Champion2013: Greetings house, I have been a silent follower since I applied for a student visa to Canada but I want to use this opportunity to pass the good news.
School : Conestoga college
Program: PGD in Global business management.
Applied June 26, 2013
Medical call Aug 26,2013
Medicals done: 6th sept 2013
TrV: 10th oct , 2013
Resumption date : jan 6, 2014

I used an agent before I discovered this thread on nairaland.. Any conestoga college student here?
See you all in Canada!.
I will post the documents I submitted soon.
BEST OF LUCK TO ALL MEDICAL HOPEFULS AND TRV AWAITEES.
Congratulation, I tap into your good news.
May I ask where you did your medicals because am yet to see any body who did medicals at Consultant practice in Sept, getting his or her trv.

Make we know how to channel our combine prayers. grin

chidiadi50: should i go to EMBASSY or vac office where i submitted?
The embassy is the correct place to get any meaningful response but tomorrow is Thanksgiving holiday.

ancient1: Hello house,
Is it ok to submit the telex copy payment ref because a receipt for my board fee is not yet available and I want to return my passport via vfs tomorrow. Meds was done on 7th Oct and I'm to resume on 1st November. I got the instruction to pay a years accommodation which I did on 9th Oct but a receipt is not yet ready.
I hope there are people who presented the telex copy as proof of payment in place of a receipt from the school and got their visa issued.
By my experience, your money will reflect in your university bank account by tomorrow being the 3rd day after payment but the problem is that both the school and CDHC will be on Thanksgiving holiday tomorrow, so there is not much you can do about the receipt.

What deadline did CDHC give you to submit the receipt? If you still got until Wednesday; I would advice that you give the school a call on Tuesday and have them send you a copy of the recipt via email. So you just print and submit along with your telex.

Good luck with your TRV

earthgreeners: He is too young to be left alone...therefore, proper arrangement should be made to monitor his progress.....
"Too young at 17" you are kidding me right? Young yes but not too young.
Take a look at the universities in Canada, UK and USA; you will see a lot of his age mates both foriegn and local students doing just fine. This is why most foriegn universities give accommodation preference to first here undergraduate students.

You must understand that being 17 now means he would be 18 (adult) next year when they plan on sending him over.

As for the case of proper arrangements like funding ; I am 100% on your advice. Canada is a far way from home. But please give the young man a chance and a bright future. I really wish I had the opportunity at that age, having finished secondary school at 16.

Sleem-B:
these are the docs I submitted:
1.statement of salary account with a closing bal of 6m,though about 3m came in the month of submission.
2.Payslip of about 200k net.
3.pension statement of about 1,9m
4.employment letter stating that i earn about 4.4m annually.
5.official employment letter from my manager (stating that i will have to handover weeks before my leave)
6.my wife's birth cert and passport.
7.my son's birth cert.
8.payment receipt of 2000CAD from MUN.
these are the vital docs I could remember.
I could not get a leave letter as i am not qualified according to my organization's policy on study leave,I have a land that was valued at about 2.5m as at the time of application but my agent did not include it cos it has no C.of O.
Your documents would have been adequate if your were sponsoring your wife, child or someone else. From all indication, you will be quitting your job therefore there will no salary inflow to sustain you and your family.
Like I mentioned before; you need to sure enough balance in your account to cater for yourself and your family except you show proof that your wife is able to sustain herself and the child whilst you are away.

The issue here is not a matter C of O to a land you own. What the VO is concerned about is verifiable continues source of income which I believe your land is not earning you money via rentage.

It has been said severally on NLand that you don't really need to pay big bucks to agants as they don't perform miracles. Lets get some fact straight here.

Look at the requirements as a VO would:
1) Can the student pay his full tuition and accommodation without seeking a job?
2) What are his cash flow while studying in canada?
3) Does he have dependants he must support financially? If yes; how will he sustain them without a job?

Once you can answer these questions correctly then you are sure to scale through the visa process.

Sleem-B:
Hello all,
I need guidance and advice on my second visa application against Sept 2014.
I got admission to MUN for engr'ng management earlier this year(for Sept 2013) and I got an agent for the visa application.though my school fees was 22k CAD,i had a closing balance of over 6m though about 3million left some weeks after,I was denied based on SPONSORSHIP NOT CREDIBLE.
A friend that works with an oil firm wanted to co-sponsor then but my agent said it might not fly cos I already had a family and it might be difficult for the VO to swallow that.Though I am married with a kid,my wife lost her job late last year,so i could not add her salary account statement.
MUN has sent my new deferral offer against 2014 and I plan to start the application myself. Please i need all the right guidance I can get.My monthly salary is about 220K per month.kindly advise how best to package the application to avoid the sponsorship credibility issue agai.
So sorry your agent did not give you the brilliant idea he was meant to render.

There are red flags you must avoid when applying as a married man because the VO is interested in knowing how you plan to support yourself and family without working in Canada even if you are entitled to 20hrs/week work permit.

A tuition of 22k by an exchange rate of 157 to a dollar, will give you 3.45M; so your balance needs to be almost double this amount because you are self sponsored and have no other means of support.

I have a colleague who was in same situation but finally he got his trv and he is currently in canada. In his case he payed his tuition upfront before applying.

Onye oma: I think with his grades in WAEC and his present performance in school, either options are possible(very very)...

He should construct a very powerful statement of purpose outlining all his achievements in it...

If his school can release his transcript to him,Transfer credit will be kul for him. If getting his transcript proves to be a challenge, he should apply for 1st year...

I'm optimistic that if he goes to Canada now that his brain is still hot,he'll achieve enviable greatness...
I agree 100% with Onye oma; there is a very high possibility of getting admission and transfer credit. Please contact the school about this, ensure you give full detail of his performance and achievements.

He is not too young, this is the perfect time to develop his potentials. Please encourage him the best way you can.

If he can get the admission before the month end and has all financial power. I believe he can still make Jan2014 through online visa application

I noticed people who use online are getting visa within 5 weeks or less so applying in early Nov will Still stand a chance. Worse case scenario the VO will give the option to get new start date

I was touched with the story as am planning the same thing my self here in naija am married with 2kids my job is just every day job with little salary and this naija bank issue affected my man and since then things has been hard ,we were thinking of relocating to usa with the little money we saved to start all over please what do you guys think cos his finding it very hard to get another reasonable job here.

If you must relocate; I would advise you consider Australia, Canada or Swizz. They have better prospect for immigrants.

One of you can go first then moves other over when a little bit stable.

Quantumfisika: Oga sir...I hav bin cald for medicals too..after medicals are u expected to go resubmit anytn at vfs again? I tot asaju will upload wateva needs to b uploaded... me wan go srait to Asaju since they accept photocopy of passport then afterwards go to vfs and collect the envelope they said have for me
Congrats on ur medics; All you need to submit to vfs after medicals is your passport and evidence of tuition/board payment if it was included in the vfs package.

The doctor will upload ur medical report himself. I advice you pick up the vfs package today if available. And check for any instructions from CHDC. So that you can quickly make any tuition payment on monday before the public holiday on tuesday and Wednesday. At least the 3 days to reflect in Canada bank will work to your favour.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by kclexa(m): 10:16pm On Oct 08, 2013
Vicjustice: 1) Even if the school authority allows squatting, it can never be an acceptable accommodation to aid her visa application.
2) Hotel has no business with her visa application, so booking or paying for a hotel has nothing to do with her issuance or refusal of visa.
3) Flight ticket is not a requirement itinerary does not mean flight ticket: airlines do not require that a person shows evedence of fund
@Vicjustice; I don't think you got my advice right.
My advice was from experience because I attended a UK university and know what is required. Please read my post properly before concluding.

You are always adviced not to make any hotel of flight bookings before receiving your visa except instructed by the visa officer to do so. But you must show sufficient funds to cover all these necessities. The graduation letter from the university already shows he/she is not just visiting on holiday. Where you stay after arriving in the UK is totally left to you as long as you had satisfied the VO that you won't be a liability.

By the way staying with a female friend or sister is not a taboo, just that privacy is highly respected.

Yes bro, submitted on the 18th of last month, thats 2 days before the deadline. But we are the old school paper route type. So patience is our virtue.

ChriGo; I get your point but since he has until 16th and today is just 8th. He still has the 2 to 3 days within his reach. I was advising from my personal experience as same thing happened to me but the receipt arrived 3 days after the talex.

What better way to learn ? If not from other people's experience. This Canada thing na proper training for patience and perseverance.

PlayPays: I have a guy that also did medical a month now but the thing is a winter applicant has no reason to be in hurry since you still have enough weeks before start date. Meanwhile, to avoid d kinda situation of Deebla you just have to visit cdch to confirm if they've gotten ur result, aint no harm in that!
Playpays; thanks for the heads up. Yea am in for the winter so there is still time but will do what deebla did before the 60 days window runs out.

In the main time, let me keep helping others get to the stage I have passed.. cheesy

jaymdee: Oh, now this is getting scary. My school's account office says my tuition and board hasn't dropped in my student account yet, and the embassy needs the receipt by oct 16. I'm worried about this. Anyone facing similar situation? I have my telex copy mailed to me from my bank (for the wire transfer). Can I submit this telex copy with an explanation letter? It seems risky. Please let me hear from you guys.
Don't be worried, it takes about 2 to 3 working days for it to reflect in Canada school accounts.

From your info, I believe the school will send you the tuition receipt via email before Friday latest. Please do not submit you talex without a copy of receipt from the school.

If you don't receive it by 8pm Thursday evening then call the school account dept again. Remember the time difference between nigeria and canada is about 5 to 6 hrs depending on the region.

Good luck

fattlordclub: @Kclexa, thanks and i understand what you mean. There is always an instruction on how to fill and go the forms. Sometimes we need to exercise some time reading them out. I'm pretty sure you have this on the instruction they gave to you.
@Fattlordclub; I don't really get your point on the instruction thingy. I already did my medicals a month ago. I was only commenting on the issue of delayed submittion of medical report to cdhc by the clinic via france due to technical itch.

Thanks for the heads up all the same. Cheers

Guys, please help me with advice. You all know this thread has hundreds of pages and I cant read them all. Please I wish to run my M.Sc in Biotechnology or Molecular Biology in a Canadian University. Ottawa, Toronto, anywhere. I've got a 2.1 in Biochemistry. I need specific advice on how to begin the whole process, both applications, visa, medicals, etc, pls. I wouldnt mind private chatting or mails, pls. So that I can start now. Any 1 touched can help.
Pietrosanti222@gmail.com, 08185694448, watsapp. Sum1 assist a brother.
God has placed the power to succeed is in your hands.
1) Use you best internet friend; google to search for universities offering such masters in Canada
2) Check out their tuition fee for the duration of the course and ensure you pick the ones within your budget. Some tuition fees are not straightforward so you may need to do a little arithmetic.
3) Check out their application requirements and ensure you can meet them all. Some may require you to get an academia who will agree to surpervise you during your masters.
4) Apply online directly on the university website. Be ready to pay application fee of 100 dollars or less depending on the university.
5) Have your undergraduate transcript sent to them. Then wait for your admission.

Once you get your admission letter, you can proceed to the visa application phase. Just have it in mind that you need to present 4 months bank statement of sufficient fund from your sponsor during visa application.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 4 by kclexa(m): 9:26pm On Oct 07, 2013
fattlordclub: @Kclexa, take it slowly at this stage....lolz. Your medical confirmation will sent out to France for authentication. These clinic would carry out necessary tests on you,but every will sent to France. I know it takes about 10 business day within Canada. In your case you might want to exercise patient for like a month or less. Still, that is the normal processing for you guys in Naija.
I am taking it easy o!! Just that if deebla had not visited cdhc to confirm, who knows what would have happened. Maybe 60 days for just pass like film trick

Am a little frightened about your ordeal with Consultant Practice clinic, thats a big RED flag. Any idea if this was a one time error on their part or other people have faced this same problem.
