An email is normally sent to you from CIC for your medical but may not show immediately on VFS tracking site. This is because it takes a day or two for vfs to receive your package which contains your passport and any further instructions like request for new start date and fees.

So when you get the email instruction from CIC; wait a day or two for update on vfs tracking then proceed to collect your passport then go to any of the cic clinics give some blood, urine and take internal picture of your chest ..lol all for a fee of 28k simplesss

If you are specifically going for your graduation, then staying with you brother or sister is not a problem. All you need to do is present evidence of accommodation payment receipt and a letter from your brother/sister that he/she will be accommodating you for the period.

Do not panic, it would have been a different ball game if you were going for a friend's graduation. But you must ensure the uni does not have restrictions on squatting, in which case I would advice you show funds that can cover hotel bills and specify you will be staying in an hotel.
Remember you are not required to pay for accommodation until you are granted visa, same as flight but show evidence of enough funds.

jadapinket13: Yes, I was told to upload my medical and confirmation of a new start date. I asked the doctor at the clinic and he told me it has already been sent to CIC because it's e-medical. But to upload the new start date is even the problem. If the page still remain as it is, I will take it to Cdhc. Sm sure they will find a way to sort it out.

@Jadapinket13; I would advice you to take the letter of new start date to CDHC asap cos failure to do so will result in processing delay of your TRV. Ensure you indicate you UCI and application number on the envelope. Good luck. Please don't exceed any date instruction given to you for submitting any documents.

As far as am concerned this issue of bank versus telecoms is all about your passion.

I am a computer Engineering Graduate, my passion is for telecoms and am doing well in that area as am already a Certified Cisco Networking Engineer but my best friend and classmate loves the bank sector which he joined during his NYSC. He is not planning on leaving as he is also doing well over there. He has improved himself as a Microsoft specialist.

So my their; Passion is the key in selection else you will not advance even in a green land.

Let me give you an instance, I have a friend I leaved with, he became a Branch manager in the space of four years from the date of his NYSC with the bank but in that same bank some people have worked 10 years before him and most likely will never be a Branch Head SO?

Where do you feel you can excel?

Before diving into any I.T career path, you must find out what it involves and if you have the passion for it. I have met a couple of individuals who say they have Oracle certification or Microsoft certification and would like to take the Cisco certification exam. This is really not going to take you far because you will find yourself being "a jack of all trade and master of non"

Oracle is a Database management certification, so you don't have any business here if you love to be a Network Professional
Cisco certifications are for Network Professionals so if you are interested in Database or Server management then you are in the wrong place.


The point I am making is that you should take out time to plan out in line with your passion what branch of I.T you would like to be a Master.

Avoid taking certification exams just becomes there is money to make from becoming certified in that field. If you do this, you will soon have yourself to blame as you will not attain your full potential and presently, Companies are not just out for your certifications alone but for what your certification can offer so if you are not delivering as they expect of you, then you are half way unemployed as someone will soon replace you.

As Technology advances, this certification are modified to meet up with the needs, so recertification is unavoidable and in some cases a space of just two years is all that is spared to enjoy your present certification status or get phased out.

A lot of this certifications need you to take between 3 to 7 different exams before you can attain the peak qualification. This exams are really time and money intensive, so your only will power to go thru to the end will be your passion for that particular I.T path.

All these are not meant to scare you from getting an I.T certification but to help get the right one as there are great and unending benefit but financially and socially.
