. Then on her birthday, I had got lots of surprising gifts for her and even arranged a little get together without her knowledge. To my greatest surprise, she surfaced at the venue of the party with the excuse that she was going on an errand for her parents. I handed over to her the gifts I got for her, she collected them and left the venue. Little did I know she had gone to see her erstwhile lover. Depression had started creeping in and I was losing my sanity apparently.

To cut the whole story short, when her girlfriend opened up to me that my girl was having affairs elsewhere, I never believed her at first, but after I confronted her, then I was looking so sick and pale, completely lost in thoughts and pains. She eventually opened up and was really sorry to the best of my knowledge . I couldn't help the pains, I. Started taking anti depressants, I have already vowed never to cheat in my life, knowing that prosperity has a way of rewarding Fidelity.

After I was mobilized for NYSC, I left for my Camp, but the ghost of a failed relationship was already hunting me, I had lost interest in living. Shortly after I returned back from my Orientation camp, everyone knew something was wrong with me, I only told them that it was the stress from Camp. Well, I was battered emotionally, that on 31st December 2014, I hit the rock button and decided to end my life and end the pains, I took insecticides and collection of anti depressants in over dose and battery acid, I cheated on death as I was in Coma for 4 days, I was referred to a psychologist for rehabilitation after I was discharged on the 12th of January 2015. I spent 6 months in rehabilitation Center here in Lagos State, where I was also serving then.

After the whole incident, I made up my mind to forgive her and give her a second chance since she was really sorry. The whole scenario started replaying itself, that she started acting strange again, already my friend had told me that she was seeing someone else. My family knew I was slipping into depression again and had wanted to fly me out of the country, but I was denied Visa when I least expected it. I had to leave Enugu for Lagos so as to keep away from her and the environment. but she still calls me on phone, saying that she still loves me, I truly love her so much. Am totally lost of words, lost of ideas. Am terrified to say the least. Am losing my sanity again. Please friends, depression is getting better of me at the moment.. I need a sincere advise
you are fool for you to think of committed suicide because of woman, well use your second chance wisely not everyone has the grace.

NYSC / Re: Muslim Group Rejects New NYSC Date For Orientation Due To Ramadan by kay4dem(m): 4:53pm On Jun 11, 2016
booqee:
The Muslim Rights Concern, MURIC, have released a statement rejecting the June 13th date fixed for the NYSC Batch A (Stream II) orientation course, arguing that the Muslim graduates expected to participate in the orientation will be fasting as the date clashes with their Ramadan fasting. The group argues that it would be very strenuous for Muslims to be fasting and also participate in the challenges task set for them during their orientation camp.

The statement reads in part
“It is illegal, unlawful and unconstitutional for NYSC to hold camp at a time when its Muslim members will be deprived of their freedom of worship and the liberty to practice their creed without fear. This planned camp is exclusive, discriminatory and parochial. We do not want to believe that the shift was deliberately planned to coincide with the Ramadan season with a view to excluding prospective Muslim corpers. MURIC is not trying to indulge Muslim youths. Fasting is no joke and it certainly cannot be combined with the physical challenges which characterize the NYSC camp.
Firstly, morning drills in NYSC camps are known to be rigorous and the soldiers in charge will not take excuses. Dehydration sets in later in the day particularly in the hotter regions of Nigeria.
Secondly, adequate sahuur (early morning meal taken approximately between 4 am and 5.15 am) cannot be guaranteed in the NYSC camp. Neither can the futuur (meal taken at sunset to break fast ) be timely as camp schedules are bound to ignore and subsume this very important period.
Thirdly, attending orientation camp and partaking in the energy-sapping activities on empty stomach is an indubitable invitation to health crisis. NYSC may therefore be inviting Muslim corpers to step on landmines in the planned orientation camp if it holds as presently scheduled.
There is more to Ramadan than ordinary fasting. That is on the surface. The whole month of Ramadan is a period of spiritual dedication. There are so many other spiritual exercises in which Muslims engage, the tafsiir (exegesis of the Qur’an) session, the taraawih (late evening supererogatory prayers) and nawaafil (night supererogatory prayers). Only the deep can call to the deep. All these cannot be possible in the NYSC camp.”the statement read

Politics / Re: Don’t Lose Hope, Democracy Is A Battle, Not A Banquet — Tinubu by kay4dem(m): 9:41am On May 30, 2016
HungerBAD:
By Emmanuel Aziken, Political Editor

All Progressives Congress, APC national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has urged Nigerian democracy partisans not to lose hope upon present economic challenges, saying that the quest for democracy is a battle and not a banquet. In his Democracy Day message to the nation, Tinubu who affirmed that Nigeria is just about out of the woods nevertheless urged the authorities to choose to fight recession instead of inflation in the face of the stagflation that had confronted the country.

Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State, said that fighting recession would help to create jobs, boost infrastructure and raise economic morale before subsequently tackling the inflation.

Noting the difficulties currently facing the nation, Tinubu while affirming that there was no better option to stick with than democracy said: “Remember, the quest for democracy is a battle not a banquet. We must stick with it and not give up hope, just when fairness and justice have finally gotten the upper hand. We must persevere not just until the tide of battle seems to have turned in our favour, but until the opponents of democracy have been decisively and thorough bested.

“Thus, we do not relent in defending democracy just as we should not relent in expecting the benefits inherent in democratic good governance. This means we must not sit back and merely let government contest with those who would again turn government against the general welfare. All of us must join the fray because the fray is about us when we live in a manner than fulfils our national purpose.

On challenges he proffered his counsel: “There is a problem that cuts all areas equally. If we are not careful, it will afflict us a long time to come. In a cold, swift stroke, the decline in oil prices has turned into a mockery the model upon which we had for so long based our political economy. We either must waste away or construct a new model.

“Our economy should diversify by expanding our infrastructure network, bolstering agricultural and farm incomes, as well as filliping industry and manufacturing to provide jobs for a rapidly expanding urban work force.”
